Frowning as she looked through the classified ads she mentally checked off place after place. She wanted something not too far from the cafe and nothing outragiously priced. Fat chance at that, she knew that she could dip into the savings but mother had always been wary of that so by habit she had become the same. It looked though like she had no choice, not until she could get settled and a few paychecks under her belt.

Glancing about she noticed the ebb and flow of the customers, and how the staff seemed to make sure each were taken care of. Dealing with public was not one of her favorite jobs but she would do it. Her gaze flitted once again over the customers, briefly settling on each before slipping to the next. It was then that she noticed the 'man in black' eerie was the word for him and she was glad she had not started work today. Blinking she realised she had been staring, looking away quickly she focused back to the newspaper before her. She was not one to be rude and stare, doing so usually ended up with you getting involved in someone elses business.

Wrinkling her nose at the thought she blinked, shaking her head slightly as she looked at the newspaper. She would have to just head to the bank and withdraw the money for first, last, and deposit on a place that was advertized about 2 blocks away. Folding up the paper to some semblance of order she stood and made her way to the door, having paid for the tea and food earlier, her next stop was the nearest bank...

::Needless to say this figure of black didnt speak to anyone, he did not look at anyone, he did not acknowledge anyone. He sifted through the peoples and moved directly to a seat in the far back, and sat down.
This nameless and facely man stood quiet. And waited to be served. ::

The same waitress who had served Nixxy - her name was Kara, by the way - first noticed the new customer sitting alone and waiting. She clutched her tray like shielding her chest while glancing worried at the black clad stranger.
Lorenna, one of Kara's colleagues, walked over to her: "What's wrong, dearie?" A broad smile layed on her freckled face - which instantly faded when she followed Kara's eyes. "Oh my... sweatdrop I can do it..if you want..."

"No," Kara shook her head which made her black curls swing from one side to the other. "I'll go."
She breathed in deeply, straightened herself and forced a friendly look upon her face.

"Good afternoon, sir. Can I bring you anything?"

Enki Leviathan
*Enki walks around through the first floor of Feimurgen, looking at all of the neat stuff in the upgraded version of it's original. Before long, Enki can't help but wander up to the second floor and begins looking through all of the books*

A man with long black hair, dressed in expensive black Armani and a silk red shirt stood by the books on the top floor, immersed in the book he held in his hand.

Looking up at Enki Leviathan as he walked past him, he pulled the pipe he had been puffing on out of his mouth and spoke up quietly, as if in a library. "Looking for something specific, or just browsing?" He asked, his tone neutral in the way a well-mannered man's voice should be.

His cool grey eyes watched the Leivathan carefully, one hand holding his book open whilst the other cradled his pipe, smoke puffing up like indian smoke-signals to be eradicated by the air conditioning. He would looked like a businessman, if he wore a tie - but the way his shirt hung open at the neck screamed 'playboy', giving the ladies just a hint of the tanned, toned flesh hidden within such expensive garments.

Much like a woman's cleavage, but more manly.

*Enki glances quickly at the rather suave man, not bothering to give him as much as even a second look as he mutters*

No, I'm ok. Thank you

*Enki then continues to browse at the tomes upon the shelves. These books weren't anywhere near as old as Enki's, but many of them were still very interesting*

::For about the first 8 seconds, there was complete and total silence. No words, not movement, not even a breathe, or a twitch. Those 8 seconds probably felt like a tiny eternity. It was as if he was trying to decide what he wanted, when in all honesty, he decided way before he even entered the store, infact someone had actually decided for him. And on the dawn of the mighty 9th second, he spoke. His voice was odd to say the least, it wasnt one voice but many. Yet it wasnt loud or epic in any way, it just sounded like 3 distinct people talking at the exact same time, in perfect unison. And without any discernable emotiont what so ever.::

A caramel macchiato, and a slice...

::He didnt pause, and he didnt stop or even slow his speach, but as he spoke his head turned toward the waitress. His one visible white and somewhat glowing eye glanced at her, before glancing directly past her at Lady Lucind. He wasnt checking her out or anything like that, his eye, seemed to focus for that brief moment, on her eyes. All motions flowing seemlessly as he spoke.::

...of cherry chocolate cake.

::And then silence, his voice didnt ride on the air, it sliced through it. And when his order ended, his head slowly turned away from Lucind and back toward the wall in silence. The silence alone would let one know that his order was very much done.::

It was. For a while, the weight of knowing all that- and not knowing why I knew- threatened to destroy me entirely.

Evan sighed to himself- he had given a blatantly obvious clue, but it was inevitable that he told this part of the story. After all, the story was true. In any event, she spoke to him directly now, seeing as the story (at this point, at least) was over. She had heard enough to put it together, and he need not have told anymore.

Oh, and that other presence? He knew who it was too. He didn't say much about it at the moment, but it seemed that he was on the move again.

But then I found out who I was. Destiny, you could call it. It's been a while, but I can still remmeber it, just like everything else. I don't want to tell any more stories- perhaps it would be better not to tell any more. You've figured it out by now... but I guess I should tell you what happened before my... current state.

He pushed his shades up on his eyes and told a short story- a very short one.

What made the whole situation worse was- that whole locking myself away bit had split my mind in two. On the one half, there was HeavenSong- also known as Evan White. The other... well, he was much more serious. A veritable vault of knowledge and information, but he was a machine in exchange for that. He acted soulless, reclusive, secretive. It's not how a person should live, but it suited him.

But through a series of events- though that too is a story best told another time and at another place... I'm me again. I don't know what you're gonna call me now- but my real name is Hugin. I got my mind back- and everything that comes with it.

He smiled at this.

So trust me... I can at least make an attempt to fix your problem- of course, after your family makes their attempt. Forgive me if I wasn't being respectable just then... but what use are one's abilities if one doesn't have confidence in them?

"Oooh, now thats an new experience..." THe man whispered a little too loudly, snapping his book shut with his hand and puffing on his pipe slowly, little swirls of grey milking the air. "I've been ignored by many people and creatures..."

He turned and put the book back into it's place slowly, his finger gently following the spine down to another on the second shelf. "...But i know i've got to work on my manner when i'm brushed off by the great and almighty Leviathan..."

Odd, considering it seems to me that you make a conscious effort to be pleasing to the eye, seductive even, to some

::He didnt look, but he knew she was there. There was just a small moment of silent recognition between the two. He didnt move, but he spoke.::

Lady Lucind...

::He didnt speak but his right hand twitched on the surface of the table, all before he spoke he again.::

I have a message, from a mutual friend.

::He slowly turned to face her, his one glowing eye met hers, somewhere betwix them it gazed and glowed just slightly as he spoke, all voices as one.::

He says, "thank you"...he never stops saying thank you...

::"He". He didnt say his name, but then again, he didnt have to. She knew, after passing on his name had faded back into the shadows, but somewhere in this womans heart, she hadnt forgotten. His right hand carefully balled into a fist as he continued.::

He asked that I come here, that I make this order...

::He stood, and steadly walked to her. There was an air about him that just seemed so familiar...maybe it was the black...maybe it was that he cast no shadow. Maybe it was one of the voices with which he spoke. But as he reached her he held up his balled right fist, and gently overturned it and opened, revealing a single red ruby about the size of a quarter. And as he revealed that small prize he continued.::

And that I pay you...with this.

::This, was a ruby. A ruby that would be delivered to the hand of only one woman. But it was one ruby, meaningless, there were countless rich folk with thousands more. Right? But this was one ruby...one ruby...the same price "he" had paid the very first time he visited this shop. He had offered Lucind a bag of gems but she chose just this one.

Nostalgia, the power of memories...a powerful thing indeed. With his hand outstretched and offering the ruby, he would wait. What was painful, was that for every bit that he seemed familar, he also seemed distant. His voice was there, and he said words that should have meaning, but he was without emotion. It was cold, as cold as the gaze of his one eye.::

"Seduction is such a strong word..." He whispered again, pulling out the book he had his finger on and flipping it open, thumbing through the pages with his free hand. "Has such a long life made you paranoid, Mr. Leviathan? I hope not."

He suddenly smiled, closing the book again with a snap. "Of course, i haven't introduced myself...I am Vincent Mercy. I am new to Latent. The sea breeze is a difference to Durem's city-taste."

Her hand, shaking ever so slightly, reached out to take the ruby.
She had recognized this little gem at once. It lay on her palm, light and cold - yet the memory connected to it weighed heavy.
"..."

Lorenna had sneaked past Lucind and now stood next to Kara who had just put the dark man's order onto the table.
"Wow, they know each other,"Lorenna whispered excitedly. "That's cool, somehow...isn't it? I mean, who would have guessed we're working for someone with such friends??"
Kara however wasn't nearly impressed as her colleague. She gently poked the red haired girl in her side. "Let's get back to work, or else the other guests start to think something's wrong here..."

Lucind swallowed hard. They were still affecting her. Those images. Emotions.
Too many questions swirled in her mind.
Finally, she raised her head.

"Where is he?"

Was it the human side in her asking?
A Siren wouldn't have been touched by receiving this little piece of past events. She would've been interested, in an altruistic way, for this meeting could deliver useful information for the clan, the race.

One way or another, it was no usual business, getting messages from the dead.

Evan casually waited for Lu to come back. He had an odd feeling about the man who was upstairs- with his Colonel, no less. Of course, his ears had picked up the name Mercy... Vincent Mercy.

Unconciously, his mind remembered- a machine that picked up information and stored it like the endless void it was- never losing it. The man seemed to be... odd. Yes, there was no other word for it. Whether he continued to bother Enki or not was not his concern- the man could handle himself.

Still...

Evan didn't bother with it anymore- he had other things to worry about, such as his trip to Magpie Valley in the coming days. He had to find a way to help Lucind. If something was bothering her, what kind of man would he be if he didn't try to remedy the situation?

Besides, there were Special Forces matters to attend to. As a CO, it was his job to help his squad out.

*Enki places his finger atop the spine of one of the books and tilts it out, opening it with his other hand and browsing through it*

Paranoid, no. Cautious, yes. I've had a lot of people out to get me in the past.

*He then closes the book, turns to Vincent and bows elegantly*

As you presumedly already know, I am Enki Leviathan. I rather like this town, though I tend to keep a low profile around here

::He looked her dead in the eye, his one glowing white eye staring sharply into hers. His extended right hand slowly curled into a fist with his index finger extended. And he pointed, straight up. Never once breakng eye contact.

He took it as an obvious assumption that when he pointed straight up Lucind would understand that he did not mean the 2nd or 3rd floor of the cafe, or the roof...or even the sky...he meant someplace...higher. Someplace...holy. And gently his hand lowered. He gently gestured toward his order, which the waitress had just brought in a such a timely manner, and again he spoke.::

I will bring this to him, with your regards.

::He turned, and started off toward the table, neatly gathering the cake and coffee together into a small black box. With his back facing outwards it was hard to tell where the box came from, but there it was. And when it was done, he made off towards the doors stopping just before them and turning back. He didnt speak loudly, but something about his voice made sure that it was heard by those who needed to hear it.::

Thank you for remembering...the greatest fear of those who have passed, is being forgotten...

::And he was off, with a gentle push of the door he was out, and quickly he was lost in the Latent crowed without leaving even as much as his name.::

There she stood, on the verge of crying, staring at the empty table.

Only when the stranger had stepped through the door it had occured to her that she actually wanted to ask a lot of things. Who was he? And what kind of heaven was it that allowed this man to keep contact to the dead friend? Or did he speek in rhetorical terms?

While walking up the stairs, Lucind calmed down and regained control over her feeling.
Still she couldn't and didn't really want to hide her confusion. She rubbed her temples and took a seat opposite of Evan.
