Kara wasn't sure what to think as she was lead out of the room by Ryo. The mother, Ms. Etchi, seemed not to approve of Kara for some reason or another that she knew not way, but it probably didn't help that she started stuttering and had started off the run with a trip and fall. For some reason the woman had made her nervous; was that normal?

But what brought more questions to her mind was Ryo's sentence: "Sorry about mom. She's just....weird." Kara's eyes blinked in confusion; that's odd, what did he mean by "weird" exactly? It was such a vague word and had such a broad possibility of answers, that it even made her robot head want to spin in irritation. But it was probably best not to have these questions answered at the moment; hopefully they will reveal themselves in time. Therefore, she merely nodded quietly and picked up her skirt just a tad at the feet as they went up the stairs, so she wouldn't trip. The G.I.R.L. figured that the bedrooms lie up here, especially after the conversation downstairs.

Lea watched Keith look around her room. It was obvious by his expression that he didn't much care for it. When he mentioned sprucing the room up, she knew she was correct.

The idea did sound like fun. The room was pretty boring. But was it normal for a boy to concentrate so much on a G.I.R.L.'s needs like this? Lea didn't know. She had no prior experience with boys, so she deduced that this must be normal behavior.

"Oh, okay!" Lea nodded eagerly. If this was what Keith wanted to do, then it was what she wanted to do, too.

"It's mostly bedrooms and the bathroom up here. There's one more floor with the linen closet and a couple of bedrooms. One of them is supposed to be for guests, but I argued mom into letting you use it. This one is my room." Ryo pauses by a door and opens it. The room would probably be pretty tidy if there weren't instruments and half organized sheets of manuscript paper all over. He then closes the door. "You're welcome to come and go there as you please. I promise, I'm not going to be too busy." That still just tickled him. The next door he banged on.

"Nooo, go 'way." Came a male voice from within. "This is my brother Sachio. Who is about to get dragged out of his room in a headlock. Get up, mom made breakfast." There's some more noise before Sachio finally emerges, still in pajamas. He blinks a few times at Kara, finger combing his mussed hair.

"Dood, she's cute. I thought she'd look more fake or something. Nice." Ryo grinned; this was a much better reaction. "Her name is Kara. I'm showing her around. Showed her everything on this floor besides the bathroom and Jeimu's dungeon." Ryo hooked a thumb over his shoulder at an open door that was as littered with video games and video game accessories as Ryo's was with musical things.

"Don't show her in there; she'll never make it back out." Sachio warned in a mock spooky voice.

She's not a real girl.

I know.

But you're acting like she is.

I know. Shut up.

Keith argued with himself mentally. He'd been raised to be a gentleman, and he'd never been told not to be one if the girl was really a robot. "Yeah, so, follow me, then." Keith led her silently through the house. Through the kitchen, down the back hallway, past the downstairs bathroom, through the landry room, and out the back door. Then he crossed a corner of the backyard and went into the garage. His mother, the obsessively neat pack-rat, had organized and labeled the whole contents of the garage. In a few minutes, Keith found the bins he was looking for.

'Sarah's Things', 'R.J.'s Things' and 'Devon's Things' two bins each. Clear, see-through bins with neatly done tags. And there was a bit of space at the end of the shelf, surely to hold a bin labled 'Keith's Things', when he left for college next year. "Go ahead," Keith said. Sarah liked powder blue, and most of her room decoration had been blue satin or silk with cream-colored lace trim. R.J. had been artistic, and a lot of his was either brightly colored, tye-dyed, or hand painted by him. Devon had been like his father, businesslike, so his things were of leather and brass. Sarah was a doctor, R.J. an evironmental lawyer, and Devon was working for his father. Everything according to plan. Well, okay, R.J. was supposed to be a corporate lawyer, but still.

There had never been a plan for Keith. Keith had never been planned.

Keith sat in a old, sqashy armchair, and some of the stuffing leaked out through a hole in the cushion. "Pick whatever you like. If there's nothing there you want, we'll go to the store." Suddenly, Keith felt that maybe he really was sick. He waited patiently for Lea.

Kara followed quietly as Ryo began pointing out rooms. Her hypothesis was correct; they were in fact bedrooms and a bathroom up on this floor. She also made a mental note that there was a third floor as well, and that this..............would have her room in it? Strange, she had not been expecting her own room. Well, ok, so the guest room was her expectation, since that was usually a normal thing according to studies of other G.I.R.L.s and their places. She had done alot of research before arriving here.

She trailed not on these thoughts long, though; the family was much more important. She also made a discovery as Ryo opened his room for a moment; he seemed to really be into music, for there were instruments and papers all over the place. The papers looked handwritten........was he composing? How creative!

As they came to another room, Ryo had knocked on the door loudly; apparently the one in there was still asleep. A few moments later, the boy came out, not yet dressed for the day, and began complimenting her. She didn‘t say anything though, for she knew not what to say, though Ryo looked in a better mood.

But upon talking about a dungeon belonging to the sister Jeimu, Kara raised an eyebrow in concern; did she really live in a dungeon?! But upon Ryo pointing a thumb backwards towards another room, Kara sighed in relief; so it was just a nickname made by the brothers.

“What is so bad about this room of Jeimu‘s? I see nothing but entertainment system games and accessories to such techonlogy.” she answered in confusion, almost wanting to go in now just to see why it was so bad. Was that a normal thought?

"You can never go back... you can... never... go... back...!" Sachio exaggerated in his spooky voice, undulating his body like a living cooked noodle. "She said down! Too late now!"

Ryo snickers. "Go eat breakfast, dork." Sachio looks about to protest to being called a dork, but settles for giving Ryo a dirty look before trudging off downstairs. Ryo continued speaking, this time to Kara. "Hers isn't really any worse than my room. We pretty much only joke about it because she always leaves it like that, door wide open and everything. Just be careful if you go in; there's lots of stuff to step on in there."

As he speaks he leads her upstairs. "Sorry to put you all the way up on the third floor. The rest of us are too lazy to climb all the way up here one a regular basis." He grins then knocks lightly on the first door they reach. A tall, thin older man pokes his head out of the door. The room behind him is putting off the smell of tobacco. "Mom wanted to know if you wanted lunch."

"Tell her-"

"Can't; still haven't shown Kara her room. Seeya. Last stop, Kara's new digs." He takes Kara into the room directly across and closes the door. He really didn't want to stick around chatting. "Um... we just don't get along too well." He says apologetically to Kara, by way of explanation. "So I avoid him when I can. Anyway, this is your space now."

There isn't much in the room. A closet, dresser, nightstand and bed. A lamp on the nightstand. It was, without doubt, a very boring room. The wooden floor was plain except for a cream colored rug next to the bed. The rug matches the walls and the beds linens are green and white striped. "This concludes the ten cent tour of house Etchi. And since I suck at showing people around, you probably have questions." He smiles at Kara.

Kara hid a chuckle as the boy Sachio began to wiggle about like a spaghetti noodle, as Ryo ends the conversation with a natural name-calling. Sachio left with a dirty look, but Kara figured it was just how brothers acted about each other. As Ryo explained, Kara nodded. "That's what I figured, but I wasn't entirely sure." After all, she still owed Jeimu a soda, and it'd be bad to wait if she was in her room if it had been a dangerous place.

As they headed upstairs, he sounded a bit apologetic as he mentioned her being on the third floor. "Oh, that's perfectly alright! I like views up high anyways!" she answered cheerfully, as they made it up to the room that was hers-

Oh wait, that wasn't right, for as soon as the door opened, a tall thin man, perhaps the father of the family, had put his head out of the door. As a rush of strange smelling air met her nose, she could suddenly feel her systems whirlling loudly in some anger, and she began to cough heavily, so if there were any words between the two (she saw mouths moving, she could hear them not. Her system must not like smoke very much; that wouldn't be good if she had to keep contact with that man......

Thankfully, they had not stayed long, for she felt her free hand grabbed and they went right across the hall to another room and shut the door. She took a moment to let the coughing subside, and thankfully could hear Ryo this time, and her systems returned to normal.

"Oh, so you two aren't too close? *cough* That's sort of a good thing, as awful as that sounds (ah, what a horrible thing to say!), but I think the mechanics I am made of are made of material that are *cough* sensitive to smoke, or whatever that was. I'm fine now, though! My apologizes!" she answered, and added the last part quickly, actually quite relieved. She'd have to serve him if they were close and all, and if she malfunctioned like that again on a daily basis that wouldn't look good on her record.

She then looked about the room. It had all the necessary furniture and lighting. While it was very plain, this excited Kara; she was looking foward to adding her own taste to it!

"Hm? Oh, no, you did a wonderful job! I can't thank you enough! The room, the tour, everything!" she said, smiling at the boy with one of those charming smiles again, although not aware of it. She gave him a light hug, in case he wasn't used to such bold expressions of gratitude, wrapping her arms around him. He was very warm, she noted. She let go and let the other part of his paragraph sink in.

"Questions? Hm.........do you keep sewing materials somewhere?" she asked curiously; she could make some decent casual clothes and stuff for the room with just some felt and either needles nad thread, or a sewing machine.

"You are so perfect", Ryo decided aloud as Kara gave him the sweetest smile and a hug, to boot. He lightly touched her hair and her cheek before he got his mind back on track and dropped his hand to his side. "It's not a horrible thing to say. That stuff is nasty even for me. He's my mom's boyfriend and probably wouldn't ask you for anything anyway. He's not supposed to smoke in the house to begin with, but at least he's keeping to smoking in his room. As for sewing supplies, you're in luck! We keep that stuff right up here in the linen closet."

Ryo cracks the door to make sure Steven's not there, then he steps out and opens the linen closet. Under all the shelves are a sewing machine, thread, needles and other such paraphernalia. There was some fabric and scraps in a box that Ryo pointed to. "Any fabric stuff in there is fair game. Nothing on the shelves, though. That's our sheets and stuff; mom would kill me. Hmn... not a ton here, but you know, there's this fabric store not too far from here. We can go find whatever you need."

Ryo was half tempted to ask his mom along; she and Sachio were the only people in the house that could sew half decent. Maybe it would give her a higher opinion of Kara to see the robot G.I.R.L. volunteering for something so bori- er, creative. And much as he tried to shrug it off, he did care what his mother thought.

"The rest of the house is just bunches of empty rooms no one uses. We also have a grand library down the hall, and a music room next door to that. Oh, and if you need anything, like.. pillows or something, there's a button next to the bed's to call for attendants who are at station 24 Hours a Day." Ren explained briefly.

"Clothes.. well, I'll get you to talk with my mom. She'll probably want to take you shopping, or something." Ren told her, turning to look at the girl. Or robot.

Whichever.

Fly on the wings of love....

Mari nodded, her information station-esque thing storing all that Master Ren told her. On instinct, she looked back at her master, ready for the frown, or upset look. It made her reactors nervous, knowing this. That she was doing something to upset the person who owned her, but her pre-installed memory banks told her that she had to look at a person if they were talking.

It was just good manners, even if it did upset Master Ren.

Kara felt a blush come onto her face; surely he really didn't think that? No one was perfect, which included her as well in that mix.

But at the sound of sewing stuff, Ryo had led Kara to the closet out in the hall of the third floor. Happy and excited, she began looking through what materials she had as the boy explained stuff to her. There were plenty of threads and needles, and lots of little bits of fabric. She had come across some larger pieces, but she wasn't sure if it'd be enough for clothing, but she could sure fill the room with some of this stuff!

She also couldn't help but wonder why his mother wasn't married; since this wasn't Ryo's biological father (since it's not humanly possible, seeing the age of the kids!), then that means there's some family history going on, but best for her not to ask anyways. It was none of her business, and she'd find out in the long run anyways.

"Hm, lots of good bits of fabic in here; this would be good for the bedroom.." she mused to herself. She especially seemed to like one piece that had some puffy clouds on it, obviously a bit childish since they had little cartoon Japanese-cute-style faces and little blush marks. It was very soft as well; she wouldn't wear that around (unless for pajamas), but perhaps some more for the bedding would do the trick. There were also some pretty flower ones too, and a sunset one as well.

Ryo smiled as he watched Kara pick through the pieces of fabric. She was just adorable. She'd even blushed before; he had to admit he didn't expect that. Could he really embarrass a G.I.R.L.? Enough for her to want to get away from him? No; he was pretty sure they must be programmed to put up with much stranger guys than he was. That was the best part, he thought as he touched her hair again. He couldn't scare this one away. He chuckled a little at the soft, puffy clouds fabric. "That's really cute. I can't wait to see what you do with it."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 04, 2008 4:48 pm

Kara was slightly oblivious to whatever Ryo was thinking at hte moment as she went through the rest of the bits of fabric. She seemed to like the little Japanese-cartoonish ones, though why they were even in here she had no clue. But it was such a shame to see them in some little cluttered place unseen, when they could be of great use!

"Hm? Oh, I've got a few options, but most of this stuff looks pretty good." she nodded, as she took out several more unused pieces of felt, some Japanese style, some flowers, some of just plain color. "Thanks again! I'll go through some practice runs before making anything for the rest of you all, of course; by then I'll have whatever processes memorized." she nodded again.

Ryo looked at the cutesy, cartoony fabrics and grinned, trying hard not to laugh again. There was a reason they were boxed away, after all. Even his youngest brother was already thirteen; too old for such childish designs. But Kara seemed excited about it and he couldn't bring himself to take that from her. "You are just too cute, you know that? Hey, do you want this stuff in your room, then? So you won't have to run back and forth any time you need something."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 05, 2008 2:25 pm

Kara by now had gathered several bits of different kinds of fabrics that were now held in her arms. She turned to Ryo at his question.

"Hm? Oh, that would be good, if you aren't needing it anytime soon. I wouldn't want to seem like I'm hording the items and keeping them away." she answered, before picking up one of the sewing needles.

Now, her robot form was more apparent as she took a moment to examine the tiny needle between her soft fingers, her eyes changing into various colors of the rainbow faster than the speed of light as she bore a concentrated expression. She was getting the name of the tool into her head (or, popping up as text on the side of her vision), what it was made out of, as well as it's function, programmed somewhere deep into her system. She had all the necessary information already; it was just a matter of awakening it for actual use. She watched silently as the text appeared before her and other gears began to whirl normally:

*boo beep*

NAME OF DEVICE: SEWING NEEDLE

MATERIAL: A COMMON SILVER, CARRYING NO ALLERGIC MATERIALS. HARMLESS UNLESS POKING THE TIP OR DRIVING IT INTO YOUR SKIN OR OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY.

FUNCTION: A TOOL FOR THE USE OF TURNING CLOTH TO OTHER ITEMS, SUCH AS BEDDING, CLOTHES, COVERS, OR OTHER MATERIALS.

ANALYSIS COMPLETE.

*boo beep*

After a moment of this, she shrugged and began finding some sewing thread, as if nothing had happened.

Ryo watches Kara examine the needle curiously. He didn't say anything, not certain she could even hear him when she was concentrating. He watched her eyes, the different colors they took on while her system was analyzing. Not that he really understood what she was doing. He just found the rapid changes interesting to watch, though impossible to really follow.

When she shrugged, he spoke again. "No one uses this stuff but mom and nowadays she really only mends stuff we've ripped. So she won't need it that often at all. Heck, the only thing I'm afraid of is her dumping all the mending on you. Doesn't sound like fun." Ryo paused, then stroked his chin. "Come to think of it... I don't know what you do for fun. Are you programmed to like or dislike certain things?"
