He stayed silent about the blush, still, not wanting to tease her in any way, shape or form.
Why ruin the moment?
Instead he just smiled a bit, staring at the sky, feeling her head against his neck. He shifted slightly, dipping his head to nuzzle her twice.
"...So then, Kahili, Tell me; Will you stay with me another night?" He asked her gently, deciding not to look her in the eyes quite yet, figuring it would still make the other a little uneasy, at that moment.

Kahili smiled more at his nuzzle, returning it with a playful n** at his muzzle. She didn’t have to think too much about his question since she’d been thinking about this practically all day. “Well I suppose I have to. There’s no way I’d make it down this mountain in the dark in one piece. Plus it’s pretty cold out up here and you’re very warm,” she giggled. “So yes, I’ll stay one more night with you.” She smiled again and then looked around at where they were standing. “Where are we going to stay though? Surely not out in the open like this, knowing me I’d roll right off the cliff.” With a snort she looked over the edge briefly before backing up a step, putting her head back against him.

He chuckled a bit, closing his eyes finally, letting his body relax down slightly.
"...Like I'd let you roll off. I'd lay down next to yo, so the only way you'd roll down was if I did first..." he chuckled a bit, nuzzling her again, before really taking the question into consideration.

He glanced around, pressing his lips together slightly. Hmm..
He saw only one thing.
A short bit away, there was a smooth patch of grass that apparently hadn't yet been covered by rocks over the years. There was plenty of stone around it though, that would act almost as a barrier, if either of them decided in the sleep to go Barrel rolling, without a Barrel.

Autiren sighed a bit, nodding once, before nosing her in the direction, slipping over to the patch of grass, blinking to find that the grass actually stretched in a long path around the mountain.. one he apparently hadn't so well noticed before.
His brows furrowed a bit, as he tilted his head, stepping around to follow with his gaze, to where the path of grass really led.
For a good moment of silence, he just squinted his eyes, staring at the grass, and the things around it.
"Hmm.. stay here, Kahili.. Alright?" He said softly, looking at her, nosing her once gently, before following the grass around, eying the side of the mountain beside him.

..What? He blinked a few times, noticing how the stone curved in quickly. He paused a bit, ear flicking. A cave?....How come I didn't see this before?" He glanced around slightly, trying to figure out if there was something he'd missed... that would've made it impossible to spot this little cave from below.
Finally he just sighed, giving up. He turned his head back to the cave, slowly pressing inside. It was small.... very small... only went back about Four or five feet.
Still, it was light enough outside, to see easily into the small little cavern, and see that it was completely empty.
...This was just as shocking as actually FINDING the cave.

The cave itself was again, small, and placed directly underneath that slab of rock the two had just been on minutes earlier.
The stallion let out a sigh, smile finally returning to his lips.
He turned again, peeking out of the cave. "Kahili!" He called, stepping forward a bit so the mare could see him, and would come.
A private little cave for the night... Hopefully That would break any chances of Either of them rolling off the side of the mountain...

Kahili waited where she was told to stay and watched him wander out of sight with her head tilted a bit. What if something happened to him? Something could jump out from behind a rock and take him by surprise! Roll him off the cliff! Just as her mind went through more and more bad things that could happen to him while he was searching, she heard him yell her name. In an instant she sprung forward, running down the grassy path and almost ran head first into him. “What!? What’s wrong?!” She looked around frantically for anything attacking him but there was nothing. Just him and her. Then she saw the smile on his face and let out a long sigh. “I thought something had gotten you or something.” After a short pause she nipped at his neck. “Don’t scare me like that!” Before she could yell at him more she saw the small little hole in the rock that could be called a cave depending on how you looked at it. But it seemed this was home for the night. She trotted past him into the small space and lay down, the front half of her body sticking out of the hole because it was so small. “It’s better than nothing right?”

Autiren blinked, raising his brows as she came bounding over. "Don't worry.. Don't worry. I'm fine... Didn't mean to scare you, or anything, Kahili..." He said gently, keeping his voice soft and calm.

His head nodded once afterwords, a sigh slipping out. "Yes.. Much, much better than nothing." He said, moving into the little 'cave' after her, laying down close next to her, feeling the cold on the ground beneath them. The stallion scooted closer to Kahili a bit, sharing his body warmth with the other.
He looked at her, staring into her bright eyes for a moment, before looking her over, another smile growing on his lips.

Kahili snuggled into his side for his warmth and relaxed after a long day’s hike. She glanced up at him and caught him smiling at her again. “What’re you smiling about now?” she asked as a small smile crept its way onto her face. Despite them being up at high altitudes and it was starting to get colder by the minute, she was happy here. With him. Just like before, he made her feel safe. Saying he’d make sure nothing got her and that she wouldn’t fall off the cliff unless he had fallen first. Fallen…Was she falling for him? In only two short days? No...that was ridiculous. No one fell for another in that short of time…Right?

Had he really been staring?
Autiren blinked, brows raising once again, gaze snapping back to meet her own. "Huh-what?" He stuttered a bit, shaking his head after. "No. It's nothing... I'm just smiling. What, I can't smile?" He forced down the smile, putting a strong pout on his face, having to clench his jaw to fight back a grin and a laugh both.

His train of thought was... very much so connected to that of Kahili's. Autiren... Why do you care so much to be around her? A question he'd asked himself constantly over the past two days. She's just a mare... a weak little mare... Wait.. No.. she isn't weak! She's a strong mare... not many mares could make it all the way up this mountain running... and could withstand this cold... The pout didn't stick around long, but faded away to a very plain expression.. No smile, but no frown. His eyes seemed a little distant, even as he looked over the mare again. ...But still.. Why do I care?
He knew why he cared, though he wouldn't admit it.. not yet.. not until he knew whether or not Kahili felt the same.. or at least similar.

She shrugged with another smile and snuggled her head up against him again. “Sure. Smile all you want. But after a while if you keep smiling for no reason it’ll start to get a little weird.” She laughed quietly. She had to put this nonsense to the back of her mind. He was a friend. A very good friend that did nice things for her. That was it. Now just to get some well deserved sleep and wake up refreshed to leave…Leave. She was ready to leave after today since she hadn’t planned on spending another night with him. But could she leave tomorrow? Just leave him behind until fate decided when to bring them together again? Honestly she didn’t know at this point. “We should get some sleep. It took a lot of work to get up here.”

Autiren chuckled yet again, staring off to the darkened horizon. The sky only had a few bits of gold streaking it in places... the rest was a mix of black and blue, with small, white stars sparkling gently.

"...I never smile for No reason." He said with a grin, letting out a slight sigh, and a shiver after. The cold was Really getting to him now. He carefully pressed his body against the mare's, glancing at her as he did so. Oh how cold the night would be... even together.
"But you're right... Let's sleep..." Autiren breathed, tilting his head to lightly nuzzle her once, before closing his eyes, dipping his head down slightly.

Kahili felt him shiver and tried to get closer but there really was no way to get any closer than they already were. Hopefully the small amount of heat they created between the two of them would be enough to keep them alive for the night. Giving his cheek a nuzzle she whispered, “Goodnight, Autiren,” before drifting off to sleep herself. This time her dreams were good. Possibly a little too good.

As light started to creep up on them, lighting up everything below, she found herself shivering a bit. Besides her face which seemed a bit too warm. Once she had woken up a bit more she realized her face was warm from…blushing. That’s when her dreams from the night before came back and it all made sense why she was blushing now of all times. Those dreams came out of nowhere and now they’d probably be stuck in her mind for ages.

Shaking the thoughts away she shifted lightly and nuzzled her body against him again. It was a chilly morning and they both probably wouldn’t warm up until they started down the mountain. But she could wait until he woke up before rising to find something to eat.

This time, Autiren had truly been the one to wake up first, though he hadn't moved an inch, having not wanted to wake her before she had gotten enough sleep.
Despite the cold... he slept.. amazingly well. While thinking of her, of course. Well... He did have one dream about his older sister yelling at him about risking both his life, and that of his Mare-friend's for sleeping in a cave... on a mountain... Both of which could be dangerous.
Maybe his dream was more of a premonition...
Autiren grimaced slightly as he thought back to the dream.... rather.. the Nightmare, twitching enough to let him catch out of the corner of his eyes, Kahili... awake.

He smiled a bit, shifting slightly to nuzzle her a bit, letting out some sort of low 'murr' of sorts. "...Good morning..." He said lowly, closing his eyes yet again and stifling a yawn.

Kahili blinked when she felt him nuzzle her and looked up to find that he was actually awake this time. “Oh. Good morning. Um, despite the cold I assume you slept well?” She herself had barely noticed the cold until she had woken up. But that was just her. She inched forward a bit and stretched her neck out to tear up some of the grass that made up the path that led them to the cave. It wasn’t as fresh like down on the ground but it would have to do for the time being. “You better get a good breakfast for the journey back down the mountain. We’ll both need the energy.”

"I barely noticed the cold.." He lied. He'd noticed the cold... it'd actually played a part in one of his dreams, even.... But he wouldn't mention That, either.
He shifted once again as she moved towards the grass. He nodded in agreement. "You're right... And there's plenty of grass here for just the two of us..." He said, typical grin marking his lips. Again he nuzzled her a bit, letting out a quiet sigh, before shifting a third time, to push himself up onto his hoofs with a slight grunt, stretching his body, then leaning his head down to the grass, in one, smooth movement.

...All while keeping his gaze on her.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 24, 2008 8:40 pm

Kahili groaned a bit as he got up, leaving her once warm side now exposed to the cold, making her shiver. She also stood up and stretched before coming up to his side, making sure to keep body contact so she could get warm again as they grazed. It sure would be nice to get back on the ground and have some nice fresh grown grass instead of this stuff. Maybe an apple or two too. Though she had to think about what had crossed her mind last night. Would she be able to just walk away from him? At this point it just didn’t seem possible. But what about her journeys, her traveling. Could she stay stuck in one place, even if it was with him? She still didn’t know what to do.

Once she’d felt she had enough to eat, or more once she felt she couldn’t stand the taste anymore she lifted her head to look at him. “We’d better get going. The sooner down, the sooner we’ll warm up. Or at least I hope so.” And with that, she turned to head down the grassy path back to the rocky path that led down the mountain.

Autiren shivered as he ate, even with the mare by his side. The grass was cold and bitter, the air the same.
He finished eating not too long after Kahili, taking a moment then to just try to get the taste of the grass out of his mouth... Not that it'd work. The taste decided to linger right on his tongue, forcing a sigh out of him.

At the sound of the others suggestion, he sighed again, however now soundlessly. Autiren nodded his head halfheartedly, stifling another yawn that wanted to come.
Obviously he was still a little sleepy.
"....Yeah. Let's get going.." He said lowly, nudging the mare slightly, before following after her.
