April 29, 2005. When will the Quidditch Season finally start? We know for a fact there are players missing from each team, but what are the Houses doing while their teams fill up? They haven't been training or even recruiting players. The only team who has publicly been trying to get all their positions filled is the Slytherin team, and still there aren't enough players willing to play.
So, get your brooms, gather some friends and get onto the field! Who knows?! You could be the next Krum or Ivanova and you still don't know it! Give yourself and your House a chance and tryout for your team now! (For more information on when and where the tryouts are being held, contact your Head of House).

Our Witch of the Month This is where we post the Witch or Wizard of the Month! Their Avatar and interview will be posted. That girl who seems to always be hanging around. Who?s been here as long as just about any of us and longer than most others. That all-around good girl?? RubyRays! A: Carol
Q: Have you read all the books? How many times?
A: Yes I've read all of the books! Umm....How Many times?...err....Total(all of them together)22 times
Q: Which is your favorite?
A: PoA and GoF
Q: Have you seen all of the (so far) 3 movies based on the books?
A: Yes and I've seen PoA in DVD 13x's
Q: Which is your favorite of those?
A: PoA, D'uh!
Q: How did you find out about Gaia?
A: I saw this girl at school on it, but I didn't think to much about it...then a week later Tori(Dragons375) found out about it and signed up....then I followed...I'm usually not a follower, but she said that it was really cool.
Q: What's your favorite thing to do? Out side of Gaia?
A: On here, I like to fish and take polls and read posts in the Video Game disscustion fourm. Outside of Gaia I like to: play video games, read manga's, read book, talk to my friends and work on my website.
Q: Are you in any other guilds? Are you as active in those?
A: Yes and No
Q: How often would you say you are on Gaia/the Guild Forum?
A: 6/7days of the week(total for both)
Q: How do you feel about your recent "crew/mod" abilities? Do you enjoy your new power?
A: They took me a while to get used to them, and when I go to other guilds I feel wierd not being able to use them. I enjoy having them, they make me feel special, but I do not wish to missuse them. So I respect them...but having these ability's does put a lot of pressure on you, but that's okay with me!
Q: What is your favorite book or author? Besides Harry/J.K.?
A: The Wayfarer Redemption trilogy By: Shara Douglass
Q: What is your most prized piece of clothing or accessory (sp?)?
A: A: My ring with eight skulls on it, my chain/skater beads, my black eyeliner and my horns!
Q: Do you have a favorite character from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books? Who is it?(it?s ok to have more than one, I know I do)
A: Yes, Ronald and Fred Weasley!
Q: What do you think about being deemed the Witch of the Month?
A: It's awesome, and I'm glad I was chosen!
Q: Lastly, is there anything else you want to tell the members of the guild?
A: Yes, I would like everybody to do there homework in the classes, and Teacher's please lay off the homework assignments for a little bit and let the students catch up...and I think that's it!

Sudden Outbreak in Student Holidays By: Mafalda Prewett
Tue May 03, 2005 1:39 pmSummer is on its way and everyone is itching to get out of the castle. So, a Hogsmeade Weekend sign has been posted and ever since all sorts of students have been flocking away from their studies and into the sunny streets of Hogsmeade. Just a day after the sign was posted, almost seven of Hogwart's best students have taken advantage of the trip. The teachers and headmistress can only hope that this little treat for the students won't affect their studying habits and thus their scores on the end of years tests.

Christen Wilson's Story
Chapter One:
The Bite... By: Christen Wilson
---Have you ever wondered how it feels like to be the odd one out of your own high school? Well I sure do, it is like having the cheerleaders come face to face to you and say you suck or something but I do not suck since my life changes in 11th grade. My name is Remus Lupin and I am the smartest of our school but everybody thinks different. What does a sophomore have to do to show that he does not suck and is NOT stupid? Well, I don't know and I don't WANT to know. Well here is where it all starts...
September 16th 2004, Grand View high school.
---Remus jogged down the hall. He was late to homeroom and needed to tell his teacher not to mark him absent, just tardy. Who should he run straight into but the new girl.
---"Excuse me, but who are you?" he asked rudely but quickly apologized. "Sorry, I'm just late and I have never been this late before" he said, picking her bag up.
---The girl smiled and replied, "It's ok, I was just finding my homeroom. My name is Sunny Daniels, by the way," she smiled again but Remus could sense she was forcing it.
---"Is something the matter?" he asked staring at her. ---"Um, I'm fine, just a little tired, that's all" Sunny replied again then walked off to avoid further questions.
---He stared after her then shrugged and walked onto homeroom. Later that day at lunch, Remus sat alone typing on his laptop for his website.
---From the far corner, Sunny watched him intensely wondering if he knew or not what her secret was. "I hope he doesn't know," She muttered hitting her head on the table.
---Remus looked back at her quickly then turned back around and started typing very quickly and quietly; writing was a talent of his. Sunny sighed and laid her head down to rest on her notebook.
---Well, in between classes, Sunny tried her hardest to find Remus but couldn't. It was finally after school when she found him in the front fumbling for his car keys.
---"There he is," she said excitedly to herself and began to head toward him until her friend, Taylor, called her name from the opposite direction. "Dang it!" Sunny muttered walking over to her friend.
---Just then, someone kicked a pair of keys over to her foot.
---"You jerk!" Remus yelled pushing someone that had apparently kicked his keys over to Sunny.
---Sunny marched up to the guy and punched him in the face "Leave him alone!" she said and then blushing slightly and not looking at him, she gave Remus his keys back then went quickly back over to her friends.
---Remus took the keys and, after a moments disbelief, walked over to what must have been his car, a silver Lamborghini.
---"Oh snaps, he has my dream car," Sunny muttered turning a bit red.
---"Oooo," Taylor said laughing. "Sunny has the hots for Lupin" she said.
---Sunny turned to her, seething, "Do you want your face punched in too? Even though I know I'll get in trouble for hurting that guy," She said gritting her teeth.
---Taylor shook her head and was quiet from then on. Sunny looked around for Remus and spotted him about to leave, since he had started his car. Sunny let out a noise of frustration and stalked off to her own car.
---About two hours later, howling was heard in the neighborhood where Remus lived.
---"What the?" Remus said looking up from his laptop; he had been working on it all night, sitting in his car where he was most comfortable. He had just noticed the howling; it was coming from across the street. ---Now, sometimes you can be dim-witted and sometimes you can be smart but Remus had taken the dim-wit route this time. He got out of his car and looked across the street and saw Sunny there being pinned by a huge wolf. Now, there is nothing strange about a wolf, is there?
---It reminded Remus of the stories he used to love as a kid about werewolves. He had always thought those were fantasy-type creatures, just made to scare kids; but here was this monster that used to scare and fascinate him so as a child, very much alive and real.
---"Get off me!" Sunny yelled pushing it off.
---Remus, in shock and only half-way out of his car in the first place fell down as well; him falling over had gotten the beasts attention. It howled again and bounded its way over to him. Remus could not get up in time and soon its claws were digging into his shoulder.
---"Get off me you bloody beast!" he yelled trying to push it off but then, after removing its claws, it bit him on the shoulder.
---Remus gave out a yell of pain that could have been heard by almost everyone within 5 miles; if not his yell, they surely would have heard the sickening crunching sound of Remus' shoulder being broken.
---It happened so quickly no one had any incline that a boy was being attacked outside of the quiet and safe of home by a enormous and rabid wolf.
---Sunny winced at the sound but knew what she had to do. She had to kill the werewolf and get Remus to the hospital as soon as possible. He was, after all, the boy she kind of had the hots for, now bleeding to death, and probably turned into a werewolf as well. For, although Lupin did not know it, a werewolf, indeed, was what had attacked him.
---She got up and dusted herself off then ran and tackled the werewolf. Then she did what she knew she had to do from the start and staked it in the heart with a silver stake. When the battle was over and she had gotten to her feet; she looked Remus' way, he was unconscious from too much blood loss.

Gryffindor Students Causes Major Discussion By: Marille E. Black.
April 17, 2005. Earlier today, the whole school witnessed an interesting discussion between a rebellious Gryffindor and Professor Amara Kunfer, the new Charms teacher. The obnoxious little Gryffindor started a small fight between a few other students, in which Professor Kunfer got involved. After trying to have dialogue like normal people, the Gryffindor could not resist the urge to use rude language or to insult everyone in sight and both, the Hogwarts Headmistress and Professor Kunfer had no other choice than to expel this little pest.
On an exclusive interview with the Charms teacher, she said she doesn't regret her decision and insists there could have been easier ways to solve the problem, but the Gryffindor refused at all costs, and left them no other choice than to force her out of the school, which will also result in the removing and breaking of her wand.

Current events:
Rollback 2k5 by: RubyRays Recently on Gaia there have been many event occurring the most recent them that has happened is the rollback, which is occurring right now. This rollback will help us all in the wonderful world of Gaia. By the rollback happening, the Admins will reset the items/gold that the users on Gaia have received over that past fivefour days. Anything that has happened after the 9th of May, as far as item acquired and gold go, will be reset back to how they were on the 9th. From all that I have read up on over the past few day, there have been many people getting up to 20,00g from this "glitch" that has happened around Gaia and have been buying stuff in the market place with tainted gold. As a result Gaia has been outted 80k+ gold. Donation item shall not be harmed with to much, and will automatically return after the rollback.
Another reason the rollback is taking place is due to the outrageous price inflation in the market place. The Admins are currently working to decrease the inflation. All of the shops have been closed to keep those botters from getting items. All trading has also stopped along with this. The last "rollback" occurred in (I believe) Sep of 2004.
Affected by this:
Rare Items (OMG Events)
Due to the abnormally high granting rate of rare items on the site during this 5-day period, we have no choice in re-granting rare events won within the past few days.
Gaia Online Forums, PMs / Disabled Sections
Unlike previous rollback, the site is going up in an "economy frozen" state. During this time, the following features will be disabled:

--Marketplace
--Avatar Saving
--Inventory
--Gaia Fishing

-----Finally, I have finished our longest issue yet. I am continuing my adverts for the guild, although I?ve put in one for the casinos because of a related article. I have also, you will notice added sections to the paper in the Index. It was just weird to have them all flow together. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy and don?t forget to get out those keyboards and get me plenty of articles for Issue # 6! (Due to come out on July 14th!)

Good Bye's are Hard By: Mafalda Prewett
June 10th, 2005. Another year has finally ended at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is with heavy hearts indeed that many of the seventh years have said their "Good Bye's" to fellow classmates whom they have know for at least seven years. It is in the groups, clubs, and teams that these good byes were heard with the most sorrow and dread. Such close friendships and ties will be put to the test in the years to follow. Many let off these sorrows by making picture books of themselves and their friends and signing them. Others left behind momentums of their legacy for the coming years to see.
Three of the many seventh years who have, are Kelcey, Krissy, and Katie. All three of them were members of Hogwart's Color Guard, a muggle performing art that is more common in America. They performed with a very small group of only seven girls and they could not bear saying good-bye to their team members. So, on the day of the End of Year Feast; they took photos, programs, and other things they have collected over their time at Hogwarts with their Guard and made a collage on the inside doors to their equipment closet.
Each girl wrote her own good-bye letter on the doors and they placed any picture of sentimental value on the doors. Then, before if was time for the younger students to return to the closet for their equipment, they took a last look at their masterpiece and left together for the End of Year Feast, tears running slowly down their faces. It was over. It was all finally over.

That Fly Guy who's been loyal and true through thick and thin! That guy who gives a good name for the "little guy" in the house competition... DevilsDarkAngel! My interview with DevilsDarkAngel: Q: What, if you are willing to disclose, is your name?
A: Kevin.
Q: How did you discover Gaia and , eventually, our lovely guild?
A: My brother and friends.
Q: Are you in any other guilds? Would you say you are more or less active in those?
A: Yes Im in more guilds but i believe im less more active in them but i try to even it out in activity.
Q: How does it feel to be in the smallest and, therefore, least popular house at Hogwarts? Upset? Glad? Angry? Worried?
A: Im glad because I know im representing. And for people who say oh noting is tied to Hufflepuff. Think about who was representing Hogwarts in the Tri-Wizard Tournament legally and what house was he in?? YEAH uh huh.
Q: Why did you choose to teach Flying of all classes?
A: Because its fun and its the next step from running in moving. And Some people can learn to control and join the House teams and compete when they can. And for others it can be practice!
Q: You are a bit of a mystery trapped in and enigma around here...What affects your activeness in the guild most, would you say?
A: I would have to say real life. Im in marching band and i do colorguard sometimes we do practices directly after school to 9:00 and i get out 2:32. So thats 6 and a half hours. I'm so dedicated to this that im straining myself to do it cause my philosophy is that noting can be great without great dedication. Like for instance tomorrow im in the ren faire all during school and from their im makinf the choice of going to sectionals instead of going home to rest and then after that i have to go back to ren fire to do the night performance which ends at 8:30.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do, outside of Gaia?
A: Guard.
Q: What is your favorite book/author outside of Harry Potter/J.K. Rowling?
A: And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.
Q: Which is your favorite character from J.K.'s books? Which do you think you are most like?
A: I really don't have a fav charater but i think that Hagrid, Dumbledore, and Sirius Black are at a tie for first. I think that I relate to Hermione most or least hard working and dedicated wise, but smarts nope not me!
Q: If you could make one aspect of the magical work real, what would it be? Broomsticks that really fly?
A: Yes i would have broomsticks that really fly. Cause then i get to play quidditch for real!
Q: What is your favorite article of clothing, for both yourself and you avatar? Do they dress similarly?
A: For me my black tank top, for my avi my glasses. And no we don't dress similarly He wears of course more yellow than i do i stay with blue red black and some time green.
Q: Which book is your favorite of the, so far, 5 Harry Potter books written by J.K. Rowling?
A: Number 4 cause of the Tri-Wizard tournament.
Q: What do you think about being chosen as the Wizard of the Month?
A: I think thats it kewl.
Q: What do you think about all this "Operation Scourgify" that all that mods are talking about?
A: ugh sorry but i really don't pay attention to what people say I go through what is happening now.
Q: Finally, is there anything you want to tell the readers?
A: That dedication is the workings of everything. Dedication is the one thing that counts in life no dedication then your life is nothing.
