Elfshaman Wow you guys know alot of books. ok i only have a few cause i just started but two good reference books are Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs by scott cunningham and also his book on stones called Crstal, Gems and Metal magic. they probably arent the fansiest or anything but they are simple and well organized to allow you to find the herbs or stones you're looking for as well as he gives a quick 101 course on how to prepare and use herbs and stones. your the first person to mention him i live his books verry easy to follow and broken down well

Aaah! I'm absolutely living for this thread! So impressed by everyone's suggestions -- will definitely be returning to this thread for reading inspiration.
This might be a bit out there, but I'd like to suggest Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time' series for the Occult Fiction section. It's a fantasy series that has definitely influenced my spirituality, which sounds weird & nerdy but it's true! His magic system is essentially the same as mine: basically, raw magic issues from a universal life force that drives the metabolic processes of the world. This magic or energy is then split into the five elements (air, fire, water, earth, spirit), and these elements are combined in various ways to cause magical changes in the world. Love it!
