The way she pulled back...

He knew it was nothing, she was just unprepared for him to turn around so quickly. Still, it made him remember. He didn't want to remember, he didn't want to think about everything that happened. Why did Krisha bring up so much thought? Why was it that everything she did, everything she said, made him remember?

Every. Little. Thing.

He leaned in closer, just slightly. His hand moved upward as the tips of his fingers pushed Krisha's chin up gently. He stared at her with a look. A look of wonder. As if she was a magnificent piece of artwork with hidden meaning. Admiration, and awe.

And yet, all the while, he was looking at her as if she was a human being. A person who had cried, laughed, smiled, bled, healed and breathed. She had a heart that beat and lungs that breathed, feet that walked and hands that worked, ears that listened and eyes that saw. She was living, breathing. She was mortal but immortal at the same time.

That's how Shah stared at her.

"How does on keep from remembering when they're scared to forget?" He muttered before slipping the very small distance forward and placing a gentle kiss upon her lips. This one wasn't like the previous one nor the morning kiss. This one was a kiss. Nothing more, nothing less.

No lust. No pain. But there was something. Was it love?
PostPosted: Wed Sep 10, 2008 4:51 pm

Krisha should have pulled away, she knew she should have.
Should have wanted to, should have needed to.
Should have....
But she didn't.
Infact, the shock of it had just set in when he pulled away.
How...
Why?

His lips had been warm, as had his fingers under her face.
She had expected them to be cold, like that had been the night before, but no.
They hadn't been hard, like they looked, but they hadn't been soft either.
It was almost like a firm clay, molding ever so slightly to hers.

And that look...
It froze her in place, keeping her from objecting or pulling back.
If he only knew what that look could do...

When Shah pulled off though, the spell broke.
The what's and the why's came rushing back, along with the fire in her cheeks,

"How dare you..."
She whispered.
There had been something behind that kiss, something that made her hope far to much.
"Why do you enjoy playing with my emotions?"
This was whispered, calmly, with out any indicator of the storm beneath the downward looking face.
What gave him the right?
She wasn't a play thing, a doll that could be tossed aside when he was finished!
Somehow, she knew, that if another woman were to walk past with something he needed, he'd be wooing her in a second, despite what she might think.
Somehow she knew....
What right did he have to make her hope?

"Am I?"

Shah dared. Shah dared because that was the only way to do anything in a world like this. Dare and aim; That's all there was to it. Aim well and hope that your actions were more then just a gut feeling.

Was that what he was doing? Playing with her emotions? No, not now. Not before. With anyone else he would have. He would keep at it, making them chase after the sweet lies he fed them but not with her. He didn't know what he was doing.

He was standing on thin ice, afraid to take another step forward or backwards. Scared to move in either directions or else he'd fall. For better or for worst. He'd slip underneath the ice and feel the sharp p***k of the consequence, he'd be pulled away from his entrance. Trapped underneath the thin layer that separated him from years worth of effort and safety. A layer of ice that was so easy to break from above but so hard to break from below.

And then he'd sink.

He'd sink down, further and further. Would he allow it to take him? The temperature to numb him? The air to escape him? Like he had done before?

Would she lead him down that path?

What if she didn't? What if she led him off the ice? What if she showed him how to keep the ice from breaking? What if she kept him from going back to before? He'd still have to fall. He'd still have to slip underneath everything he had done to keep himself above. And then, even after he fell, there was that chance.

He stared down at Krisha. She wasn't staring at him. She looked down, away from him. Why did he enjoy playing with her emotions?

"I don't." He answered. "I'm not."

He was staring at her again. Looking at her as if she was a tattered angel. Such beauty but there was more to it. The look that had frozen her before. He didn't understand the power it had.

He didn't remember what had happened the night before. He didn't want to know anymore. He didn't care, he was grateful for it. Whatever had happened had happened and given Shah a chance. He didn't want to know how or way, the fact that it had done in mystery was good enough for him.

"One day someone's going to give you a chance and from there everything's going to be okay."

Was this his chance? Or was it another trick like before? Shah hated this, why was she the only one who put him on thin ice.

"You can leave." His voice was soft, gentle, an offer. "Turn around and I'll be gone." There was a smile on his face but the way he said it, the way the corner of his lips twitched oh-so-gently as he kept that smile on his face. It was a lie.

"It's easy."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:37 am

Would he really be gone?
Would he really leave, just like that?
A part of her was curious, but another part didn't want to know.
The man had yet to actually lie to her, infact he had been eerily upfront about everything thus far.
Which may or may not have been the reason she didn't want to test his offer.

"You would really leave?"
She whispered, starting to look back up at him.
Why did she get that strange tug in her chest when she thought about that?
She hadn't known him that long.
Hadn't liked him for a bit under half the time she had known him.
Hadn't trusted him either.
She had seen something though, when he dropped his gaurd the other night.
He could have hurt her, could have killed her.
But he didn't.
Even when he was so close to losing himself, he'd held on long enough to make sure he didn't hurt her.
It had been that that had enabled him to worm his way under her skin.

"What if I said I didn't want you to go?"

She was looking straight at him this time, not to the side, not above, and not below.
At him.

She'd slipped her small hand into his when speaking, gripping it slightly to emphasize what she had said.
She didn't want him to go.
Hesitantly at first, the blue haired girl tilted forward, standing on her toes to reach the face that was already so close to hers.
The kiss she gave was the same as his before, soft, not yet passionate, full of meaning.
It was a kiss that held something behind it.
Unlike his though, she didn't pull back after a few seconds.

The words she said, it struck him still.

He didn't respond to her kiss at first. His hand was limp in her grasp as he froze. Not a breathe, not a blink, barely a heart beat. Would he, could he, can he, dare he? For the first second or so Shah was simply there, Krisha's lips pressed against his. And then, he let himself slip.

He returned her offer with one of his own. At first it was like butterfly wings yet again but he pushed forward, he took a step on the ice and allowed it to crack. Like her's, his kiss held meaning. He was giving her a chance as she was doing with him. Would their efforts be in vain? Shah wouldn't think about it, he couldn't think about it. He'd jump back if he did.

His fingers curled gently over Krisha's. He would stay, stay until it ended like everything else. He would acknowledge that much. It would come to an end but he'd enjoy it until the end. He wouldn't worry about how or why, it would simply end for whatever reason.

Shah broke the kiss, gently, with a sigh of relief. He couldn't help it, he had made his decision and as of this moment he didn't care what happened next. He kicked his thoughts out a mental window for the time being. Let them doubt and bicker later on. His free hand gently took a lock of her hair between his fingers and brought it up to his nose. It was a pointless gesture, he could smell her scent a mile away. Still, Shah knew how a lady liked to be treated. Shah was ready to make Krisha feel like the hottest damn thing on the ******** planet.

Because it was true.

"You're beautiful." He said to her. The word had no justice. Still, he meant it deeper then skin.

"Ewww!!" A small voice complained as the bush behind Krisha shoot gently. It wasn't exactly squeaky the voice but it did have a pitch to it. It was young, small and obviously unwelcome. Shah frowned as he tipped his head to the side to stare over at the bush. He hadn't caught the scent of anyone but that might of been because he was so focused upon Krisha. The bush shook again as a soft thud could be hear and a mutter before a tiny figure hopped out from behind the bush. It got snagged on a branch momentarily but quickly recovered.

So tiny the little guy was but rather adorable none the less. Hastily he fixed the hat upon his head and attempted to flatten the hair on his tiny head. Still, it bounced up gently and looked rather soft. The tiny boy pointed an accused finger towards the two, his gloves, cloth and face covered in different colored paint as his bright blue eyes shined in the morning light. "Are you Shah Wallace?" he demanded to know.

Shah hesitated, who the hell was this kid? "Who the ******** wants to know?" He asked in response. The boy flinched at first but soon a wide smile, that resembled a mischievous smirk of some sort, grew on his face. "I do! The name's Zacheus!" He beamed as he walked forward, between the two as eh stared up at Shah with that same smirk. "You're supposed to take care of me." he said with smugness in his voice. Shah stared down at him with a blank expression. "Yeah. Okay kid, go back to mommy." Shah said as he pushed him away with his leg and turned back to Krisha.

"HEY!!" Zach protested. He lached onto Shah leg and dropped his weight onto it...which wasn't much. Shah's head snapped down as he thrust his leg out to get him off. "What?!? Get of me you little retard!" he growled at him but he wasn't going any where. "You're supposed to take care of meeeee!!!!" he shouted. Shah grabbed him tightly by the collar and yanked him off. He held his tiny body up to eye level. He stared at him for a few seconds before turning away from Krisha and tossing his arm back, preparing to throw. Zach let out a squeak before grabbing onto Shah's arm or dear life.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 6:17 pm

Krisha's reaction to the kiss had left her thoroughly...warm.
Her cheeks and hands and toes were all flushed.
Of course, that flushed feeling didn't have much of a chance as the moment was interrupted.
She couldn't be mad though.
It was just a little boy, smeared with paint.
She would have gladly introduced herself, had the current scene not taken place.

"Oh no you don't!"
She said, grabbing the boy from him and clutching him to her as she would a doll.
"He's just a child, and apparently your responsibility!
There will be no throwing or injuring while I'm here."

Maternal instinct had taken over, and she proceeded the she would have had he threatened Kira or Sylas.
"Besides, I'll help you with him, I pro-"
She had been smiling on the last part, almost completely prepared to sit down and see what they could do about this.
That, however, wasn't to be, as a red and white blue came running out of the woods in breakneck speed and straight into her.

Jin had caught the familiar scent just ahead of them as he'd been running after the boy.
It was her!
"Zeph, it's her!"
With that, he'd taken off at break neck speed, tearing throught the leaves and branches.
None of them had broken skin, though, luckily.
He wouldn't have noticed if they had.
His sister was there!
With childlike naivety, he didn't stop to think she might be busy.
They'd never been to busy for each other.
They'd been the first, along with Selene and Serre.
It was important for them to be there when the other was.

So, as he barreled through into the clearing and wrapped his arms around her, wings and all, he never bothered to look at the other man.
The two, three, four? went forward onto the ground, with him obliviously holding onto his sister.

Zephyr had no idea what he was talking about at first, till he to recognized the sent that had been near his vase so often.
Knowing enough about his brother, he held on for dear life as he went flying.

He'd never seen her face to face, but he knew that he'd felt safe when she'd sat there talking to his and his other sisters vase.
Much safer than with serre and her work routines.

Still, he might have liked it better if they hadn't gone straight into her.

He lost his hold on Jin's shoulder, flying through the air and landing near a dark haired man.
"Bloody Hell..."
Surprising language for one so young.

Shah had been surprised as Krisha pulled the boy off his arm. Turning around he watched as the little brat latched onto her and stuck his tongue out at him. Glaring at the kid Shah reached out to snatched him back but couldn't.

A blur of red and white shot past the two as Krisha was knocked to the ground with Zach. Shah didn't hesitate. He didn't care for the white haired boy that landed near his feet, he was tiny so he wouldn't be a threat. Instead he jumped forward and grabbed the red haired man by his legs and pulled him back hard, breaking his grasp around Krisha. He took a step back for better footing as he dropped the man a little bit away from Krisha. He side stepped his body and separated the two, standing between them and glaring at the red haired man.

"Who the ******** are you?" He demanded. Staring down at him with distaste.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zach was grateful for this woman despite how he had no idea who she was. At least with Shah he knew his name and that he was a werewolf, she however was a total mystery. He held onto her tightly just in case Shah tried to throw him again. How could this be his guardian? How was he supposed to be a fatherly figure? He stuck his tongue out at him, he didn't like him very much.
Zach tightened his grip around the blue haired woman as he noticed Shah moving forward. Sadly that was the least of his worries. All too quickly Zach found himself and the blue haired girl toppling backwards due to a red force. Zach clung for dear life and screamed at the top of his lungs as they fell. He knew that red hair, it was that guy from before. He had been wondering around aimlessly before, looking for someone that resembled Shah's description. He had come across the red head and the white haired boy by accident and was taken back by it. Zach didn't like surprises unless he knew about the surprise. He had been speechless as they spoke to him. They asked him for his name and where he was going but he didn't know how to answer. So instead of giving himself time to make sense of the situation, Zach ran.
He grabbed his vase and dragged it behind him as fast as his tiny legs could take him. He even tried to fly but the weight of his vase and body was too much for his tiny wigs so he ended up falling. Still, he managed to get away...until now. He still didn't know who they were so he assumed. "The red menace!!!" He cried as he hid behind Krisha's hair. "He takes little children and eats their insides, uses their bones for tooth picks and wears their skin!!" he cried as he huddled close to Krisha. "Don't let him get me!" Such a wild imagination.
Krisha clutched the small child closer as her brother was dragged off.
"Don't hurt him!"
She cried, as she pulled him off.
Despite some similarity in the faces, there wasn't much else that identified them as siblings.
It didn't help that the child in her arms was screaming about a red menace.
"Everyone stop!"
She said forcefully, standing up and shaking the dirt off her skirts.
Stares from all of the males centered on her.
"This is not the the red menace, lovey.
They're my brothers."
This was mainly directed at the child, but she said it loud enough for shah to hear.
Sitting the boy down, she walked over to jin, pulled the hair back from her face, bangs and all, and held his bangs back as well.
"See?"
Same eyes, same cheek bones.
Different chins though, but similar lips and ears as well.
Jin grinned beside her though, revealing pointed teeth while her smile was small, just lips as always.
Zeph had moved over to them as well, seating himself near the other boy.
Krisha had barely been able to glance at him, but she did now.
"Shah, Zacheus, this Jin and Zephyr.
Part of my Family."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 7:29 pm
The two were silent for a moment. "Are you sure he's not the Red Menace?" Zach asked with a frown from where he sat. He wasn't convinced or rather didn't want to be convinced. Shah gave him a brief glance back that looked ready to kill and Zach froze. "Nevermind..." he muttered, frowning to himself before his eyes drifted to the boy sitting a small distance away. He had been traveling with the Red, uh, Jin. Maybe he knew if he was or wasn't. Zach shuffled over to him silently. "Hey." He said with a brief wave. "You sure he doesn't swallow kids hearts whole, uses their skin as pleather and their ribs as xylophone?"
He whispered to the white haired boy named Zeph. He was being totally serious.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Shah wanted that kid to shut the ******** up already. Instead he''d ignore him, he was more interested with this family of Krisha's. "Nice entrance." He said flatly, he didn't offer to help him up. He noticed the mans tail, was this the one Krisha had been talking about before? The one that had no control? The one that had given her all those scars on her arm? Shah eyed him. He wasn't sure what to do now.

What next?

"Thanks.
Nice pull."

The red haired man grinned.
So there was another wolf involved.
And he had his sisters scent all over him.
"I take it you're Shah then.
A pleasure."

He was completely formal as he spoke.
The man had the grace of a tamed wolf, standing up in one fluid motion and wiping the dust off of him.

What was this man doing here?
What was he to his sister?
An excellent question.
"I feel required to ask your motives concerning my little sister.
That, and your current relationship with her.
Technicality and all, that must be lived up to.
You understand, no?"

There was slight accent to his voice, a mix of french and irish, the same as his sisters.
The same silver eyes cooly regarded the man infront of him while his face sported a friendly but slightly feral smile as he waited for the responce.

----------------------

Zephyr raised an eyebrow at the younger bow.
"Yeah, I'm sure.
Krisha, the blue lady, nor I would be around if he was."

He didn't mention before.
"No, actually, he's a bit of a joker and a push over.
The Red menace is a girl.
Named Serre.
She doesn't eat children though, just bad guys.
Sucks their blood clean out of 'em"

The white haired boy made a funny face and a few slurping noises to accompany this.

Serre was much scarier than Jin though.
Even before, she'd been much, much scarier.
the fact that she'd taken him down had proved that.
Of course, he hadn't been out yet, but he'd heard the stories when Jin wasn't around.

PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 8:06 pm

Krisha's mouth went slightly slack as she heard her brother.
Jin...
Sometimes he needed to think more before speaking.
Purposely, the woman walked over to where Shah was and smiled oh so innocently at her brother.
She wasn't going to let him even attempt to intimidate him.
"I'm afraid that'll you'll have to make due with my answers for your questions."
Still smiling, she moved beside shah and slid an arm around his waist, leaning slightly on him.
That tackle had left her slightly sore.

"His name is Shah Wallace, and he's what I suppose you would call my Beau.
His motives are my concern and only my concern.
Also, you boys shouldn't fight about me, or, as housemates, there's going to be alot of bickering in the labyrinth."

Amazingly enough, despite the shocked/bemused expression on her brothers face, she was still smiling.
Good.

Shah didn't like him. He didn't like him one bit.

Shah's stare was anything but polite. It wasn't exactly threatening but it was daring him. Daring him to try anything, to say anything, to do anything that might piss him off. His breathing was steady and even but his eyes said otherwise. It was almost as if he was asking him to do something so he could just throw in a good punch...which was some what true. Jin may have had the grace of a tamed wolf but Shah was everything but that. Jin was born as a wolf, unlike Shah. Shah didn't know why the two had been compared, to him they were total opposites.

Shah felt Krisha slip her arm around his waist and that dropped his temper just slightly. Slightly. The shocked/bemused expression on Jin's face helped the matter but he still wanted that good punch. Knock the smugness right out of his face. He didn't though, not now, not in front of Krisha though he was sure he could tell he wasn't happy with him. Shah didn't take his intimidation lightly. He didn't even feel intimidated, it was simply the fact that he had tried to do so. Shah was such a hypocrite.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zach was taken back by the boys response. His eyes snapped open and his mouth went slack. "A girl? Serre? SHE SUCKS BLOOD?!?" his voice got so high pitch for the last few words that it disappeared. He looked panicked as he sat there besides Zeph, his legs bent up against his chest as he unraveled turtle neck collar so it covered his mouth. Extra procaution.
Zach said something else but it was muffled behind the fabric and almost impossible to hear. He watched the older, taller figures converse with one another before looking back to Zeph. "If you know that she's the Red Menace, why is she still around?" He asked flatly. Finally some logical thought.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 11, 2008 9:53 pm
Jin stared forward at the two.
A Beau....
Well, that was...
"Lovely.
'Bout time she found someone to stick around with that wasn't Kin."
The man said with a laugh.
He'd worried that the man had been issuing unwanted advances.
The fact that it was likewise on both sides made a difference.
After all, how could he be upset when he sister found someone.
As long as he made her happy...
If he didn't though....
There would he a fairly big price to pay.
Jin would watch, out of the corner of his eye, and make sure nothing happened that would pertain to that.
-----------------
Zephyr stared at the other boy incredulously.
What the hell....
"I said she only does that to bad guys!
She keeps them from hurting us, because Jin's to much of a pushover to fight back."
Was the boy that dense?
"Why would we NOT keep her around?"
Serre looked out for them, and treated him like an adult.
And she was nice, he supposed, when she wanted to be.
"She's teaching me how to kick but like her."
He added, matter-of-factly.
He did like Serre, and he knew that as long as she was around he'd have those rare moments where Jin was literally tongue tied or to tired to talk.
he liked those moments.
Alot.
--------------
Krisha watched the two men stare at one another.
She supposed it was the wolf, kicking in to see who would be alpha.
Well, if they could be alpha, then she could be Head b***h.
"Alright Boyo's, there's nothing more to talk about concerning my relationships.
We do need to head back to caves."
She nodded with this, not leaving room for objection.
"Let the children go together.
No harm here.
Jin, serres around.
She'll probably be here shortly.
You're welcome to walk back with her.
Shah and I still have some things to discuss, unless you'd rather stay with us and discuss YOUR relationships..."
She watched her brother blush just as easily as she did, turn around and run off to where serre would probably show up.
So easy.
Zacheus closed his mouth. The way Zeph stared at him when he asked the question made him feel some what foolish. Was it his fault he had so many question? Okay, maybe he was being a little over dramatic but can't that be acceptable? Zach had only moments before crawled out of the deep dark depth of his vase only to find a woman standing over him waiting. He had put one and one together and took it that this woman was the one who had kept an eye on him and spoke to him during his time within his vase. Still, he wasn't fond of how she dropped him off in the forest and left him to fend for himself. She was no better then Shah who had aimed to throw Zach half way across the world within the first twenty seconds of their meeting.
The little fairy pulled back down his collar and looked to the much older Second Yous before them. The red haired one, Jin, ran off after the blue haired girl, Krisha, said something to him. Shah stood there with a look in his eye, Zach wasn't sure what it was exactly but he didn't really care right now. Krisha seemed like a nice girl, she had saved his life from Shah and he hadn't been injured in their fall thanks to her. Zach was positive she'd be much easier to handle then Shah.
A small gust of wind slipped over the area, causing Zach's hat to slip forward a little and his wings to twitch. Zach adjusted his hat before turning to Zeph. "People that throw children...or try to throw children can be considered evil. Right?" Zach asked, he needed a second opinion. If Zeph said yes then Shah was in for some Red Menace blood sucking action. And that single thought, despite that he had only known him for a few minutes, created something. Slowly but surely a wide, devilish smirk grew upon the little fairy's face. It looked out of place on that paint stained face but then again it didn't. His vase had been left with that mysterious woman, one could only wonder what words she spoke into his vase.
What was this boy thinking?
