"Uh, no. No, I'm good," Henri said, wobbling on his arms. His biceps were visibly trembling. "Aw, Hell. Yeah. Soon as I dry off, I'll have my legs back." Where he was supposed to go, though, he didn't know. He did, however, make it under the overhand. Alright. He could start drying now.
And then he remembered the child had spoken.
"Yeah, just like you," he said, laying down and crossing his arms. He was definitely strong, but even the strongest got tired.
"Uh-uh," Izzy corrected, shaking her head and bapping at her father's fin, "Fishy! Emmet snakey!" A small difference, but a difference still!

Okay, now Emmet didn't know WHAT to think. "B-But your Papa jus' said I was..." His eyebrows narrowed a little bit, trying to figure out. He stared up at Riley as if calling on him as a tie breaker.
"Izzy's right Emmet." He said quickly to relieve the confusion in the little boy's face, then moved to look at Henri. "Problem with that is, if you dry out here and its not done raining by then, you'll get your tail back." Riley leaned out to look at the dark sky. "I don't think its going to let up."
"Izzy wanna play in the mud?" Emmet asked, staring at the puddles that were so close to them. He'd seen other kids play in the mud, it looked like fun. A scaredy snake he may be, but he was still a boy and boys were known for doing things like playing in the mud.

"Aw, man, good point," Henri sighed. He rolled onto his back and took off his shirt, tying it around his currently-hidden naughty bits, "C'mon." He headed into the building behind them, which seemed to be the food court. Most people had either headed for their cars or the food court, so they were definitely among others and getting a few stares.
Izzy tapped her chin. Mud was dirty, and Daddy didn't like it when she got dirty, but it was raining water! Water would make her clean!
"Okay!"
She took off her shoes and stepped into a mud puddle, giggling as the mud squished between her toes.

Emmet made a little gleeing noise, then moved out from under the protection of the building, letting his tail get niiice and muddy. He leaned down and put his hands in the mud, squishing it with his fingers. Ew, it felt weird! Picking up a bit of it, he squashed it between his hands, then let it slide off of his scales and back down to the ground. "Fun!"
Riley moved to follow Henri, holding open the door for him and waiting to see if the muscled man needed any help at all. Emmet had a hard time doing some things, but unlike Henri, Emmet was built to be able to move on solid ground. It wasn't until they were both inside that he noticed that there weren't two little heads near them. "Uhh Henri...I think the mud claimed the kids." He groaned a little bit, glancing outside just in time to see Emmet squish the mud between his hands.

Henri pulled himself up onto a bench seat and lounged, relaxing. Aah~ "Hey, whatever. We all did that as kids, didn't we?" He crossed his arms behind his head, eyes closing.
Izzy just giggled, copying Emmet at first, and then deciding to lay on her back in the mud. Her plates got squishy and her girdle got warmer. Yay!
"Fun!"

Riley just made a little noise of agreement; but to be honest, he couldn't remember if he did or not. He didn't really remember his childhood at all, just bits and pieces. Oh well. He sat down and settled into silence.
"Mmhm!" Emmet agreed, picking up some mud in his hands again. There was a little flash of inspiration, and started tossing the little handfull of mud form one scaley little hand to the other. "Mud fight?" He suggested then, unsure as to whether or not she'd want to...well she was muddy already! It was just up to her if she wanted her clothes muddy too. Emmet didn't really wear clothes so it didn't matter to him if he got muddy.

Izzy looked down at her clothes. Errr...sure, why not?!
"Ya!" she said, tossing a little mudball at Emmet. Yay!

"Gack!" Was his little cry when he was caught in the cheek with a little mud ball. Laughing, he scooped up some mud and tossed it at her. There little mud fight continued for a while, until both of them were a little bit sick of being muddy and they decided to go back inside to their parents; poor Emmet's scales were no longer white!
Riley wrinkled up his nose at the mudcaked Emmet, then looked up to see the rain was starting to subside, which was always a plus. It seemed to work out perfectly that the kids got tired when the sun started to come out. Sigh. "Wow Emmet, you need a bath." He said, ruffling the boy's hair, which had since aquired little spots of brown where the mud caked. "Well...looks like its clearing up outside. How're you doing, Henri?"

"Dry," Henri said, still lounging with his shirt acting as makeshift pants. He eyed Izzy and chuckled, shaking his head.
"Alright, you. We should get home. You need a bath, and Daddy needs pants."
"Okay," Izzy said, sounded a bit dejected. She just stood there, though, and watched as her father ran out for his soaked pants and came back with a nigh-untouched business card. Yay for lamination! He handed the card to Riley as he hefted Izzy up onto a now-muddied hip.
"Call me. The kids got along well, and I wouldn't mind taking Emmet off your hands for a bit," he said, and then gave a little wave as he walked back toward the parking lot. The drizzle outside wasn't enough to turn him again.
"See ya."
Izzy waved frantically at Emmet. "BYE-BYE!"

Riley nodded, taking the card from Henri. "Perfect, I'll give you a shout later." The military man agreed, more than willing to taking Izzy off of his hands...just as long as she entertained Emmet and visa-versa. "Goodbye."
Emmet pouted when he realized Izzy was leaving, and when Riley went to pick him up, he clung to his now-muddy guardian with one arm and waved back just as frantically with the other. "Bye bye Iddy!" He called after her, then snuggled against Riley when the Military man moved towards their own car.
