Corrah stared openly at Niyana for a moment, wondering why she was staring at the ground when she had asked him for directions; but then he shrugged mentally and pointed down the mountain towards the east.

"There," he said simply. "That is where you came from. I will see you again tomorrow."

And then he was gone, off between the trees, cowl over his head once more.

Celebor waited a moment until the strange man was out of sight, then looked at Niyana and raised one eyebrow.

"Well ... that was interesting," he mused.

Niyana stood again and turned to walk in the direction Corrah pointed them, "Yes it was..I don't know do you think we should trust him? I mean I guess we can give the children the option of being trained with him.

Celebor nodded and followed after Niyana. "Yes," he agreed. "If they don't want to be, then we won't make them. I get the feeling that Ruque might not be so fond of him ... or of the idea of training in general, he's quite peace-loving. So different from the others."

Niyana nods, "Well then I can train him on cooking and stuff like that at home wail his siblings train on their bodies. But we should give him the offer though just incase." she held out her hand for Celebor's.

Celebor took Niyana's hand and squeezed it tightly, smiling warmly at her. "I agree," he nodded. "First thing in the morning, then.

And it was indeed almost first thing the next morning when they were back in the same place, this time with all four of the children with them. Celebor had started out carrying Aras and Kanis, but now that they had arrived at their destination he had set them down and was letting them run around on their own - as long as they promised to stay within sight.

He hadn't told the kids who they would be meeting, only that they would be meeting someone.

Kanis didn't know why they were going out so early but she was excited and loved the mountains.

When her father set her down and said she could explore she brightened even more and moved off to explore the area. "A knight always get familiar with their area....or was that thieves?" She spoke to herself.

Niyana watched Kanis go and she set down thier sons. Ruran had not spoken often to her since the day he met Idhril and she was slightly worried but he was a moody child.

"Alright boys you can explore a bit if you like...but like your father said stay were we can see you."

Ruran sat near his parents watching the others moving around.

The moment Aras's feet hit the ground, she was off exploring the area around them.

"Everything's so big here!" she exclaimed excitedly. "And there's so many trees!"

She giggled and plucked a few blades of grass, the first grass she had touched that wasn't three times her height.

Ruque clung tightly to Niyana's arm as she tried to set him down. He didn't want to let go.

"Pick me up again, Mama," he begged, his brow furrowed in fear. "I don't wanna stay here!"

Celebor watched Ruque silently. It looked like he wasn't going to be trained out here ... not that that was a bad thing, he supposed. Some people weren't cut out for this kind of thing anyways, and there was no need to force it on him.

"Stay close," he called to Aras, who had begun wandering farther away.

Corrah was also there, watching from the shadows of the trees a small distance away. He wanted to observe the children for a bit, find out a bit about them, before he told the couple his decision. He had decided that he would only take those who wanted to be trained - and those who would survive his training.

Niyana nods and picks up Ruque, "Okay okay up you go....We can go soon enough I promise."

Kanis knelt down in the grass and looked over a small ant hill watching them work. She looked around and remembering a small bit of bread she broke it into pieces and scattered them around watching them gather the food.

Ruran rolls his eyes and moves from his parents side. His sisters bored him. He walked over to the shadows and sat down.

Corrah watched the group thoughtfully. The girls showed promise, but the boys ... well, the one would never do. The one that had insisted on being in his mother's arms, he could not accept that one. That one would never be able to endure the harsh training that was necessary in these mountain regions.

The others ...

Well, the second boy seemed ... strong enough ... maybe ... or rather, his attitude was strong enough. His attitude would need work though.

But yes, the girls looked promising. Energetic, curious, eager ... yes.

He slipped out from where he had been hiding and approached the group silently.

Kanis smiled watching the ants and then turned to look at her parents to tell them what she had found. But something caught her eye. Did she really see something move just now?

Niyana watched the children holding Ruque, "See it isn't so bad now is it?"

Corrah smiled to himself within the shadows of his cowl. Yes ... the blue haired girl showed much promise indeed ... already able to sense things ...

Aras was about to show something to her sister when she saw how she was looking off into the trees.

"Do you see something?" she asked curiously, peering out into the distance with her. "I don't - wait ... hey I think I saw something too!"

She turned around. "Daddy I think I see something!" she exclaimed.

Ruque's eyes grew wide at that and he curled into a ball in Niyana's arms, holding his hands over his head to protect himself. Maybe his mama thought it was safe out there, but he didn't feel safe at all!

Celebor just smiled. "What do you see?" he asked his daughters, noticing that Kanis had seen something too.

Kanis tried to figure out what it was she had seen. It was too large to be an insect or animal but too solid to be just a shadow. She didn't take her eyes off the trees though her attention was on her sister. At least she was not the only one to see it.

"I don't know...but it is big....and...graceful..." She said softly.

Niyana smiled and put a reassuring hand over Ruque, "Do not worry, mother will not let anything happen to you...nor will your father. Your safe with us Ruque."

Her children really did have a broad range of emotions...no two were really alike though the girls were at least similar to each other. She held Ruque and hummed softly to distract him from his fear.

Ruran raised a brow at his stupid sisters' comments. He really should just sneak off again but he was no where near anything worth looking at in his mind.

"Uh huh," Aras agreed, still trying to decide what it is they were seeing. "Maybe it's a deer, Daddy says deer are really big and graceful ... 'cept they're scared of people too so it probably wouldn't be around us if it didn't have to be ..."

Celebor peered through the shadows and only because he knew that Corrah was supposed to be meeting them there did he know it was him. If he hadn't known, he would have been just as lost as his daughters.

"I think he's here," he murmured, raising one eyebrow and looking over at Niyana.

Ruque closed his eyes and lay against Niyana's chest, not paying any attention to his father but only listening to his mother's song.

Corrah continued on at his slow and steady pace, until he was almost right in front of the girls - and only then did he lower his cowl and reveal his face with his piercing blue eyes and jagged scars, and the long black hair that spilled over his shoulders.

Niyana nods that she believe it was Corrah too though she did not stop her humming trying to keep Ruque calm and quiet. Though her eyes watched the figure and her daughters.

Kanis watched the black figure move towards them. She knelt down slowly and picked up a stick (what would be a twig to everyone else) and got ready to try and defend her parents though they did not seem afraid.

She almost dropped the stick though when the tall figure pulled back his cowl. She froze at the sight of the brilliant blue eyes...that stared into her. She could feel him picking apart all her flaws with just the glance he gave her before he looked at her sister.

Once his eyes were off of her she looked over his scared face and dark skin. His long prefect onyx hair complimenting his face and making it almost deadly handsome and strikingly frightening at the same time. This was quite a man...

Ruran watched the man with his sisters and wanted to laugh. Maybe his parents had gotten some brains and was selling his sisters to a slave dealer or a brothel where girls belonged.

Aras's eyes grew wide as the tall, dark man approached, but she didn't move from her spot. Fearless as ever, she just stared up at him, taking in his dark and scarred features. His eyes bore into her like a window into her soul, but she didn't even flinch.

"Whoa," she breathed, looking up at him ... but she didn't say anything else, too much in awe to speak.

Corrah looked from the girls to Ruran, frowning softly at the boy, and then he turned his attention to Ruque, cowering in his mother's arms. Finally, he folded his arms across his chest and nodded to Niyana and Celebor.

"I will take the girls," he said in a low voice, his face expressionless, "but not that one," he nodded at the boy in Niyana's arms, "and this one will need ..."

He frowned deeply and glared at Ruran, his eyes burning.

"Special work ... if anything is to be made out of him."

Celebor nodded seriously, not sure how to take Corrah's words.

"What do you think, girls?" he asked, looking down at Kanis and Aras. "Ruran? Would you like this man to become your trainer?"

Aras's eyes grew even wider, and a slow grin spread across her face. "Yes please!" she said excitedly.

Ruque was glad the man didn't want him - because he didn't want to leave the safety of his mother's arms, and he didn't want anything to do with the scary man. He peered out cautiously.

"I can stay with you, right, Mama?" he asked softly.
