"A pleasure! Lots of pleasure! Yay! Gir is very happy in Lady Imordana's service. He will serve her as good as he can!" His voice was still rather childsh as he took his seat and ate his meal. As he ate he had observed the two whom he assumed were Imordana's family. He wondered what it was like to have a family for he had no memory of his own. Sometimes, when he did dream, he had some visions of drow he thought might be his family. But his dreams were so far and few he couldn't remember them after having them.

Gir was pretty out of it for the majority of the conversation that took place between the siblings. He just continued to stare off into space. His gaze went unbroken until he was touched by his lady. He blinked suddenly and looked to her. Gir smiled brightly, "Hello! The meal was good! Gir is full! What shall he do for his lady now?"

He wanted to please her as best he could but he was unsure of what she required of him. He almost did resemble the puppy he had been compared to earlier. If he had be born with a tail, it would be wagging about a mile a minute.

Imordana smiled rather indulgently at Gir, folding her lap napkin in half and laying it at the side of her plate. There was something pleasing by Gir's enthusiastic willingness to work for her. She rose from her chair, and motioned for Gir to follow her.

They walked back to the room the servants had, much to her satisfaction, cleaned until it was sparkling. She sighed happily, and turned to Gir saying.
"These are your quarters while you are here Gir, you may do as you wish in them. Just try and keep it from getting too dirty. You needn't do deep cleaning or housework. You are here to play with Gir'branur whenever you wish. I warn you though, he does have a rather mean streak and may try to harm you while you are sleeping or meditating. I will be placing a warding spell on your doorway..so that anyone that means you harm cannot pass through, so there's nothing to be fearful of."

With this said, Imordana turned to the doorway, pulled a ring from her pocket dropped it in the doorway and began to chant. "Xal Lloth cha'kohk nindyn vel'uss xo'al ulu sultha xuil verin wun nind rarr ulu l'dalhar wun nindol cuass'ili." After she finished chanting...the doorway glowed bright red for several moments before fading to a faint gold glow.

"I have a few things to work with, so I will be leaving you alone for awhile. Make sure to look after yourself, and try not to torment the servants too much. We can't really afford to lose any more of them. If you feel like exploring the House, you may do so. I would advise you to stay away from the training room, as Ad'hemar seems to be in a bad mood at the moment. If there is anything you need, feel free to ask any of the servants for it. If you have need of me, I should be back in a few hours. Do you think you'll be alright on your own?"

Gir followed his lady down the hall and listened to her speak to him. He looked into his room, as if seeing it for the first time. His mattress was still in the middle, some lovely sheets now folded neatly. He nodded with a smile to her. As she mentioned he would be protected at night he was reminded of something, but he chose to wait until his lady was done. He watched with a strange facination as she chanted her spell. One of Gir's greatest illusionary abilities was that of copying spells he had seen. He didn't need to know how to control his magic to do so, as his memory and imagination seemed to do it for him.

"Gir will explore! He wishes to see his new home! But he will be a good boy while out! Maybe he will play with your other Gir!" This made the boy laugh very childishly. The idea that her brother had the same name as himself gave him great merth. "Oh! Gir must give you something!" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a note. The front of it said To Whomever Takes In Gir. Once he had given her the note he immediately wandered off with no other explination as to why he had given her the letter. He was in search of his new playmate.

The letter, if Imordana chose to read it, went as follows....

"To you who has a brave soul and have taken in the Gir, we offer this advice. Never enter his room while he sleeps. Awakening him is impossible. But his dreams are deadly. Gir rarely dreams and pray he never does while in your service. His dreams are not only deadly but maddening for those who survive them. He can reproduce any spell he has seen and can take it to extreme levels. Give this warning to all who serve you and keep it close to your heart. Less you become one of the wandering mad at the hands of Gir the Illusionist."

It was unsigned but obviously spoke the truth.

Imordana smiled down on Gir as he laughed. She was rather surprised when the young drow handed her the piece of parchment then promptly left, most likely looking for her brother. She chuckled rather mirthfully at the idea of Gir playing with Gir'branur. She eyed the folded parchment thoughtfully, then slowly opened it, making sure to not tear it. She note slowly and was rather stunned by what she read.

Perhaps it was a good idea she had placed the spell on his doorway. She shuddered, and then pondered the note for a few moments. It had said, anyone that disturbed him while he slept. Not just those who wished had evil intentions towards him. So..a servant thinking they were doing a service for her, could inadvertedly become brain dead from trying to awake him!
This alarmed her greatly. She frowned, eying the doorway and tried to think of another spell to keep everyone and anyone from entering the room.

Perhaps a repelling spell? yes..that just might work. Thank goodness, that she hadn't done this spell in front of him. Who knew what he could have done with it had he seen her perform it. It took her close to half an hour to speak the incantation properly and infuse the repelling spell on the door and doorway of his quarters. Afterward, she was quite exhausted from the outpouring of magic.

She wandered off to her quarters, hiding the note back in secret compartment in the back of her closet before letting herself fall in a heap on her bed. She stared up at the canopy that covered her bed, thinking over her plans, and all that she had had to go through to get this far. It was possible that everything would go as she had planned, though there was still the possibility that everything would end up going to hell in a hand basket. She screwed up her face, a feeling of waryness settling over her. There was something that she had missed. Something that she hadn't thought about. And it was most likely going to plague her for the rest of the night if she kept laying there and doing nothing about it.

Gir wandered the halls of his new home, taking in the details of the house. He had an eye for detail, memorizing every brick and step in a place he had been. He had developed it unconciously and added to his abilities. When the note mentioned Gir could reproduce the spells, it had meant he could visual reproduce them. He had no other magical ability but when seeing a spell work he could make it amazing. A small fireball in the hand could turn into a flaming comet in the ceiling. A small firecracker explosion could become a wall crushing explosion.

Gir continued his exploration, passing a random servant from time to time. Each would suddenly stop to reguard the colorful person infront of them. He would smile brightly before playing a few rounds with them. Disappearing, reappearing, coming out of their pockets like a mouse. Many ran off whimpering, hoping not to run into him again. The young male continued his rounds, learning every aspect of the house.

Imordana layed on her bed for a little while longer before she got up and began to ready herself for the secret rendezvous she was going to have with Dra. She couldn't help but let a happy grin work itself onto her face, as past memories of...meetings with him played in her head. She rummaged through her closet for a fitting outfit for the night. She pulled out a sheer corset, followed by a rather short skirt, tights, and long heeled boots. She pulled the clothes on, and looked herself over in the mirror.

"Now this outfit will have him drooling and ready for anything I want."
She said, with a happy speculative look.

That done, she pulled a long cloak over her outfit, and grabbed her pouch of coins and enchanted rings, and tied it to her waist. She might have need of them, seeing as it was rather late at night and one never knew if they would be accosted or attacked in the streets of Undrek' Thozz. With one last glance at herself, Imordana pulled the cloak over her head and made her way out of the House.

At least Dra' had his own rooms, thanks to the kind benefactor who had paid for his schooling. That had been on stipulation that Dra' had insisted upon when he had entered the College of Magic years before. Imordana had always figured that the benefactor was probably related to Dra' when she had heard about it. Dra's past was rather a strange one, not to mention a rather lucky one at that. It was as though the Goddess had been watching over him since he had been born, which was reason enough for Imordana to go to him whenever she needed help with a problem. She figured, if the He was able to help her than the Goddess was in favor of her actions in some sense.

As she wandered the streets, keeping an eye out for any miscreants who would think she was an easy mark, she went over the plans in her mind.
She would need to procure the magical item, brew the potion; which would take nearly a week by Dra's instructions. Then...to use it against the Matron and free herself from the binding spell that had been placed on her. Then...Imordana would be free to act against the crazed Matron. And during the time it took to locate a thief to find the magical item, Gir would suffice in keeping Gir'bran'ur and Ad'hemar occupied. She chewed on her lip as she wondered if Gir would be enough of a distraction for the both of them.

She shook her head, as though to clear it then entered the side street to the building that Dra' resided in. She passed the lower rooms, and climbed the stairs up to the rooms he had on the top floor. She knocked on the door, tap...tappity tap tap. She paused to wait, and heard sounds of movement in the room...seconds later the door opened only a slit as Dra' looked out. Then the door swung open, revealing Dra' standing in only a pair of silk sleeping pants, his hair slightly messy.

"'Dana!" He exclaimed in a husky tone, his excitement barely contained...just as it should be. "Please...come in."

Imordana grinned at him, brushing against him as she came into the room.
"So...dear Dra', are you ready for me?"

What followed, you may well guess, but I won't be writing here.

Gir was far to happy exploring his new home. He went into every nook and crany searching for potential playmates. He even stopped by the large rock creature that guarded the house. He liked this creature, it was big and scary! A few females who did approach him bowed as they were servants but Gir merely bowed lower, forever knowing women were above him no matter what the stature. It seemed to surprise them and some seemed to take a fancy to the naive nature in which he walked around. One even gave him a cookie for being such a nice young boy.

The males however stayed about as far away from Gir as they possibly could. There were a few among them, those that were sent out into the market place on errads, who had either heard of or seen Gir. Thankfully none had been at the business end of his magical abilities but more than one had seen his magic in action. Most whispered as he passed, knowing he really didn't care if he heard or not, as to why Lady Imordana had brought such a dangerous creature into the house. Gir had no house of his own and no one could remember him being a part of one. Some say he came from another city after destroying his own house. Others said he was abandoned at an early age due to his magic and raised in the wilds of the underdark. But no one knew, least of all Gir himself.

A few of the guards prevented the young illusionist from wandering into the land of the fighting brother. When told the man he was to avoid was in that area he promptly turned around and walked the other way. He would never cross his Lady's orders. However there was one brother who he was allowed to play with and he was getting a little bored. That was never a good thing for Gir. He started talking to himself when he did that, as if there were a second one of him. Sometimes there was, as his illusions made a copy of himself to talk to. This was not one of those times, it was merely Gir rambling on to himself.

"Gir looks for Gir but cannot find Gir. Perhaps Gir is hiding from Gir? Is Gir afraid of Gir? Gir does not know but Gir will find Gir and they will play together!" He giggled to himself. "Gir must be fun if Lady Imordana says Gir can play with him. So Gir will play, and Gir will have fun." Of course any who walked by had no idea what Gir was talking about or which Gir was going to be playing and which would be having fun. For both of those could be two entirely different people. The long white hair he still had swayed back and forth as he continued his search for his playmate.

The other Gir, was hiding away in a sense. He was sitting with the Matron, trying to make sense of what Ad'hemar had told him earlier. He glanced over at the sleeping form of the Mother matron and frowned. For once, he didn't quite believe or take Ad'hemar's words at face value. He had after all seen the Matron go into one of her mad tirades and get hysterical and demanding until she had finally worn herself out.

He shuddered. It hadn't been a very pleasant thing to witness. He was sure now, more than before that Imordana was right. Gods curse her. He silently swore, as he watched the rise and fall of the Matrons' chest as she slept. He and Ad'hemar had taken to guarding her personally every night, to ensure that Imordana couldn't bring about any of her murderous intentions towards the matron.

Gir, leaned back in his seat, reclining as best as he could in the unmoving iron back of the chair. He squirmed around, trying to get comfortable. He had about half an hour more until Ad'hemar was done with his training and then he would be relieved for a short while. The short sessions had been Ad'hemar's idea so that they wouldn't get complacent or bored from sitting with the Matron for hours upon hours.

The door squeaked on its hinges, causing Gir to jump up to his feet, his sword ready in his hand as he moved to stand protectively in front of the Matron. The worn and tired face of Zo'shurinn peaked in from around the corner...causing Gir to slightly relax.
"Ad'hemar said to be on the look out, that pest Gir is on the move...apparently looking for someone. He figures he might try and get in here to disturb the matron."

Gir'bran'ur scowled, and rather noisily thrust his sword back into its scabbard. "Thanks. I don't see why she even brought that...thing here." He muttered, as he retook his seat next to the bed.

"I have no clue. If you'd like I could keep tabs on him for you, but it'll cost you."
Zo'shurinn grinned revealing several missing teeth.

"I'd rather not. I have enough servants doing that for me as it is." Gir replied rather dryly, focusing once more on the matron. "Though you can tell me if Ad'hemar will be here to relieve me on time. I do have several things I need to do."

Before the servant could reply, the door was pushed all the way open, and a sweat glistening Ad'hemar strode into the room, his eyes looking down on the matron and around the room before coming to settle on Gir.
"You can go now, I'll expect you back within an hour."

Gir didn't need to hear anything more, he was up and out of the room, practically shoving the servant aside to get out of the room. As he left, the gaze of Zo'shurinn and Ad'hemar followed him in disgust.
"I think he may be turning against you." Zo'shurinn said.
"I don't give a rat's a** about Gir. He won't be around for much longer as it is. If all goes as planned, neither will Imordana." Ad'hemar replied, his tone going cold. "And you and I will finally rule the House."

Mess with the matron? Oh hardly. Gir was polite to all women unless they meant harm to his Lady. Anyone who made any verbal or physical attempt to bring harm to Imordana would feel the true wrath that Gir could deliver. But perhaps the warning had come to Gir for other reasons. For perhaps he was in danger or maybe he wasn't but then again only time would tell. The Insane Gir wandered his merry way round, grinning at any servant that passed. He even asked some servants were Gir was but most thought it was his insanity and that he was asking where he was already standing.

Then Gir's ears caught the gate of the drow he was looking for. His grin spread wide. He was in a deserted hallway of the house so it was perfect for a game. He stepped back and leaned against the wall. His mind began to think of ways to play with Gir and thus his magic started creating ways to play with him. Gir's magic was visual, it only made you see what he made. The blind were immune his abilities but for those like warriors and assassins who relied on their eyes he was a terror. He waited silently, blendng into the wall and disappearing.

Gir'bran'ur wasn't really paying much mind to his surroundings...he was just looking forward to meeting the servant girl from earlier. She had suggested they meet in a deserted area of the House, and he had been up for it. So since his mind was on the ways he would be pleasured by her, he didn't even think about the illusionist being on the loose in his House.

He was nearly to the room, when something made him pause, probably instinct, and look around. The hairs on the back of his neck were standing at attention, bringing his mind back to where he was. He looked around uneasily, making sure that he was alone in the deserted hallway. He reached over and pulled his sword out of its scabbard, and held it at the ready. Something was wrong...and he had no clue what it was.

"Who's there?" He called out weakly, feeling as though a frog were stuck in his throat. He tried to clear his throat to get rid of the feeling, but it didn't help at all. Maybe he was becoming as paranoid as the matron was. Perhaps the madness was familial and he was starting to follow in the Matron's footsteps. The thought made him shudder. Gods he hoped he was wrong about that. If it was true, then Ad'hemar would be mad as well. Perhaps he was even plotting to ride himself of his siblings as well as the Matron so he could have rule of the entire holdings of the House. Such a thought would surely be ridiculous. Ad'hemar would never do such a thing.

Gir smiled, oh this would be fun. The male was nervous, which only made the game more interesting. Slowly he moved around, his footsteps easily heard. He could only create minor sounds, not muffle them. Looking up at the wall the male was turning toward and grinned. A bricks slowly began to work their way out of the wall about an inch. A black liquid with a red tint in the light slowly seeped out. The liquid began to form words.

".....play?....."

The liquid slittered back down the wall and onto the floor. Morphing up into a black silloette of Gir'bran'ur, the thing began to copy the male's movements. It put it's hand on a black sword that formed. It moved it's head to match the male's movement. It was like a shadow but made of liquid. Ripples echoing over it's body as it took steps, Gir'bran'ur's reflection painted it as he looked upon it.

Gir appeared behind the male, smiling in a way that would unnerve even the stone gollum. He watched the strange male, having never been told to actually play with someone. But he loved the idea. He would have to tell Lady Imordana about his game. For now, he waited for the male to respond to his question.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 06, 2009 1:57 pm

Gir'bran'ur started, his body trembling with fear as the bricks of the wall started moving out of their own accord. He was further distressed when a blackish red liquid began to slowly trickle out of the spaces, and then began to form letters.

P L A Y ?

Gir shrieked loudly, sounding almost like a girl, as he backed away from the liquid which was now moving across the floor towards him like some phantom ghoul. He shivered, brandishing his sword feebly as though trying to ward off the ghost thing in front of him. He was even more horrified when the creature took on the appearance of his own shadow...complete with the brandished sword. Then... it moved towards him, and he was horrified to see his reflection in the dark depths of the shadowy phantom.

With an almost earth shattering scream, Gir jumped and ran away for dear life, screaming as he ran. "It's going to kill me! Help!"

Gir'bran'ur ran but he didn't get far. As he approached the end of the hallway a brick wall stood in his path. It almost seemed it had been there forever, complete with little cobwebs in the corners. Gir giggled his childish giggle as he watched the man run. Ah this was fun. He nodded to the liquid shadow, who nodded back to him, then merrily walked toward the shrieking male. Oh the game was afoot. What could he do now? Ah yes, the male seemed to fear his elder. Lets play this game!

In a strange misty way, Gir took on the appearance of Ad'hemar. Now Gir could not immitate his voice so he simpy remained quiet. With hands behind his back he slowly walked towards Gir'ban'ur. The liquid creature melted away and disappeared. In it's place was the visage of Imordana, looking elegant and beautiful. This was Gir's mental image of her, lovely and amazing. He stood next to her, as the elder brother, in a way that signaled protection and affection. Even his hand was around her waist. Gir wasn't sure what the male's loyalties to his family were so what better way to find out than to present his siblings during a time of mental stress, when people were more likely to reveal their true nature.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 10, 2009 11:12 am

Gir'bran'ur let out a shriek of horror when he found himself caged in. He spun around, his sword gleaming in the dull light from the candlelight that flickered from the wall sconces. His heart was beating heavily in his chest, his breathing was becoming labored and his mental state was beginning to rise to the hysterical state. When he spun around and found much to his shock and outright horror Imordana and Ad'hemar standing together embracing he lost it.

He dove into them, his sword flashing and ready to wreck havoc on the two of them.
He should have known! The two of them had been working secretly together the whole time! Outrage and pure unadulterated hatred coursed through him, as he began to hack mercilessly at the two of them.

"Die die die!" He screamed over and over until his voice began to go hoarse.
For the first time in ages, Gir'bran'ur had truly lost his mind.

It had happened only once before, back when he had still been naught more than a teen and had taken his rage out on the unsuspecting House guardian. When he was in such a state, he forgot where he was, what he was doing and at the end of it, would utterly forget what had occurred, his mind becoming a blank slate, and would then collapse into a heap.

Finally having spent the rage and hatred, Gir'bran'ur pulled back, his hands trembling, and then promptly fainted dead away.

Gir couldn't help but laugh his little head nearly clean off at the sight of the frantic drow. He watched in merriment as Brother Gir screamed and waved his little sword. Brother Gir attacked the visage of his brother and sister before promptly passing out. Gir perched over the fallen drow as he lay unconcious and just smiled. Ah he would be so much fun. People who scared easily were fun and people who seemed paranoid were even more fun. The games he could play with this one would make his stay all the more enjoyable. He took out a small pencil he kept with him and started to draw little symbols all over Brother Gir's face. Once he was statisfied with his work of art Gir wandered back to his room where he fell into his almost comatose stupor.

He would awake in the morning to clean himself and make his bed. He made sure his new clothes were clean and wrinkling free. Finally he sat outside Lady Imordana's door and awaited his lady's presense. He had a fun tale to tell her.
