She let out a puff of air. "Well I imagine I will decide that, assuming I ever see the worst in you..." To be honest she did not have any desire to see his worst. She liked him like this, with the occasional flare. Like this it was warm. She found herself relaxing against him and his touch.
"You too Fire Spike. You be careful as well." The words came out in a contented sigh but she meant them somewhat seriously. She did not doubt that he would be able to handle her should she lose herself. He at least deserved some warning though even as vague as the one she gave. It would not be right to leave him completely unaware.
She fell silent for a while happy enough where she was. Her mind was still in a way that it never was. There were no thoughts racing through it but it was not blank as it went when she was unconscious. The feeling was somewhat confusing but at the same time she did not feel confused at all. "Fire Spike you need a different name..." She said finally, completely serious. The name he had now was one like the names she gave to every other creature. He was not like every other creature so he needed a better more special name.

Nodding, Axel was a natural at this stuff. Even though he didn't do this very often, he knew what to say and when to say it. "Oh yes. I would not want to see a bad side of you." He said half jokingly teasing her playfully. There was something about her that made him feel... at ease. It was a pleasant feeling.
He really didn't want to see the day that she got extremely angry or anything like that. Axel could handle it but he wouldn't like it. But he didn't mind. As long as a part of her was like the Phia he knew, that would be fine with him.
"A different name?" He questioned the thought curiously. "Why is that? I thought you picked my name because you liked it." Chuckling heartily, Axel was definitely intrigued by this possible change. He had gotten so used to hearing 'Fire Spike' that he really didn't mind it anymore.

She laughed a little at the teasing. He was right not to want to see that side of her. She doubted that he would, however, so she could see the humor in the words. While it was easy to make her snap the side of her that she did not want many to see took a little bit of pushing to get at.
"Oh yes, a different name." She said allowing the thoughts of herself to slip back away. As he laughed she pulled away so she could meet his eyes. "I do like your name very much now of course. However, it does not suit you at all any more." She tilted her head from side to side for no reason what so ever. The little angel already had a good idea what she was going to call him. It made more sense to her to make it appear like she was putting a lot more thought in to the name then she was. All those she held a high opinion of were either 'beloved' or 'dear' to her. His name now was Fire Spike so it was very obvious what his new name would be, at least to her.
"I will call you either Beloved Flame or Dear Fire, whichever you prefer." She hoped he realised how important it was that she was giving him a choice between names.

"I see." Axel looked at her feeling like this was the first time he's been truly happy in a long time. Hopefully he would never have to see that side of her even though he was curious. The stallion listened to her as she reasoned out why he was getting a new name. "Uh huh... Or you could just call me Axel." He grinned teasingly and wondered what she had in mind.
"Oh? You're going to let me pick? How about you decide for me because it is something only you're going to call me." He really didn't mind either of them but he just wanted her to call him whatever she wanted.
There was just something... Axel felt very... protective over Phia and he just couldn't get over how much he cared about her. But it was hard to believe that he could already be head over heels about another mare. Then again, it was Phia... That made him smile a little on the inside.

She frowned at his suggestion. Axel was something she did not want to ever call him. Real names were only used if she were angry with the person and she didn't want to be mad with him. Frustration and irritation were things she felt on a daily bases no matter who she happened to be with but anger towards a person was not something normal for her. Anger meant you had failed her judgement and he had passed with flying colors.
Oh, he did not want to chose? She found that somewhat unusual but not really in a bad way. She figured that most would jump at the chance to pick what she would call them. He didn't. Somehow this made her smile but she was not entirely sure why. "Very, well then. You will be my Beloved Flame." She said with a little nod. The sound of the name sounded a bit more dignified though she imagined the two could be interchangeable like the names of her family members.
She made a note in her mind of the change in his name and wondered if sometime she would have to change his name once again later on. Her head tilted a little to the side as she studied him with a soft gaze. Seraphia felt very close to him in a way different from what she felt towards her family. Everything had a name to her but this, she did not know what it was called. She would have to think on it just a bit longer and with that she straightened her head and smiled.

"Don't frown, silly." Looking at her with a smirk, Axel felt pretty content right now. Already, he could feel his feelings for Phia growing and he knew he never wanted to see her sad or upset. So, he really didn't mind letting her pick a nickname for him. The nicknames were beginning to grow on him and seemed rather endearing.
He wasn't really close to anybody except Chitsa. She helped him when nobody else did so he would never forget that. But Phia was different and Axel had known that the second he met her. It was strange for him, getting close to another mare after having encountered Wica only a few hours ago.
Axel looked down at her fondly and nodded in agreement to her choice of nickname. It really wouldn't have mattered to him.

Then it was decided. Her golden eyes locked on to his emerald green ones. The smile still present on her face widened by a barely noticeable amount. Whether he found it important or not didn't really mattered. What did matter was that it help great meaning to her and him simply agreeing was a good sign. It showed that she had chosen an acceptable name.
For a while she didn't say a word, she didn't even breath. Her eyes were fixed on him not like she was expecting him to do something but rather like she was simply cementing his face and this moment and the times leading up to it in her mind. Once everything was firmly set so that it wouldn't be forgotten she ruffled her wings slightly. "So...this place you know, where is it?"
With a little smirk she stepped closer and pressed her cheek to his chest. She had not forgotten that this was what had lead to a bit of trouble earlier but somehow she didn't see it resurfacing. If it did she would ignore it. Right now she was quite content and no place was going to take that from her. She would rip it apart first.

Looking back into her eyes, Axel knew that things would be okay now. But it would be difficult, everything that came near him would have a difficult time. But he felt that they would be okay. He wanted to work things out.
"This place? Oh, it's near the mountains. I don't want to spoil the surprise though. It's dark but I think that you would like it." Shrugging, Axel liked the place and he thought she might enjoy it too. He nuzzled her affectionately. She brought out this compassionate side in him that hardly anybody ever saw. Axel's fiery attitude kept others away and it took someone like Phia to really get to know him.
He didn't like causing problems and he really tried but sometimes he couldn't help it. Before he disappeared for a few months, Axel cause trouble and raised hell when he met others but he had definitely calmed down.

So it was a dark place after all. She gulped slightly but beat back her worries with a mental stick. They had only just gone over it and she didn't want him thinking that she didn't trust him again. At his touch she smiled. The timing was simply too perfect and for a moment she wondered if her Beloved Flame could read her mind.
The thought sent a shiver down her spine. It was one of both excitement and slight fear. She didn't figure it was true though, even if his timing was good. So after a moment she decided it would likely be best to give him a response so he wouldn't have to wait. Without pulling away she turned her head upward keeping a smile on her face.
"The mountains are quite large...so I imagine you will be leading me correct?" It was her version of a 'yes'. Simple answers were things that were rarely given both out of habit and simply because it was less fun to be straightforward all the time. "Will it be far?" She was hoping that the answer was yes. The further the better because the longer the trip the longer it would take.

"It's safe though. It just happens to be dark there and trust me, there are no trees." He didn't want her to worry about anything. Chuckling, Axel grinned childishly at her and nodded. "Yes, I will be leading unless you already know the way. It's a decent amount of time away but I think we could make good time." Axel really didn't mind spending more time with her but he hoped that this wouldn't inconvenience her in any way.
"After you." Bowing down slightly nodding in a north-west direction, Axel hadn't been to this place in awhile but he had loved it there when he had found it. There were some perks to having lived in isolation for months. He had to do something and exploring was one of those things.
He began walking towards the mountains closest to here. Looking fondly at Phia, Axel was glad that she was going with him because he had never shown anybody this place.

That was a promising thought. Without trees around she wouldn't have to worry so much about stumbling blindly into one of them. That would avoid a headache and an outburst quite nicely. She smirked and rolled her eyes at his response. "I of course have no idea where you are thinking of or I would not be asking so many questions." She was a little disappointed that they planned to make 'good time'. That meant traveling quickly and while that meant good news for her hunt. It did not spell good things for her. What a pity.
Still, when he pointed her in the right direction she did not hesitate to move. She stepped away from him and smiled cooly as she passed giving her long tail a flick. She moved slowly so that she wouldn't get far ahead and before long her Beloved Flame was in the lead. Good, she had no idea where she was going. A general direction wasn't good for very much.
Like a loyal dog she trailed after him keeping as close to his side as she could without making moving difficult. Her eyes flickered between the ground to make sure she did not stumble and the stallion beside her. Right now she was pleased for several reasons but still her mind was unsettled. Curiousity kept her thoughts racing and jumping from one subject to the next silently. They never lingered for more then a few minutes before leaping to something but else but often they returned to a single thought.
Where was it that they were going in the mountains?

Axel continued to walk through the forest noticing that the mountains were becoming more and more visible over the treetops. The snow was long gone but Axel already looked forward to next winter. There was silence for awhile but he was comfortable that way. It was strange to always be talking and silence always seemed more natural.
He walked alongside her and that seemed normal too. Phia was different... from Wica. Phia could take care of herself for the most part but Wica needed him in every way possible. But Phia had saved him. That was something that Axel needed.
"Have you ever been to the mountains?" Axel had managed to go there a few times but not for very long. He couldn't tolerate the cold very well so he had to go back down quickly.

Walking alone she had grown accustomed to silence but not this kind. This was a comfortable silence shared by two people and not the silence that came from not wanting to speak to herself at the moment. It was an odd sort of silence but not one that especially bothered her. When it was broken by his voice she couldn't say she minded at all, however.
"Hmmm?" She blinked a little at the question. "I cannot say I have really." This was not entirely true. She had been to the mountains before but she had never set foot on the rocks that would lead her in to them. "My dearest mother did not wish me to go in to them alone but she never wished to join me. So I naturally stayed away despite myself."
She had been quite curious about the mountains when she had been younger. All the curiosity in the world, however, would not lead her to disobeying an order, especially not one from her mother. She would suffer a thousand deaths and a thousand lives locked between hell and heaven before she would ignore an order from one precious to her. Which was one reason why she was so pleased that her Beloved Flame was taking her out to the mountains. She was not alone now. It was allowed.

Axel was used to the silence. Even though it was quiet, he could still sense her presence walking next to her. There was nothing to worry about.
"Well, I think you'll enjoy this then. It's not exactly the mountains but it's close enough." Nodding, Axel nudged her slightly while they were walking. "I'll take care of you so don't worry." The stallion continued walking looking around making sure that they were on the right track. It would still be a little further.
He liked the mountains except for the fact that they got chilly during the winter. But during the summer, they were perfect for an adventure or journey. You always found something new when you went there. The soquili that came from the mountains were different than those from everywhere else. Some had strange dialects and habits.

It wasn't the mountains then? This information left her blinking. They were not going to the mountains but close to them then? This news should have been a relief to her, if they weren't going to the mountains then she didn't even have to consider her mother's orders. Instead it left her confused. What was near the mountains that was somewhat dark but still wonderful? From what she had heard it was just dark forests and dead lands near the mountains.
Curiosity was starting to get the better of her. As much as she wanted to prolong their time together she wanted to see where they were going more. She could always find a way to make time last longer once they were there right? "Where is it you are taking me?" She asked tugging at his mane eagerness seeping in to her voice. "How much further is it?"
Her eyes began to dart about as though she might catch sight of it any second despite not knowing what it was she was looking for.
