no the board of education probably doesn't understand spanish... wink
Here it is...
Dear Iroquois Central Board Members,

Hello. I am writing to inform you about an issue I feel strongly about. Although I feel quite angry, I am writing with utmost respect. I am extraordinarily disapointed at your descision to disban the Middle School’s Spanish club. It was an organization I wished to participate in since grade 6. When I finally arrived to the grade when I could be involved with it, you suddenly removed a club I had looked forward to for two years. This was an unbelivable disapontment that caused myself much internal conflict.
Since grade 6, I had dreamed of being in Spanish club. When I was first aware of the club, I was already enthusiastic about learning a foreign language, let alone an opportunity of learning extra about the Hispanic culture. In grade 7, I had the option of joining International club. However, the addition of activities realted to French culture led to my reluctance to partake, and as a result, I decided that I only wanted to participate in a club that offered what I was really interested in. I only wanted to join a club that was completely focused on Hispanic culture, which I was looking forward to experience in grade 8. I was so exhilarated and couldn’t wait to participate. However, I would later find out I was incredibly wrong.
The summer prior to grade 8, I was thrilled I would finally be able to seek my grand opportunity. But when I became aware that Spanish club no longer exsisted, my heart dropped to the floor. I was so shoked that I was utterly speechless. I felt angry that I was deprived of a special privilege that I had thought I could experience no matter what. I wanted to speak up, however, I was to passive to express how I feel about this unfortunate situation. Although Spanish club was cut, International club remained for both grade 7 and grade 8 students. I feel it is unfair to deprive a student, in their last year in a school, of a privilege only open to them. Now, living at the end of this school year, I look back to th prior summer. I think about how I expected to be in the Spanish club photograph for this year’s yearbook. It makes me depressed to know that I will never have a yearbook with such a photograph to look back at and think of great times I had while partaking in it. I am literally heart-broken. I do not mean to be offensive to you, but this was a callous action in my confused eyes. Thank you for your time, please consider this letter.
Sincerely,
Rachel Z

To each his own I suppose, or in this modern world, his or her own. It was the little things in French that killed me! All the easy words and letters, I just couldn't learn them!
