ContinueDiehard_Dreamer Aphrodite blinked shaking her head, she was kinda glad she wasn't noticed by the spider. Though she wanted Salem to notice her so she decided to speak up from her high perch. "Uncle Salem!" She said clearly, her cutesy tone had changed, but it was still the same Aphrodite. The once 3 inch tall toddler had grown into a 5 inch tall kid. She flew up from her mother's head, and towards Salem. Clutching tightly her beloved friend Al, she made sure she was out of Cato's reach. "Look Uncle Salem I grew! I grew!" She blushed.
The plump witch laughed a bit as she pushed herself into the pool, wading her way towards Cato and Salem. She tickled Cato's belly to perk up his mood.
Nariko wiggled out of Baxterfullous's grasp and nearly out of her bloomers. " Ha ha! " She wiggled, toddling over to her mother's discarded bag, searching for her unflated innertube. Kicking off her shoes she ran over to her mothe, knowing better than to ask the agigitated catfolk. "Mama.. I wanna swim with you guys." She said holding up the limp plastic donut.
Garreth happily dogpaddled his way around Pink and Tam. "My name's Garreth! I'm a dragon." He grinned a bit. "That's my mama." He pointed towards Catherine, the short haired woman in the skirted one piece bathing suit. "That's my big little sister Aphrodite." He pointed towards the flying wasp Mishap. ".. That's my older, but younger than Aphrodite, sister.. her name is Nariko." He pointed to the stark white toddler, with long black hair and blue lips. "... And that's Uncle Bax!" He grinned pointing to the tall pale catfolk.
"... Charmed." He said stiffly as he pulled out his shirt, revealing his pale toned chest. Not taking another moment to respond he jumped into th deep end. pinkdog Pink looked to each as they were introduced, via Garreth. It was a peculiar mix, to say the least. He wondered, vaguely, if the two cat folk were at all related, both being so close to the same person, as it were.
But he was not quite at liberty to make small talk just then. Carefully, he pulled Tam, rubber unicorn innertube and all, away from his chest. Her little legs kicked, half out of the water. "You ready to swim some more?"
Tam nodded and was set back into the floaty blueness. Steering well clear of the woman holding the crazy grey boy, Tam did her best to direct her floating unicorn in Gareth's direction. "'Ragon," she murmured, one of her green little hands reaching out toward him. It was difficult to catch a moving reptile when she couldn't get the tube to bring her anywhere she wanted.
"Kick your legs, darling, kick your legs. There you go." With that, keeping a closer watch on her, Pink waded over toward the other two adults. "Nice to meet you... Ah, I don't think I got your name." He smiled at Catherine, trying not to think of how wet he felt. Ugh, how he despised the water. Salem Von Montegue "Hmmm? Oh! Well, look at you! Aph you're getting to be a big girl now!" He smiled up at the tiny child sweetly. Wow... Aph was a kid already! How time flew... He smiled weakly as Cath came over to him with Cato in tow. "Heh... And I was hoping today would just be a quiet swimming lesson." He laughed at himself as he picked Cato up out of the tube and held him close, draping his sopping wet tail over the now empty inner tube to keep it from floating away. "Cato... You really need to learn to be nice. If you keep this up, no one's going to like you! Don't you want friends...?"Cato blinked at that. Friends...? He didn't have any... Well... He had that strange egg that he liked to cuddle that Catherine gave him, but... Aside from that... He... He wanted friends... His pretty emerald eyes started to tear up as that dawned on him. He... He had no friends... "C... Cato wants friends..." The little one whimpered softly the tears starting to trickle down his cheeks now... "Cato no 'ave any... I.... I waaaannn..." Salem bit his lower lip. s**t... He hadn't meant to caught little Cato to cry either! He cuddled his little one close, kissing the top of his head. "Shhh... It's okay Cato... You have your Daddy right? I'm your firend..."Cato sniffled softly, but he didn't look like he felt any better...The blonde catfolk looked over as Garreth introduced everyone. How cute. Wait... 'Uncle Bax'...? What was he talking about? The old goat wasn't... Oh my God... That couldn't be... He waited for the other catfolk to come up, staring at him wide eyed. "Uncle Bax...? Is that you old man...? What...? How...? You were a cat, what, a couple of days ago! How the He...?!" He slowly smiled however. As crabby as his uncle was, he was the only family Salem actually had left and knew very well what this meant to his uncle. "What happened old man?! This is wonderful!" Diehard_Dreamer Aphrodite frowned, she didn't like seeing people cry. Biting her lip she wondered if this was a good idea. "I'm your friend Cato." She said with a smile, though a bit weary. " And so is Al." She said, still out of his reach.
Nariko blinked. "I'm friend too- nah." She then tried to blow up her own intertube, failing horribly.
"I'mma friend! .. and I'maa boy-ant." Garreth cried out happily, his tail splashing about. He offered it to Tam, seeing if she wanted to hold on to it as he swam. "You can tell me where you wanna go. I'll be the cho-fur." He giggled sweetly.
Catherine blinked, sighing. She leaned forward givign the spider-msiap an eskimo kiss. "It's ok Cato, you'll make friends soon. You just need to be a bit.. nicer." She smiled. "I'm your friend Cato." She said happily. "... Why don't you try not claiming everything... you know some kids aren't as lucky are you are... Some kids don't have any toys or homes, how would feel if you were like that?"
Baxterfullous resurfaced, eyeing Salem and everyone else from the far side of the pool. "It's a short yet, detailed filled story.. I'll talk about it later." He said, his eyes falling over Pink. Looking him up and down.

Continuepinkdog Zuleika had no idea what a "boy-ant" or "cho-fur" was, but she accepted the tail eagerly. She grasped it, wide-eyed, squeezing in an experimental fashion. It had no fur on it like Ike's did, so there was nothing she could lick at. Or was there? The little Croc lowered her snout, long tongue lolling out to lick the dragon's scales curiously. She was oblivious to the sounds of Cato's crys or the various votes of confidence springing up from several directions around the pool.
Pink was glad to see Tam getting on. He had no fear of her biting Gareth; he was more worried about her biting through her innertube. His attention wandered back to the circle of adults, but he found them all doting on the spider Mishap. All for one. He could feel the heat of someone's gaze on him, and not the curious kind gaze of a small creature. Slowly, he turned his head in Baxterfullous's direction, returning the steadily unflinching gaze.
He had heard the cynical, shortcut sound of the other's voice as he spoke to the others and the littler creatures. Now, staring across at the good looking, uke-ish appearance of the cat.. shifter, he supposed... it sent him back a few years.
The scales didn't have a particularly unique taste to them, as far as scales went. There was a rather sharp, strange tange to it, that seemed unfitting. "You taste funny," she mused aloud. Her little fingers squeezed again, and gently shook his tail. "Round!" She demanded finally, forgetting about the taste. The command could have been interrpretted as many things, but it was the desire to be lead around the length of the pool that she wished to communicate. Salem Von Montegue Cato blinked teary eyes up at Aph as she spoke. Oh... her... So much for crying. He frowned and hissed at her loudly before speaking. "Bug! Stupid, stupid bug!" He reached up and tried to swat the little wasp, but she had been wise enough to stay out of his reach. He ignored the little snow fairy completely. He remembered her. The bug said mean things to him, but that one hit him! He didn't like her! Cato looked over at Garreth for a moment. Well the big lizard wasn't so bad. He was always nice to Cato, but... Cato still didn't like him too much... He was too whiney and always told on everyone... Now he looked up at Catherine. She was okay too... "If Cato like that, Cato take what he need like Cato always has!" He retorted. He was quite proud of himself for that in fact. The odd thing was that the way he said that it sounded like he'd been doing it for such a long time... How odd...The scruffy cat-man couldn't help but laugh softly at that one. He looked back over at the other cat as he spoke however, nodding slightly and droping the subject. Wait... Was... Was Uncle Bax checking Pink out? Oh... That was too cute. He smirked, but made no comment. He didn't want to spoil it for him. Diehard_Dreamer Catherine blinked she knew what that sounded like... but she didn't want to talk about that yet. It did remind her of somethign she wanted to talk to Salem about, turning her attention to bit she waved a bit. "My name's Catherine." She nodded a small bow followed suit.
Aphrodite sighed, she knew she'd had to make it up to Cato somehow... but what her mother said made her think. "If.. that happened to me... I want to help out other people who were like that.. and make them feel better." She said, hovering in place.
' Very good answer.' Anastay answered quietly int he back of Aphrodite's mind.
Aphrodite merely smiled, nuzzling her face into Al. Seeing how that everyone else was splashing in the water, she flew off towars the side, placing Al safely from the water. "I don't want you to get wet, kay?"
'Thanks... If I go into the water I might sink.' The gray plushie responded telepathically.
"I'll be back!" She waved, flying back to where everyone else was, deciding it was better to stay away from Cato at this point she decided to interact with the other Croc-Mishap. "Hi!" She smiled, as she landed on the young dragon's back. "My name's Aphrodite!"
Garreth cooed and giggled as soon as his tail was liked. "Hehe.. Ok round we go go!" He began to dog paddle his way around the pool, making circles around Baxterfullous, and a few circles around Pink. He then proceeded to go around the length of the pool. "Faster Tammie? Faster Dite?"
Nariko blinked and shrugged, tossing the deflated innertube to the side she proceeded to daintedly make her way into the shallow end of the pool at least until she was waist deep. "Oo.."
Baxterfullous laughed as he watched the rather enthusiastic dragon circle around him. "Now be careful." He attnetion wavered from the hyena-shifter, as he dunked himself underwater resurfacing a few feet away. pinkdog Pink watched, pleased, as his girl played nice with Garreth an the wasp Mishap. He gave a small laugh as the unicorn bobbed by him. When they'd gone, he nodded his greeting to Catherine, "Pink." Unintentionally, he searched for Bax out of the corner of his eye.
Sharp eyes peered down at the five inch wasp. It might have been a vast improvement for Aphrodite, but five inches was still quite tiny to Tam.
"Why you so small?" Tam had never seen a wasp before, and thus didn't recognize the signature black and gold stripped tail. She was surely a peculurarity.
Garreth had started swimming, as she had asked him to do, vying for Tamary's attention. Zuleika was laughing. "Fastrr! Fastrr!" She held onto Garreth's tail with both hands, arms wrapped around the neck of her unicorn's head as she leaned foward, "riding" it through the water.

ContinueSalem Von Montegue Cato was starting to get bored now and wanted to go play, pulling at the tube and trying to get himself in again. Salem smiled and relented, putting him back in. "You have to behave now Cato or you'll be put in time out, alright?" Making sure he had a sure grip before he let the little one go, he gave the spider mishap a little push.Cato smiled happily as he bobbed away and again he started to move himself with his main arms along with his back arms. He looked around with all four double eyes as he decided where to paddle himself to. For right now he just wandered around the pool aimlessly. Diehard_Dreamer "Mama! Say!" Nariko whined. "Can you fill it? I wanna swim too." She pouted sitting on the first step i the shallow end, now holding her deflated tube. She looked ready to cry.
Catherine blinked, turning around to face Nariko. "Oh sweetie!" She sighed, picking up her daughter from the step. "It's alright. Shh.. no tears." She nuzzled.
Nariko smiled abit, glad to receive the attention, splashing Salem and then Catherine.
"Salem can you fill her innertube?" Catherine asked, looking to him with a smile. "I can't, since I hurt my cheeks when I try to even blow up a balloon."
Aphrodite blinked looking at herself, trying to think of an answer. "I'm small cuz I'm made that way." She explained, she never really thought about it.
Garreth smiled as he swam faster, using his legs mostly. Eyeing Cato, he swam towards him stopping as soon as he reached the spidermishap. "Cato do you want to play train?" The dragon smiled at him, he wasn't as whiney as he used to be. "You can be the conductor and I can be the engine. And Tammie and Dite can be the peoples on the train... and I'll push you and you can tell me where to go!" He giggled a bit with a smile.
Baxterfullous re-emerged at the edge of the pool, pulling himself out and laid on the floor. He kept a single eye open, watching the children as the played. pinkdog The Crocodile Mishap looked up at Aphrodite. After a second, she nodded. Made sense! Zuleika didn't really know why she was the size she was so she supposed it was just the way she was made too.
Tammary's giggles went quiet as they approached the bobbing spider Mishap. She still wasn't sure she wanted to play with him very much, but she wouldn't fuss, not if he stayed clear of her. She wondered what it meant to "play train". Salem Von Montegue Salem laughed softly as he was splashed, taking the inner tube. "Alright, I'll do it, Babe." With that he started to blow into it, slowly inflating it.Cato blinked as the dragon came to him, watching curiously. "Cun... Duck... Tore...?" That went right over his head. He knew what a train was though... Hesitantly he nodded, but instaed of sitting back and letting himself get pushed he suddenly clung to the young dragon's face, starting to climb his way up with his sticky hands. "Ah!" Diehard_Dreamer "Mpphhh!" Garreth flailed as Cato clung. "Mmmhmmm... mmmmm!!!"Aphrodite blinked as Cato began his ascent up Garreth's face. "What are you doing? You're gonna make him drown!" The littlest mishap frown, shaking her little fists at the spider mishap.Nariko clapped happily. "Yay, thank you Uncle Say-lum." She smiled up at him then hid her face in her mother's chest.Catherine smiled at Salem. "Thank you... I want to talk to you .. like I said.. but I don't know how to say it..""Dite's got a PREET-IEE lay-dee in her head" Nariko chirped, pointing to her forehead. pinkdog Pink watched the toddlers in their train. Everything seemed fine and Zuleika looked happy enough, now that things had calmed down. However, once the wiley spider Mishap joined, Pink shifted to attention. Sensing trouble, his fears were soon realized once Cato started climbing up Garreth's face. Reaching out, Pink scooped Tammary from the line, swinging her around to make her giggle. "Ah, come on hun, I think that's enough for now. Let's go give you a bath, hmm?" Giving a short smile and a nod towards Catherine and Salem, he murmured goodbye, "Nice to meet you both. Tam and I are going to head out. Have a good swim." He smiled again at the toddlers as they squeeled.

February 14, 2006 Activity: Valentine's Day breakfast
- - - - - - - - - - -
Though the day had little personal meaning to Pink, he wanted to make Tamary's first Valentine's Day a little special. If anything, she might think of it as another day to celebrate life. Or eat good food.
In the morning, he pulled himself out of bed with minimal stumbling, took a shower, and got dressed. In Tamary's room, the main room, Pink shuffled through her dresser for clothes. He cound an appropriate shirt and matching pants. Tamary was rather fond of the color pink - go figure - and thus it was not terribly hard to find festive clothing. He layed out for a her a pair of red satin-like pants that clung around the ankles, and a pink shirt decorated in 8-cm outlined satin red hearts.
Perhaps because she had heard him moving around, Tamary was already awake. She was usually early to wake, not fussy about losing a little sleep. She peered over at him in her curious, quiet way, chewing away at Lion's back leg. Pink scooped her up and placed her on the ground.
Tamary took Lion out of her mouth, giving Pink her full attention. She could tell he was up to something, just because of the bouncy way he moved. His tail was swishing about in with a sort of nervous energy. "Peeeeenk?" She asked him curiously. Not even she really knew what it was she was asking.
Instead, Pink handed her the clothes with a cheerful, "Morning". Zuleika looked at them, then reached out and took them from him. Dropping Lion, she carefully put down the shirt, and focused on the pants. The red material they were made of was soft, (though much more durable than it looked) and Zuleika liked how it felt against her fingers.
Pink was picking her up again, along with the shirt on the ground. She knew what was coming, and watched over her shoulder as he carried her into his room. Laying her on the bed, he pulled up her white sleepy shirt, and his fingers went to her diaper. Tam had long since become bored with such daily routines, and her gaze wandered. Pink's room was rather bare, particularly when compared to the embelishment of her own room. He liked things simple.
Feeling the wetness of the old cloth diaper disappearing, Tam looked down. Pink was reaching for a clean white cloth diaper that he had already set out. Practice had made the proceedure quick, and he wrapped it around her and pinned it up. Zuleika slid off the bed, ready to run back to her room and play. She had already forgotten about the clothes when she felt Pink pick her back and plop her onto the bed. "Was for?" She complained, pouting slightly.
Pink picked up the pants she had dropped while he had been changing her. She calmed a bit, though still looked more interested in the door. Pink didn't bother giving her the pants to put on, but put them on her for her. The shirt he started for her, letting her stick her arms through herself, and helping her pull it down over her snout. She looked rather adorble.
Cocking her head with a questioning shrill, Zuleika asked him impatiently, "Nowwe go?" When he nodded, she slid down off the bed and jogged out of the room.
Watching her go, Pink smiled. Her small blooming wings made her look like a little green and pink cherub. Pushing to his feet, he followed after her. "I hope you're hungry," he called, before seeing her. She was already playing with her toys. The hyena that had been gifted to her was fast becoming one of her favorite playthings. It was just small enough for her now that she could grab it around the neck and ride it around little a wooden-stick-poney. It was a little awkward, but greatly amusing to watch.
While she was occupied, Pink went to the fridge and got the food. It most mostly normal food, but it had been died and decorated in the spirit of Valentine's. "Do you know what today is?" He called over to Tam, whom had stopped riding the hyena, and had pulled Arabian Nights off the shelf. She looked up from the book, "No. Is it?"
Pink smiled at the misnomer and sat down at the child-sized table on the floor, which they ate their meals on. He offered her a red, cherry-filled pancake, and some juice in a tipy-cup. "It's Valentine's Day, for showing love to those you love."
Tamary looked up at him, pulling the tipy-cup out of her mouth, "So, you loveme?" She wasn't exactly sure what 'love' was, but if they devoted an entire day, and good food, to it, it was probably a good thing!
Pink smiled and laughed, picking up his knife and fork, "Of course, I do."

February 17, 2006 Activity: New clothes for Tam
- - - - - - - - - - -
In the morning, Pink woke to find that Tamary had crawled out of her crib and was sitting on the floor by her low bookshelves, reading. He could tell from the color of the book that it was Arabian Nights yet again. Though Tam had not yet learned to read, she liked to flip through the pages, and drag her fingers over the pictures of the beautiful men and women.
Seeing her like that gave Pink an idea. He dressed her quickly, and let her choose which of her toys she wanted to take with her. Then, puting her in daycare, he went out.
Lately Pink had been thinking about how Zuleika needed new clothes. The old ones didn't fit so well now that she was growing up. Her growing baby wings had lately become too big to neatly fit through the holes made in the clothing she already had; Pink had had to make some adjustments on her usual clothing.
So, that morning when he had seen her "reading", he had been inspired. Arabian Nights was one of her favorite books, so he thought perhaps he aught to be thinking along those lines. He wasn't strict about what she wore, as long as it was practical and she was comfortable.
After trying a few shops with children's clothing, however, he was fast running out of luck. They mostly had prints and boring clothes, more of what she already had. Moving on, he decided to try a costume shop instead. There hevhad a more luck, but found mostly impractical clothing, not made of sturdy enough material for a growing toddler.
After much searching a few stores later, Pink found something he liked. He chose for a her an open-neck, soft but straight collared white shirt- something that looked very much like something Sinbad would wear- with a soft white low-cut rayon shirt to cover her chest underneath. Besides that he choose a pair of stripped, dark purple harem pants, and sandals with sturdy leather ties.
For not being a very experience shopper, particularly for child-size clothing, Pink thought he had done pretty well. The shirts would have to be cut and sewn so as to fit her wings, but would otherwise be quite comfortable and easy to move in. The pants were equally so. Please, Pink headed back to headquarters to see how Tam liked her new clothes.

February 19, 2006 Activity: Around the HQ
- - - - - - - - - - -
Tamary held onto the Pink's hand, not paying much mind to where they were going. She watched as they passed the other Mishaps' rooms, more interested in why she didn't see anyone about. She wiggled a bit at the end of Pink's hand; she was getting used to the clothing Pink had bought and sewed for her recently. She like the pants, which were light, soft, and let her move about freely. It felt a little weird the way they bunched at the bottom, but it was okay. The shirt was a little more annoying. Tamary didn't like the stiff, though small, collar. However, when she had stood in the mirror that morning, she had looked a bit like Sinbad, and it pleased her. At once she felt better about the shirt.
The trips down the steps was slow. Zuleika could walk just fine, but steps were hard. Her tail caught caught on each step behind her and pushed her off balance, her legs not terribly long yet, making the steps hard to reach. Pink was always there to make sure she made it down okay. She was getting better at it though, learning to tuck her tail a bit to the side when she could so it didn't hit against the steps.
Fortunately there was only one flight of stairs. Peering around her, Tamary only vaguely recognized the the area that Pink walked her through. "W'ere go?" She asked, finally.
However, Pink didn't have to say anything. Just as she finished speaking, the two of them came up beside a large glass wall. Beyond the wall was a forest of trees rising up just beyond the glass. So much green! It sure looked like a great place to hide and explore plants. She looked up at Pink, her big eyes eager. "Here, now?"
The moment Pink opened the door and let her in, Tamary went flying. Running into the forest, she looped around a few of the trees a couple time, running her hands over the bark. She stopped and studdied the bark for a moment as Pink caught up. "Rufff," she told him, rubbing the bark.
Pink watched as Tamary abandoned the tree and went running again. She stopped and squatted down at t pile of leaves, picking them up. Squishing a big pile of leaves against her chest, she turned around. She was grinning broadly as she hoarder her colorful treasure. Turning back around, she held onto her prize, walking out towards the edge of the small forest. Unable to hold on to all the leaves as she walked, a small colorful trail followed her.
Quite suddenly, the forest opened up. Outside the boundries of the trees was what looked like and indoor play area. Swings, slides, and jungle gyms dotted the small landscape. Pink looked to Tamary to see which one she would choose first. In fact, the little Mishap was frozen in place, staring blankly out at the playground. "Come on, girlie, lets go slide, hmm?"
Tamary walked alongside Pink. Though her leaf pile was significantly smaller by the time she reached the slide, she was sad to put down the remainders. "Stay 'er'," she commanded the pile, turning to walk up the slide steps.
With a WOOSH, she slid down, bounced up, and wanted to do it again. She slid again, jumping off the end of the slide.
Turning about, she looked for something else to do. Not to far before her, she saw the towering presence of a wood jungle-gym. It was large, composed of poles, bridges, lookouts, and swining walkways. Scooping up her dwindling pile of leaves, Zuleika attempted to crawl up the structure with no hands. It sort of worked, wiggling forward on her belly before pushing to her feet. She climbed up some steps leading to the top of the gym. It was much easier to climb steps UP then it was to climb them DOWN. There was a lookout at the dtop, from which she grinned down at Pink.
Turning to her side, she studied the swining bridge that connected her lookout to the next. "Swinnng," she shrilled with displeasure. She could see the wood planks wiggling just slightly back and forth at her movement vibrated through the wood. Tamary didn't like swings! They made her go wabbly.
With a huff, Tamary Zuleika set one foot out on the bridge. It seemed to hold steady with so little weight. Taking a few more steps forward, she felt the bridge moving under her, inducing another low shrill of displeasure. Her feather cone flattaned against her head, making low sounds nearly the entire way across. When she reached the other side, Tamary looked back and the bridge and make a mocking, high-pitch sound. HA! She had made it! So there!
Without the prospect of more bridges, Tamary was much happier. There was nook in this lookout that the other one hadn't had. Scooching down, Tamary set in the nook. It was nice and dark, and smelled of wood, which was very nice. She thought that it would make a very good hiding place. Then a thought struck her. Why not hide her leaves here! Pink would not let her take them all back to their room, so here they would be safe. Leaning forward, she dumped the remainder of her leaves in the little nook, arranging them so they would be comfortable.
Pink lost sight of Tamary after she crossed the bridge. He could no longer hear her sounds, either of pleasure or displeasure, but he wasn't concerned. Looking around, he was surprised at the size of the indoor play place and forest. The HQ really had to be huge to accommodate such facilities.
Seeing movement out of the corner of his eye, Pink turned his head to see Tamary climbing down from the jungle gym. She used one of the side ladders, no leaves in sight. He raised he eyebrows at her as she came to rest on the ground. "Ready to go?" Pink still wanted to see what else was in the HQ.
Tamary only nodded, walking over and taking his hand.

March 4, 2006 Subject: An interest in books.
- - - - - - - - - - -
I have noticed that Tamary Zulieka has become more curious about the things around her. Though she prefers to stick mostly to her own vocabulary of sounds, rather than tell me what she is thinking, I have see the way she looks at things. Plants in particular seem to hold her attention; I brough her to the Inside playground last month and she wouldn't let go of an pile of dead leaves.
However, it's not just the plant thing. She keeps asking me what she is. I don't really know how to reply to that, honestly. I told her generally how all Mishaps come into exhitance, but that didn't seem to satisfy her. She would pick up her tail and rub the feathery tip, saying the singular words she knows to describe them. Feathers. Colorful. Soft. Then she would rub her hand over her arm or face, and want to know about those. So I told her that she was something of a bird, which was soft feathery wings, and a crocodile, which was dry, smooth skin.
Every since then, she was constantly on the lookout for birds and crocodiles. She has always been interested in other things and creatures that look like her, but she after I told her, she was even more eager to see that things that had combined to create her.
Finally, today, I brough her to the HQ library. She seemed reluctant at first, not knowing why I had brought her to such a large, daunting, dark room. However, when I told her about meeting her creatures, she brightend up, giving one of those loud shrills that she is so fond of.
Sitting her down on one of the lounges, I found a couple books. Some were specific to birds and crocodiles. I chose them mainly because they had lots of bright pictures that she could related to. I also managed to find an encyclopedia, from which I read to her the descrition of her particular species. She seemed satisfied, though a little frustrated that should could not read the words in the picture books herself.
I was curious if her interest circled around only that of birds and crocodiles, so I found more books. I chose some on amphibians and other on reptiles. I also found several sections of the encyclopeida devoted to dinosaurs, which I read to her. Tamary didn't care much for the amphibians, though she didn't seem to dislike them. The reptiles and dinosaurs were a winnder, though. Once she saw the picture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, she made me read the entire section aloud. It was quiet fun, I must say, to see such interest in one so young.
I will have to see about getting her a little reptilian pet, or perhaps just some minatures to play with. Something made of hard plastic.

March 15, 2006 Activity: Meeting old friends
- - - - - - - - - - - Silencer Wolf Ah, it was a beautiful day. It was the perfect weather for an outing outside, but somehow a pair of conjoined twins found themselves indoors. Which was just as well as, strange as it might seem, Rex felt mightly lazy and could not bear to run around outside, or even anywhere else for that matter.
Rolling to his side, the boy sighed, before a push and wriggle from his twin had him back rolling back on his stomach. Rex let out another yawn, and idly played around with the grass, growing and sculpting the ground before him into a miniature landscaped garden.
King, meanwhile, rumbled happily at the passing clouds overhead. If there was one thing he liked about being indoors, it was the fact that he could stare at the sky without hurting his eyes. And for a long time. pinkdog -RP with Rex in Inside Garden- It was very strange. The grass felt real. The blades were strong, yet soft and flexible as any grass, despite their indoor exhistance. Tamary knelt down and plucked out one blade. It broke as grass does, part clean and part stringy, and very much alive.
Standing, Tamary let the broken blade slip between her fingers to fall back into the grass. Her eyes were moving elsewhere already, intrigued by this indoor paradise. It gave her a little thrill to know she had found this place on her own. Though Pink had given her permission to wander within the walls, Zuleika liked to think she had escaped, slipped past his notice, and was exploring on the run. It would have been terrible if her little "forbidden" rendezvous had ended without her finding anything interesting.
Wandering forward into the tall, waving green plants, Tamary disappeared behind wide leaves. Inside there was nothing but waterfalls of green, everyside engulfing Zuleika with a brush against her skin. Once again, Tamary pretended her way into a forest, where she was camouflaged by her naturally green skintone, survived by sharp reflexes and instinct, and skillfully hid from her guardian. The Crocodile Mishap shrilled with happy excitement, the equivalent of a giggle, and remained blissfully aware of how this could have potentionally blown her "cover".
The tiny forest went on a good ways, the shrubery lined up in a curving row. Darting under and through the bushes, her tail twacking back and forth, Tamary barelled through, on the run, and shrilling just a bit with glee. Very abruptly the row came to an end, Tamary bursting forth out onto the grass from the bushes and stumbling to a stop in surprise. The brightness of the garden hurt her eyes after being surrounded by dark, comforting walls of green.
Thus, it took her squinting eyes a moment to readjust. As the white blurr faded back into the shapes and colors of the garden, Tamary startled at seeing a boy laying out in the grass a short distance from her. His appearance shattered her game of pretend, draining her of her momentary confidence.
Feeling shy and uncertain, Tamary stared at the boy. "Hi," was all she could manage, lapsing back into her shy, quiet state as she studied the figure. He seemed quiet familiar.Silencer Wolf Both Rex and King were taken by surprise at the suddenness of the greeting, and both heads turned towards the source of the sound. Boy and dinosaur stared back at the little green toddler before them for a solid few seconds, before King finally broke the silence with a cheerful bark-yelp.
"Uh, hello."
Rex pushed himself into a sitting position facing the colorful child, effectively swinging King out of sight of her. The boy studied younger mishap briefly, before a growl, followed by a thundering roar of protest forced him to shift his current position so that he was sitting with his shoulder towards the little one - an awkward position, no less.
Rex knew he had met the toddler somewhere, if only he could remember where, and who.
It's her! King, on the other hand, had no trouble remembering the crocodile mishap. The tyrannosaur threw a volley of whatever vocals he could come up with at Tamary, greeting her as if she was a long lost friend. It did not matter if she could not understand him - the joy and happiness in his voice was more than obvious. pinkdog The Croc Mishap only tilted her head slightly to the side at Rex's greeting -to see him better- but said nothing more. She studdied his stripes in and face in the brief time he looked at her. She knew she had met him before, but she didn't remember knowing anyone so big! He looked a bit like her though, with his flat skin, so she took an instant re-liking to him.
At the sudden noise from King her cone flatened momentarily, then instantly flew up in the air. That sound! Why, the gratting roar! Rather than frightening her, the sound excited her to the prospect of finding/meeting/seeing another reptilian! Tamary looked around, but didn't see anything. Where had it come from?
Movement from the stripped boy captured her attention agian, shifting her gaze. She saw him move his head to the side so that his shoulder was facing her a- Zuleika's cone of feathers rose to it's full forty-five degree angle, a short, high-pitch shrill squeezed out of her as she saw King.
Her uncertainly instantly disappearing, Tamary Zuleika rushed forward to greet the loud, happy sounds from the tyrannosaur, stopping just a few feet away from the twins. She looked from Rex to King, then stared at King. She returned her own, happy shrill sounds, entirely too pleased at seeing the other. What a fabulous turn to her adventure!
It's 'im! It's 'im! It's 'im! Tamary thought to herself. Everytime she had thought about wanting to go out and meet more of the children, she had first thought of this loud creature before her.
Stepping forward again, unafraid and unabashed, she reached out and touched the nose of the volatile tyrannosaur, giving a low purring shrill as she did so.
After stroking his nose a few times in greeting, she looked again at Rex, her cone falling slightly from the height of excitement. She didn't remember this one as well, though he most obviously been there when she had seen the other. She studied him, trying to recall his name. She knew from the loud one that he was a Tyrannosaur, but she could not pronounce that. She tried instead for the shorter version.
"REX," she held onto the word, almost rolling the "r" before the word came out in one short jump. Thinking a moment, she then pointed to herself, "Tam-ary."
Turning her head, she said with pleasure to King, "Zoo-leh-kuh." Silencer Wolf King beamed at Tamary, letting her stroke his nose as long as she liked, purring like a contented cat all the while.
"Tamary!" Rex half-shouted as something clicked in his head. "So it's you!" The boy exclaimed, grinning down at her. He remembered now, she was one of the first(and only) person King had accepted at first glance. Not even Mother had such an honor...
Looking Tamary up and down, the boy nodded. "You've grown bigger, Tam. Last time we met, you're still a baby," he said, reaching out a hand to pat her gently on the head, careful not to mess up her one feathers.
"Rex, that's me," Rex laughed, then pointed a thumb behind him at his twin. "That's King, if you don't remember."
As if on cue, King leaned in and pressed his muzzle against the toddler, nuzzling her affectionately before a slobbery tongue reached out and, like it or not, covered the crocodile mishap in a layer of wet, sticky t-rex saliva.

Continuedpinkdog Tamary grinned, pleased that Rex remember her. She had to admit she had forgotten their names, but she had definately not forgotten them.
She ducked her head just a bit as the boy patted her head, though she didn't mind the gesture. "You're big," she replied in kind. They were much much bigger than she remember them. She didn't see anyone else about, and wondered if they had managed to slip away just as she had.
Surprised by King's sudden attack of nuzzles and sloppy kiss, Tamary giggled loudly, ending on short shrills. Rubbing her hands up on her face to wipe off the saliva, and to rub on King's head some more, she laughed,
"Zuleika miss King, too!" Silencer Wolf King pressed his nose into Tamary's hand as she rubbed him, and the low rumbling purr in his throat started again.
"Aren't I?" Rex grinned, waving the tip of his tail back and forth. "I'm the tallest mishap in the HQ," he announced rather proudly, then paused for a bit, stroking his chin. "Except for Jabir, he's very tall." He added, with an emphasis on the word 'very'.
The boy smiled at Tamary, then instictively looked around for her guardian. Only... there was no sign of him anywhere.
"Where's your Daddy, Tam?" Rex asked wonderingly. Then, lowering his voice to a secretive whisper, "What are you doing out here all alone?" pinkdog Tamary was watching King as she replied, "I escaped!" She half whispered, but was not entirely unable to hide her enthusiasm for the game.
Rubbing King's nose a bit more, she looked over at Rex. She knew, of course, that adults tended to worry about such things. The boy was aweful big. Did he count as an adult? She wondered if she should tell him the truth. "You escape too?"
"I came to see plants," she said, dropping her hand from King's nose. "You like plants?" Silencer Wolf Rex couldn't help but notice Zuleika's enthusiasm, so he joined in her game. "Ahh.." he said, lowering his voice.
"Yep. I escaped, from an evil..." Rex paused, trying to find someone to label as an evil... something. "Bird." Ahem, yes. "Called Andi." Oh boy.
Rex chuckled at the thought of Andi being evil, but dismissed it at Zuleika's next question. "Plants?" Rex echoed. He wasn't really a big fan of them, but Mother does, and so do King, for some odd reason.
"Sure, why not?" Rex said casually and nodded, then added as an afterthought, "It's related to my element." pinkdog Zuleika's eyes glistened brightly with excitement at the mention of Rex's captor. "An evil biiird she repeated. It might not have interested her so much if it had not been a bird. But an evil bird?! She had never seen an evil bird! Maybe she was an evil bird. "Washe like?"
She paused, hearing his last bit about the plants. "Wassan element?" The only elements she knew were of things like the rain and wind, basically the weather. She had never heard of it being refered to has something one could have. "Plant... element?" Silencer Wolf Rex laughed, and dropped his voice to a bare whisper. "Very nasty. Like a bad-tempered old maid." He had just made that up, of course, but the boy wasn't going to let the toddler know.
"Well, it's not exactly a plant element," Rex straightened up, shifting into a more comfortable position. "Element, in this case, is something related to magic." Rex explained simply, pausing for a little while and looking down at the crocodilian mishap before him. "When you're older, you'll get to know what element you're alligned with, so you can do stuff with them."
"For example, my elements are Earth, Time and Gravity. With Earth, I can do this," Rex waved his hand over the patch of grass beside Zuleika. Nothing seemed to happen at first. Slowly, each blade seemed to come to life. Each seemed like it was dancing oddly as some grew longer while the rest became shorter, and vice versa.
With an effort, King managed to turn his head slightly against Rex's, and peered at the grass critically. The reptile huffed, and attempted to crush the dancing green stuff flat with his tail.

pinkdog Look from the grass to the boy, eyes widening as far at the little reptile could managed, Zuleika stared at Rex as though he were something akin to a god. She went to the patch of grass that waved and reached out cautiously. She brushed the blades, feeling them grow against her fingers.
A high pitch shrill of glee bound from the other, her feather cone rising to their utmost. She almost wiggled with exciment, it was so exciting! He could grow plants! Real plants! She wanted to pluck one of the blades and see if it would keep growing in her hand. She went on to converse with Rex in her tonal shrilling language, not realizing, in her excitement, that he would not understand a word. Can you grow anything?! Flowers? Plantss? ...FORRESTS! She paused for a moment, unable to think of anything bigger than a forest. Then another thought occured to her and she looked at Rex, gaping a bit in wonderful expectation, ...even in winter?
Hearing the sound of her own "voice", Zuleika realized Rex wouldn't be able to understand. She repeated the question, though almost in a whisper, "Even'n winter...?" Silencer Wolf Rex smiled, leaning back slightly as he watched Tamary's reaction to his little trick. The boy fought for control over his tail with King, and flick it out of the way, much to the tyrannosaur's dismay, at the dancing patch of grass.
Stop it, King. You might hurt Tamary.
King grumbled indignantly; he would do anything to protect the toddler, how could he even hurt her. But the dancing, jiggling blades of grass? The t-rex shivered, and attempted to wrestle for control over the tail once again.
"King!" Rex almost growled, and promptly curled his tail tightly around himself.
"Winter?" Rex echoed, looking down at the toddler, traces of excitement still on her face. "I'm not sure, never tried it really," Rex said, looking a little apologetic. Quote: Hearing the sound of King's name being called, Tamary looked up in surprise, half-worried she had missed something, "King?"
However, his name triggered another thought. She looked from the tyrannosaurus to the grass, then at Rex. She knew that Rex and King were not the same but they did sorta share the same body, right? Did that mean King could grow plants too? "King too?"
Zuleika looked from Rex to King. She wondered why he looked so frustrated. Did she do something? She thought back on what had happened since she gotten there, frowing slightly. She liked King! She did want him to be angry!
She couldn't really think of anything, though maybe she was doing something without knowing it. A thought struck her as the sound faded, remember that she had been speaking in her sounds a moment before she'd noticed he was upset. Did King understand her? He was very much like her, after all (she prided herself) and he didn't seem to speak in people speech either. She'd been talking about the plants right? She offering a question (low, quiet, and slightly sad, only subtly different from that which she used for deep affection) as a small test to see if he'd responde. King not like plants?
Zuleika was not disappointed by Rex's answer about the winter. Just because he hadn't done it didn't mean he couldn't! Calming, her feathers falling back slightly, though still extremely interested in this power of Rex's, Tamary plucked a peice of grass, staring at it curiously. Even if he couldn't grow them in winter - but she really hoped he could!- it was still beyond anything she ever could have hoped for. "Yes, but he's not allowed to do magic," Rex said, shaking his head slightly. Noticing a sudden change in King's behaviour just then, Rex straightened up, his eyes shooting to the side.
"Are you alright, King?" Rex asked, his voice tinged with worry. Not very...
King shrilled unhappily, his eyes narrowing into slits at the tyrannosaur glanced at Tamary dejectedly. A low rumble escaped from the reptile as his head felt oddly light...
Shaking his get to rid himself off the light-headedness, King groaned and returned his gaze to Zuleika. Not as food, King quipped, not realising that he had actually communicated directly with the crocodilian toddler. Some are good to hide in though, he added, in a low rumble.pinkdog Tamary gave a low shrill of excitement and pleasure at hearing King respond in a similar sort of sound language to her own. She could understand him! Better yet, he could understand her! The little reptile beamed at both Rex and King, her admiration for them at that moment bordering on hero worship. Rex could grow plants and King could speak in shrill!
The discovery particularly pleased Zuleika because, since she could remember, she had never much liked speaking in anything else. It was necessary, obviously, to communicate with (most!) everyone, but she found it awkward. Usually she was more prone to keeping silent than to speaking at any length.
Her tailed rolled in the grass as her eyes looked to the bushes King referred to, even as she answered Rex's comment. "What he do, wonder..." She tried, without success, to think of something more spectacular than being able to grow plants.
After a moment of staring at the bushes however, it occured to her that it had been quite some time since she had "escaped" from Pink. She fought for a moment with herself, not wanting to leave the boys but thinking she aught to get back.
Finally, she turned and looked rather sheepishly up at Rex again. "I 'scaped. Should un'scape...?"

April 13, 2006 Activity: Easter eggs hunt!
- - - - - - - - - - -
Carefully holdering her small hand within his own much larger one, Pink led Tamary at a slow walk towards the area that had been prepared. Tamary was not easy to walk, her eyes roaming around her, watching things flutter by with a keen interest and sharp, curious eyes. She pulled gently against Pink's hand or would stop alltogether to bend down and pick at a flower or a blade of grass; Pink had to brush them out of her fingers often enough, to keep her from depositing the goodies in her mouth.
Little Tam still didn't like to talk much, but she would point up at the things she saw and name them with the same strong conviction as when she had said her first word, and Pink had to wonder if she had whole sentences floating around in her head, ready to be shouted out. "Come on Tamary, we're almost there. Look-" he pointed to the grassy field, knowing the plants and trees would capture her interest. "Look, that's where we are going."
Surely enough, the sight of so much green was enough to engage her short attention span. Hobbling forward the small distance they had left to cover, Pink dropped down to his knees so as to be on even footing with her. He pointed at all the trees, bushes, and grass as he spoke to her, motioning gently for her to look. "See Tam, we're gonna look for eggs in all these places. They've been hidden and I need you to find them all for me. Do you think you can do that for me?"
Tamary considered the request thoughtfully, following Pink's finger with her gaze. Everything was so bright and green and in need of tasting and touching. She nodded, and Pink let go of her hand slowly. Stepping forward by herself, Tam looked around. She couldn't spot anything that looked like an egg out in the open, but this did not frustrate her. She walked over to the nearest push, straight ahead of her, and gingerly ruffled through it. Briefly her attention was caught by a parade of ants, and she followed them with her eyes, enthrawled. They moved under a leaf and, as she moved the leaf out of the way with her finger, she noticed something odd sitting there on the ground. It was rounded like and egg, but it didn't LOOK like and egg. It was purple! and gold, the gold strips winding up around it.
Wrapping her chubby green fingers around the strange egg, Tam picked it up and studied it. It was definately not like any egg she had ever seen, so perhaps it wasn't really an egg. Her tongue skipped out and licked the egg once, immedinately retreating at the odd taste. Didn't taste like an egg either.
Turning, she held the egg up to Pink, still staring at it oddly. "This an egg?" She asked, the disbelief apparent in her voice.
Pink chuckled and waddled over to her, cupping it hands out to her so she could give him the egg. "Yep, this is an egg. Good job find it! and so quickly! Well now, see, it's just a regular egg, like any other, it just has a little paint on it. It's playing dress up, you see? We can paint some together when we get back if you like."
Zuleika listened to what Pink was saying, looking at the egg a little differently. She hadn't known eggs could dress up and be different colors. She wondered what else could change colors like that. Could she?
Lifting her head to look around again, Tamary Zuleika got back to what she was doing. As she was turning, she saw a small bird swoop down to a small patch of grass. With her unshure footing, she hurried over to it, wanting to see the small, lively creature up close. Suddenly, she was moving downward! Her feet had gotten stuck on the root of the tree and she fell face-first, barely catching herself on her arms. Immediately, she began to sob quietly and then more loudly, pain lacing up through her knee.
She heard Pink run up beside her, and saw him kneel down, his worried face blurred by her tears. However, as she look at him, she seemed to see something oddly yellow growing out of his face. She blinked, though her chest still heaved gently with sobs, to clear her eyes. Her small hand rubbed at them to clear them further, and then to push Pink's face gently out of the way. Her expression brightened considerably as her eyes came into focus. "An egg!" She shouted.
With Pink watching, she leaned back on her knees and carefully tried to push herself up. Her long tail waves about, fruitlessly trying to balance herself out. When she was at risk of falling over again, Pink's big hands came out to steady her, brushing off her clothes gently and not letting her go until she seemed ready to walk on her own again. Walk she did! Taking two running steps forward, she bent down and victoriously plucked the yellow egg from the grass where it had hidden behind the tree trunk.
"Egg!" She repeated. This one took was not the same color as the eggs she had seen before, though it was similar. Instead of white, it was tan-ish yellow, with long orange stripes reach up around it. It didn't look like the first egg she had found either. She held the egg out to Pink, as if expecting him to confirm that it was, indeed, an egg.
Pink chuckled lightly, taking the egg from her as he had the first. He had been worried, when he'd seen her fall, that perhaps they would have to abandon the rest of the hunt. It was with great fortune that Tam had found the egg just then, to distract her from the pain. "Yes, it is an egg! Good job!" Carefully he tucked it into his pocket with the other. Looking up, he spotted something in the tree above. Point up for Tam's benefit, he asked, "Hey Tam, I think there is something up there. Want to help me get it?"
Excited now, Zuleika nodded eagerly, reaching up toward him with her arms. When Pink scooped her up and put him on her shoulders, she clung to his hair. The weight of her tail hanging down behind her made her feel as though she would fall off! Then Pink's hands wrapped themselves around her feet on each side of her neck, holding her in place. Feeling a little easier, Tam could direct her attention towards other things. She looked at the tree trunk as Pink stood up, giving her a higher and higer view. There! As Pink stood up to his full height, Zuleika could see something craddled in the place where the trunk split into two parts. Two somethings! "Egg! Egg!" She shouted, bouncing on Pink's shoulders. As Pink moved closer to the tree, Zuleika reached over his head and picked up one of the oval objects in each of her hands.
Pink bent down again, reaching back and lifting Tamary off his shoulders and putting her back on the ground again to see what she had found. "Ah, two eggs this time! Hurry up and see if you can find the last one!" He encouraged her, tucking the eggs into his pocket.
The little Mishap turned about her and looked. After finding so many eggs, she rather expected them to simply appear to her. As far as she could tell, she was becoming a regular egg-hunt expert! She had found four already, after all. The last one should be easy!
So Tamary walked around in the grass, swiping it gently behind with her tail, and scanning with her eyes to see if anything was out of place. She walked around the bush where she had found the first egg, then over to some similar bushes a little farther off. No egg. She did find an acorn by the tree where she had picked up the last two eggs, but the acorn was just acorn colored and certainly not an egg. She put it in her mouth briefly, just to be sure.
After all the old places proved free of bearing further eggs, Tam was feeling a little discouraged. Still, if there was another egg around, she would surely be the one to find it! She walked around the side of the tree to where she could kick at the leaves and brush them out of her way, hoping to find something buried beneat the foliage. There was nothing, though, except a few snails stucks to the dead leaves.
Walking back in the direction they have first come, Tamary noticed a bump in the dirt. It looked like it could have been a rock or maybe just a random lump except for that little bit of purple visible. Stepping over, she crouched over, scratching at the dirt. It was hard! Scratching harder, the thinly spread dirt gave way and Tam's scratching risked breaking the surface. Fortunately, as more of it became visible, and it was clearly an egg, Tamary dug her fingers into the dirt and pulled it out. It WAS purple! Looking over her shoulder, her tail swishing gleefully, she squealed, "I find it!" Turning round, she held the egg up victoriously.

Pink smiled, walking over and patting her head. "That you did! Wow, it is sure bright! Come on now, lets go back and set them up in our room, huh?" Reaching down, he scooped the little Mishap up, heading back toward the HQ.
Tamary just nodded in reply to Pink's suggestion. She bristled with excited for her first egg hunt, her colorful cone feathers standing up. She held the last little egg in her paw-hands. Curious, she held it up to her ear. Not hearing anything, she shook it a bit. Was there something alive in there? Was it purple too? The thought make her shrill, excited by the prospect.
Back in their humble room, Dane set out a basket on the low Tam-size table in her room. It was filled with the cheap plastic grass so frequently seen around that particular holiday. He gave each of the eggs to Tam, who carefully arranged them in the basket to her liking. Afteward, she looked up at Pink expectantly. Pink laughed, aware of the infinite expectation of his toddler. "Looks great, honey. Maybe in a few days something might come out of the eggs, huh?" He smiled, and raised his eyebrows, "Hey, want to go down to the kitchen and get some lunch?" At the eager, wide-eyed nod, Pink chuckled and scooped her up, heading out of the room.

April 16, 2006 Activity: Cracking eggs!
- - - - - - - - - - -
Every day since they had come back from hunting the eggs, Tamary had been checking on them constantly. She had kept Pink to his word that something would happen within a few days. Still, day after day, the eggs remained in their little basket. Tamary would occationally look up to Pink while she played with her toys, an expectant look on her face. "Eeegg?" Every time Pink would have to shake his head and smile sadly.
That morning, three days later, Pink went to peak at the eggs before he went to check on his sleeping Mishap. They sat in their usual spot, unmoved. A creaking from the crib across the room stole his attention. Tamary was waking up.
The little green toddler's eyes rolled over to the middle of the room as she awoke. She could just see the form of Pink standing nearby. Rolling over, she pushed herself up onto her knees, balancing with her tail. Grabbing at the wooden bars of her crib, she pulled herself up onto her feet. Turning her head, she looked over for Pink, her feathered cone rising. "Cona asa otter?" To which she saw Pink smile and nod once before retreating back to his room.
While he was gone, Tama looked down at the wooded crib she was gripping so tightly. Many of the bars showed evidence of chewing but were still quiet sturdy enough to hold the weight of the Mishap. Without even really thinking about it, Tamary was trying to climb up the side of the crib. Her tail proved to be a useful limb for that purpose, holding her balanced while she pulled her leg over the top. Balanced for a moment along the top of the crib, she managed to swing her other leg over. Unfortunately, this put her in the position to be hanging by her arms on the other side of the crib. Only able to hold on for a few seconds, Tamary Zuleika went tumbling to the floor with a short cry.
She landed on her side, her outstretched tail keeping her from rolling onto her back. She lay still for a moment in shock from the fall. Then her eyes began to well with huge, reptilian tears. As she pushed herself up on her rump with slow, jerky movements, the tears started.
It was then that Pink walked in, a colorful plastic tippy-cup in hand "Here's your wa-" He stopped upon seeing Tam on the floor -out of her crib- and in tears. Setting the class on the low table in the room, he hurried over. "Oh, my dear, how did you get out, hmm? Awww, it's alright.. shh..." Sitting down on the floor, he pulled Tamary into his arms, mindful her wings and tail. "Aww.. it's okay.. did you hurt yourself? how did you get out of there, hmm?" He rubbed his hand over her legs and torso, making sure she was okay. It was most likely just a bit of bruising and jarring, so he was not too concerned. "Come now, girlie, don't cry anymore, you're just fine... shhh, it's alright..."
A few more sniffles came from the Mishap, but Tamary honestly felt better. She was tempted to keep it up just so Pink would stay on the floor with her. Instead, she look up at him as she rubbed a hand over her snout, "Otter..?" She was till thirsty.
Pink smiled at her and nodded with a quick, "Good girl" before setting her down on the carpet. She watched him walk over to the short table on his knees and pick up the tippy-cup. Immediately after he returned, she took it from him and fit the nub into her snout. she had to lick at the tip of the nub, as she had learned to do, as it was impossible to suck with her snout. She drank her fill of the water, feeling better still, and pushed it aside. Pink caught it before she dropped it on the floor.
However, Zuleika's mind was already moving on. Carefully, she put her hand on Pink's knee to help push her to her feet. When she was steady enough, she walked over to the short table where the cup had been. The eggs were still in their basket and, to her great disappointment, seemed unchanged. "Dun 'ana c'ack?" She asked sadly. As if in reply to her question, one of the eggs wiggled.
Tamary Zuleika gave a loud shrill, her cone standing up on end. Her tail thwapped back and forth and she wiggled with exciment, "C'ACK, C'ACK, C'ACK!" She chanted.
Finally, one of the little eggs did crack open. Nothing was visible at first, leaving Zuleika with more impatient wiggling. Then, slowly, a beak was visible. It was small and yellow, and pecking furiously. When it was almost free, Tamary reached up carefully and plucked the egg from the basket. The little bird creature still plucked fruitlessly at it's shell. In her hand, Tamary could feel the feet scratching scratching scratching of the feet through the shell. "Bird!" She said loudly, repeating the first confident word she'd ever spoken.
The bird, when it had worked itself as far out of it's shell as it was going to go, looked up at Tamary. It was white, with pebble red eyes and a long curling tongue. Yet it's backend was reptiliant, with small, scratching scales. Tamary, who instantly found a creature so much like herself, squeezed it to her with a gleeful shrill.
Holding the first egg to her chest, she picked up the next egg. It had remained uncracked with the rest of them. She shook it gently, and a sound rattled from inside. Without much more thought that than, she hit it against the table. The egg cracked and fell to peices on the carpet, tumbling down along with it's contents.

The little wind-up bird attempted to walk on air, twittering, and jerking on the carpet. Tamary starred down at it blankly until it stopped moving, the spring unwound. The bird in her arm struggled, capturing her attention. Rubbing her hand over it, she moved onto the next egg, apparently forgetting the toy on the floor.
The next egg, when she cracked it, contained a small, little tree, full of minature eggs. It wasn't alive, but it still took Tamary's attention. She picked at the small green leaves with her webbed fingers, enthralled. The eggs were tied into the tree and wouldn't come off, and the bark was made of hard plastic, but it made Tamary happy.

She continued to play with the little tree. she held it up to her bird. The bird pecked at it, it's longue tongue attacking the plastic leaves. Tamary pulled it away from the bird creature before the little tree could be ruined. She held it up to Pink, "Tree!" She siad proudly. She set it back on the table.
Picking up the basket, Tamary inspected the last two eggs. Neither moved nor showed signs of moving. Randomly slection one, and then the other, she cracked them both open. Inside was a bunny mask, and a stuffed creature of no name she knew.

The Croc Mishap set the bird down on the carpet. It fluttered about, unablanced, and wabbled off. Tamary picked up the mask. She tugged on the rubber band and curled her fingers on the mask. It was stiff, though hardly unbreakable. Pink came over and took the object from her. "This is a mask. A bunny mask, see?" He showed her the front of the mask, pointing out the long ears. "Bunny. Want to try it on?" Tamary stared blankly at him, though she raised her eyes. Taking this as as much of a response as he was likely to get, Pink carefully tugged on the rubberband, pulled it over Tamary Zuleika's cone to the back of her head. Her snout being the way it was, it was impossoble for the make to sit how it was originally indended. Instead, it sat at the front of her face, balanced on the end of her snout. It looked rather odd and Pink laughed.
Tamary touched the mask on her face. it felt weird, and awkward, and sort of unfomfortable. it fit right over her snout and, though she could breath, she couldn't help but want open her jaw a bit. Breathing stranely, she looked up at Pink. Did she look like a bunny now?
Pulling off the mask, she dropped it on the carpet with the discarded bird toy. Her green chubby fingers wrapped around the purple faux furr of the stuffed animal. It's long ears felt like features over her skin. Tamary lifted the animal to her mouth, chew sucking on the feathery ears. They were reduced to half-eaten, wet, stubbs in a matter of minutes. Holdint the stuffed animal upside down by it's feet, she poked at the jeweled red eyes. Her little claws her not sharp enough to penetrate the fake furr, but the eyes interested her. The poor little creatures head went to Zuleika's mouth, chewing around the face of the creature on the eye.
Pink, who had been watching Zuleika quickly destroy her new toy, had only smiled. She hadn't grown out of her chewing stage yet, not with her short, sharp little teeth. However, he was concerned about the smallness of the bead eyes. He stood to take the toy from her.
However, Tamary stopped before he could reach her. Dropping the pet from her mouth, she looked at it. Havin been unable to remove the eye from the socket, the thing had taken quiet a beating. The material around the eye was chewed and ripped open, the inside fluff visible. The ugliness of the thing made Tamary Zuleika drop it with disinterest. Looking around, she went looking for her little birdy pet.
Pink chuckled and began cleaning up. Picking up the tree and the wind-up bird toy, he dropped them in the toy chest. The mask and the stuffed creature he dropped in the trash. He sat down on the floor, watching Tamary stalk the bird. "You'll have to name that," He called after her. She was distracted and didn't hear him.
As he finished cleaning up the broken egg peices, Pink could hear Tamary's joyful sqees as she finally manged to capture her prey.
