Gendo Son of Godif anyone cares...which they dont seem to.....not a very gendo loving crowd....But its still really funny none the less. I need to make a gendo amv...i need the dvd's to get good enough quality footage though. I made a really crappy eva amv not worth mentioning a while back and put it on that site.....i think i called it Evangelion Radio or sumthing.....dont waste ur time on it.....

Asuka is bitchy, but it's due to her depression.
Rei can't be helped, since she's not "real" human.
Gendo had weakness also... He actually said sorry to Yui and Shinji when 3rd Impact was going on
Yui killed herself for a reason...
I don't get Asuka's mother, at all, though...
Fuyayuki was... just doing his job, I guess. He was closer to Shinji then Gendo was in a way.
Misato was "guardian" of Shinji and Asuka. Now we can't hate her much for that...
that's only ones I can think of now.
but here's my fav.: Shinji
Non-favorite: Asuka.

TheMessiah im gonna completely dissect that when i get some sleep w00t. I'm actually scared crying xd well g'night... -here's continuing of my list Ritsuko was smart... but she was exactly like her mom... so... I didn't understanded Kaji's role much, except that he was in part of "Third Impact" by bringing "Adam" Toji is just stubborn character. I feel kinda sorry for what happened to him, though Kensuke wasn't bad. He helped Shinji when he was depressed ALOT. Kaoru was one of the best character. Too bad it ended up like that... and I still have no clue what's up with putting up a Penguin in there (Pen Pen)

Don't forget that people do crazy/stupid/evil things when they get lonely. Most of the characters are lonesome to the core. This is probably why I'm not a big fan of Ritsuko. She's lonely for the most part (cats are not people) and because of this, so goes into whore mode, hoping to get some sort of human interaction.

yeah the three main characters where pretty much screwed over. shinji, asuka, and rei. really just asuka and shinji. then theirs misato, she didn't talk for a freakin year. or was it two.

The character of favorite...ness: Rei Ayanami
Reason: Since I pretty much liked ALL the characters, picking a favorite for me is more like a chore than a pleasure. Rei's mysterious background and character just intrigued me more than the other characters. I definately have a little "fanboy" affilliations towards her...and her smile and eyes sold me! ^_^
Gendo bashing:
Maybe I should start a "Be Kind to Gendo" thread...hmm...I will say though, that all the reasons stated here for not liking him are valid ones. My theories on his actions are already posted here, so there's not much sense in stating them again. biggrin
Rei slapping:
I have to look at this from the Japanese way of thinking. No, I don't think she is a "b***h" for doing what she did...I think Shinji got a wake up call. (another interesting idea is that since Rei is a clone of Yui, maybe the motherly instincts kicked in, thus leaving Shinji with a sore cheek) Rei was pretty much acting as Shinji's mother in this case. If an oriental child says what Shinji said in front of their mother or father about their mother or father, they would be slapped and scolded. It is a sign of terrible disrespect and childishness to talk bad about one's parents in the Orient, and the parents (not to mention other authority figures) are very quick to correct children in their thoughts. Basically...in Shinji's case...it was a way of reminding him that like it or not, Gendo was his father, no matter how he treated him.

I also have a slight fangirlish reaction to Kaworu. sweatdrop
He is easy to talk to, never loses his temper, he's a musician, very mature for his age, constantly smiling and he can FLY. wink
Kaworu and Rei are my two favorite characters overall. They are very interesting to compare and contrast.
Least favorite? Hmmm....Makoto and Aoba kinda annoy me a little bitty bit but not enough to say I loathe him. I don't hate them. I guess I don't find their characters that interesting.

I dunno, I kinda admired Hyuga when he wasn't afraid to nuke NERV when Kaoru broke through the heaven's gate. Also, he seemed to be more knowledgeable about SEELE's actions than the other lieutenants. He supported Misato all the way, probably because he believe in her abilities, not just because of his crush.

Oh yes, I get to rant on why I like Maya.
Believe it or not, there is more to my obsessing than she is teh secks. (though that is definately a helpful plus ^____^)
In my mind, Maya is a symbol of sanity in the nerv organazation. She's a innocent pawn in their twisted organization. She gets sick when sick s**t is happening, and she refuses/can't kill other humans even when under attack. Some people think this makes her weak, but I think it is proof of her being a genuine good person. She also seems to care about the pilots when they're fighting, and she barely knows them as far as we know. She doesn't like the idea of anyone getting hurt, regardless of who they are. Further proving she's a pretty good person. That's something that's lacking of most of the other characters. They're not horrible people, but they all have huge major things wrong with them. Not saying I hate them because they're screwed up, I love that too, but the idea of innocence surviving while surrounded by s**t is very appealing to me.
A much lesser reason, but still a reason, is that she is a lesbian, which makes me giddy. I had the other reason before I even knew that though haha.

Maya could so 'heal' Ritsuko, even though she wasn't nearly as messed up as some of the other characters.... And I agree with the three techies being pretty good people... I don't know why I'm not so fond of the other two... maybe because they're not quite on the same level.

Well, either way, I really felt for all of them. They were just trying to help make the world a better place.
But it's probably true about Maya and Ritsuko. All Akagi needed was a non-manipulative person who she could actually trust and such.
I'm positive that Maya is capable of being that good of a friend to her.
