Rusty shifted, looking uncomfortable.
"I hadn't found a new church thinthe I left my old one." He said softly. so scared.

"Well, you're always welcome here," James said softly. He sensed fear, although he wasn't certain why. Time to tone down the intense awesome!

"Well, that's the problem with a lot of places," James said, mouth screwing up, "Just about anyone can become a preacher, and a lot of them preach fear and hatred. That's...not right."

"But there's so much good in the world, Rusty," James said, smile returning, "So much. Here we like to preach hope and love and acceptance. Preaching fear is terrorism."

James nodded, brow furrowing. "You've been hurt in the past, Rusty. I can tell," he said sadly, "I'm positive Shiloh will do everything he can do make it right for you." Shiloh smiled. Also a proud man!

"He knows me already." A voice from a side door. Familiar. Deep. Gravelly. Vic walked out, drying his hands on a towel. He gave Rusty a little wink.
"Hey, Rust."
"Huh!" James commented, "Small world!"

Vic approached, shoving the towel in his pocket. He crouched and held Rusty's chin between two fingers.
"You're doin' good."
And then he stood and left. Hrm!

Rusty looked up to watch him go, shifting. He was trying, Vic. Trying very very hard. He bit his lower lip and looked down at the ground, trying not to cry.
