"I'll say..." Lorey was blushing like mad as they stepped into the sleek elevator, and just a little discombobulated from being dipped and set to rights so quickly. Still, she was smiling just as much as him.
"So everything is alright between you and your mother... She was difficult at first, but then... she asked me how she could make things better between you two. What did she say?" Lorey was curious if his mother had indeed did as she was instructed to.

Richard just shook his head, still smiling as he led her into the elevator. "Well...it was awkward as all hell I'll be honest..." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. "We ended up just hitting some sensitive issues between us that we had been to afraid to before. She said she was sorry for closing me out after father died...And I apologized for shutting her out after Rose died..." He sighed. "It was good...It was really good..."

Lorey tackled him in a hug as they descended. She appreciated the closeness, too, because descending elevators always made her slightly sick.
"That is so wonderful, Richard. I knew she would go ahead and do it, I knew she would..."
She was on the verge of tears because of the happiness and relief she felt for him. "Now our family has grown."

Richard closed his eyes, his arm around her and just smiled. "It sure has..." He sighed contently, just relishing the moment. When they finally reached the bottom, Richard LEd Lorey back out into the crsp night air. He took his jacket off to wrap around her shoulders as he began looking for a taxi to call.

-------------------- Jess was busy finishing up her last minute preparations for that evening. She had simply mentioned she was going out that night to her mother who was preoccupied with looking up the latest trends online while their house keeper and, Jess believed, her mothers only true companion, Maria, just tidied up here and there. They're penthouse apartment was rather large, though it was still not as nice as some of the homes on the richer end of town. Though really she paid it no mind as she spritzed a little subtle perfume on, trying to not be so nervous. She looked lovely however, despite her butterflies. She wore a stylish yet short Dress with stockings, a pair of sleek books, and a warm cardigan to keep herself form freezing to death. It was all topped off with a pretty neclace under a warm scarf. She stood in front of her mirror, biting her index fingers nail as she took in her over all look. She nervously started playing with her hair, pulling it up high, then letting it fall down again. She just couldnt make up her mind, so she simply ruffled it up a bit, though frowned at herself.
What is wrong with you? Its just Alex... And it's...its not really a date. Just two friends going out to dinner...and hanging out right?She tried to settle her nerves with this but it just didn't seem to help.

Alex was a bit relieved to see that it was only an apartment complex that he was going to, and not the big, private homes on the other side of town where people like Damian Centurion lived in their spare time. He was wearing a nice outfit that was still comfortable and airy. He was even wearing some nice cologne, though now he wondered if maybe that was a bit too much. It was just a friendly outing... or maybe it wasn't. He knew he liked Jess as much more than a friend, even if in his gut he knew that he didn't truly understand her enough. Still, she was pretty, and smart in some way, so he just went with his feelings for once instead of missing out on a good opportunity. Once he was at the door, he knocked a few times and stood back. Please, he asked, just let it be her so I don't have to meet the parents.

Maria answered the door with an inquisitive look. She was a moderately older woman, her steel gray hair pulled back into a tight bun. She wore a simple pair of slacks and a button up blouse.
She said not a word, merely looked him up and down before pursing her lips. "Jessica!" She called back into the house, though it seemed a millisecond later she was ushering Maria back inside, whispering quietly about her mother and how she promised she'd stay out of trouble. "Love you! I'm leaving!" She suddenly yelled out, most likely to her mother somewhere in the house, suddenly turning, and pushing out the door, taking Alex's hand roughly and yanking him towards the elevator, trying to beat her mothers curiosity.
Just as she expected, her mother appeared in the door way, looking annoyed and flustered, but only a glimpse was seen for the elevator doors closed just in time.
Jess was panting lightly then laughing, apologizing profusely. "I'm sorry! but if my other caught hold of you...we'd never get out of he-" She stopped herself, finally getting a clear look at him. Her lips were parted slightly and her eyes were big and sweet. "W-wow... You look...nice..." She smiled her lovely little smile at him though corrected herself. "I-I mean not that you dont always look nice- I mean...I'm just going to stop talking..." She laughed a tiny big, covering her south slightly to hide her embarrassment.
He looked good. There was no denying it. And while rushing him into the elevator, she had pushed up against him and caught a whiff of him.
It was a pleasant aroma that made her knees slightly weak, though she'd try her best not to let that show.

Before he could even pause to say hello, Jess had whisked him away to the elevator, crashing into him slightly as they desperately made their getaway from her mother. She didn't look like a terrifying woman, judging from the three seconds he could see her face, but he would just have to take Jess' frantic reaction to heart.
Though the one he earned himself made him smile.
"Naw, I know what you mean. I just look nicer than usual." He gave her a wink and looked to the doors for a few seconds, as if waiting for them to open.
"You look very nice yourself. And you smell lovely, too."
It seemed that little crash into the elevator gave them both enough time to notice with all senses how much effort the other had put into their appearance.

Her cheeks flashed red as she pretended to be distracted with the buttons on the wall. "Th-thank you..." She smiled down at the ground, suddenly realizing how short her dress was. It wasn't anything too different for her, but she was worried that Alex didn't like that side of her, still remembering their first meeting.
But she tried not to feel too self conscious as she attempted to fill the silence. "So...Where exactly are we going?" She asked, stealing a sideways glance and smile at him.

"We're going out to dinner and then something special afterwards..."
Alex looked down at her, and carefully took her hand in his. If she didn't want to hold hands, then he'd know what else not to do during the rest of the night. Take it slow, he reminded himself. This time, things were going to count.

It was such a subtle gesture, but one that made her heart jump into her throat and her whole body light on fire. She wasn't so used to such sweet and small signs of affection. It was always so drastic and forced and a bit uncomfortable.
...This was nice.
She closed her fingers around his, touching her mouth to try to hide her smile with her free hand. "That-....sounds lovely..." She seemed barely able to talk since her heart still felt enlogged in her jugular, but she managed to swallow it down again long enough to look up at him, her big blue eyes looking softer with her long eyelashes batting up at him ever so slightly.

He could feel that little jump in her, just from him holding her hand. Remembering her stories about the too-forward men in bars, he wondered if anyone had done such a simple thing. He wasn't about to get her drunk, that was for sure. He just wanted to be near her.
The elevator opened with a soft ding, and out they went into the world where he could show her a night on the town, which really wasn't going to be utterly spectacular, but still the best he could do.

Alex returned Jess safely to her apartment door. they'd had a night of walking around the city, going into various shops and being generally silly people. They'd start singing off-key songs in the middle of crowds, and once Alex began dancing out of nowhere, just to thoroughly embarrass Jess. Once they stopped for coffee at a cafe that thankfully wasn't the Black Hole (though Alex scrutinized the way they made their cappuccino and preferred theirs).
But the night had come to an end, and Jess needed sleep. They both did.
"May I get a good night kiss?" he asked with a sleepy grin.

She did look tired and so did he. "How can I deny that face?" She asked with a silly grin on her own face, grabbing his collar and gently pulling him for ward as she leaned up on her tip toes to meet his lips for a sweet goodnight fairwell.
"I'll...see you tomorrow maybe... or soon... I'll call you..." She blushed, knowing she was being awkward. She just didn't want to seem overbearing. Though as she turned to let herself in, she hesitated, turned and embraced Alex suddenly, arms about his neck, though nothing awkward. Just a gentle loving hug. "Thank you again..." She whispered into him before pulling away.
With one more shy wave, she let herself into the swanky apartment, shutting the door reluctantly behind her.
Once alone, Jess leaned against the doorway, listening to hear him leave, smiling like a fool and biting her lip with a content sigh.

------Yargh! We intrude >8D------ Gleesh He shook his head and laughed a little. What had he gotten into? It was more than he could bear to think that this fire, once kindled, could grow so quickly and consume everything he was. Like fire, he was sure the initial carnal passion would fade, and he hoped that there would be something underneath; maybe there would be a diamond created from the heat and pressure of the extraordinary. He followed her with a certain swagger of knowledge. Not that this was his first time around the proverbial block, but it was his first time without the necessity of being the aggressor - or the instructor. She thought herself clever, this unnatural beautiful demon. But it wasn't torture or cleverness when the victim was willing. He fully intended to capitalize on the opportunity. "May I assume, for a moment, that I'll be allowed to keep my manly dignity?" Strange thought, being collared and leashed. Not literally of course...unless that was something she was into. He doubted it, but at this point if she told him to run off the side of the building he probably would have and gladly. He was under a spell, though how much of it was induced naturally and how much was a result of her special abilities clouding the air? As the elevator opened the door he stepped inside with her and waited while she chose her floor. Anticipation rose in him as the lift did, hydraulics pumping to carry the load. Cosette laughed, reaching up to wrap her arms around his neck as the doors closed behind them. "Maybe. It depends, really. I did have to pander to your social life by going to that party after all." She said, walking her fingers up his chest as she spoke, that grin on her face never leaving. Lifting her hands, she took hold of his shirt collar and brought his mouth down on hers with a sharp tug. It took an amount of her self control to not hit the stop elevator button and tackle him down right there, but the spell was broken with the 'ding' that signaled their arrival. She laughed, letting go of him and stepping back as the doors opened to reveal the dark, empty hallway. Reaching back, Cosette slipped a finger through one of his belt loops and pulled him along quickly down the hall, grinning like the cat that swallowed the pigeon. Cats could get very large, you know. As they reached the sliding door of her apartment, she let go to press her hand to the recognition pad and kicked off her shoes as the door slid open to let them inside. Once he was in, she let the door close and then locked it behind them. "Make yourself at home. I'll be right back." She kissed him once with a quick nibble on his bottom lip and then darted into the hallway past the living room after clicking a couple buttons on the couch arm that closed the heavy velvet curtains of the main room window and sparked a quickly crackling fire in the fireplace in front of her couch. Cosette sent him a wink before she disappeared into her bedroom to change.
