Ebony and Shiraz get Interviewed An Ice Cream Afternoon General interests article Only a few weeks after Valentine’s Day, what did you do on the date made to celebrate all that cupid bought to Gaia? Well, the latest research into family development was released yesterday suggested that there was a thirty percent increase in the amount of people who spent this precious day with family. Certainly, the local children’s attractions claimed it was a “roaring business day”.
On that note, our feature this week lead me to a busy Ice cream parlour on the edge of Barton town, which does the most delicious fudge cake I have ever tasted. There I met a Miss Ebony, and her sister, a young panda girl named Shiraz, who were out for the afternoon together. Between them, they have another two siblings, Lua and Sinny, and live with their uncle and Mother. While they may have a more uncommon family setup, Shiraz’s Uncle Bailey is reported to take both her, and Ebony out often to various places, the favourites being the “roller rink”, and the pool, so much so Shiraz reported that the “Pool was fun.”
They may not go out together as a family often due to “differ'nt interests”, but they still all eat together, which is a rare family tradition according to the recent research. Speaking fondly of each other, while these sisters may not have been biologically related, they shared a bond which was a pleasure to watch.
The only thing they didn’t share was young Shiraz’ interests in her sweet tooth, which perhaps was a good revelation, as Shiraz certainly seemed to love her mouthfuls of chocolate fudge cake!
Please continue to send in your letters, and stories, and we’ll publish the best sent in every week.
Emiko Pallone.

PD with Belle
Eilender & Belle The large yellow rose was fascinating to the little cow. Belle peered over the lush petals with wide eyes, astonished by how painfully beautiful it was. Eilender had warned her beforehand not to touch the stem, and lingered close by, watching the child explore the floral shop/nursery. The particular specimen was a shrub rose, displaying clusters of the bright yellow blossoms that stood out brightly against the tender leaves that poked through. Eilender had not only decided to take her to see the flowers, and maybe buy some, but to teach her the things she would need to know to tend her seeds. At the moment, it was simply how to recognize the flowers, which even he was learning through use of a guide. "That one is called Golden Celebration," he chimed, "It's a shrub rose, and takes a very long time to grow, so make sure you don't touch it, as it can be fragile. Here." Eilender kneeled down to one of the closer blossoms and indicated for her to get close. The girl followed his beckoning, admiring how the illustrious petals matched her sundress, and soon found a new appreciation. "It smells so good, Papa!" As soon as she got close, a strong, sweet smell of citrus was tangible from the flower. Belle leaned in to take in more of the rich fragrance before moving back a bit and waiting to see what else there was. Still within her father's sight, she moved a little further down the row of roses, poking her head around the end corner in curiosity.
Ebby Ebony Morgan was happily bouncing into that same floral shop/nursery just about that time. Her hair was back in to long braids under a lovely white bandana. The purple child was in overalls today, looking about for some flowers for their garden. She and her siblings had decided that with a property as big as theirs, a garden was necessary and probably a good idea for something as a bonding activity. As the spawn cheerily wandered among the flowers to see what there was, she spotted something even more interesting. "Awwwww! You're a coooow! That's so cute!" the little girl exclaimed and immediately rushed over to say hi to Belle.
Belle While anyone else would have probably been weirded out a little by the enthusiasm, Belle smiled wide at the girl and waved. "Thank you! My name is Belle! What's yours?"
Ebby "I'm Ebby! Nice to meet you! Can I hug you?" the purple spawn was exceptionally excitable today, her white wings fluttering up and down behind her as she looked at the cow child and her fluffy little tail and soft fuzzy skin.
Belle Belle nodded and opened her arms wide. "I would like a hug very much, Ebby!" The eagerness couldn't have been more genuine. The soft cow ears wiggled happily and and her little tail flicked back and forth at what seemed a million miles a minute. She liked this new person!
Ebby The older child put her arms around the fluffy little bovine and picked her up a bit as she did, snuggling the toddler. "You're so sweet!" Ebony proclaimed as she snugged her, wrapping her soft wings around to brush the tips of the feathers over the other girl's arms.
Belle Belle cuddled into her gently, uttering a happy little moo before noticing the wings as they trailed her arms. "My goodness gwacious! You have such pwetty wings! They'we so soft to!" The girl was careful not to muss them as she reached up to gently touch one of the feather tips, letting it go on its way after admiring it.
Ebby The girl giggled a bit. "Thankyou. They're from my one DNA-Mommy - she's an angel." the elder child explained with a smile.
Belle The child was confused but smiled sweetly regardless. "What's a DNA? Awe angels a type of biwrdie?" It was obvious that she hadn't quite learned the concept of religion yet, nor what in the world an angel was supposed to be. It had wings though, didn't it? So it very well might be a type of bird!
Ebby Ebony broke into a few more giggles at that. "DNA means your blood and stuff - it's what makes you look like you and all that. And Angels are special people. They come from another place and are supposed to be really really good and have wings and stuff. My DNA-Mommy is a Kindness angel. She's really really nice."
Belle Belle looked absolutely amazed, thinking about what sort of people angels must be. "Youw momma must be vewwy pwetty, like you!" The girl looked back towards where her father was keeping an eye on her from a distance and looked him over a bit before deciding he wasn't an angel - although he was pretty! She looked back up at Ebby and wiggled her ears a bit in thought as she remembered why she was here. "Do you like flowers to, Ebby?"
Ebby "Yep! I like all sorts of things! What kinds of flowers do you like the best, Belle?" the older girl asked, bouncing the child a little on her hip. She was used to carrying pudgy toddlers - her sister was a panda, afterall.
Belle The child pointed at the roses, a particular one catching her eye. "I like dose! They'we so pwetty, and Papa says I can put them in my gawden!"
Ebby Ebby grinned when she looked at them. "They ARE pretty! I'm sure they'll look very nice with your other plants. My brothers and I are starting a garden too. I came to pick out plants today." the older girl explained.
Belle Belle inclined her head little, happy but curious. "What sorts of flowers do you like, Ebby? And how do you pick? Thewe a` so many!"
Ebby "Oh I don't know. I sort of like all of them a bit. I'm trying to pick things that will grow nicely together and that my brothers and sister won't mind." she explained, walking a bit more towards the flowers again with the girl. "Where shall we look first, Belle?"
Belle & Eilender Picking a path with LOTS of colors in it, she pointed. "Thewe!" Eilender had noticed them moving farther away and began following at a distance, leaving the child to socialize but still keeping her within his sight. After all, he didn't need her getting lost or into a plant she shouldn't. However, Belle seemed well behaved enough to know better and resisted the urge of picking any nearby flower blossoms as they moved. "How do ya know what goes togethew, Ebby? Is it a special twick?"
Ebby "Based on color and asking the workers for for help. Workers here are supposed to know about the plants so they can take care of them and answer people's questions. So they can tell me what can and can't grow near each other and stuff." the girl explained with a nod. Glancing back and seeing Eilender, she smiled and waved. Though, given her eyes didn't open, he couldnt' quite see the glancing except for in her head turning. "Is that your Daddy?"
Belle Eilender waved back, smiling at the child. Belle nodded to the query, waving back to her dad. "Yep! That's my Papa! He's so nice to me! And my othew Daddy is to, but he's not hewe."
Ebby "Aaah, that's really nice. It's good that your fathers are nice." Ebony murmured, leading the tot into the row of colorful flowers she'd been directed to. "Wow, these are all so nice. Help me pick out a few?"
Belle Belle eagerly began pointing to a couple in her favorite colors. The combination seemed to be a soft yellow, white, brighter shade of yellow, and then a mixture of orange/pink tone. "I like these! Which ones do you like?"
Ebby "I like them all. Though maybe the organy one will go best. I was thinking of geting some more yellowy and pink flowers and we already got a bunch of white ones to start out so this should go nice with it." Ebby replied, leaning over to look at the name on the flower, but still keeping her distance.
Belle The little sign read 'Flamenco Sunset Carnation'. It seemed to suit the thing, as the ruffles fluidly fell into one another, spreading out into whispy frills on the very end. Belle nodded in agreement to the combo. "It'll be gowgeous! What else should we get?"
Ebby "Hmmmmm I don't know. Maybe something blue and purple? Then we could have a rainbow flower garden." Ebby told the child, mentally jotting down which plant she wanted to get.
Belle Belle looked around before noticing some rather round looking flowers that looked a lot like pom-poms. "What about those?" She pointed towards what she meant, wondering at what in the world they were supposed to be. They were pretty enough and looked like they came in a lot of different colors, including blue and purple.
Ebby Ebony smiled gently at Belle and nodded, carrying the girl around the store some more to look at flowers and pick things out. After a while, they had a bunch of neat plants picked out and the purple child had to return her new friend to her father. However, she was sure to promise Belle that they'd meet up again. Such a sweet little thing.

It would be on a Saturday that you open your mail box (if you have one) and notice there is a rather thick envelope stuffed in there. There is no postage stamp and a very vague return address. But you recognize the font and the company's name. 'Seven of Seven Inc' scrawled in majestic font across the upper left hand corner. As you open it, you may strangely find yourself drawn to the letter, there is a mass of notes inside. They read as follows:
Letter Congratulations! You have managed to succeed in raising your child. (IE: Not killing him or her or getting killed yourself. Haha we kid of course.) We would like an update from you on the following: Guardians Name: Child's Name: Sin: Virtue: Gender: Current Attitude: Likes: Dislikes: Any abnormal growths: (if any, example: Feathers molting, horns growing larger, scars ) Current hair style: Current clothing preferences: Dominant celestial trait: (The sin or virtue) Please summarize in your own words how difficult or easy it was taking care of your child. Did you manage to care for them in a kindly fashion? Or were you forced to discipline them? As well do not be alarmed if you suddenly find your child achieving a massive growth spurt in the next little while. We are finding that the children from our facility have strange growing patterns and are rather unpredictable. Although please let us know if anything unexpected occurs. Sincerely the technicians from Seven of Seven Inc. Ps. Please just leave your letter back in your mail box one you have completed it our courier will pick it up. Thank you.
You would notice the letter seems overly friendly...strange since the scientist were so ...cold before.
(Just take the from Guardians name to Dominant Celestial trait and pm it to the mule, the summarization doesn't have to be long just have fun with it.)

Growth and Responsability Ebby grows and decides to get a job If there’s one thing that in life is always the same is that time goes on. It had seemed barely five months ago when Ebony Morgan was arriving in the Dartsmoore household a sweet little toddler, and already she was a preteen. The purple girl sighed contentedly as she stretched out on her bed and thought over these changes.
Instead of being the cuddly little toddler hanging on her mother or brother’s hand, she was an older child who could go out on her own and make several of her own decisions. One of these was that she should get a job of some kind. Bailey – the eldest – didn’t have an official job, and instead just did whatever people required of him. Kahlua and Absinthe were still physically young and weren’t able to work, and neither was Shiraz. Uncle Charlie and Mama were both rich and would support their children but that didn’t mean it wasn’t a good idea to try to find some work now and get a handle on the responsibility matter.
This left the spawn wondering what sorts of things she could do. They’d have to be small as she didn’t have time for fulltime work and had limited useful skills. She could cook and clean and had decent balance at the very least – this opened up waitressing and cooking at places. But most of those types of jobs went to older kids didn’t they? People who were allowed to work longer hours and whatnot, they were the ones who went for those jobs. So that was out.
Next up was something that would revolve around her interest in dance. She wasn’t good enough to teach it, or teach singing, and she was also not skilled enough to do them as a career either. And though her social skills were superb, there weren’t that many jobs which liking most every person you’ve ever met and giving lots of hugs was a qualification. What could she do?
It was Dartie who actually ended up giving her the real realization in the end. It seemed that Charlie was out, Bailey was taking Sinny and Kahlua to some function for boys or another, and the pomped woman wanted to head to the bar. This left someone in need of watching Shiraz, which the purple skinned female was more than capable of.
“You open to watch your sister tonight, Ebbs?” the woman called from her doorway.
“Hm? Yeah sure, Ma.” The girl said, sitting up on her elbows and smiling. And then…it hit her. “That’s it!”
“What is?” the older female asked from the doorway, just turning away from it.
“The job I can do! I can babysit for people! I’ve watched kids before – I keep an eye on Shiraz a bunch, and I helped keep an eye on that little girl I met in the flower shop for a while. I think I could do it!” the preteen said, hopping up excitedly.
Dartsmoore smirked, amused, “All right. Put an ad in the paper then.” She suggested before leaving the girl to her own devices to work on the ad in question and get ready to watch her sister. Yes this was surely going to be interesting all right.
The next day, soon as the paper opened, the black haired girl was waltzing in to present her ad and pay the fee to have it run. She’d given the number of her new cell phone (a gift from Dartie since the woman had a feeling she’d want to be keeping track of her own contacts and since she had so many friends who would probably want to chat) and went about her life. The girl had no idea when requests would start but knew better than to just wait by the phone. When requests came in, they would come in.
