Before Jace could toss the younger boy out of the window, her mother said levelly: "You absolutely deserved that, and you know it, too. If you can't be mature, you go back to the gym until I'm done here, and leave Merroth alone."
Her eldest daughter blew a raspberry in Merroth's direction. "See you, spore," she said, and she opened the door and breezed out again with the usual Jace swagger, not that aggrieved about the whole thing. Beatrix sighed.

Merroth took the opportunity to grab hold of the chair's arm and use it like a railing, waving his fist in the air after Jace. "Run, you coward!" he cried, a saying typical of Nerys, pure glee in his voice.
