Seth flew in high above the enclosed beach town. She immediately spotted the dark sphere engulfing a good portion of the town square. "Well, he certainly didn't need a more precise description on the flier." Seth tilted and began to descend toward the ground preparing to set Maryl down and land.

Maryl felt a bit guilty seeing the big black dome in the center of town. After all of her new experiences, she had forgotten about that day in Pelions. Her memory didn't hold anything about a big black hole but she knew it had to be caused by her before she was whisked away. "Set me down."

A bit baffled by the sudden order, Seth approached the ground and slowed down, setting Maryl down before starting to hover toward the void. "What's up?" She asked, turning her head a bit to look back at Maryl.

Maryl shook her head, leaving the distraction behind. "It's nothing. I think I can take care of this, hang on." She jogged up to the sphere standing just inches away from the surface. With a quick wave of a hand, her staff began to glow and levitate between her and the void. "I might need some time."

Seth shrugged and looked around. The area was pretty quiet and dead. "Well, no rush." She started pacing around quietly waiting.

A dark winged creature with claws and a tail emerged from the top of the sphere. It glowered down upon the two girls and hissed viciously.

Seth almost jumped out of her shoes seeing the winged thing out of the corner of her eye. She turned to face it and leered at it. "s**t... So much for no rush." She quickly drew her revolver and fired once at the creature, aiming for its face.

Caught off guard, the small winged thing was devastated by the gunshot. It fell backward skimming back into the void. As it did dozens of much larger creatures emerged from the portal. One pointed and roared at Seth.

"And with that, my hopes of an easy run are dashed." Seth shook her head in disappointment, as she did she fired into another creature and started pacing away from Maryl to lead them off.

A group of the first three dove at seth all bearing their claws to slash and gouge at her, the rest began to rise into the air, preparing to swarm down upon the intruders.

Remaining calm and now somewhat focused, Seth switched her gun for her sword. To start off, she intercepted the front runner of the trio diving at her by pointing her sword forward and charging into it at blinding speed to impale it and force it back. Immediately following that, she rolled to duck the second one and stood up slashing at the third a few times to open up a combo.

The first creature was completely caught off guard, as the shock subsided it went limp from being impaled and flopped backward like a ragdoll. The second creature became frustrated missing its attack. It began to conjure some flames into its hands as it watched its enemy flay into the third creature.
The majority of the swarm began to spread out taking its time to observer their target.

Maryl tilted her head hearing a rising commotion behind her. She had to focus on the spell but that didn't mean she couldn't perceive some of of what was going on around her. "Sarah? What's going on?"

Seth turned her focus to the second creature, doing another high speed charge and stabbing it before quickly switching to her gun and shooting it in the face. She turned back toward Maryl as she reloaded, hearing Maryl ask a question. "Nothing, just keep concentrating. No worries." She switched weapons again and looked back up toward the building swarm.
