"Prince, mirror move!" Luna quickly called out in response to Day's command. She knew that Prince was going to be at not only an HP disadvantage but also a type disadvantage. They had to tread carefully.
Prince's eyes briefly shined as a transparent mirror-like barrier formed infront of Cosmo's attack. The attack, however, briefly broke through and sent a tingle across Prince's body. The pidgeot for the most part was able to brush the attack aside - he still had the strength to take a few more hits.
Then, the mirror formed infront of Prince again and shot a thunderbolt attack right back at Cosmo.

Cosmo was clever enough to think fast when he noticed a clear wall start to form in front of Prince. He escaped to the closest pillar and waited for the next move.
Day decided to stick to the same routine as with Faith. "Now thundershock!" she yelled.
After waiting for the mirror to fade, Cosmo sailed through the air, producing bright jolts as he went along, aiming for Prince.

"Okay~Well, that was a bust." Luna said to herself, giving a light sheepish laugh. But they could make it up. "Close in for a mudslap!"
Prince tilted his wings and angled them to travel in a downward descent towards a pillar. Once again a small branch of thunder managed to touch him but did not significantly damage the bird pokemon. Then, Prince glided over a pillar, raking his talon across it to send dirt flying.
For a short while he followed the path of the dirt but soon flew upwards within a few feet of Cosmo in a near 90 degree angle to regain his altitude in the skies.

The lumps of burning gravel caught Cosmo on his shoulder, and he cried out in surprise and pain. It had been long since his last fight, and he had almost forgotten what a good solid attack felt like.
"You're fine," Day assured him, "just keep at it! Use thundershock again!" She crossed her fingers for a nice hit.
Cosmo looked around for his target, and found him way above. Mustering up his finest aim, he let loose another thundershock.

Sadly, Cosmo's "finest aim" wasn't very fine at all and Prince easily dodged the out of shape pokemon. Prince gave Cosmo a taunting look that said something around the lines of "Nice try little mousey" before swooping in towards a pillar behind Cosmo.
Once again he glided parallel to the pillar and used his claws to fling smoldering dirt at the pikachu.

Cosmo buried his face in his little paws for a moment, embarrassed of his sad attempt. He couldn't sulk long though, because by the time he looked up, there wasn't enough time left to dodge the next attack.
"Cosmo, don't worry, it was a good try! Try again now!"
He didn't hesitate any longer, because he would have to act fast to hit before Prince flew back up. Again, straining to see through the dirt clouding his eyes, Cosmo tried to attack with a thundershock.

Pushing fatigue to a distant corner in his mind, Prince put his whole focus on doing as much damage as possible during the next turns of the match. He was able to ignore the tingle that came from the pikachu's electric attack but thankfully Prince had suffered worse from ChuChu, Aeon, and other raichus.
Swooping in like all previous times, Prince flung even more molten rock at the pikachu.

Cosmo ducked, letting the molten rock just graze his back. The battle had wound down to a mere exchange of half-hearted attacks, which was just fine with him.
Knowing what to do without being told, Cosmo used thundershock yet again. Prince hadn't been flying back up the past few turns, and Cosmo hoped that meant it would be easier to get a nice move.

Prince's wings indeed felt heavier after so much weary battling, preventing the bird from being able to make too many movements. He had to be conservative, but the pidgeot still put his determination into every attack. His spirit was what made him strong.
So, brushing off the effects of another of Cosmo's electric attacks, the pidgeot let out a loud intimidating cry as he scrapped a mudslap attack at Cosmo once again.

If luck presented herself in Cosmo's favor, he would beat Prince with a few more bolts of electricity. He just had to keep enduring the persistent, repetitive attacks of his opponent, and his confidence had to match that of Prince's.
"You've almost got this one!" Day yelled, not even saying a command. Truthfully, she didn't care that they were losing, but she didn't want to look like a butt-head type of trainer.
Cosmo just shook away the loose dirt, and proceeded with another thundershock.
