"M...murder?" Carlos' ears flattened as his whole body went rather limp in Adrian's arms. "No way... he'd never do something like that." It was just too much of a shock for him to wrap his brain around. He could never believe that his own father would kill someone on purpose. Wouldn't he have done that to Adrian for trying to kill Horea? As unbelievable as it was to him, a thought occurred to him... maybe his mother had left because of something like that? The thought was vague and ridiculous yet powerful all at once.
"Well... I worry..." he struggled to form words of reply. He really did worry about Adrian, especially when they were apart. Who knew what kind of trouble he might get into. Though that was supposed to be changing now...
(( And no, that's not why Haru left. XD ))

Adrian hugged Carlos tighter. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put that in your head. I'm sure your dad would never do something like that." He really didn't mean to make Carlos worry like that.
"I know, and I wouldn't have you any other way, got it? Just don't worry so much it makes you sick." The rat didn't want the unicat to get sick because he was too busy worrying about Adrian.

Carlos snuggled into the other's shoulder and thought about that head lock Jimi had held Adrian in. "No... he could have killed you. But he didn't... he's not like that," he said softly with a little smile.
"Good. I like you the way you are too..." He lifted his head with a grin and kissed Adrian lightly. "Just don't make me worry and you've got a deal."

Adrian looked at Carlos. "No, he's not like that. I couldn't see Jimi killing anyone unless they hurt a certian unicat beyond repair."
He smiled slightly when Carlos kissed him. He had missed the unicat so much, he couldn't even describe it. It was so nice to have him back around, even if it is just for a little bit.

"Hm, I'd rather that not happen..." Carlos frowned pensively, leaning his head back down against Adrian's shoulder. "I've been thinking lately that I should learn how to fight so nobody will have to worry about me. My dad knows how to box... not just bar fighting, but like a boxer... What do you think?" He looked up at Adrian and balled a fist lightly, swinging it over his head. Then with a grin he tapped the rat gently on the chin with it.

"I think that's a good idea. Everyone should know how to defend themselves at least a little bit. And if you know how to fight, then I won't have to worry about you too much." Having Carlos learned to fight is an excellent idea, especially if Jimi is the one to teach him.

"I'm glad you think so... I wasn't sure whether I should or even if I would be very good at it... I'm not much of a fighter. But everyone needs to know how to handle themselves," the unicat nodded.

"If you don't lose your temper we'll be fine!" Carlos stated confidently. "And you've been working on that, so there isn't going to be a problem. Right?" he looked up at Adrian with a grin.

"Right, I don't want to hurt you again, which is the main reason why I wanted to work on my temper. I don't like hurting you." He kissed the top of Carlos' head. "You're to precious to hurt."

Carlos hugged him tightly upon hearing those words. To think that Adrian used to shy away from saying such things. His tail wound around the other's lower leg. "Thank you, Adrian."

"Thank you for what? I was just stating a fact." Adrian didn't realize that what he said was a major thing for Carlos. "It's not like what I said isn't common knowledge among those who know you."

"I know... it's just that you never used to say such things, even though I knew how you felt... So hearing you say it means a lot to me." He smiled happily, tail unfurling and waving about behind him, and licked the rat's chin with his sandpaper tongue.

"Oh, well, I guess that shows you how well my temper management is going and that I'm somewhat getting over my past." He shivered slightly when Carlos licked him, not used to that kind of contact.

"Yeah," the unicat purred, "I think you're doing a great job!" He blinked curiously as the other shivered. Then he remembered, of course, the texture of his tongue was not typical for anyone but a cat... "Did that hurt? I'm so sorry!"
(( xD He's been warned by several people that cat-tongue can hurt, so he's not actually being an idiot... >>; ))
