Apple-Sherbet Teh_Sheba Apple-Sherbet Now that all of this has subsided, I'm actually a little scared of what they might say in the commentary for the finale regarding the Zuko/Katara together time and endgame ships. Funny you should mention that...
I just heard yesterday from a friend that HIS friend was watching the commentary on TSR and Bryan said, in so many words, "I like the idea of Zutara."
...*spasms* <---No, not happy spasms, more like, WTF is going on?! spasms.
Mixed messages, much? If you like Zutara, then why do you have a video that says, in so many words, that "anyone who thinks Katara and Zuko would make a good couple will forever have doomed relationships??" And make the rest of your fellow Zutara fans feel alienated?
If you like the idea of Zutara, then how can you say it wouldn't last or it's just dark and intriguing??? That isn't the idea of Zutara, dude, sorry. D: It could've been sarcasm. I'm still one to believe TSR was a ploy to prove that Zuko and Katara bring out the worst in each other. Or my little crack theory that Bryan is Mike's lapdog. And that he really doe like Zutara, he's just peer pressured into Kataang because he thinks that's cool. Or this. xD Bryan is so Mike's lapdog who follows everything he says. Mike = Azula, Bryan = Ty Lee. Except less kick-a**, because he never rebelled and isn't as awesome as her. So maybe he's more like Mai, and he needs a Zuko to turn to the good side so he'll have a reason to rebel? >.< Oh. My brain.
xD I love that comic. If only it had happened.

I still think its funny that the short showed Zutara as a failed relationship because all they did was make out but somehow Maiko is able to survive this way.

Bryan, wtf? Dx If you like it, why did you taunt and tease the fans, leading them on only to have a crappily put together Kataang end? If you like it and respect it, then you would respect the fans. Actually, screw that - you should respect your fans regardless of what their views are. >.<
He like his twisted version of Zutara, where the only thing they do is complain about dead mothers and make-out. (It's so similar to Maiko! Minus the talking about anything part.)Here here!
Whenever they try making fun of Zutara, it just ends up like they're making fun of MAIKO. Which is both very sad, and at the same time, hilarious.
And if you respect Kataang more than Zutara, why not make a decent ending for it! Come on, guys, where's the EPIC ROMANCE that you Kataangers always bragged about?!
I guess they were so busy trying to disprove Zutara(by throwing in connection after connection and sticking them together for the entire finale and all thta jazz) that they forgot to develop Kataang.
Sarcasm? Possibly. All I know is, I'm not going to assume anything more than it was a joke. I've already put too much faith in them and they showed how classy they really were. This changes nothing. As far as I know, they're just words strung together.
Still bitter? Maybe. ^^

Bryan's always the one to say the really snide remarks about Zutara, so maybe it's kinda like a ventriloquist dummy where the dummy says pretty much what the actual person is thinking because their too scared openly admit it themselves. Only Mike is holding a gun to Bryan. Some peep that Bryan loves: Sorry, but I ship Zutara.... Bryan: *dramatic "Noooooooo!", looking down at Bryan on his knees in the rain*

Still bitter? Maybe. ^^ Agreed, when people like something, they put a lot of time in effort into making it good - Maiko and Kataang shouldn't have been so poorly done. I mean, Maiko had half of season three to develop - it didn't, unless you count everything that build up against it as development. Kataang had the entire series to develop, and all that happened was huge spotlight on Aang's feelings and him getting whatever he wants, while Katara has a random, unexplained realization that she should make-out with her best friend. -.-
I'm trying to erase their horrid remarks from my mind. I mean, maybe it was just a really, really badly done, horribly timed joke, but I've still lost a lot of respect for them just from the disappointment of the finale (so many plot holes! Dx). I think I'll just pretend they don't exist while poking fun at all their silly self-contradictions.

THEN, the Finale comes, exactly how it was in the book, and they're all happy??
WTF? Were they all blinded by the special effects and pretty colors that Mike and Bryan put in to distract from their gaping plotholes, or what?? If I was a Kataanger, I'd be pissed right now. I like my romances with TWO sides, thank you very much. Some Kataanger told me I wouldn't be as mad if I wasn't a Zutarian, but there is just SO Much wrong with how this series ended and it is NOT just because a freakin' pairing didn't happen. I wish they'd stop assuming that, because it's ignorant of them(especially when I wrote Journals EXPLAINING this crap. They rfuse to read it.)
I can't stand that Katara got ignored, and it isn't cool that their best Character, ZUKO got a romance that was only actually ever developed in a freaking MAGAZINE COMIC. WHAT the HELL? What kind of great romance starts out in a MAGAZINE rather than the ACTUAL show?!
But I'm getting off topic now...Yeah, as soon as the SC book came out, EVERYTHING went downhill. The interview, the finale, the SDCC crap, and now this...I'm just tired of Mike and Bryan. They have too many strikes against them, including how much of all the previous musings on Zutara/zutarians is now in question just as we're questioning this new commentary.
Avatar will now always be the great series that could have been epic, but ended Horribly. And Mike and Bryan have forever lost my respect with their little cracks.

That's why I obsess about Zutara now, not Avatar. If that makes any sense. With the case of Kataangers, it really is the case of some people in the fandom who love the show so much that when something isn't right; they can just completely ignore it. They think just 'cause you love it so much that that you must love part every moment, but sometimes being a fan also means you have to be a critic. Kataangers have permernet PMS, or they all just got pregnant when the book came out and their hormones are going wild. (Methinks it's time for those babies to come out now, yes?)

xD I think you're right on the pregnant/PMS thing. It's gonna be a scary day when all those mini-Kataangers start popping out. But I guess they'll be exposed to the internet, right, and Zutarians own the internet. We can make them see the light. 8D

(Methinks it's time for those babies to come out now, yes?) I completely agree with both of you. The Maiko and Kataang was horribly developed, and the Kataangers don't seem to care because they still got what they wanted, regardless of quality.
xD I think you're right on the pregnant/PMS thing. It's gonna be a scary day when all those mini-Kataangers start popping out. But I guess they'll be exposed to the internet, right, and Zutarians own the internet. We can make them see the light. 8DKataang gave Zutara the interwebs on a silver platter, those babies will be the black sheep of the family when they find us.

Apple-Sherbet rachaella22 Apple-Sherbet Teh_Sheba rachaella22 Agreed, when people like something, they put a lot of time in effort into making it good - Maiko and Kataang shouldn't have been so poorly done.
OMG, I know! I mean, back when the Sozin's Comet book came out, EVEN THE KATAANGERS were pissed off with how Katara just came out of NOWHERE for Kataang sexytiemz. THEY WANTED an EXPLANATION, just as we did.

We'll take them under our wing and teach them the ways of fanon and good writing. 3nodding Even if they're disowned from their real parents, they'll always have us. (It's like Zuko with Iroh and the gaang! =D)

Everyone who has posted here has taken the words out of my mouth. There is nothing left to say. We all know this thing was disrespectful and very immature. I can't wait for them to show up at the next Comic Con, because I'm going to go with the shirt I made of Zutara and I'm going to rant my a** off, and hopefully someone will record it. This had to be one of the worst shipping insults I have ever seen or heard of. I'm going to go blow off some steam before I get really pissed. ^_^
