Callista sighed. "You are a ponyof the earth because you are earth bound. I am a true pony of the earth. I have to have the earth to survive. Eventually I will have to sleep in the earth, like Mommy and Daddy. And I need blood to survive." She looked up at Valzar to see what his reaction would be to that. He would probably think her a vampire.

"Blood is my food. I can't eat normal food. It makes me sick. Meat especially. So I have to drink blood to survive. Mommy always mixes it up for me because I'm too little yet to hunt."

Callista blinked, not sure how much more she should tell him. "We hunt. Like a wolf, we hunt prey. That's how we get our nourishment."

"Well...um..." Callista fidgeted. "That depends on who you are. Mommy only uses women because Daddy can't stand the thought of her touching other men. And Daddy only hunts males because Mommy doesn't like him touching any woman but her."

Callista shot Valzar a weird look. "Yes..." One of her eyebrows was raised as she stared at him. "All of our males hunt. It is their right and duty. That Daddy lets Mommy hunt is a miracle. Females are rare and Daddy says they should be guarded and treasured for the wonderful creatures they are."
