"guardian? That tiny thing?" He turned back around in shock "What could it possibly protect?" Was her father so weak as to require the help of such a small creature? How pitiful and pathetic... he was truly disappointed and disgusted. "You must be joking, what could it possibly offer him?" such a small creature, looked only useful for the smallest and simplest of tasks... but as a guardian? Unless it had the power to grow in size or it possess magic enough to kill enemies from afar -- something he highly doubted from such a small thing-- it seemed quite outrageous to call it a 'guardian' he looked from Kesa to Elly and back again trying to determine the truth from their faces

"Guardianssss help with senses nightmares do not have" she said with a low growl "They are companions. My father and Kesa have a connection, Kesa can show him things, images. Itsss a way for him to see the world so to sssspeak" she said 'looking' in the direction of Kesa, who was sitting in the sand, between Elysia's paws. After a moment, Kesa looked up at Prince, and tilted his head, running over to examine the chain. He rambled off an incohearant sentence, in his squeaky voice. Something about it being neat, but it was too quick for even Elly to detect, and she grew up with him.

DP looked down at Kesa with a quirked eyebrow until the little creature started jabbering about something then he was just annoyed "I see" he turned his attention back to elly, "what exactly does he want?" He would turn and walk away from the overly excited creature but since it held connections to elly's father he thought it might be best to at least pretend to be respectful

Elly watched Kesa some more, as the small guardian continued to explore Princey, clambering all over him as though he were an amusement toy. "He came looking for me. My father's been worried. I've been gone sssso long" she said matter of factly. Then shrugged casually.

Kesa continued to clamber over Dark Prince, then stopped, and looked towards the edge of the desert, then lept off the dark male, and ran hurredly accross the sand, scurrying around the traps. A moment later, the small guardian lept up, and landed on Kae'lic shoulder, scurrying excitedly around the nightmare, who was approaching the two.

Kae'lic moved with the grace of a pharaoh. He carried himself with dignity, and an aire of power. He was large, bigger then Elysia, and Dark Prince, which just made Kesa look all the smaller. Even though he'd never been through the rigged desert, he knew where all the traps were, and easily avoided them, keeping his pharaohic poise all the while. He paused, a few steps before the two, and inclined his head lightly.

Elly stepped forword, and nuzzled her father in greeting, then turned to 'face' Prince. "Dark Prince, thissss is my father, Kae'lic." she said 'glancing' back to face her father. It had been a while since she'd seen him, and deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep down, she was a daddy's girl.

He was disappointed by the fact that Elly allowed her father to check in on her if she didn't show up within a period of time, she was no child and didn't need checking in on, why did she put up with it? The little Kesa was also getting on his nerves, he wanted badly to snap at it, maybe even make a snack out of it, but he did need the extra trouble that would follow. When the creature jumped off him he was relieved, he watched to see it fall into a trap but was very disappointed, until he saw a large figure making its way through his desert which the little Kesa climbed on to. It was a nightmare, very poised and regal looking, it reminded him of his father.

Upon the greeting DP inclined his head in response "Sir" is all he said. He waited giving Elly time with her father, he wanted to watch them and learn more of her father before deciding his next move. He took this time to size up Kae'lic, he was bigger than dp and had power over the sands, if Elly was any indication. He could prove to be a tough fight so best stay on his good side for now, if that was possible

Kae'lic couldnt see, but in his own way, he watched Dark Prince. He wasnt protective of Elysia, he knew full well she could take care of herself. He 'glanced' over his shoulder at Kesa, then back at the two. "Kesa informs me he mentioned a reason for my searching you out" he turned to Kesa again, and gave an exhale of air, causing the guardian to tumble off his back, he'd have fallen into the sand if he hadnt grabbed a shoulder scarf. He scrambled back up while Kae'lic continued "unfortunately he gave the wrong reason" another soft grunt. "One of the kitsu's at the valley has disappeared, i sent Kesa to go looking in this direction, apparently in the time it took him to get here, he'd already forgotten" Had he eyes to roll, they would have rolled.

"Elysia's not needed anyone to watch out for her in years" he said with a chuckle. Which was true enough. Even after the attack with Raistlin, Elly had forbidden anyone from interfering with the issue. Kae'lic faced Dark Prince, more then his daughter. "So, this is who you've been spending so much time with. You didnt even bring him to meet your father before the two of you decided to create you're own paradise?" It was hard to tell if there was amusement, contempt, or even anger in his voice, for the nightmare gave no hint.

Elysia gave a soft grunt, very much like the one her father gave to Kesa. "Father, thissss isnt the old timesss" she said with a light sway of her tails. "Males dont need permission from the father to court their daughter, or even to be friends" Her father was very much from the old days. Well, more like the old old old old old old old old old old old old days. She couldnt help but grin "Next time a guy wantsss to whisk me away, i'll bring him home first. Or i'll just wait until i've had kidssss" she said with a devilish grin.

He knew meeting her father first would have been wise, he had asked her to meet him awhile ago, but he said nothing now. It would do no good to place blame. As for the missing kitsu he couldn't really care, it was quite possible the fool ran in to a trap in his desert or maybe he just grew tired of the weakness that surrounded him and left to find his own place what did it matter?

"You're welcome to stay a while if you would like. I would like to get to know you better" He could learn alot about Elly through her father and her history, that and he might gain a powerful ally if he plays his cards right

Kae'lic 'watched' Dark Prince. He wasnt sure how he felt about the male. Elly seemed to like him, but Kae was going to wait to pass his own judgement of character.

"To what purpose, would you know me?" he asked, with a light tilt of his head. Again, it was hard to tell how the question came over. Kae'lic held his feelings out of his voice. "You and Elysia already have a little niche to claim as you're own, what else can be gained, from learning of the father?" His tails swayed slowly behind him. Kesa had nestled between Kae'lic shoulder blades, one shoulder scarf wrapped around him.

Fair enough question "What good is a mate with a torn heart? Why should I force her to choose between you and I if I have the chance to spare her from it? She is your daughter after all and as much as she acts tough, part of her heart still belongs to you" It was all true and wasn't sure how he felt about that yet, if Kae'lic supported them then the prince was fine with is, but if Kae'lic opposed them and Elly's heart was truely at war with itself then the prince would be very upset, she would be of no use to him if she questioned everything they did.

He could tell now too after the way Elly greeted her father that killing him would cause more problems than it was worth, unless... he made it look like an accident... hmm now that was something to mull over, especially with all the construction going on in the cave right now.

"Besides it wouldn't hurt to have another ally in this endevor" he smiled, it was wicked smile, one of cunning and plotting but some how it managed to have a bit of ernestness in there too. "and knowledge of elly's past and family interestes me, how better to learn of it than from her father and for what better reason to learn of it than to prepare oneself for their own family?" he wanted to say 'knowledge of others supportive in this endevor or not is still a powerful thing to have, would you not agree?' but he wanted to sound more concerned for elly sound more like a family man, fathers are so protective of their daughters, he couldn't exactly let Kae'lic know how he truely felt about elly, that she was a good ally but he didn't plan to -only- be with her, women have their uses but there are so many why limit yourself to just one?

Kae'lics tongue, flicked out, tasting the air. It reminded him of lies, and sugar coating, but he kept it to himself. If this was his only daughters chosen one, he would certainly not stand in the way. Unless necessary of course. "If you love them for the torn heart, then the torn heart is that which you already love, and that is a good thing" His tongue flicked again. His claws tapped, digging into the sand. To one with eyes, Kae'lic was one with the sand, the line between his paws and the grain, was gone.

A cunning, fake smile, was lost upon the sightless Father. But he felt it. Deep within his bones, Kae'lic could feel what lurked beneath Dark Prince. He knew there was more then meets the 'eye'. There was with everyone, but in this case, it was different. "I've endeavor's of my own. Family in itself, is an endeavor." He flicked his tongue again. He honestly, did not know how to feel about Dark Prince, but the feeling of unease, laid heavily upon him.

It was a good thing, one of Kae'lics gifts, was not mind-reading. Otherwise, Dark Prince would have been torn apart, and left to the vultures.

" What do you intend to do, with this desert get-away, riddled with traps?" He asked, changing the topic slightly. As Dark Prince felt him out, He too was feeling out the male who claimed the other half of Elysia's heart.

Prince quirked an eyebrow at Kae'lic, a good thing to love a torn heart? How would that be a good thing unless you could manipulate it? What a strange old man... his thought process stopped suddenly as he saw Kae'lic's foot meld with the sand... how very interesting... he was far more dangerous than the prince first thought.. a powerful ally if he could play his cards just right, but he had a feeling that would be very tricky... Kae'lic wasn't as easily fooled as others, that was becoming quite obvious... his train of thought got interupted again as Kaelic talked of endeavors then of the desert.

"We intend to call it home. The forest dwellers are sure to oppose our new addition to the ladscape so we added in a few defences as well. nothing more than that. We are desert souls and the forest is too easy a life, it makes one soft and weak. We desire to be home again in the sand. Is that too much to ask, even if we are willing to put in the work to make it so?" It was an honest answer with an honest question, there was no point in lying about that, he was sure Kae'lic would recognize a lie and their reason was as good if not better than any other he might come up with

Kae'lic, listened to Prince's reply, but generally said nothing about it. "you, and my daughter" he said softly, turning from Prince, to Elysia, who was pawing at the ground, her tails flicking idly. For the most part, she was ignoring the current conversation between her father and Dark Prince.

"Do you intend to be loyal to her?" he asked, with a tilt of his head, his ears flicking softly. His tails, swayed softly, sand coming out of his fur as it moved. He shared their love for the sand planes. But he learnt to adapt to the forest life. So long as he had the sun to regenerate him, he was alright.

"As long as she is loyal to me she shall have a place in my heart and my home" it wasn't what he had planned to say, and the truth of it left a bad taste in his mouth, his feelings for her seemed to be growing without his knowledge and this realization put him into a bad mood which made him grow tired of playing this game, he never had the patience for 20 questions. "We're losing the day with all this talk, you are free to stay as long as you would like, but now is the time for work" He brushed past Kae'lic, he knew the move was a gamble, it would either show Kae'lic he was strong and to be respected or it would show him he was rude, either way he didn't care right now he wanted to be constructive in a destructive manor right now.

He returned to the wood he had been hauling into the caves in order to construct his traps
