Kyoku was now surrounded by by a flurry of young young faces in the middle of such a serious moment and she couldnt help but start laughing softly.
"Come here mameo-chan..." she reached out and took the younger girls hand in hers and pulled her closer to the door. "Ok everyone listen up. I am Kyoku-san, i am the head geisha here. I am here to help you get along with this life you have been put into. Mitsuo, Yokome, Iyasu, Midori, Mameo, and Momo, the new maiko of this okiya." Kyoku's warm, loving smile returned to her bright face.
"I think everyone is here now so lets get you all settled in room, ne? Mameo will be in this room and..hmmm....Mitsuo will share with here. You both will have the first room on the left. The second room on the left will go to Midori and Yokome ok? After that room is my room. The first room on the right can be Momo and Iyasu then, and Tsumomo our other maiko has the second room to the right, after that is mother's room across from mine. The rules here are simple. Behave, do what your asked, pay close attention to your studies. Besides that, you will learn whats expected of you as time goes along."
Kyoku took a deep breath as she looked at the nervous faces. "Why dont you all get settled now then, meet your new sisters."

Kikaru entered the okiya quietly, she had just been sent here as a new maiko. Seeing no one about, she waited patiently for someone to come and greet her.

Kyoku heard the nearly silent sound of someone coming inside the okiya, and she quickly went down the polished stairs, leaving the girls behind to organize themselves.
"Hello? Oh hello, have you been sent to the okiya as a maiko or a maid?" Kyoku walked softly towards the younger girl, smiling.

Midori turned and watched as the geisha hurried down the stairs, then once she was gone, turned to look at the other maiko in the hall. They all seemed as nervous as she did, and for some reason, this was comforting to her.
At least I'm not the only one scared speechless, she thought, then turned to address the girl who would be her new roommate. With a slight bow to Yokome, and tried to force a smile; it wasn't that Midori was forcing herself to be friendly, it's just that she was so nervous she wasn't quite sure if she could smile.
"Hajime mashite," she said softly to Yokome, keeping her eyes pointed to the ground.

"Maiko..." Kikaru glanced up at Kyoku and bowed politely. Her small bag with a few extra sets of clothes and a carefully packed kimono, and hair pieces. "...I appologize, I was told that I am already later than the others."

She watched as her teacher and head Geisha head down the stairs in a slight rush. Even when she hurried herself, she seemed to have grace of a falling sakura blossum.
Iyasu wrenched her dreamy gaze away from the door and began to look for maiko known as Momo. However, since she came late and did not know who everyone else was, it would prove to be rather difficult to find Momo. With this in mind, she decided it would be best to go to their room and sort herself out there while she waited for Momo to appear.
As she left the group she smiled to her fellow maiko and made note on how each of them was nervous, just like her. She wanted to remember how nervous they were on their first day at the okiya and how nervous they would be when they make their debute as Geisha.

Kyoku smiled warmly "No need to worry, you havent missed much." She chirped. "There is one upstairs bed left for you, so please come with me up the stairs, you can meet the other new maiko." Nodding she beckoned Kikaru to follow her with a fluid wave of her hand.

Kikaru bowed again. "Thank you." She slipped her outside shoes off, picked up her bag and followed Kyoku.

Xxangel_of_musicxX Mameo nodded sliently, her hair came undone and fell about her face, and showed wisps of red in her hair. Then her eyes got wide and she ran off to her room.

Mitsuo watched as everyone gasped at her roomate's red hair. "I don't see what the problem is with red hair. I mean, I have red hair, and people think it's cool. I love her hair. All said with the utmos respect, of course," she announced as she walked in on the scene. She ran after her new roommate after she ran from Kyoku's room, and hid in the shadows after she observed the whole thing at the sink. AAhhh... she thought to herself, So THAT"S why she ran from Kyoku's room. I wonder why she's so ashamed of her hair. I think it's beautiful. She then followed her through the hallway and came upon this scene.

She turned toward to one whom she assumed was Momo. Iyasu ** bowed to her fellow maiko and sister.
"Konnichiwa, Momo-chan. I'm Iyasu, Iy-chan for short." She returned the smile softly while she took a few steps toward her new room mate, "Which bed would you like?"

Ryoko adjusted the comb in her hair and smiled at her reflection. She could almost pass as tame with her wide-eyed appearance. She didn't quite know any of the other girls yet, so she was still feeling a bit shy whenever she awoke the next day in her Okiya all by herself in her room. So far, Ryoko was the only maid that they had recruited and was working her way up to becoming a maiko.

((for reference, we have one bathroom downstairs, no sinks or such in ouor rooms 3nodding ))
Kyoku smiled and picked up the towel calmly. "Kikaru, your room is this one here, second room to the right." She motioned down the hall and then turned to Mameo. "Come with me Mameo-chan, i'll help you with your hair." with a calm look o her face she took Mameo's hand and led her down the hall to her private bedroom.
