Gosh, I feel awful for the admins. Gaia is still losing money every month, so they need all the help they can get.
At least they are going to release, them, though.

That's because the GCD and SF do nothing but complain about everything. I mean, it's okay to voice your opinion but they seem to complain about almost everything that Gaia gives to us.

They should be lucky to even get this stuff. In the old days, you could go weeks, sometimes months without a decent update. These days Gaia's actually trying to keep itself alive, and all those spoiled brats can do is complain?

Okay, first, principles are principles: event skins shouldn't be sold, they should be earned. That's what makes them event skins on the first place.
Now, that doesn't mean I don't feel bad about the whole situation. Gaia needs all the money it can get, and I would be donating if our Visa card was available already.

According to Fleep;
The skins will be sold in Skin Tyte. They will mostly all be extremely cheap. There are some which will turn you into various past forms (Grunny, Vampire, and such). Some of the more recent ones will cost slightly more. There are very few that will be high-priced, making them rare. The Evil Zurg energy drink will still be the same, unlike Red Bino which will turn into a potion. They are currently in the hands of QA (Quality Assurance), to be tested for bugs and glitches, and will be out shortly if all is well.

Well, all the crying and gnashing of teeth is for naught, as we're getting the skins--free. Which I'm rather glad of--and no, I don't feel guilty.
I am interested in seeing this supposed emo Fleep post, though. Anyone have a link?

Naruto Ginji Lestat maybe we should issue them an apology for being so harsh before we even knew the details? Would you believe I already talked with Fleep about this in the pms? He said something that got me thinking. I'm going to post it because he really is right. Fleep Kuma Woode I read your recent forum posts about the skins and all that and I felt the need to apologize. I've been an active hater on Gaia when it came to sponsors and such, but reading your post made me feel guilty. I forget sometimes that Gaia is how some people make a living and it's not just the small time site it use to be. So... I guess, thanks. For all the hard work you do.... Plus, I really think you need a to hear a thank you right now after the big commotion made over the skins. That one girl in site feed back who made the thread you posted in made me feel horrible. Some things just shouldn't be said....
Thanks, Fleep. I know how hard you guys work and I respect that. Especially since you don't get to hear it a lot. I really appreciate the support, Kuma, and honestly I tend to find that some of the people who hate Gaia the most are the ones who love it the most, and don't like to see it get corrupted by money. The sad reality of course is that as Gaia grows, it's costs grow faster than its userbase does. (e.g., the cost of maintaining 100 servers can cost 4 x as much as maintaining 50 servers. It grows like that, exponentially razz ) We're still keeping everything free, including sponsorships -- even though I agree that a number of them are lame and I hate them, just as much as any other Gaian. In any case, thanks for the message -- I hope you're enjoying the event, and I hope we can keep Gaia a fun place for everyone heart

Well..... that... sucks.
Like... for the grombies and what not.
But..... I've also always wanted to be a grombie *ponders*
Still.... it sucks for them
And.... I feel sorry for Gaia that it is losing money... but an event skin is an event skin.

I feel sorry for Gaia that it is losing money... but an event skin is an event skin. They're making up for the lost money by selling those kewl event shirts in the Gstore. Not to mention bribing people with Gaia items to go with them.

Actually, I really resent the vitriol by the OP. Events aren't just about getting skins, we put a ton of work and gave you entertainment AND 14 event items plus 4 upcoming prizes that aren't skins. We kept them out of Cash Shop because it's better that way, when users show unabounding hatred for things that we consider doing to keep ourselves in business make me, personally, question why we work so hard in the first place.

I think it's really sad that these people put hours into this kinda stuff and testing it for glitches, and all they get is a bunch of people complaining. Those spoiled brats in the GCD need to grow up and get a life. They're expecting something for nothing, and even though that's what gaia started out as, with it growing as much as it is, if it's going to keep going then it needs to make some money. The Imps certainly helped, but they're still losing money hand over fist. We shouldn't complain when they put stuff in the Gaia Cash Shop. Because when they keep stuff out of there, we're really just shortening the time that gaia will be active and running. Not that i'm not grateful that they kept it out of there, but still, those GCDers are being spoiled brats.

Original Poster i understand gaia needs to sell s**t to pay the bills, but it's your MARKETING approach that is completely FUBAR'd and causing all these pissed off users. you're trying to put the WRONG things in the cash shop for the WRONG prices. event skins? not a cash shop item. consumables? not a cash shop item. and for the love of christ, when you're adding new EIs to the cash shop, DON'T spit out a stream of expensive ones and then hold your heads in shock when the users get pissed. mix it up. and really, if some criticism as to gaia's business tactics makes you all sniffly and question why you do what you do, you're working for the wrong company. you know as well as anyone else here that SF is ALWAYS gonna be filled with complaints, and emotional ones at that, as a lot of users are very attached to this place and invest a lot of their time, money and energy into it. it's not even the devs we're upset with - it's whoever is making these executive decisions, such as "LULZ LET'S TAKE ALL THESE SKINS EVERYONE WANTS SO BAD AND MAKE THEM ONE-USE AND CASH-SHOP-ONLY LOLOLOLOLOL". unless, of course, the devs ARE the ones making those decisions, in which case I DEMAND FLEEP'S HEAD ON A PIKE!! scream scream scream
