After some time Maiya finally put down her pencil and looked over her work once more. With a smile and a nod, she said. "Finished!" She looked over at Donnie and showed off the sketch, hoping that he would think that it looked good.

Donnie just looked at it for a moment in silence. It was the best drawing he had ever seen, and it looked just liked the mountain. Finally he he turned his gaze to Maiya and said, "Wow...you're really good!"

"Thanks! I try my best," Maiya modestly said. Not that she doubted her abilities to draw a nice picture. If someone had said that their three year old human could do a better job then she would demand proof as politely as she could. Smiling, she looked up at the sun to see how much time had passed since she started. She couldn't really tell time from the sun, but if the sun had moved a lot since she last checked she could get an idea.

Donnie followed her gaze past the mountain and towards the sun. It was a pretty sight. He wondered when or if it would snow. He turned back to her and tilted his head to the side slightly. "What do you want to do now?"

Maiya thought for a minute. What would a good thing to do at the moment? She really couldn't think of anything (especially since it wasn't close to sunset), so she decided on something off the mountain. "Do you think there will be any seashore scenes in the story?"

Donnie thought for a moment. He hadn't yet come up with anything specific.
"If you want there to be..." he answered, figuring he could come up with anything based on the pictures she drew. He really was looking forward to a story with pictures.
((Did we have a story idea in mind? Because I can't remember...owo)

Maiya smiled and said, "Okay, let's head off to the beach." She started to walk down the other path, the one they hadn't taken, in hopes of seeing something cool that they might want to include in their as-of-yet unwritten tale.

Donnie nodded and followed her along the other path. He smiled at her choice to take the other one. He hadn't been down that path before, and he too wanted to see something new. He chuckled lightly, "I hope this doesn't lead us to the middle of no where..."

"If it does it would be one remarkable adventure," commented Maiya with a smile. They would have to find their ways home, and that could be a bit fun (if a bit scary at the same time). She really couldn't help it, being a descendent of a Halloween namir.

Donnie smiled back and shook his head lightly in slight awe. He was getting to know her better now, and it was so like her to say something positive of them getting lost.
"I guess you're right. It would take a lot to ruin this day anyway..." He smiled at Maiya, wondering if she would catch on to his last statement. He really had a good day because of her.

"Agreed. Today's been a lot of fun. I'm glad I get to spend it with you," Maiya said with a smile, with no hint of embarrassment. She found herself almost hoping that they would get lost, so that she could spend more time getting to know Donnie. Though even if they didn't veer off the path towards home, there will always be another day to hang out.

Donnie blushed slightly. She was glad she got to spend the day with him. He liked that.
"If you want...maybe we can spend another day together sometime soon?" Well, they did need to finish their story after all. But after spending time with her, it was really the last thing on his mind. He was glad to have someone he liked sharing company with.

"I'd like that. I'd like that a lot," Maiya replied. She would be overjoyed to be able to spend another day with Donnie. It seemed like after a while of sadness and monotony things were finally looking up. Maybe deciding to keep away from her mother was a good thing after all! She silently hoped that seeing Akiko again wouldn't jinx her current good luck, especially since she can't avoid her mother forever. "Any idea of where we should go on that day?" She thought it over a bit, but nothing leapt forward in her mind immediately.

"Hmm..." Donnie thought it over too. "Well, Namiah has the variety of things...mountains, rivers, beaches, forests...take your pick," he said, smiling in her direction. "Of course we've already been to the mountains today, and we still have yet to find out where this path leads..."

(To the Waterfall maybe? That would mean that they'd have to encounter a river pretty soon. 3nodding )
"Very true. I'll think of someplace to go after we figure out where this path leads us," she replied happily. She wondered if they should just go exploring in a place neither of them have been before and see where it leads them. Who knows what kind of adventure they could have simply exploring.
