Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up?
(For foal #2 - named Nissa) Kaley is the other foal.
Nissa and Kaley had wandered to the field near their home, away from their parents, to discuss what they were going to do about their mother. They had both decided that she wasn't acting as cheerful as she normally did, so they wanted to put her in a better mood.
"So... what do you want to do Kaley?" Nissa asked her sister. "Mom hasn't been playing with us at all today, and she keeps sighing."
Kaley tilted her head to the side, thinking. Her mother had been acting a little strangely today. "Well, what does mom like?" Kaley questioned.
Nissa thought about all the times she had seen her mother beaming. "Let's see..." she said, licking her nose in concentration. "Whenever dad brings home those golden apples, she gets really happy!"
Kaley's eyes lit up and she said, "Oh yeah! But where does he get the apples?"
This would be the hard part. Nissa had gone with her father to get the apples before, but he had told her not to go past this field without him or his mother. She had no problems in leaving the small field, she had done it a few times before. "They're across the river on the other side of the field, in the forest..." She looked at her sister, waiting for the disapproval. Normally her sister was a little goody-two-shoes who would never do anything to make mom or dad angry.
Kaley opened her mouth to protest, but then shut it again, thinking. Their father wasn't around today, so he couldn't take them to go get the apples. But she really wanted to cheer up mom. She glared at her sister, and said, "Just this once I'll go. But only because I want to cheer up mom."
Nissa whinnied in excitement and said "Okay, let's go! I'll race you!" She took of in a run, towards the forest across the stream. She looked back to see that Kaley was following, and grinned back at her sister. "Hurry up!" She called back. She charged ahead, and splashed right into the stream, creating little splashes of water as she galloped across. When she reached the other bank, she stopped to catch her breath and wait for her sister, who was just entering the stream.
"Wait up!" Kaley called, picking her way through the stream carefully. "You're so reckless Nissa! You could have gotten hurt going across that fast."
Nissa just laughed and blew a raspberry at Kaley. "Let's go! The apples aren't far from here." When she saw that her sister was safely on the bank, she trotted towards the woods. The trees the apples grew on weren't too far from here, so it shouldn't take them long to get them back to their mother.
When they reached the copse, Nissa was happy to see how many ripe apples had fallen to the ground. She picked one up delicately in her mouth, and looked for her next target. Uh oh... she thought. How are we going to get all these apples back to mom? She dropped the apple back onto the ground. "Kaley, how are we going to get apples back to mom? We have nothing to carry them in." She frowned, thinking that their idea might have failed.
"Well that's easy." Kaley said, grinning in a know-it-all fashion. She glanced around to find the right tools. She spotted some bark from a dead tree that would be perfect. It had 2 thinner edges they could hold in their mouths, and it looked almost like a basket. She placed one end of it in her teeth and dragged it over to her sister. "We'll use this!"
Nissa grinned at her sister, glad that she was a good thinker. "Wow Kal, that's really cool!" She started piling apples onto the makeshift litter, and when it was full, they both took an end and slowly started making their way back home.
Nissa knew that her mother would be really happy when she got the apples, and even more happy that her two foals had worked together. Even if they got into a little trouble for disobeying their parents, the punishment would be worth the smile on their mother's face.

One of your daughters questions you as to why she hadn't been born with wings like you. What do you tell her? How do you explain about the breed differences in Soquili, and why she doesn't have a set of wings herself? Quick note: Mommy= Tutela Daddy= Inchiostro Bluer Daughter = Oiseau Blacker Daughter = Fiute Tutela sighed innerly as her daughter's bright eyes held onto hers. She had been dreading this day, as she knew there were many more to dread. This would be difficult to explain, but she could only hope to satisfy a thirst for Fiute's knowledge in the meantime. But how to put in to words the difference between a regular soquili and a wind soquili? Should she revert to tradition? Or aim for a more biological explanation? Tutela's eyebrows furrowed in anxiety and she looked to their father, Inchiostro. He was walking in the opposite direction, as though he too had heard the question and lacked an answer. He would regret that upon his return, but in the meantime, his departure seemed to prompt the arrival of Oiseau. Now Tutela's two daughters were eager to hear their mother's response, and reflected in their eyes was the hope of a great and epic tale that would justify their being grounded to the earth. "Mommy, why come Oiseau and I don't have wings?" Fiute's head tilted as she had to repeat her question, eyebrows in a mirroring furrow. "Yeah, Mommy! Daddy doesn't have any!" Oiseau chimed in with her childish voice and her tail swished as though her absence of speech was as irritating to her as a fly bite. "Well..." Tutela began, drawing it out to bide her time. "Oiseau.....Fiute....The reason your mommy has wings and you and Daddy don't is simple." Now was the crunch time to come up with something. But something suddenly struck her, like lightning on a lone tree in a great plain, but it was as gentle as a feather on the breeze. Tutela smiled at her antsy and stomping daughters gently, and her eyes softened. "My little loves, it really is simple. I need these wings so I may always protect you and guide you when you go astray into danger." She leaned her elegant neck over her fillies and nuzzled them gently as they digested her words. Fiute nodded slowly under her mother's caress, "I get it, Mommy!" Oiseau paused, however. "But....Does that mean that if we turn into mommies.....We get wings too?" Her eyes were bright and hopeful. Tutela shook her head slowly. "You'll be good enough when the day comes that you will not need them as I have." She smiled and sighed relief as she cleared this first trial of motherhood.

Father Prompt Wrote:
You've been very blessed throughout your life, especially in regards to your family, which consists of a loving mate and two beautiful daughters.
Your mate is currently feeling under the weather, so you've taken on the responsibility of looking after your two daughters. Where do you take them? What do you talk to them about? Do you try to teach them a life lesson, or do you play around?
The sun was just rising, painting the sky a myriad of colours. Aurum enjoyed these peaceful moments, being able to watch his family as they slept soundly to when they woke for the day. Gazing fondly at his mate, the love of his life, and two lovely fillies, he couldn’t believe how blessed he was.
Katila opened her eyes slowly, stretching her wings out carefully as she woke. Aurum was over at her side in an instant, nuzzling his mate, showing her just how much he loved her. She couldn’t help but smile. Though both he and their daughters were regular soq’s, she couldn’t imagine living her life with anyone else. Her mate was the kindest, most gentle and considerate stallion she ever met, and their daughters-while rambunctious and little hellions at times- were the best thing to ever happen to her. A sudden harsh cough from her startled them both. At once Aurum began fussing over her. It was just a little cough, but she really had been feeling under the weather lately, so maybe just this once she would accept and indulge herself with his fussing.
“ Love, why didn’t you tell me you’re sick? You need to rest. I know, I’ll take the girls out today, you just stay and rest.” He hated thinking that Katila was sick and she wasn’t taking care of herself—for how else could she have gotten sick- so he would do the only thing he knew that his stubborn mate would allow. Besides, he needed to spend some time with his daughters anyway, this was as good a time as any, and it would keep him from smothering his mate with care and concern she would not like.
Muttering something under his breath about stubborn, pigheaded mares who were too much so for their own good and the good of those around them, he walked to the sleeping forms of his two pride and joys. “Lumina, Korein, the sun is up. It is time to greet the day.”
Two sets of eyes framed with long eyelashes like his, one purple and the other red, blinked as they came awake. They craned their necks to look at the sky behind their father in disbelief. There was no way it was already morning, they had only just fallen asleep. When they were greeted with the sight of pastels fading into the blue of a summer clear sky, they whined. “ Daddy, we’re tired. Just a little longer, please?”
Looking down at the pleading eyes of his darlings, he almost agreed, but he remembered his mate was ill. “Well, I was going to take you to the orchard along the river, but if you want to sleep, I guess I’ll just go by myself.”
Almost before he was finished, the fillies were up, “We’re up, we’re up. So come on let’s go.”
Like his mate, the fillies had major sweet-teeth, so this outing would be good for all of them. The girls could get some apples, and he could get some to bring back to Katila. The girls would be more than glad to help, he knew.
“We’ll likely be gone most of the morning, Love. Get some rest.” He nuzzled her again and got ready to leave.
“Bye mommy. We’ll be sure to bring you back the best apples, ‘kay?”
“ ‘Bye, mom.”
“Now girls, you behave for dad. Don’t stray too far. Don’t…”
“It’ll be fine Love. The girls will behave, and we’ll be back unharmed bearing gifts. Don’t worry. Just take care of yourself, OK?”
Most of the walk to the orchard was in silence, with the girls trotting off this way and that, trying to see everything. Lumina, the youngest of the two and far more shy than her sister, came over. “What’s with mom? Why didn’t she come with us today?”
“Well, you see, Mommy isn’t feeling all that good and she wanted to sleep. But she really really wanted to come and get some apples too. So I thought that since you guys knew how to find good apples, you could have some for yourselves and we could each find a good one to bring back to mom. Besides, I wanted to spend some time with my two girls.”
“Daddy come quick, look .” Korein’s voice broke the connection between him and Lumina.
At the shout, his first instinct was danger- must protect young,, so he bolted to where her voice came from, preparing to rear and strike out at whatever was the threat. Reaching her, there was nothing nearby, no danger, so he tilted his head confused until he saw his daughter looking to the sky. A wind Soq was dancing in the sky, and she was almost spellbound.
“He has wings like mom. Can mom do that? Why don’t we have wings? Will we get some eventually?”
Each question was like an arrow to his heart, the sheer yearning her voice conveyed, she would be crushed. “We still need to get to the orchard, doves. So I tell you what, we hurry up and get the trip to the orchard over with, and we’ll have mom tell you the story of soq’s like her, ‘kay?”
He was too much of a coward to tell them now that they were just like him, normal, that they would never have wings and be able to dance like the soq they had just seen. He knew it was unfair to Katila while she was ill to have to explain what would break all of their hearts. He could only keep his girls busy and hope they would forget the questions for a little while longer, so they could still dream before reality came crashing down upon them. He really wasn’t looking forward to picking up the pieces and putting them back together again. He may have been blessed in his family, having a loving mate he adored with all his heart, and the two most lovely fillies anyone could ask for, but why did it seem sometimes that it was a curse?

Mother Prompt
Both of your beautiful offspring have taken after their father, genetically. Neither possess wings, leaving you to be the only one in the family capable of flying.
One of your daughters questions you as to why she hadn't been born with wings like you. What do you tell her? How do you explain about the breed differences in Soquili, and why she doesn't have a set of wings herself?
You are allowed to godmod the foals in this roleplay response ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Scuffling noises penetrated the quiet of the forest. Amidst the trees, two fillies were arguing. It was over something trivial, something small...so small that later, after things had quieted down, they probably wouldn't even remember why they were fighting.
"No! It was mine, and you took it!" The first filly accused, shaking her mane out angrily.
"It was a flower! How did it belong to you?" The second filly frowned at her sister, glaring at her unhappily.
Her sister frowned as well, her eyebrows drawing together. "I wish I could fly like Mama. Then I'd fly away, and leave you forever!"
A soft voice spoke up from the shadows. "Then I suppose it's a good thing that you can't. I'd miss you too much if you left." Their mother emerged from beneath the shade of a tree, where she had been watching the two. A gentle smile on her face, she nuzzled them both, tickling their chins with her wing tips.
"Mama!" chorused the two foals, both of them lavishing their mother with affection.
"Where have you two been?" asked their mother. "You were supposed to be back home half an hour ago. I was beginning to think that something had happened to you."
"Mama, sissy ate my flower!" The first foal whined.
"I didn't know it was 'her' flower...I didn't know I wasn't s'posed to eat it!" The second foal countered angrily.
"I've been growing that flower for weeks!" The first filly cried.
"There, there..." Their mother said comfortingly. "She didn't mean to eat your flower. Next time, you should grow one together. That way, both of you will know not to eat it."
Both of the foals nodded in agreement. It seemed fair, and it could be fun, too.
But then, the second filly turned to the first, tears in her eyes. "Did you really mean what you said? About flying away and leaving me forever??"
Bashfully, the first filly admitted, "No. I was just mad..."
The second filly sniffed, and nuzzled her sister, a sad smile on her face.
The first filly's ears suddenly pricked up. "Hey, Mama? Why don't I have wings like you?"
The second foal perked up as well. "I don't either! Why don't we have wings?" Suddenly her eyes widened. "OH! What if they're invisible!" She began checking her back, squinting at it in an attempt to see her "wings."
Disconcerted, their mother shuffled her feet before responding. "Well, sweethearts, you both take after your father. He doesn't have wings either."
"That's not fair...I wanna fly too!" the second foal said unhappily.
"But you do! Why do you have wings?" the first foal asked curiously.
"Well, I was born with them. Both of my parents had them. And no, it's not fair. It would be nice if you both could fly with me. But you're perfect, exactly how you are. I wouldn't have you any other way." She smiled warmly at her daughters.
"So...you wouldn't love us any more if we had wings, like you?" the second filly asked uncertainly.
"No, of course not. I wouldn't change anything about either of you." She nuzzled her babies again, feeling lucky just to have them. Although she had dreamed of them flying in the sky alongside her, she knew that those were only dreams. Reality was much better. Yes, the reality of her children's love was far more pleasant than her scattered, half-formed dreams. She couldn't be happier.

Filly Number One! Prompt: Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up? Filly ones name will be Treya and Filly Two will be referred to as Mary.
It was an ideal spring day. It was bright outside, but there were still clouds threatening on the outskirts of the sky, waiting to invade and make it rain. This little filly did not particularly like the rain. But neither did her mother, seeing as it had rained earlier this week and she still wasn’t feeling to well. Did normal sicknesses last this long? Treya didn’t think so. Maybe she was feeling better now? Purple eyes moved over to her mother who was lying down and looking weary. The little foal felt sadness creep into her heart. That would be a negative on her feeling better. Her father was standing next to her, and also looked depressed at her mothers condition. The navy colored foal then gave her eyes another push into the direction of her sister and found that she too was also looking at their mother.
Her head titled to the side in thought and she started making her way over to her sister. Maybe…Maybe they could get something for their mother, and then maybe she might start to feel better! Brilliant! If Treya could, she would have patted her own back. A smile crept onto her face as she came to a stop a mere few inches away from her sister. Mary looked away from their mother to look at her, a question appearing in her eyes. Treya moved in close and whispered discreetly, “I have an idea to make mom feel better!” The last part was a bit louder than a whisper, but their father and mother didn’t hear them.
She could see Mary’s doubt, and was that a little interest, in her eyes. She continued her whispers, getting even more excited, “We can get her some flowers, or maybe even some berries, or maybe even some of those grasses that mom likes the best! Maybe she will be so happy that the sickness will run away from her!” She was practically jumping with excitement, her dark blue tail flicking back and forth, and in doing so, hitting the backs of her legs.
Mary’s bright red eyes had been ignited by a small fire as Treya’s ideas took root in her head and she nodded her acceptance. “Fine, but we have to hurry okay. That means that we are not going to stare at the pretty butterflies, or chasing squirrels.” She said with accusation in her tone. Treya wanted to snicker, but she held her composure. “I won’t, promise!” She put her gaze onto her parents once more, “Let’s go now, so that we can get back before dark.” She was sure that her father wouldn’t mind, so she turned quickly and left the small clearing her family was in, and went off into the wilderness, with Mary following quietly.
They came upon a field first with many colored flowers, their sweet scents floating up into their nostrils. Treya took a deep breath and then let it out slowly and letting her eyes go half lidded. She turned to her sister to see her in the same predicament. “These will do, don’t you think?” Without waiting for a response she ran into the field and found a patch of white and blue flowers, the same colors as her mother’s coat. They were perfect! She dug her nose into them, took a quick sniff, and then ripped a couple out of them from the ground. Miraculously, only a few of the roots were still attached and not all dirty. Mary came running up to her and angrily stated, “Why do you get to carry the flowers?” Treya shrugged and smiled in her mind. There was no way she was going to carry a mouth full of grass.
They both left the field and within a few minutes found the same grassland that their mother always traveled to. Mary glared once more at Treya then bent down, putting as much grass as she could into her mouth. She turned to fast in the opposite direction for Treya to see what she looked like, but sooner or later she would see. They slowly began trotting back to the clearing in which their parents probably still lay, treats and treasures for their mother securely in both mouths.
It turns out that it had been a couple hours since they had trekked into the unknown that was the world. Treya finally had the chance and looked over to her sister, stopping in her tracks and trying not to laugh. It looked like she was stuffed with grass and her cheeks were puffed out. Mary looked over and glared, knowing what Treya had been thinking, lifted her head in a snooty manner, and they began walking again.
They finally came upon the clearing to see that their parents had not moved and they both raced over to their mother, dropping their gifts next to her.
“Momma, look at what we brought you!” Treya said with a huge grin on her face.
“We hope you like it.” Mary said after she had spit the grass out of her mouth, small smile on her face as well and some grass still hanging on to her mouth.
Their mother serenely smiled at both of the fillies, “Thank you both, I feel better already.” She answered. She bent her head and ate some of the grass and chewed slowly. “It’s delicious. Thank you both.” Both of the foals beamed at each other then bent their necks to nuzzle their mother on both sides. “We love you mother!” They both said in unison.
“I love you two as well.” Their mother answered and nuzzled back. And so, the day had turned into an adventure plus the filly’s mother was much better the next day. Mission accomplished!

Filly #1 Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up? You are allowed to godmod the sibling foal and the mother in this roleplay Alexandra the young filly with blue markings peaked her head in to check in after her sister and mother. Her mother wasn't feeling well so her sister, Cassandra, was sitting in with her. "Momma?" she called out, it was a little muffled since she had something in her mouth. The bright sun trickling in as Morrean woke to the sound of her two daughters. They were very much like their father, they couldn't fly however they were her pride and joy. She saw Cassandra sitting near her and caught a glimps of Alexandra, "Alex? Cassie? What is it?" Cassie, who was a bit more timid and shy then her sister Alexandra smiled happily at her mother before turning to her sister. Alexandra rushed in and placed the slightly chewed up flowers on the floor near her mother. She had really tried to bring her nice pretty flowers thinking they would make her feel better but they didn't seem to want to come with her when she tried to pick them. "I...I thought that I could bring you some flowers...maybe you would like them...but they..." She was trying not to cry, it seemed that perhaps her idea was foolish and wouldn't really help her mother at all.Cassie frowned slightly, she really thought that the plan to bring their mother flowers would be a great idea since mother always loved the scent of flowers and the look of them, in fact she always came down just so that she could see them when she took to the skies.Morrean could see the look on her daughters faces, they had tried so hard to make her feel better, and in reality they had. She awoke to her daughters and a slightly chuckle the flowers did look very pitiful however, she knew that they had tried very hard to bring them back in tact. Smiling softly she lifted her wing and rested it gently down across her daughters backs, "My dears, you are the only things I need to make me feel brand new."

Your mate is currently feeling under the weather, so you've taken on the responsibility of looking after your two daughters. Where do you take them? What do you talk to them about? Do you try to teach them a life lesson, or do you play around? Using same names. :U Inchiostro looked from his weary mate resting under the protective and embracing arms of a willow to his restless fillies. Whereas Tuetla was disinterested in food or activity, Oiseau and Fiute were thirsting and starving for it. Oiseau was turning a muddied brown in the dirt she had found, and Fiute was nosing through all sorts of inedible and dangerous plants. "FIUTE! OISEAU!" The first thought in Inchiostro's mind was how impractical their names were in situations such as this. Why hadn't they gone with "Black" and "Blue"? Or even "One" and "Two". He frowned in his thoughts as his daughters looked up at him, now believing he could provide some entertainment or nourishment. They came loping over to him, not bothering to stop in time and running into his thick chest, one half no doubt turning a blue or purple underneath from bruising, and the other half dusty and dirty on top. "Giiirrrrls...." Coming from his mouth, it was more of a growl and less of a word, and the fillies looked at him wide eyed. "Daaaaaddddddeeeeeee" They said together, mocking him. Inchiostro was flustered, how on earth did Tuetla take care of them both at the same time? He looked to her for moral support or advice, but she was dozing listlessly, wings twitching from time to time. At least they were flightless, to his advantage. "I've got an idea!" he suddenly perked up. He wouldn't need Tuetla's help or have to bother her today! Instead, he would devote the girls' boundless energy to pampering their mother. "Lets play a game!" He said, grinning slyly at his daughters and his own cleverness. "Daddy's finally wizened up, eh?" Oiseau grinned at her sister and threw her head playfully, forelock landing across her eye. Fiute laughed, nodding "Yeah! He still needs to feed us though! That's the first thing Mommy does!" She said, looking at her blustering father out of one eye, and her sister the other. "Well that's where the game begins! Its a bit of a scavenger hunt, and the one who does it the best, not fastest, wins." He said, trying to gain control of the situation again. "Here's how it will be played....." Laying down the basic rules and conditions, and giving them a rear signaling 'go', Inchiostro stood by as his daughters raced about, looking for harmless food to eat for breakfast, to pointless energy burning activities, to flowers they would soon strew about their mother. By sunset, the base of the willow with the resting Tuetela was sweetly perfumed, and warm with the breath of mother and children. Simply watching the events, and lending a helping hoof at times of trouble, Inchiostro too, was exhausted. He tried to lightly step over to his mate, and he took the resting place on her unoccupied side, to lie down and rest with her. It was to his surprise, as well, when a wing unfolded to cover his back, and she looked at him with a sleepy eye. "Thank you." It was all she said, and all that needed to be exchanged between these two lovers, and with a smile, the family's day concluded.

How do you explain about the breed differences in Soquili, and why she doesn't have a set of wings herself? She smiled softly as she watched her two daughters play; running back and forth throughout the small meadow that they'd made their home. It was sheltered enough that the girls would be safe yet the sky above was open so that she could still stretch her wings... Tempting as it was at the moment, she remained where she was, feathers rustling in the soft breeze.
It was the younger of the two who came to her, trotting up to stare with large eyes at her mother, posing a question that she had been waiting for... Momma... Why don't we have wings like your wings?
"Well, my darling..." She smiled, tilting her head so that she could see the little one watching her, extending her wing to brush the tips of fluffy, white feathers along the curve of the filly's face. "There are many different Soquili in the world... Some with wings, such as mine that help them soar through the sky... And others with horns that glow with a healing light. And then... There are beautiful little gems like you, your sister and your father."
Her smile broadened as she watched her daughter's eyes dance. "Those without wings and horns were made for racing the wind in different ways. The ground is yours to race along... From coast to coat, across the plains and through the trees." She leaned down, touching her nose to her daughter's neck, giving her a gentle nuzzle. "Both you and your sister were born as you were so that you could race the wind alongside your father, to bring light to his life and a smile to my face... Now... Go run along; play with your sister."

Moonflights' heart weighed down suddenly. Looking into the eyes of her beautiful foal (who mostly resembled her father) she was lost. She couldn't answer. Moon' looked back at her wings, then back to the foal and again sighed. "Wings are nothing to worry about" She smiled, the tone of her voice welcoming both sorrow and happiness from the foal.
Moon' continued to talk, "The reason you haven't gotten wings is because you weren't meant to have them." The foal tilted its head in confusion. The mare begun to struggle with words, she felt her throat begin to swell and choke on them. "uhh.." She muttered. She didn't want to say that, but it was all she could.
The foal begun to look uneasy and upset, Moon' shook her head. "Your father doesn't have wings, which means he can run and be free on the earth, journey where I cannot. I may have the skies, but it's dull up there." She began to joke around, the foal looking slightly interested now. "Who wants to fly around and a blue and white space all day? Hm." Moon poked her tongue out and giggled with her child.
"Don't worry yourself my child." She licked the foals cheek to replace a kiss. "I love you just the way you are. And it's important that you love how you are as well. You look all the prettier without wings." Moon' smiled again watching the foal run off, satisfied with the confusing answer she had gotten.
But Moon's heart was still heavy. She knew the foal would ask again. Hopefully when she's older (and can understand genetics).

"Is mum sick?" The little voice by his hooves piped up as one of his daughters decided to forgo playing in the river for bothering her papa.
"She's tired." He nodded as he looked down at the filly. "Too much running around after you two." He grinned as he leaned down and nosed his daughter's shoulder gently. "Thought it would be nice for the three of us to do some bonding. Little father daughter time." His mate needed a break from the little ones so he thought he could spend a bit of time with them and teach them some things only a father could. Which so far consisted of lessons on how to make your papa do what you want, how to make papa embarss himself falling into a river, and how to ask papa a million questions that didn't have any real answers.
His daughter grinned at him and he knew he was about to get it again. "She's not gonna turn into a zombie is she, huh huh?"
"A what? How did you hear about zombies?" His nose scrunched slightly. He knew -he- hadn't told the girls any sorts of stories like that. Things that scary could wait until they were a bit older. No need to make them have nightmares this early on. "She'd have to be dead to turn into a zombie and your mum's too strong of a gal to die on us."
"Mum. Said if i wasn't a good girl they'd come in the night and eat me." His daughter grinned brightly at him. "Papa wouldn't let anyone eat me though."
He snickered slightly and shook his head. Leave it to her to tell the little girls stories just so they'd come bug him about it. "Course not. Papa'd kick those nasty zombies in the rear. Can't have anything eating my girls." He nipped at his daughters mane lightly before nudging her back toward the river. "nothing to worry about from zombies anyway. They'd just fall appart before they could even eat you." He grinned as he leaned down closer to his daughter. "Probably get so scared at the sight of such a strong little girl that it would just fall to pieces in fright."
His daughter laughed at him and nudged his leg. "You're just making that up. Monsters dont get scared of little girls."
"You dont know that kiddo." He nodded. "What's scary someone one might not be scary to another. After all, your sister's scared of lizards and you're not right?"
His daughers eyes widened slightly. "ooohh...." She called out to her sister and quickly darted off to go tell the other little girl that zombies might not be as scary as she thought. He shook his head with a laugh as he watched them babble on about monsters. Least it would give them something to think about. Maybe he could use that as a start to knock it into their heads that just because someone says something's true that you dont always have to believe it.
Mother Prompt
She'd been idly watching the girls roll around in the grass while their father looked for somewhere else they could sleep for the night. She'd let her attention wander off for a bit following the line of a bird up in the clouds and didn't noticed the little girl beside her until she heard a voice pipe up.
"Mum ... did you steal your wings from an eagle?" Bright purple eyes looked up at her in complete serisouness.
She blinked down at her daughter for a moment. Leave it to a filly to come up with an explination like that. "Of course not. It would be cruel to take away the freedom of the skies from a eagle just because i wanted it too. It woudl be like taking your legs from you so you couldn't feel the grass under your hooves as you ran across the plains." She'd expected eventually to be asked about her wings, since her mate and neither of the girls had them, but she hadn't expected it to be asked like that.
"So how did'ya get'em?" The little girl tilted her head slightly as she watched her mother.
"I was born with them." She nodded. "My papa had wings." She stretched one out and tapped her daughter on the nose. "Want to know what he told me about them?" She watched as her daughter was quick to nod and smiled. "My papa told me that the Great Spirits granted some wings so that they could watch over those below them and warn them of far off danger. The spirits wanted us to always be safe so they gave some the ability to extend that saftey even further."
"But .... does that mean that the spirits dont like me and sissy as much?" The little girl scrunched her nose.
"No, of course not." She pulled her daughter closer with a wing. "You and your sister were granted strength just like your papa, strength i'll never have." She smiled as her daughters eyes brightened again. "I can warn you of danger but i'm delicate, i was built to be light weight. You and your sister and papa are strong and sturdy. You can run for days on end and you have the strength to protect others from danger. You can grow up strong and brave and be the warrior just like your papa."
Foal Prompt - Foal 1
Mum was feeling bad, papa was fretting over her, and that left her and her sister to entertain themselves. They'd been told not to go far but there wasn't anything to that wasn't 'far'. Sighing she trotted over to where her sister was nosing around in a bed of flowers. Nudging her sister she huffed slightly. "There's nothing to do, mum and papa are borring, and here you are with your nose stuck in those things."
"Like you're doing any better." Her sister scrunched her nose and turned slightly. "Huffing at me. Why don't you come up with something to do, Miss smarty."
"....." She thought about that for a moment. That wasn't fair. She was tired of coming up with things and entertaining herself. "Bah .... Mum just needs to feel better. We should make her feel better!" That would do it. If mum felt better then she'd be able to have fun and then it wouldn't be borring anymore. Papa would take them to do things and mum could tell them stories.
"How'er we suppose to do that?" Her sister rolled her eyes.
"Umm.... no flowers, so dont even think about that." There were floweres everywhere. Getting Mum those wouldn't make any difference. She looked around for a bit before looking back toward her parents. "... if we dont tell think we could get to the river?"
"Papa said not to go that far .... what's by the river?" Trust her sister to try to be a good girl and then still ask questions about being bad.
"There's shinny stuff in the river ... mum likes pretty things. We could bring her some." There were shinny rocks and pebbles and some times even shells got pulled up river if they were lucky. If they could bring some back for mum then maybe she'd cheer up a bit.
"We're gonna get in trouble."
"No we wont. They wont even know we were gone and then they'll be so happy that we cheered mum up that they'll forget about punishing us. 'Sides..." She turned and trotted off toward the river. "I'm goin anyway. IF you dont come they'll just yell at you for not stopping me." She grinned at her sisters indignat face and almost laughed as she heard her sister following her. She was so easy to get to go along with things.

Quote: You've been very blessed throughout your life, especially in regards to your family, which consists of a loving mate and two beautiful daughters. Your mate is currently feeling under the weather, so you've taken on the responsibility of looking after your two daughters. Where do you take them? What do you talk to them about? Do you try to teach them a life lesson, or do you play around? Father= Ashwind Pink-marked daughter=Iatha Blue-marked daughter= Solia Mother= Diala It broke his heart to see Diala anguishing, He loved that mare with his greatest capacity to love, a love he saw her reciprocate, the same love he saw other fathers feel for their children... Not him, though. He could barely tolerate his offspring. They were nothing like their graceful, refined, quiet mother... which was why he avoided them at all costs. Today, though, was an exception, and he'd promised to take them someplace special. He could think of only one place that came even close to being special for him. The river. He loved the river. The slow-moving, sparkling water, the soft rustle of the reeds and rushes on the banks, the charming innocence of the fowl that nested on the sloping shores, the cries of the hawks in the trees... every good thing in his life had happened near this water, and if he had to watch over his offspring for the day, there was no place better to do it. Still, he squirmed at the thought of having to spend the entire day with them. As they clopped their way down to the river, he braced himself mentally for this day. From the shores, he could see a family of ducks paddling downstream, a mother, a father, and seven ducklings. He watched silently as one of the little yellow balls of down got separated from the others, and the male frantically wheeled around to retrieve it as it peeped in distress. The mother quacked anxiously as her mate retrieved her wayward offspring. Why couldn't he be like that father duck, caring more for his children than anything else in the entire world? He'd only managed to take them out here today out of concern for Diala. It had nothing to do with wanting to spend time with them because he was their father. At least, perhaps, they could be taught, something his father had taught him when he was a colt. "Girls," he began, but was cut off by the mad honkings of a perturbed flock of geese, the same peaceful birds that Solia was currently chasing into the river, giggling crazily as she did it. "Hey!" he shouted, trying to get her attention. "Don't do that to the poor geese! They didn't do anything to you!" Solia looked back up at him, puzzled. "But it's fun, Da!" "How would you like it if somebody chased you into the river?" "Happy! It's hot!" Ashwind shook his head, mouth slightly agape. What was wrong with this child? Meanwhile, Iatha wrinkled her nose, obviously confused. "What's so special about here, Da? It's just the river. We come down here every day." Her words got to him. Ashwind's spirits fell, deflated. He'd come down here, intent on teaching them some important lesson, how the river was an allegory for life or some such, how the little bends and bumps in the river were like the little snags in life, like their mother's current illness. But... if they couldn't see the inherent specialness about the place... He sighed. Being a father was tough. He hadn't been expecting this, this childishness about his children. He supposed he'd expected little adults, introspective and quiet, but his daughters were loud, rambunctious, and completely clueless about life in general. How did their mother deal with this? He knew that he was supposed to love them. They were perfect, for children. But... The mother duck was now quacking at the duckling who had kicked away, while the father glided along at the back of the brood. It was the mother's place to worry, to fret, to love... the father was a watcher, a protector, a fixer of broken things. He could do that. He could do that for his family. Being a father couldn't be that hard, could it? "N...nothing, girls. Nothing at all." He smiled, a small smile, but a real one. "So, you're right. It is pretty warm. C'mon. Let's go for a swim." If he couldn't love them, he could at least protect them.

(( Thought I'd relate it to my mother entry by using her name etc ))
Crossfire nuzzled his mate tenderly. "It's ok my love. I understand." He burred "you go relax by the riverside, I'll look after our children." He continued to nuzzle and kiss her neck. The mare looked distressed after one of the foals questioned about wings.
Crossfire knew Moonflight was upset. Moon' dearly wanted at least one foal to have wings. Cross shook his head "Don't worry about it. She'll grow up and be merrier with whom she is." He half cantered to the foals, keeping an eye on Moon' as she took to the skies, her coat blending into the clouds.
"Papa!" Cried the blue foal who danced upon her heels at the sight of the black stallion. "Hello there Merry" He laughed as the second grey foal bit playfully at his side "Hello to you too Cascade" He replied. The two foals begun to run around him in circles, convincing their father to rear onto his hind legs. Crossfire looked up at the sky, searching for his mate, concerned for her safety.
"So where do you two want to go?" He asked. The foals looked bewildered "How about the hills?" He smirked lowering his head to their level. "Yes Papa yes!" Both of the foals cheered, bucking around in the air. "Ok then! Keep up!" He worked himself into an easy canter, the foals galloping to remain ahead.
The hills is a small valley that goes up and down like a roller coaster, especially when you gallop and canter down the steep falls. When they all arrived they did exactly that. Cantering and galloping around.
Crossfire and the foals played for hours on end, til finally Moonflight appeared and nodded her head to her mate. Crossfire galloped towards her "Last one to hug your mother is flyblown!" He laughed and raced to Moon'. He purposely let them win of course. Moon' smiled shaking her head. "You know you can't out run them. They have my blood in their veins." She smiled.
Crossfire nodded and walked beside her, his tail flicking and teasing his beautiful mares'.

Foal Prompt Your mother is feeling under the weather, so you and your sister decide that you both want to do something to cheer her up. Where do you go, and what do you do to try and make her feel better/cheer her up? ------------------------------------------- I am going for Filly two. In my entry her name is Xavia and her sister's name is Amaree. -------------------------------------------
Xavia and Amaree watched their mother from deep with in a near by meadow. They were worried their mother’s recent change in mood over the past day or two. She was more tired, sickly, and they didn’t know what to do. So, they sat and watched as their mother slept under the shade of a giant tree. Their father had gone off to find some new grounds for them to stay at to see if some change in scenery would do their mother good.
Xavia, the filly with the brighter eyes, sighed as she started to walk off, downcast at their mothers turn.
Amaree turned to her sister, more worry in her eyes,“What’s wrong Xavia?” she whispered incase their mother could somehow here them.
The darker sister stopped and turned her head towards the lighter of the two. “I’m just worried about mother. I mean, what if something happens? What if she gets worse? I don’t want to lose her and I’m sure father would just fall apart if such a thing happened.”
“Don’t say such things Xavia! She’ll get better! You just wait and see.” Amaree’s look or worry and anger changed to one of softness. “Maybe, maybe mother just needs a little push.”
“What do you mean a little push?” Xavia was all ears at this point.
“You know, a little push. You’ve seen how if someone is sad and they get a gift they look better right?”
Xavia nodded eagerly wondering what her sister was getting at. Their mother was sick, not depressed.
“Well,” Amaree circled her sister. “Why don’t we get mother a gift? I’m sure a gift could do the same for someone who is feeling sick.”
“That is a great idea Amaree! Mother will be so surprised and I’m sure such a nice gesture will make her feel better!”
“Right! Now lets get going!”
The two foals ran off deeper in to the meadow looking for anything that would make a good gift. They came across a bunch of flowers, but they agreed flowers were too cliché. The two cam across a river which held a bunch of shiny and colorful rocks, but they wondered if it would be too weird a gift. Flowers, colorful rocks, crafts, food, nothing was good enough or right.
The day began to grow dark and the girls still didn’t have a good gift. The two fillies trekked their way back to their mother depressed and low hearted.
“We didn’t find ANYTHING that is good enough…” Amaree sighed and kicked a near by pebble.
“Well, maybe we will find something on our way back?” Xavia looked over at her saddened and annoyed sister.
“Yeah! Like that will happen..”
The two sighed and looked around as the sky swallowed the sun and the moon feel from the top. Creatures big and small scurried around getting ready for a night of good sleep. As the stared lit up the sky fireflies began to light up the lower earth. As the girls watch they spotted something amazing, the perfect gift. Smiling, they ran back to the giant tree.
“Mother! Father! Mother!” the two screamed in unison as they skid in front of their parents.
Their mother looked bewildered. “What is it girls?”
“And where have you two been? We thought you were lost or hurt!” their father looked a bit annoyed.
“It doesn’t matter dad just follow us!” Amaree screamed out in excitement.
“Yeah! Yeah! You have to see what we found!”
Both parents looked at each other with confusion, but followed their girls.
The two foals ran around excited as their parents followed, still confused, but also amused at their girls.
Soon, the family came upon a giant lake surrounded by willows and flowers. The water was tinted with colors of sea green, purples and blues. Fireflies danced across the sky and lake at the moon shined along with them. It was an example of perfect beauty.
The sisters looked up with at their mother with giant smiles which grew bigger as they saw her. At this moment she looked anything but sick. Whether it was all her or the glow around her, she looked as healthy and young as ever. They had done it. They found the perfect gift and their mother was ok now.
“So, how are you mom?”
“Are you ok?”
The glowing mother looked down at her girls with a gently smile.
“I think I’m going to be just fine.”

Entry for mother
----------------------------------------------
A gentle breeze ruffled the feathers that lay folded against the blue mares back. Black legs folded underneath her body, she lay in wait for her children to return from their afternoon out with their father. Her head turned towards the faint noise of chatter, and she knew they must be returning home.
“I wish I could have flown home like mother!” Spat on of the foals, her legs aching from her outing.
No wanting to see what her father or her sister had to say about her sudden outburst she galloped over to where her mother lay. Why didn’t she have wings like her mother? The foal stood directly in front of her mother her face gruff and determined. She wanted an answer.
“Why don’t I have wings?” Demanded the filly.
Her mother laughed, a gentle soft chortle that filled the air with pleasantness and warmth. She knew, like all mothers knew, that one day her children would want to know why they didn’t look like her. Her light blue eyes looked fondly over her daughter.
“My dear, not everyone is born the same. It should not matter what you have on your back.” The mother stated as she rose from her position on the ground with elegance and grace that she had mastered through her years.
“But Mama, I want wings too!” Cried her daughter.
“I don’t want wings, I want terrible claws, and great big fangs! Then I could scare everyone!” Stated the other filly with a laugh as she listened in on their conversation.
“Darling, why do you want wings? They do not make you any less important, and especially not to me or your father. What is important is your heart, and I am happy to say, you have one of the biggest and best hearts I know.” Her mother explained with a wide grin.
The filly smiled back, understanding and pride in her eyes. “Thanks mama.” She turned to her sister and said, “You hear that? I have a really big heart!”

Foal Prompt- Trying for Foal #1- Names-#1-Pharinet, #2-Ren, Father-Valraven, Mother-Everna
Pharinet trotted around a tree after playing with her sister Ren and saw their mother standing in a clearing looking sad, and like she didn't feel well. Pharry stopped and watched as their mother looked into the sky then she lowered her front and then her back and settled on the ground. Pharry looked around her and saw Ren eating some grass. She trotted over and nudged her sister int he side.
"Ren we have to make mommy happy. She looks so sad! Umm...Lets find some flowers and put them around her." she said happily. She looked over at their mother and she was sleeping. "If were quiet then we should be able to place them all around her!" Pharinet said with a smile.
"Oh maybe we can get some in her hair too!! And we could find some apples maybe!?" She said excited as she looked around. "You get flowers i'll get the apples or some kind of fruit." Ren said as she darted off looking for apples.
She was always good at finding fruit. Pharinet walked off and up a hill and found some flowers. She walked into the field and began grabbing some with her mouth. When she got a mouth full of them she walked back and placed them around her mother quietly. She saw that Ren had dropped off an apple and a leaf of berries already. Pherry quickly placed the flowers about her mother, she would try putting them on her and in her mane and tail later after she had more flowers. She quietly went off back to the field and got more flowers. On her way back Ren had followed her.
"I got some more apples and berries so i'll get some flowers now too." Ren said as she passed Pherry. Pharinet walked back happily and began placing the flowers again. She put them around their mother so it looked like she was sitting in a sea of flowers. Ren came back as Pherry was sliding some into Everna's tail. As Ren went behind her and put a few in her mane. They heard someone coming over and turned to see their dad with a mouth full of hay and flowers as well. He placed them next to the apples and berries infront of Everna and smiled at his daughters.
"Seems like i'm not the only one who wanted to make mom happy." He said softly. The girls smiled at him as they put the last flowers in their mothers hair and went and stood next to their father.
Valraven reached out with his head and nuzzled Everna softly. Her eyes fluttered open and she loooked at him then at the flowers and her daughters. She smiled as she looked around her and at her tail and mane.
"Aww you guys know how to make a mother happy. I'm sure i have the most woderful daughters and mate that a mare could ever ask for." She said as she nuzzled her mate back and the girls came forward and nuzzled their mother happily.
"We love you mommy!" They said in unison as they sat next to their mother. Everna nuzzled them back happily. "And i love you guys as well!" She said as Valraven laid next to them all and they shared the apples and berries with one another talking happily about what they might do later that day.
