Her heart pattered in her chest when he smiled at her like that, *get a hold of yourself* she thought to herself then. When he brought the leaf to the river she followed after a moment of watching how he moved and enjoying the view, after shaking her head at those thoughts at well. Sitting near the rivers edge she glanced down in the water a moment and then around the area, it was truly a lovely little place, "do you come here often?" She then asked and then almost could hit herself at that totally sounding like a pick up line.

"I have passed by it a few times during my wanderings. I have no true place I call my own, I see no need in feuding with other otters. And I would rather not get caught in the....affairs that seem to be unraveling in this place as of late." he said as he laid himself down.

"Oh?" She asked curiously moving to go and lay down next to him. "What sort of affairs would those be?" she didn't really want to pry into anything but she was rather curious as to what he meant by that statement, and discovering that he was a wanderer well that could prove interesting as well if she ever wanted to see him again and she knew deep down that she did, she wanted very muchly to be able to see him again.

"It seems the time of wolves and bobcats bringing fear to the reserve has been pushed aside. Otters are now preying on other otters. Attacking them, drinking their blood....stealing their pups." he said looking ahead with an emotionless face, though inside he was seething at the thought. "None of attacked me....none would dare to attack me." he growled.

At hearing this news Nyx suddenly felt cold and shuddered at the thought, and unconsciously she moved closer to Samael. "Thats aweful..." she said at a mere whisper afraid if she spoke any louder her voice might crack and show just how much that thought really bothered her.

He felt her get closer and he got closer as well, not wanting her feel any fear, not with him around, "Do not worry, I doubt they would attack you, you are a demon, and not only that, you are an elder, Elders are not so easily preyed upon." he said in reassurance.

She nodded silently, but she couldn't help but think of the more helpless ones, she was a demon sure but she still couldn't see how other otters could steal away baby otters from their parents, that was just aweful. She shudder again, "you don't... you're not staying anywhere?" she asked then even though he had already kind of said the answer to this question.

"Though I do have a family and there is a main den, I have no place I truly call my own." he said with a simple shrug, watching the water rushing by.

"I see..." she replied her tail flicking lightly behind her. She too looked at the water moving trying to figure out how to word things. Resting her head on her paws she said in the best casual manner she could, "well if you ever need a place to sleep thats nice and quiet, you could always crash at my den."

Inwardly he was quite surprised when she made her offer, but on the outside he gave a small smile of thanks, "Thank you, I shall have to take it one of these days." he said, nodding his head to her.

Nyx laughed ever so slightly and shrugged, "not really a big deal or anything, its bigger then what I need and well I don't know how big your family is but I know some families are well rather large around here and I could imagine some dens could get rather loud and crowded."

"My family isn't as large as some groups can get, but they seem to have just about every otter you can find here. Demonics, angelics, regular, even pirates." he explained, stretching his wings a bit.

"That must be nice, having so many to be around, always having someone to look out for the other..." she replied her thoughts drifting off to what he said about otters attacking otters and shuddered again.

He nodded his head, but was quiet for the time, seething over the fact one of his family was stolen. He couldn't begin to think as to where the pup could be....or if he would ever be found.

Nyx after some time in silence glanced over at Samael and could tell something was bothering him. Leaning over she nudge his shoulder with her nose. "Everything ok?"
