When Medb pulled the chain, Lassan vanished once more, and re-appeared. It was taxing on him, but not impossible. There was a secret Lassan had, one he would not tell anyone, anyone except the emperor.

He hurridly drew his blade, and made himself at the ready, leg stinging despite the armor.

Shay dismounted, examining the best places from afar, In which to linger undetected and unseen. She latched her horse’s reins onto a tree and began swiftly and very delicately. Roaming around the mossy and crumbled down ruins of L’enlor Imaral. She began noticing very clever and thoroughly covered tracks. Yet even the smallest of pebbles out of place, rang out to her that someone passed through. She crouched down and examined the flooring and noticed the same foot prints from before. A smirk flashed upon her face as she silently whispered, "Gotcha."

When she came to the clearing she noticed a grand battle scene. Vast armies of both human's and demon's merged together with fresh tainted, and untainted blood that was now, smeared across the faded ruins. "At least now, there's some color." She casually thought.

Bodies lay here and there and you could hear the screams and clanging of weaponry crashing together. The scene was rather impressive, and it sent an urge to join in and kill as many as she could too. But she held back that urge, and very casually eyed the countryside in the cover of shadows, all the while looking for her mark. She immediately sensed the presence of several Demons near by, and casually unsheathed a sword, and dagger in the ready. Staying in high alert, she gazed around for David, yet didn't see him. "Now, where the hell-- did you run off to...?" She casually thought.

((I hope you feel better, and it's totally ok about the late replies. ^_^ ))

David took a step of his horse and latched his own horse onto Shays horse. Then he jumped up in a tree with the agility of a cat or monkey. He moved across the branches and followed Shay from above. He took a jump and landed on a level above Shay and as Shay started to move around so did David even if he sometimes had to guess where Shay would move. Yet as she notice the girl look more back then around her he knew who she was looking for. He found a hole in floor which he would be able lock his fete in as his upper body would be upside down directly above Shay. "Have you ever thought of looking up dear?" With that he release he feet and dropped to the ground in front of Shay.

((Yes I am, thank you very much.))

Medb smiled as the human disappeared and reappeared before her, though she'd seen every bit of it and could have pursued him had she not been more than toying with him. However, she was just doing this for fun since she had nothing to do with the current battle that was being initiated. Tactics-wise, she thought it was absolutely sloppy and a sloppy battle was something that the rest of the council could deal with. She'd lend her aid when they decided to wake up and smell the brimstone, realizing that she'd been correct to say that such a massive battle was going to inflict major casaulties upon both sides of the board when they could have just resorted to stealth. Not to mention the armies had met head on, no ambush, no anything so there was no favour in the battle at all, it could easily swing either way.

She stood there watching him as he drew his blade and remained in place to wait for him to do something with it. A blade wasn't that big of a concern to her, she could use her nimbleness to dodge it or she could counter by pulling out her scythe. It all depended on what she felt like more or less, though she knew that letting her guard down would be the most foolish mistake she could execute so she observed from afar and waited for Lassan to make the mistake instead. Little bloke seemed to always be getting himself hurt anyhow so she just waited where she was.

Shay heard branches creaking, leaves rustling and felt eyes upon her. Ever so watchful, upon her. Shay looked around once more with her weapons in the ready, figuring it would either be a frontal or backwards attack. She never would have guessed it would have came from above. Then again, it really wasn’t an attack, but still.
As David’s face popped in front of her, Shay almost thrusted and slashed at him. She should have just for startling her, but she held back clenching even tighter around her dagger.

Shay looked frustrated and very irritable with David. She wanted to kill him, well make him suffer a bit at least. As he flipped in the air landing directly in front of her, she instantly whacked him with the flat side of her sword. “Have you ever, heard of-- giving me a heads up. Jesus Christ!” Shay didn’t mean to take her aggressions out on David, even if they were kindly, so to say. She was more enraged with herself than anything. Not only had he snuck up on her, but he was watching her as well. An old saying popped into her head-- ‘Fool me once, shame on you… fool me twice, shame on me.’ Shay kept her features calm and unaffected, but underneath she was mad as a hornet. Shay sheathed her weapons and walked ahead.

She motioned for him to follow, and she only hoped they took to the shadows unnoticed. Hoping she’d find this mysterious figure with the rather fine stitch, in his shoe and his group.

(( ^_^ You welcome, and I'm glad your better!))

Lassan smiled as the demon watched him. He took out one of his few remaining vials and broke it on his blade. The contents of the vial hissed when they hit the blade, and he grinned. "You know what this is? Of course you do demon, you know exactly what it is.

Lassan knew she had absolutely no idea what it was he had just splashed on his blade, but it was a little trick he had found worked particularily good against the demons he had killed. It was a concoction of his own, he had discovered that human and demon blood did not react well together, which was why all half-breeds died. All except one he had found. One he had found and studied to find out why, and he had found the answer. There was something in the blood, and he had extracted it, and it was now on his sword. A touch of the liquid splashing on a demon would do nothing, but once it entered the bloodstream, it would cause death in a matter of minutes.

David smiled under the cloak as the sword hit his cheek. He might have deserved that for the sneaking part after all he had not told Shay which route he was going for. "Next time Shay, Next time you'll know!" David whispered softly into the air as he followed Shay towards their new route. He let a finger follow the end of arrow the smoothness of the feather calmed him in these times. He knew it would fly without a sound and that's was how he liked it.

Shay almost thought she saw a smile on David's face. But she through out that notion, and continued walking ahead until he spoke. Shay stopped in her tracks and looked back at him as if to warn him of how far, he was into unmarked territory with her. Dangerous, territory too. She didn't say anything but there was a look of understanding, and a defiant look in her eyes. Shay so wanted to say something smart to him, but she held back and turned back around. Once she did, she almost missed the disturbed dirt and rocks. She crouched down and saw the same stitch. Someone definitely passed by, and that particular one is her man. A grin flew upon her face as she continued further into the ruins.

((You know it was your butt cheek, right...? Just making sure you know it was that, and not your actually cheek, lol.))

((Yes I did get that, I just missed the word butt wink ))

The look Shay had given David after that he had spoken was a mixture of a look. As a cat warning but still accepts ones presence it could be. At this point he really did not feel bad about this meeting with Shay. The best thing with her was that she knew what she was doing and because of that he doubted that if they would ever tell stories she would brag as those drunken soldiers always did. Some stories one grew quickly tired of and that he hated. People using words in waste of nothing and will gain nothing because from nothing, nothing can be built. He looked down on the tracks on the ground and found the resemblance of the footstep. Most likely the one he and Shay where hunting. Not to mention the fact that they where getting closer to what ever they would find.

((lol, nice smile ))

Shay looked over at David and wondered what was up with the weird expression on his face. He had a demeanor that was stricken, and seemed as if he was pondering on an ill topic. “So who are you thinking about with that ill-natured expression?” she said lightly, wonding if it was her he was thinking about. Yet she scoffed at herself for thinking that, they barely knew each other. So why would he be judging her so harshly.

Shay moved swiftly, coving her tracks and wondered if taking on David as her-- associate or partner, was either a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, she knew her back was covered and that was good enough for her. Even if she rather liked it on the lone side of things. She ending all thoughts of David and kept on target. She immediately sensed a demon close by her, but none were in site. Shay had an odd look on her face as she stood there thinking. The foot prints stopped right here, yet no one was in sight. “What the hell is going on?” She thought.

David should have known that digging in his mind would make Shay react upon it. They where both trained to follow marks and traces unseen for an normal eye. "I'm just enjoying this company more then the last I had. A couple of soldier that could never stop telling fake stories!"

David moved next to Shay and as the traces became fresher he took of all security holders for his bow so that he could take it out in a matter of a second. David got deeper into the hunt yet he hoped that this area would become wide enough for them to see this demon and shoot before they where next to it. Not that David was a fool with a sword but he was far deadlier with the bow.

((What...? Hokaru blew himself up? Last I read he put poison on his blade and was fitghing Simi-chan in the demon plains. Well you know what I mean. But yeah, we're right there.))

Shay looked at David with a raised brow, as if to question him and his motives. But she didn't. "Ahh, I see. I never had the pleasure of that, type of company. Yet I always gazed about the fools in a local Inn and merely scoffed at their stupidity, in telling their stories wrong." Shay casually said, unsheathing her sword and dagger in defense. She felt something coming and if so. She wanted to face it head on in the ready. David had his bow, and she knew he was deadly with it as much as she was. So she'd have to give him time to reload, and that's were she came in on hand to hand combat.

As she awaited her guests, Shay's mind skimmed over and contemplated on the one she was hunting and his group. She wondered if they were still alive, and breathing. Yet she quickly shoved that aside and opened up her senses, in hopes to single out their uninvited guests before they could hit them, with a surprise attack.

David smirked a bit at Shay mention the inn. True that the inn could keep a severe amount of bad stories. Yet David notice Shay look around and he could almost laugh at himself for not to notice the tracks where missing but so was much more. It could look just like a ruin but there had been an explosion not long ago and also there was people close. Really close now. He lowered his voice and kept it smooth for this was no real tome for shouting out plans. "Shay, there has been an explosion here but the main thing is that just around the next bend, there is at least two people. Let us make the turn safe and silent. I hate to walk up to a blade more rather a back as I know you know!" Then David took out one of his arrow and placed it upon the bow and was ready to find out what people where ahead of him. He felt a tension in the air and then there was the calm from Shay and him. Things where going on and they where coming into it from the shadows.

Shay noticed David was anxious to face the demon's from just around the bend. He didn't know they were-- well one of them at least was a demon... but he didn't know that, like she did. But would he believe her if she told him they were... that was the real question. As Shay went through a logical way to say it, she noticed David place a arrow upon his string and go forth. Shay quickly touched his arm and whispered in his ear, “One of them is a demon... so be careful.” With that said she gripped her dagger and sword tighter and moved through the ruins in the unseen shadows, making her way ever so closer to them.
