Magmafang followed quietly. He looked at the sky, wondering if they really were going to find Wildpaw by nightfall. He sure hoped so.
He felt open out in the field and nervous. What if someone saw them walking around outside their territory? He looked back at the border and felt sure that no one was watching them. He tried to get his mind off getting caught and tried to think about what he would say to his brother.

Fairly soon, they arrived at the forboding woodland fringe. He glanced at it, and continued his job. Some thick patches of brambles grew nearby, and he studied them closley, picking up som fresher cat scent, Wildpaw's scent. He began following the fresher trail into the forest, observing some broken grass fronds and some sratch marks on some trees as they went deeper into the ominous wood.

Soon Magmafang thought he could pick up his brother's scent and he had a hard time keeping himself from running ahead of Spiritpaw. His tail waved in impatience and he felt himself getting a little nervous. He had no idea what he would say to his brother.

Spiritpaw led deeper still until the scent was overpowering the other scents aroudn him.
"This is it. This is where Wildpaw has been living. Look," He mewoed, flicking his tail to the log, then to some old prey bones outside of it. " I also smell prey from within his log...He still has to hunt, so he would return his food to his home..." Spiritpaw trailed off, his ear pricking.

A low snarling came from a ridge slightly above them, twin purple orbs glaring down at them. A hoars voice caled out, one that no longer resembled the good natured wildpaw they had knowen.
"Leave! Now! You do not belong here!"

Magmafang turned to face his brother, feeling joy flood into him.
"What are you talking about? You don't belong here, you belong in ShadowClan!"
He said that as if he was never hurt in the battle. He wanted so badly for Wildpaw to come back and for them to be friends again!

Wildpaw hiised furiously, and stepped aneapt down from the shadowed ledge. He would have given his mother a fright with how he looked. In the five days he had been out here, he already looked like a roge that would rip another cat apart. His tteth were bared in snarl, and his claws unsheathed. His fur was matted with traces of dried blood, dried mud, twigs, and leaves. He still had his large figure and seemed well fed and strong. Heios ears were flattened to his head and his fur bristled angrily.
"I dont belong at all!" He snapped. "ShadowClan has no need of cats like me. I'm a disgrace. Now leave!"

"Do you really think I'm going to leave here without you?" Magmafang asked, disregarding his brother's mangy appearance.
He tried to keep calm as he reasoned with Wildpaw.
"Everyone's worried about you."

Wildpaw knew very well that Magmafang would not leave without him, no matter what. But his desire to see his family was overpowered by by his hatred for himself.
"Do you really expect me to feel welcome after what happened? I tried to kill you! and I didnt even realize it. What Clan would want a cat like me!?"

"Hey, you use your strength on our enemies, what clan wouldn't want you? Besides, that fight... it was my fault anyway."
It was hard for him to admit that, but he wanted to do anything to bring his brother back.
"I shouldn't have taunted you like that. I knew it made you angry..."

Wildpaw let out a snarl all of a sudden.
"Lies! If it anycat's fault, itsmine," He hissed, looking away. He was truly ashamed of himself, and would always blame himself fo that fight. He knew he could never be the same, his hatred of himself wouldnt let him...but just because he was mad at himself, didnt mean he had to abandon those who loved him. He would do as they asked...it was all he had left to do. "Fine..." he whispered. "I'll come back."

((THE END! XD))
