Rhea tilted his head as Corrah turned his back to him. He didn't want the fish? No one wanted it...Aras was to tired and Corrah...he ignored him.

His ears lowered and he grew very confused. He looked up at Aras and nods picking up the fish that had again plopped from his mouth in disappointment and he moved to follow Corrah up the hill.

Kanis pulled her back on her back and hopped she would not have another breathing problem. So she tried to remember the breathing pattern Armus had taught her first, so that when she got tired it would still be in effect.

She followed at a good pace watching everyone else.

It was only now that she had caught her breath a little that Aras noticed the fish that Rhea was carrying around. She smiled at him, adjusting her bag on her shoulders.

"Did you catch that fish?" she asked him brightly. "Is that your breakfast? You should eat it so that you have energy for our training! Daddy says we're going to have to work hard, so we'll need lots of energy!"

Rhea turned and looked at Aras. He shook his head, "Shrool it" he said over the fish. He looked down. Well he probably should have eaten it himself. After all Aras had a father.

He sighed and shakes his head. He would have to eat the dirty fish when they finally stopped.

Aras tried to puzzle through what Rhea had said - his speech was indeed better, but far from clear.

It was a long while later when they finally reached the place where Corrah was leading them - a large cavern in a cliff face. It was sizable enough to be a cave, but didn't go anywhere. It was good for shelter and warmth, but little more.

"Put your bags in there," he told the children crisply. "Leave anything you don't want to burden you. We'll be gone all day but we will be back here tonight to sleep."

It was about a half mile away from the place where Corrah and Armus usually slept.

Armus smiled at the children and knelt to take Kanis and Aras's bags. She knew Ruran would never let her take his.

Rhea smiled and as the others started to put his stuff away he started to eat the already half eaten fish. He watched where everyone things were going.

He was about to settle fully into finishing off the fish when he saw one of Aras' belts hanging from the bag Armus was carrying. His tail wagged and he ran over and grabbed ahold of it with his mouth then started to pull on it trying to get it out.

Kanis nods, "Yes sir..." she followed Armus to pick a nice spot for her bag to go. So they would be sleeping in the out cropping of the cave, well she would not complain...though there did not seem to be a lot of privacy.

Ruran moved over to put his stuff up. Why had they not split up? They should be splitting into girls and boy now.

Aras also moved to put her things away, and as Rhea grabbed hold of her belt, she blinked in surprise.

"Rh- hey!" she cried, clutching her bag more tightly. "What are you doing? Rhea! That's my belt!"

She fell back as the belt slipped free, and for a moment she just sat there, too surprised to do anything else. She wondered what he was doing. Did he want to play? How did he even have any energy after a long hike like that? Though to be fair, the three children had walked for hours before that too ...

Corrah watched the children silently, waiting for them to be ready. They would need food for energy, water for replenishment ... he would take them first to the stream and let them rest a moment. Once they were ready, that was.

Rhea growled playfully his but up in the air as he held the belt with his hands and started to chew on it smiling happily as he looked at the now sitting Aras.

He loved her scent. Already he was committing it to memory. He loved her taste and he found already he wanted to practice being an adult. If they were alone and she bit into his baiting he would have attempted being an adult.

Kanis put her things away and said there quietly looking around. And waiting for everyone else to be ready. She was tired but very proud she got the breathing down.

Aras didn't know how to react to Rhea. She could tell from his stance that he wanted to play - or something - but she knew they couldn't, not now - they had to begin their training.

She sighed and rose to her feet once more, leaving her pack where it was, and walked over to Rhea.

"I have to put that away, Rhea," she told him softly, holding out her hand for him to give her belt back. "Come on, we have to get going or Corrah will get mad ..."

Corrah raised one eyebrow at the wolf pup and sighed. He needed to be firm with him, or else Rhea would only hold the others - Aras in particular - back from learning what he had promised to teach her.

"Rhea!" he barked. "Give it back to her!"

Rhea whimpered loudly at the sharp order from Corrah. He had never used such a tone with him. He dropped the belt and nosed it over to Aras his ears lowered and his tail tucking between his legs.

He had just wanted one of her belts...He guessed he was wrong and mad a bad mistake. He sighed and as much as he wanted to run and hide behing Armus he knew she would not protect him this time.

Kanis jumped a bit at the sudden call from Corrah.

Ruran laughed. Well that would teach the pup.

Corrah felt bad for speaking so sharply to the boy - he really did - but he had no choice in the matter. Ruran especially had no respect for anyone, and would never listen to him if he showed any weakness whatsoever. He was walking a tight line here ... and he would just have to make it up to Rhea later.

Besides that, once the boy had a better grasp on language, Corrah could simply explain things to him.

Aras had also jumped at Corrah's harsh tone, and her hand was shaking slightly as she reached silently for her belt, returning it just as silently to her pack. She was starting to have second thoughts about coming here ... she wanted her daddy now.

She took a deep breath. She had to be brave ... as quickly as she could, she brought her pack to the cave with her siblings' bags, then returned to Corrah and put her hands behind her back.

"Ready to go, sir," she said softly, respectfully, her eyes on the ground, not daring to look up at him.

Corrah nodded at Aras, then looked at the others. "Are you all ready as well?" he asked, his tone low but not quite harsh.

Kanis nods. "Yes sir." she moved beside her sister and moved to stand the same way though close enough so her shoulder would press against Aras', in an attempt to comfort her sister.

She felt even more excited. This was what a trainer was. They were made to be harsh. And it was nice to see that he didn't seem to have any favorites.

Rhea moved to the other side of Aras. His ears were still down but his tail was behind him now. It seemed that the hardest habit for him to break would be to walk upright.

He still came up to Aras's chest as he stood on all fours. He really had just wanted to chew the beautiful belt. It was not his fault that no one would give him something to chew on so he would have to keep trying to steal it and get distracted by it.

Though the thought of if he really belonged with humans started to cross his mind. Aras had yelled at him and pushed him away for trying to check if she was alright. Armus had half thrown him half dropped him he still didn't know why. No one ever liked when he tried to give them food, Kanis complained bout it. He had notices how Ruran looked at him oddly. And even now Corrah had snapped at him for trying to get a chew toy. And everyone kept trying to change him.

Ruran smirked. It was clear he took pleasure in seeing other people in trouble or in pain. He nods, "yes sir." he said flatly. He smiled at his sisters and the wolf.

Corrah nodded, his features still hidden in his cowl.

"Then follow me," he said crisply, and he turned and led them up the mountain once more, through the trees and bushes. The land was growing more rocky, with less soil, and they were getting quite high on the mountain. The air was thinner as well, and he made sure that the children were all breathing all right.

Aras followed after Corrah, walking beside Rhea, and she couldn't help but notice that he seemed a little down. It wasn't just that he was quiet ... it was just the way he was walking, the air around him ... he just seemed to be very sad for some reason.

She wondered if she would get into trouble for talking to him - but then, she reasoned, there wasn't really any reason why she couldn't. Corrah had said to follow him, and that was what they were doing, wasn't it? Surely talking was allowed.

She put one hand on Rhea's head and stroked his hair gently. "Are you all right?" she asked him softly, leaning forward a bit so that she could see his face. Her expression was worried, her teal eyes anxious.

Kanis could see that her sister was seeking comfort in the wolf. She nodded and moved a bit away. She watched the way Corrah's cloak moved as he walked. She could not help but wonder what he looked like under it. Was he hiding something?

She tried to keep working on her breathing but with the thinner air she found it more difficult and soon enough she was panting lightly trying to pull in more air.

Ruran felt the in take of air getting a bit harder to get. The air was thinner and he had to start working a bit harder. He hated all the walking and running he wanted to start fighting and working harder.

Rhea blinked and was pulled from his dark thoughts to the touch of a hang on his head. He looked up at Aras and nods. He was alright...just confused. And he did not know how to say what he was feeling so it would jut be best to say he was going.

"Aras?" He wanted to know if she was alright as well. He knew Corrah would not yell at them for talking they were still surprises after all.

Aras smiled at Rhea softly and scratched his head lightly, as she had seen Armus do.

"I'm okay," she told him quietly. "A bit tired, but okay." She smiled again, then reached down and hugged him without even thinking about it. He was so sweet ... always worrying about her ... wanting to play with her ...

Finally, they reached a small brook of clear water that was trickling down the mountain's side. It was very small, barely ankle deep for the Surprises, but cold and refreshing.

Corrah stopped them all and sat on a large rock, nodding at the brook. "Take a break," he told them. "Drink up. Rest. Once you are all ready, we will begin with your endurance. Up here on the mountain, the air is thin, and until you can breathe as normally up here as you would down below, I can teach you nothing else. You would likely die."

Overexertion was the biggest worry for the moment, and altitude sickness.

Rhea shut his eyes a bit as Aras started to scratch him. He almost stoped walking and did as soon as she hugged him.

Man humans were odd. He could not figure any of them out. He shifted to rest his head on her shoulder and nuzzled. Then he heard Corrah say they could take a break. He smiled and started to walk towards the brook stopping and waiting to see if Aras would join him for a drink.

Ruran saw the water and ran to it eh fell this his knees panting and scooping water into his mouth. He didn't even think about over drinking and getting a stomach ache over it.

Kanis sat where she was then laid down and tried to clam her breathing. She could not drink no matter how thirsty she was if she did not get her breath back.

Shutting her eyes she forced herself to take slow even breaths.
