"Can I get a plain old cow burger while you're at it?" Jace asked Rebecca, stretching out one leg and holding it behind her back as she balanced. Obviously Jamie had not been introduced to the delights of eating small and adorable animals. This needed to be rectified.

Nataya nodded, then looked at the table. Hmm....it was so high up. Still, she was going to try and do this on her own because she was a big girl. She stood on her tip-toes, reaching as far as her little arm could reach. Nothing; her arm wasn't long enough. She frowned at the table, silently wondering why it had to be so high up. She then looked up at Jace; when in doubt, ask someone older. "Jace, can you get Nat-yah bun?" she asked, smiling slightly.

"Sure," Becca nodded, putting a burger on the grill as she flipped over the hotdog. The smell of the cooking meat was starting to waft through the air. It wasn't a bad scent, she concluded as she watched the mean darken. She had nothing against cooked meat, despite popular belief.
"I'll get you one," Jamie offered with a smile, momentarily pulling himself away from his musings. He reached up and got a bun, putting it on a paper plate before handing it to Nataya.

Nataya turned her attention from Jace to the Jamie, smiling up at him as she took the plate. "Fank you, sir!" she said, holding the paper plate with both hands.

"Rad," said Jace, and she got her own bun and her own plate; without preamble, she lifted up Nataya who was still clutching her plate, so that the little girl could watch the hot dog and the burger sizzle on the grill. It didn't count as kindness if you were just lifting up the little pip to see stuff cook, right? Right. She was still hardcore. "Make mine rare, please, I'm a carnivore."
