Maera watched the fire and didn't turn her gaze before continuing. "Fire may be predictable at times, but if you try to control it or shape where it moves..." she picked up a stick and moved the wood in under the fire, causing it to flare greatly and flow with the wind. "...it can be truly unpredictable."

Blaze turned to the fire and watched as she talked. She was right and very wise. "You are very wise." He liked listening to her. "Feel like being unpredictable?" He wasn't sure what they could do, but maybe she did?

Maera smiled slily at him from the complement. "Thank you," she replied, and the smile remained. "Unpredictable, you say? What might that be?" She turned the wood once more and the fire went out in an instant. All that remained with te smoldering sticks.

Blaze liked her smile, he figured that it wasn't seen too often. "I don't know? A race through the forest? A dance right here to no music? What do you think?" He smiled a silly smile back at her.

Maera smirked back to him in the now near total darkness in the forest. A small chain of cicadas cried their night songs as she stared at him, and a quick, small breeze pushed through. "I'm open to just about anything."

"Ok then!" He chuckled and ran forward and tagged her shoulder and then ran off. "You are it!" He hoped that was unpredictable as he dodged through the trees. Without the fire going it was hard for him to see and go fast, he was mostly trying to miss hitting the trees.

Meara remained still as she allowed herself to be tagged, his movement already predicted seconds beforehand. She looked to where he ran and stared, her dilated eyes seeing perfectly in the near black landscape. "I'm coming..." she hummed before jumping into the trees and running after him with a very quick speed not hindered by the trees or the darkness at all.

Blaze heard her call and sped up just a bit, well as much as he could allow. He knew he was unevenly matched with her knowing the forest and being good in the dark, but he thought it would be fun anyway. He continued to run feeling her closeby, ducked under some brush and kept going.

Maera noticed him change his ways of running and assumed that he could hear her. With just a slight pace change she made herself near silent as she chased after him. She was running directly above him in the trees when she began to laugh softly, and hummed, "Come out come out wherever you are."

Blaze continued to run through the forest only tripping over a weed or branch here or there. He heard her voice and it was a bit disorienting. He chuckled at it as it was thrilling. He then changed his whole direction and actually went backward, maybe to buy a bit of time.

Maera changed her direction directly as Blaze did, her eyes predicting the movement ahead of time. She smiled to herself as she remained directly above. She began to laugh this time, starting very quietly but progressively growing louder and louder until it echoed throughout the trees.

Blaze continued to run even with the laughter coming from above. He knew it was just a matter of seconds before she got him, but he didn't mind. He then skidded and saw something interesting. He ran into a fallen tree and then stopped in the middle? Which way would she come and get him from?

Maera smirked as she saw him run into the log, and very lightly jumped above where she predicted him to be. She punched the wood inches from his left and right, laughing as she poked him. "You're it," she chimed before jumping up and back into the trees.

Blaze laughed as she punched through the tree to get to him. She was a go getting and very perceptive. He probably wasn't going to catch up unless she wanted him too. Blaze nodded to himself and then slid through the tree and jumped up into the trees as he firgured that's where she had gone.

Maera jumped high into the shadows of the tree leaves before crouching down low and hiding in them. Her eyes looked from where she hid, watching Blaze's attempt to try and find her.
