Less than two days left!
PostPosted: Fri Oct 17, 2008 10:01 pm

Name Silver_Tygress
Pokemon: Peanut
Entry:

The pokemon watcher looked at the peanut on the ground. It wasn't the first time in the past week that she'd encountered peanuts and peanut shells. In fact... she suddenly pulled out her recorder from her pocket and switched it on.

"Its the seventh day since I first spotted the luxio outside of Motterossa. Yet another mysterious peanut has plunked onto the path before me and I'm beginning to wonder if the luxio and the peanuts are somehow connected."

She continued on for a moment describing the area around her. She was getting rather closer to the mountains than she liked with the terrain turning to rolling hills. Still it was really a nice spot with a few trees. The grasses were high, perfect for pokemon to hide in. Switching her recorder off she picked up the peanut and tossed it in the air and caught it.

"I know someone's out there playing games with me. I just hope they show themselves to be a friendly little trickster, and not something else," she said to herself before taking off her pack.

It had been a long morning for Tygress Dream and well time for a lunch break. She placed the peanut into a small pocket in her pack that was getting quite full of nuts at this point, before opening the main part to take out a blanket and her lunch; a travel bar and a bottle of water. Most of her friends said Tygress was a bit crazy to wander about on her own as she did without even a pokemon for company and protection, but Tyg loved the travel and meeting new people and observing the wide array of pokemon. There had been occassional attepts at capturing a pokemon and she carried a ready supply of pokeballs in her handy pack. She had yet to succeed in capturing or befriending - her preference - a pokemon of her very own. She knew she had to be careful and with the amount of time she'd counted herself a watcher, Tygress knew enough to stay safe.

Finishing her lunch Tyg let out a sigh. She was starting to get lonely again, a sure sign it was time to turn back toward civilization again. Perhaps there'd be news of another swarm or a trainer journey to some new area that she could join. Another chance to have that precious pokemon of her very own, it would be so nice. Having taken a liking to her picnic spot Tyg decided to take an extended break and pulled out her sketchbook. Her latest sketches had of course been of luxio. Now she found herself sketching of all things... a peanut, one as she had last found it laying on the path. Digging the peanut out of her pack she gave it a toss in the air as she had earlier intending to catch it.

A sudden gust of wind distracted her from catching it as it ruffled the pages of her sketch book. When she looked around for the peanut she found it and with it just a few feet from her the luxio she had been following. The luxio murred at her seemingly in greeting before pouncing forward. Startled Tyg scrambled to her feet getting herself tangled in her blanket and falling over on her back. Next thing she knew was the weight of the pokemon on her, frightened Tygress opened her eyes and found the luxio head tilted to one side in curiosity with the peanut held in its mouth.

The innocent confusion in its eyes combined with the peanut was an image so comical Tygress couldn't hold in her laughter. The pokemon jumped away and Tygress untangled herself and sat up fully expecting to find the mischievious luxio gone, but she was still there.

Dropping the nut the feline nudged it toward Tygress and gave an aplogetic "luxiio...?"
"Of course I forgive you," Tygress found herself replying. "Its not your fault I got all tangled up." Reaching down for the offered nut she asked, "Is this for me?"
The luxio nodded.
"Well I'm getting ready to head back to Motterossa, would you like come with me?"
The response was such an enthusiastic "Luxio!," Tygress was left with no doubt as to the answer.
"Ok Peanut so long as you want to come with me you're very welcome to join me."

The feline pokemon sat down a rumbling purr escaping it showing its contentment to remain while Tygress repacked her bag and prepared for her return trip; a trip that was shaping up to be far less lonely than the trip out.

Alex was sunbathing among the flowers in Seatence Valley. It was so warm and pleasant~ "Pii," she said happily, rolling to her other side. She licked a paw lazily, savoring her beautiful coloration. There was nothing as beautiful as a golden pelt! But that wasn't what was important right now; right now, Alex was hungry! She got up from her comfortable sun bath and trotted over to the stream. There were a few meowths there, be she ignored them. First, Alex got a drink, then sat back, staring at the river with intense, sky blue eyes. Then... A fish! Instead of getting her paws wet, she blasted a large fireball on top of the fish. The fish floated slowly to the top of the steaming water, belly up. Cooked trout. Alex happily snapped up the fish and trotted away to find a more secluded place.

Incidently, Renekai the trainer was heading to the same place as Alex; the edge of the woods, where naught but birds sounded. Renekai was totally winded, having run into a Persian that was remarkably similar to Bell in temperment, only it didn't need a reason to attack. Now Renekai wanted to catch her breath and take a nap. When she reached the trees, however, her heart was nowhere near slowing down. Renekai blinked several times to make sure that what she was seeing was real. A shiny vulpix! Renekai edged slowly closer until she was only three feet away before she plunked down on the ground.

Alex had been eyeing the human suspiciously as it neared, but it had not done anything to harm Alex, so she left it alone. She daintily gnawed on the fish, but after a time she couldn't help it; she had to play! Growling joyfully, Alex tossed the half-eaten fish into the air and chased it, hardly aware that she was being watched closely. THe oily fish slopped over Alex's nose as she caught it from mid-air, but she didn't care about that, either. "Pii!" she said happily, pawing at the fish before throwing it again. At last, when she was panting hard, Alex returned the battered fish to the shade and ate it quietly, as if nothing had happened.

Renekai burst out laughing at this, startling Alex. "You are so silly!" she cried, not thinking that her loud voice might scare the wild pokemon away. Luckily, Alex was too curious to leave. "What's your name?" Renekai asked. "I'm Renekai! I'm a trainer, trying to catch every pokemon that I can, then train them to be strong for battles!"

"Pii?" Alex tilted her head to one side. "Vulpix vul, pii!" Alex bit into the bones of the fish and flung them at the trainer, wondering if she wanted to play. That was a lot of noise the human was making!

Renekai caught the bones, grinning. "You have a beautiful coat," she murmured, testing the sharpness of a fish rib. "Okay! Are you ready?" she shouted suddenly, standing up.

"Pii!" Alex said loudly, crouching down and ready to pounce. In light of a new game, Alex forgot to act dignified and be careful not to stain her luxorious fur. Right now, fun was all she needed to keep her coat shining!

"Here!" Renekai said, flinging the fish remains high into the air. They soared up and up and up.... Then down and down and... WHACK! Renekai hit the fish back into the air with a stick! After demanstrating this a few times, Alex took the initiative.

"Pii!" she cried, sending up a tornado of golden fire to envelope the fish bones. When the smoke cleared, the bones could be seen flying higher than ever. Alex smugly licked her nose.

Renekai whistled. "Wow... Impressive!"

"Pii!" Alex said again, watching with pride at how the fish bones were still too far to try hitting up again. This was a very fun game! She would have to play it some more in the future. But what was the game called? Every good game needed a name, right?

"You sure do like saying 'pii' a lot," Renekai laughed. "Well... How 'bout we call this game Fish Toss?" Renekai winked, then glanced up at the fish bones, which were now sailing down once more.

"Pii!" Alex said, nodding sharply. She then spouted more flames up, and the fish bones were momentarily lost from view.

"Well, the game has a name, but how about you?" Renekai leaned against a tree, considering. "Is your name Sunny?"

"Vul!" Alex said in disgust.

"All right.... Is it Gem?"

"Vul!"

"Jennah?"

"Vul!"

"Tsuki? Kat? May?"

"Vul! Vul! Vul!"

"Is it... Alex?"

"Pii!" Alex said, then started laughing when the burnt fish bones hit Renekai on the head.

Renekai laughed as well. "Okay, then, Alex! Wanna play some more?"

"Pii!" Alex cried, all of her tails wagging.

"You've got yourself a deal!" Renekai grinned. She threw the fish up once more, and the game recommenced.

Do we assume that the pokemon is wild? ninja

The vulpix can be played as a wild or you can give it a unique backstory. Whichever is fine with me. <3

Entry: James walked home though the pouring rain, no coat or anything. He looked as if he'd been crying, but he hadn't. He tripped, scrapping his knee.

"Oof!", he grunted, looking to see what he'd tripped on. It was a Pokeball! He picked it up, tossing it down so the pokemon inside would come out. The bright light shocked him.

"Vulpix!", Alex said, smiling.

James couldn't believe his eyes. "Oh my god!", he said, wanting to pick the vulpix up and cuddle it. " Your so cute!", he said kneeling by it.

Alex flinched away. She was afraid of this new person. Where was her old owner?

James sighed, " You don't have to be scared... Let me get you out of this rain.", he said scooping her up.

Alex felt confused when the person picked her up. " Pii?", she said, scared.

James pressed the cute vulpix to his chest and zipped his coat up. " All better?"

She blinked. She pressed her head closer to him. "Pii!", she exclaimed. She noticed out of the cornor of her eye a note. She pointed her nose at it. " Vul! Vul Pii!", she said.

"What is it Girl?", he asked her. He then noticed it too. He picked it up and unfolded it. " It's a note..", James said.

Alex's eyes got big. " Pii!"

James read what the note said aloud. "' If your reading this... then Alex is in better hands.. I couldn't afford to keep her anymore... I know that she will be better in whoever is reading this hands. I hope that She will be a good Vulpix. She was always good for me.. but I had to leave and where I went was some where she could not go. To whom ever is reading this... Take good care of her. And thank you... I appreciate this.'", he finished.

Alex was shaking and her eyes started to tear up. She blinked letting a tear roll down her cheek. "Vul... Pii..."

"Don't worry. Me and you... we'll get stronger and try to win in Competitions.", he said, giving her a hug. " And we'll win."

I do have one question, concerning Beautiful Chaos. I really don't mind keeping his backstory, in fact I'd love to keep it since I personally plan to keep his personality the same, however, I don't know really what happened in the mine, since one, I don't have any pokemon, and two, never read through that event for a few reasons (mainly that it would take me forever, specially on my old puter, and also that I didn't see the event till long after it'd started, so though I read the front page of it at the time, I never read the whole RP. I'm sure it was it was fun though! and I do envy those that got to participate xd ).

I guess the question that I'd ask is, is it mandatory at this point that I do know?

Granted, what I was thinking was that BC's past is something she learns in time, since obviously, my trainer character isn't going to know it anyways at first, but wondered how important it'd be for me to do some research before it's BC's turn 3nodding I do have every intention of reading it when I get the chance later as it is, if I did win him.

If any of that makes any sense xd

Thanks for your entry, Eik! <3

Hrm... Well, no, I don't suppose reading the whole event thread is mandatory, but I'm sure it would help you roleplay his character with other pokémon.

If you'd like a quick summary I'd be more than willing to type one up; 's really not that big of a story to tell. xD;

Katarina was always bustling and busy at this time of day, especially in the downtown district where Alex chose to live. Poking her elegant muzzle through the slats of a crate, she watched the humans running to and fro in their usual frantic pace. Why where they always in such a hurry? The inquisitive Vulpix watched a few more strangers walk by, some shouting into strange little rectangles made of plastic. Another thing she didn't understand... why were humans always so stressed out? Retreating farther into the alley she emerged on the other side of the building to avoid the herd of humans passing by. At least it was a little quieter over here.

Alex was an easy-going, playful creature. Before she used to live on the plains but life there was so dull... definitely not the place for a fun-loving young Vulpix like her! She pranced down the street, stepping with her head held high and her golden tails swaying behind her. Oh yes, she was well aware that she was beautiful, much more so than any regular Vulpix with plain orange fur in her opinion. She wasn't very vain by nature but that didn't stop her from showing off a bit just for her own amusement. Just then Alex passed by a group of children walking home from school, who stopped and pointed as she passed. Slyly she faced the children and blew a little lick of flame, drawing squeals and giggles from them. With that she bounded off, adoring all the attention. Ahh, what a great day to be alive!

Down the street she went, where the downtown area turned into a neighbourhood full of human dwellings. She snickered as she stopped at someone's front lawn and dug a little hole. Humans got so upset when their precious lawn wasn't perfect! Much to her satisfaction a man came crashing through the front door almost immediately, bellowing like an angry Tauros. Alex waved her bottom tauntingly at him from the sidewalk before she fled, avoiding a thrown object by just an inch. Silly human.

Wandering down the street, it took only moments for Alex to get bored again. She was looking for a distraction when she spotted the glint of silver that made her pulse race with glee. Bounding down a front yard she came to the garbage can, practically salivating at the delicious trick she was about to pull. The little Vulpix tackled the can, knocking it over with a burst of trash. Then she rolled in it, spreading the filth out as much as possible. If there was one thing humans hated more than wrecked lawn, this was it!

"Hey, get out of there!" Alex's fur spiked as she lept to her paws. Somehow she let a human sneak up on her! She let out a little growl as she crouched, tails in the air.

Celeste had been walking home from the store when she had spotted the Vulpix ("Oh look, it's shiny!") romping about the neighbourhood. She had watched as it dug up her grouchy neighbour's lawn (much to her own amusement), when the Vulpix decided that Celeste's trash was her plaything. She looked down at the Pokemon who, despite being small, looked like she was ready to do battle right them and there. She shuffled a foot forward and watched the Vulpix skitter away from it.

"Oh c'mon I'm not going to eat you!" Celeste said, stomping said foot. Alex pricked her ears forward to listen. Who was this strange human, with a curly red mane and blue-green eyes? The Vulpix eyed the sneaker in front of her. Look at those white worms... she pounced on Celeste's shoe and tore one of the laces off. Before Celeste could mutter a cry she pranced down the lawn, shaking the lace in her jaws and daring the human to come get it.

"Give that back you little thief!" Celeste screamed, whipping off her damaged shoe and chucking it with all her might. Alex's blue eyes widened as the sneaker flew at her and promptly bounced off her head with a thunk. Dazed Alex fell face-first into the dirt.

"Ohmaigod I killed her! Oh crap oh crap oh crap..." The teenager waved her hands in the air frantically, looking around to see if anyone witnessed the 'murder'. Death by shoe... what a way to go. She stumbled across the lawn and stuffed her foot back in the shoe, studying Alex's 'body'. "Oh god what should I do?" she asked thin air, her eyes still darting around. Then she picked up the Pokemon, who hung limply in her arms. Celeste pulled the shoelace from her jaws. "I'll go to a Pokemon Center! Yes that's right... Eww, you stink little Vulpix." Muttering to herself she started down the street, her broken shoe threatening to fall off.

While the human walked Alex snickered internally to herself. Hah, like a shoe would kill her! Sure it hurt, but her fluffy curls had kept it from doing any real damage. She might as well take advantage of this situation... no doubt the human pitied her now, and she'd get a meal out of this. Snuggling into Celeste's warm arms, she prepared to face the Pokemon Center. Playing dead was so much fun!

Alex yawned widely and stretched; rippling the fur on her back and tail as she slowly woke up from her slumber when the moonlight shined into the den where she rested easily. She held the out stretched pose for a moment before returning to a sitting state to clean her face and paws. It was pure luck that Alex had managed to find this cozy burrow when the weather was starting to turn sinister. Now that Mother Nature had calmed, it was time to find some dinner.

Alex wasn’t like the other vulpix in the outskirts of Howling Forest, she was shunned and excluded from the other pokemon in it. Instead of having the signature reddish-brown fur and deep chocolate brown eyes, her fur was mostly gold colored and eyes were peculiar, a strange thing among strange things- blue; a light, clear, blue that sparkled like the ocean. Alex was kind-hearted to the marrow of her bone, even if others around her treat her indifferently.

It was after a good amount of grooming before she went out of her hidey-hold to get her dinner, for she took pride of her appearance. She had to make sure all of the fur was straight and shiny before she went out. Her mother always told her when she was a pup to never start the day without being proud of whom she was by taking care of her coat and herself.

Even though, her mother had raised and taught her well, the action of others made her shy in social conflicts. She prefers being alone because then no one could say or do hurtful things to her. On the other hand, she was lonely. Alex wanted some companionship who would not judge her because she looked different.

After clearing her thoughts of any negativity, Alex walked out cautiously just outside of her burrow for berries. There were many berry bushes of different variety around these areas that Alex could eat many berries as she wanted without being accused of stealing another’s bunches. When Alex had eaten her fill, she licked her paw and swiped it across her muzzle and nose; cleaning the remaining juices off.

At the same time as Alex finished cleaning, an unexpected loud belch escaped her. Face turning slightly pink, Alex slinked away, hoping no one witnessed that embarrassing noise before she headed out of the forest and into the small town to explore.

It took a while but once Alex entered the village, her whole body released a lot of the tension that she had since she first woken up. Here in the village, her color attracts the kind of attention she craves. There were humans who were still lingering around, waving in greeting at the golden vulpix for Alex came to this particular village often enough that the people had named her Alexandra or Alex for short. They were kind to her and fed her when she comes up to them. Alex never ventures into their home or business but lingers outside their windows as she observes how these humans live strange lives. Even the pokemon here did not care about her strange coloration.

Alex often temped herself to start living here in the village instead of the unwelcome forest but where would she stay? There was very little hiding places that felt safe enough for her to shelter.

While Alex was wandering the town, a pokemon trainer named Kayla had just arrived after a long difficult travel on the other side of the village. A cute blue tiger looking Mew named, Snookie, was floating around in a large circle of Kayla as he ‘Oooo’ and ‘Ahhh’ at all the lights of the little city. As they passed, the town’s people would stop and stare; eyes bugged out and jaw to the floor. Kayla knew it was because of Snookie, being that he was a legendary pokemon and the rarity of seeing one was hard to believe. On top of that, it was a blue mew, not what the legend says; pink.

Kayla tried to ignore the stares but inwardly, she was preening at the attention but attention won’t put a roof over their head if they don’t do something about it. So she went around looking for a lodge that had a room available. After a few failed attempts, Kayla managed to found a lodge that had a room left and luckily for them, it was located near a spa for them to relax. And after such a long journey, they needed it, even if it was a bit pricey.

Immediately after she had settled into her room, Kayla and the whole gang headed for the spa to loosen up. Adira, the shiny Rampardos, and Grinch, the shiny cubone, forego the water dipping and just enjoyed the steam that was coming from the water from a safe distance on the deck while the rest dived in happily.

It just so happens that Alex was just passing by the very spa Kayla and her pokemon team when the vulpix heard a lot of laughing and squealing. Her curiously getting the best of her, Alex cautiously peek in-between the fence to see what was going on.

In moments, Alex saw an eevee splashed in the shallow water near the fence that the vulpix was spying though. The eevee giddily ran up and down the steamy pool, stirring up little tidal waves towards what look like a blue flying kitten, who was giggling as it dodged the water. Alex tilted her head in curiosity at the strange pokemon. It didn’t have wings, so how could it fly?

The two pokemon hadn’t noticed Alex watching their silly antics. Alex inwardly giggled, this was what she would love to do with others but alas, they would often stop what they were doing and give her cold looks before going off to a different area to play without her.

With the slight pang in her chest, Alex tore her gaze from the two and noticed three other pokemon; a girafarig, rampardos and a cubone, from the looks of it. The cubone didn’t look like any cubone she had ever seen before. Generally, cubones had light brown coat but this one was more like a forest green.

Alex eyes brighten. Maybe…maybe this pokemon is different like her. The cubone didn’t look shy or being teased by the Girafarig. That goes the same for the rampardos too, who was basking on the deck. From what Alex heard in rumors, rampardos were bluish-grey with blue markings but this one had red markings.

“Vull…”

Without realizing it, Alex sighed out loud in regret, which alerted several of the pokemon in the group. Adira went on high alert and growled “Who goes there!? Show yourself or face my wrath!”

The little blue-tiger mew tilted its head in bewilderment before teleporting to the other end of the fence, startling Alex into a large bush nearby as she tried to flee.

Giggling, Snookie floated down towards the shy vulpix and greeted her. “Hiya! My name Snookie!” He tilted his head in confusion, “Why you hidin’ under dere? Come play!”

Alex didn’t move an inch, too nervous to give cause to the rampardos’ anger. “Shhh! Please!”

The blue mew hung upside-down. “Why?” Eyes brightening. “Oh oh oh! Are playin’ hid n’ seek?”

Kayla, who noticed Adira’s tension and Snookie’s sudden disappearance, meant that there was something or someone on the other side of the fence. Horrified that it might be a peeping tom or some pervert, she immediately grabbed a towel and wrapped around herself before going off to investigate.

“What did you find, Snookie?” Kayla asked cautiously.

Snookie poked his head over the fence, grinning as he pointed down on the side he was on. Taking it as a good thing or at least anything bad, Kayla went to look over the fence, which was soon followed by Adira, Hea, the girafarig and Quin, the eevee (who climbed on the Hea’s head to see). Grinch, on the other hand, was oblivious as he was snoring away; a snort bubble forming from one of the nostril hole.

“Well, would you look at that?” Kayla whispered in awe as she noticed parts of the golden vulpix’s back that was obscured by the bush. “Come on out. We won’t hurt ya.”

Snookie tried to encourage Alex by floating low on the ground where he could see the weary eyes of the vulpix. “Yea! We just wanna play!” Snookie gently took one of Alex’s front paws and pulled slightly, causing him to come out slowly. Before Alex knew it, he was under five set of eyes, all varying in expression.

“My, aren’t you pretty.” Kayla whispered again, not wanting to frighten the poor vulpix back into hiding. “What were you doing under there?”

“Vulpix, Vul…” Alex tried to not make any eye contact with any of them but Snookie, who was floating around happily above him.

After Adira realized it was just a little fox, she snorted in disinterest and walked off back to where Grinch was snoring away. She knew that the other pokemon will watch out for their trainer. Snookie, wanting Kayla to understand what the little vulpix was saying, he sent the general idea of it. N-nothing…

Kayla was again startled by Snookie’s ability of telepathy but slowly getting use to it. Nodding to Snookie in thanks, Kayla looked back at the vulpix with a smile. “Well, do you want to come join us? There’s plenty of room for one more.”

Alex blinked in astonishment. No one, not even a human in this town had ever asked her to join them in their home or activities before. Even as Alex thoughts were running in circles, everyone around Alex and Kayla nodded and chattered their agreement. Kayla then started heading back towards the spa and looked back to see if the golden vulpix was following only to find it rooted where Kayla last seen it.

Smiling sadly. “Well, you are welcome to join us, if you wish.” With that, Kayla turned back to the pool. She didn’t want to pressure the poor vulpix into something it wasn’t comfortable doing. “Come on guys.”

Everyone but Snookie followed Kayla back towards the pool. Snookie frowned in confusion. “Wazzamatter? You no wanna play?” The little mew’s ears lowered sadly.

“I-I do but…I don’t know…” Alex stuttered shyly as she stared at the fence, trying to gather the courage to join them. Oh she really wanted to join but could this be a trick? No…it didn’t sound like it…

Snookie smiled widely. “Come on! It be real fun! Pretty Pleeze! Wit a Pecha berry on top? ”

Alex laughed lightly if not nervously. “A-alright. I guess…”

“Yay! It be real fun! We can do lots of things like…” Snookie went on and on about games they could play together.

As they reached the fence, Snookie helped Alex over by using his psychic and floated Alex over the fence and onto the deck, much to Alex’s surprise. Everyone smiled brightly when they saw the golden vulpix finally decided to join them after all. Kayla chuckled softly. Snookie definitely had that charm about him to win anyone over as Snookie slowly released the vulpix onto to ground. Not wanting to scare away the tentative vulpix, Kayla turned her attention back to how great the water felt so relaxing.

Snookie came to float beside Alex as they slowly approach the hot pool. “Ze brown eebee is Quin. Ze reelly tall pokemon name Hee-a. Ze nappy one is Grinch, ze meanie one is Adreea but she okay sometimes and the human name Kayla. Wat yor name?”

Smiling shyly, the vulpix replied softly. “Alex.”

Snookie did a flip in mid air as he shouted. “He name is Alex!”

Alex laughed, slowly getting pass her nervousness. “Her. I’m a girl.”

Snookie’s eyes widen. “Reelly? Alex not boy name?”

Alex nodded. “Yeah it is but it can be a girl name too.”

“Oh.” Snookie pondered that for a moment before losing interest and started flying around the pool, throwing bullet seeds near the other pokemon to create a splash and giggling. “Play!”

Alex decided to follow the legendary’s suit, dipped a paw into the water and smiled at warmth of the water. After a few moments, Alex settled all four paws into the warm hot pool. Everyone in the pool, who was watching, nodded in encouragement. Quin swam up to the content vulpix, affectionately slapping the pokemon on her behind and yelling tag. Startled, Alex jumped slightly and slipped on the smooth stones in the shallow pool causing her to sink slightly into the water. The vulpix resurfaced to prevent him from going under again and swam after the eevee, grinning. The other pokemon in the water joined in on the game while Kayla watched in amusement.

The game went on for a good while. Alex had managed to retag Quin, which in turn tagged Hea who clever enough to tag Snookie. They all laughed and shouted throughout the game. Alex was no longer afraid or shy. She was having fun for the first time in …she has no idea how long.

As they played, the hostess of the lodge came by to deliver some towels for the group and noticed the little golden vulpix with them and she smiled happily. Bending down next to Kayla, who was sitting on the edge on the pool, watching as well, she whispered. “Well I am glad that you had managed to help our friend there. We have been trying to help the poor dear but she would run off before we had the chance to.” Tutting softly.

Kayla looked up at the hostess. “She comes by often then?”

Nodding. “She sure does; maybe not here, exactly but all over town. We feed her when she’s daring enough to approach us but otherwise she hangs around town with a healthy distance from anyone.”

“Does she have a name?” Kayla asked.

“Well, I don’t know if she belonged to anyone before she came to our town but we call her Alex, short for Alexandra.”

“Alex…” Kayla tested the name on her tongue as she watched the vulpix play happily with her team. It looked like Alex was displaying no bashfulness now. Quin and Snookie were playfully trying to dunk Alex under water but the golden vulpix was able to escape their plans and ran out the deck to avoid their plot, happily.

The hostess watched Kayla watch Alex and smiled sadly. “As it would pain us to see her leave, it would do her a great deal of good if Alex went with you and your team. Alex needs to learn that everyone isn’t out to get her. Then maybe, she can become the little sunshine that we know she could be.”

With that, the hostess bowed and left Kayla to her thoughts. Alex was now in the center of the pool with all of her pokemon around her as she did most of the chattering; maybe it was a story of sorts. Kayla smiled.

Kayla glanced down at her wristwatch and noticed that it was getting late and they had better hit the sack or it would be impossible getting up early.

“Alright guys! It’s time to get out of the pool and rest.”

Everyone basically sighed in regret in their own ways before getting out of the spa. Alex on the other hand, stood rooted again in the center of the pool, looking devastated. So this is it. Her little time heaven on earth as come to an end and she would have to go back to her normal life. Alex watched as Kayla called Adira and Grinch back into their pokeballs.

Alex started to form tears without realizing it. She didn’t want the best night in her life to end. Alex watched as Hea, Quin was called back into their pokeballs too, which left Snookie and Kayla.

Alex suddenly felt a poke on her head before she realized it was Snookie, frowning at her. “Why sad?” But Alex just shook her soaked head before slowly leaving the pool.

“Come on, Snookie. Time to go.” Kayla could see that Alex did not want to end the night. Snookie watched Alex leave the pool before looking back at Kayla with a confused look. Kayla smiled gently at Snookie before turning her attention back at Alex.

“Alex…” Kayla called softly.

Alex froze for a moment at the mention of her name before looking sadly back at the human, Kayla.

“Do you want to join us?”

Alex sad expression turns into a very teary surprise. Could what she just heard be true? Did this human, Kayla wants her to join or did she mean just tonight…

Kayla could see that Alex was confused but smiled anyway. “Come on, we have plenty of room. It’s much more comfortable in here than out here, don’t you agree?”

“Vulpix.” Alex nodded slowly before walking up to Kayla. Could it be true? Was this all a dream? As Snookie was happily flying around inside the lodge, Alex slowly followed the human. Maybe this was only for tonight or maybe, just maybe it would be more…who knows. However, Alex did know one thing; she was going to make the best out of this as much as she can and when it and if it ends, she will treasure this moment for the rest of her life and beyond.
