Dewpaw blinked at the colorful fish swimming in front of her eyes. Her sending as strong, for her age especially. She could get lost in sends, as she was doing. Dewpaw's vacant stare vanished as she trips over a branch in the path. She blinked again, this time from the ground, not paying enough attention to put her ahdns out to break her fall. "Ouch" she groaned, blushing as Dancer had.

Savith's eyes widened as Dewpaw took a tumble. Not fast enough to catch her falling, he was at her side a heartbeat later, moving to float her from the ground and away from the offending tree branch. It, on the other hand, gets a mental kick, off the path, into the underbrush, and out of the way. The light frown on Savith's face is almost as good as if he had sent to the branch a string of words we can't post here.
A private send, however, does flick out toward Dancer's mind: **Mind your sending, fledgling, for this one is still too young to see and mind at the same time.**
"Steadily, hatchling," he comments in a murmur to Dewpaw.

"Oh Dew!" She might have caught Dew herself had her mind not been in another place as well. She gave Savith a little nod and also wanted to help Dew, but since Savith had it all under control she let him tend to her. "At any rate we will get that washed out back at the cove and let everyone know you are back with us. They will all be glad to hear it." She gave Dew Paw a warm friendly smile. "You were missed a lot by everyone."

Dewpaw nodded sowly, "Sorry, I was distracted by the fish." She tried to steady herself, the floating bit felt funny. Her feet naturally sought solid ground, her hands reaching out to steady herself. She grabbed the nearst thing, Savith's shirt, pulling herself to him. "Thank you, but can i get down now? LIke I said, I like my feet on the ground..." She glanced at Dancer, but was too distracted with floating to respond.

Savith inhaled sharply as a flailing foot made contact with his shin, a bare hand's breath above his ankle. He grimaced ever so slightly, tucked his foot up and away as he nodded wordlessly at Dewpaw's request. Gingerly he lowered her to the ground and set her upon her feet; the pull of the world was slow to take her back from Savith's magical grasp. He sent nothing, the slight openness of his mind toward Dancer's during his locksend, had been slammed shut with that spike of pain.

The way his mind snapped shut made her blink and take in a breath. She knew he must be hurting. Once Dew Paw was on her feet she looked at Savith. "Why don't you fly ahead and let the others know she is back?" She smiled brightly though she knew better. "That way Dew Paw and I can talk more about what we intend to do with our new home." She gave the cub a wink and a chuckle. "Right?"

Dewpaw took a moment to steady herself, swying slightly as she landed. She still held onto Savith's shirt, but let go when she saw he was in pain. She glanced at his ankle, realizing what she had done. "Sorry," she mumbled pathetically. She turned to keep walking, sending privately to Dancer as she did *Why are you sending Savvy away?* The send was filled with confusion. She liked Savith being there, both Savith and Dancer.

She smiled softly at Dew then turned to keep walking but next to her. Sending back to her alone she said softly. *He hurts. It would probably be best for him to prop his leg up for a while maybe even rest if he can. I like Savith very much as well and only send him away because he will not say it hurts I need to go.* "So go forth fluttering bird and spread the word that we should have a celabration soon because our cub has come back to us all." She bit her lip slightly. Yes she was pushing him away ut for his own good. She hoped he could see that.

Savith shook his head lightly at Dewpaw as she let go of the front of his uniform. "Fret not, hatchling," he stated, voice only slightly strained. He glanced up at Dancer, likewise uncertain why he was being shooed away. It made his moss-colored eyes narrow sharply at her as he bowed in midair. The motion had a semi-mocking feel to it, as his softly spoken words held a sharp edge to them, "As you Command." Indeed, the last word fairly dripped with a dark shadowy chill. And with that, and without not looking back, the glider shot straight upwards, sliding sidewise to avoid this branch and that branch, until he was out of sight and above the canopy. His mind was closed to Dancer, should she seek to locksend toward him.

*She's just worried* Dewpaw sent quickly to Savith as he flew off, pressing hard for him to hear. She sighed, returning to Dancer. "I trip a lot, when people send to me. I can't help it. My mind kind of, wonders." She glanced down at the path, faint wolf tracks visible from Morningtail, wh had already gone on ahead to find food. "Were the others really worried? i mean, we alreay met..."

From above and privately to Dewpaw, Savith presses back only a glimmer of the chill caused by his own agitation as he sends the words, **We shall talk when I am more amiable,** just before his mind shuts the cubling out gently, like an adult closing a bedroom door to give himself a timeout, then leaning on it to keep the child from bursting into the room crying.

Dancer sighed softly as Savith left. She would forever be saying sorry to him for one thing or another she guessed. Her head hung a bit and some of her joy seemed to leave with her grumpy friend. "I know he didn't like being sent away like that but it was for his own good. He trys to hard to be strong for everyone." Then she shut her yap and looked at Dew. A soft smile touched her lips but still she wsn't as haappy as before. "Of course everyone was worried. Our numbers are so small now that if any of us just vanished it would leave a hole in all our hearts." Dncer gave Dew a fake look of anger. "Don't you go running off again cub or forty lashes with a willow branch." A light chuckle escaped her as she teased.

"He was out hunting when I came. I think he just doens't like being told when to rest." Dewpaw picked up a branch, "I think its a male thing." She started to whip the branch through the air in front of her, slashing at nothing in paticular. "I thought willow branched were for swordfighting. But I promise not to run off again mommy, unless I'm with Savvy." She thought back to her only real day with the otehr elves, "Or Blaze, didn't her say something about protecting me? Did anyone else find us?"

"Savith doesn't like to be told much if it goes against what he feels. He also doesn't want to appeaar weak. Both male trates yes. He will get over it though. Give him some time alone is all." Her eyes rolled a bit at the mention of Blaze, "If you go out with that fool don't just pick up this and touch that like he does. The hot head nearly got himself killed." Now she laughed remembering that day. "No new elves as of yet have joined our little band but I'm sure in time we will gain more." She walked slowly, taking her time getting back to the cove and possiably facing the grumpy Savith again.

"Savith sounds like my brother... he was like that." She slashed at the air again, "You know, for a bird, he sure does have a wolfrider spirit." She whacked the branch against a tree, hard enough to break it. "I know a lot about the woods. What plants to touch and not. No worries." She turned, walking backwards breifly to look Dancer in the eye, "My brother was a tree-shaper. He made sure I knew everything he did." She frowned slightly, but quickly hid it, turnign back to walk forward.
