"My nose!?" Godfrey covered his nose with his hand, squinting at Josh. Not his nose. He liked his nose, thanks.
Godfrey actually started slightly, feeling an excited thump in his chest at Josh's comment. Not his nose of course, but-
He opened his mouth to reply, feeling ready to let something inside of him loose- when Josh suggested he unlock the door.
"Oh.... sure." Godfrey couldn't remember where he'd put his wand for a moment, and he was really comfy on the bed, but he got up and found it, and unlocked the door, before returning to the bed and flopping on it once more, arms down at his sides as he paid no attention to if anyone came in or not.
"Sounds fun though, minus the broken nose. And I wouldn't want anyone pulling on my tail either." Godfrey frowned, thinking about how he'd burn anyone who tried to pull his tail hairs out. It might be fun to jump around punching people, but there were some things he didn't like strangers doing to him.

"Yeah. Me and my friends used to do it together, which is the best way, because you can watch eachother's back and stuff. Sometimes it gets way crazy though, so you kinda have to judge when to get out..." Josh stared up at the ceiling, feeling thoughtful. "I've broken my nose twice, didja know that? Only once from moshing though..."
Josh felt utterly content to lie here and talk to Godfrey all night. Even if he was expelled for not doing his pile of homework, it was definitely worth it for the afternoon he was having. "Godfrey, you think sometimes people just don't feel pain the same way? Or do you think it's more like... something you get a tolerance to?"
Josh rolled over to lay on his stomach, his head turned to look at Godfrey, wondering if his question was odd. Godfrey didn't seem to mind when Josh was odd, though, of course.

Godfrey shook his head. No, he hadn't known that. Josh's nose looked alright though. He reached out, intending to poke it, then stared at him as he asked his question.
"No. I think some people don't like pain. Some people do. Some people only like certain types of pain. Some people only like pain they can control, some people only like pain to control others. Some people might think they don't like something but then they try it and they do......"
He paused, his serious look turning concerned, and gently touched Josh's nose. "...... you shouldn't have to tolerate pain, Josh."
The next question, of course, was 'Is someone hurting you, or have they,' but Godfrey was wary of asking, not because he didn't want to know, but because he didn't always like the feelings he got of wanting to hurt people, and he knew he'd surely want to hurt whoever hurt Josh- his parents?

"Yeah. No, you're right. But sometimes you don't like something, but it's still... like you hate a certain food but if you eat it enough, or if you don't got anything better to eat you start to like it. Know what I mean?" Josh didn't flinch away when Godfrey touched his nose: it didn't hurt or anything, it had healed a long time ago, luckily nearly as straight as when it started. Which was lucky, considering he hadn't even went anywhere to get it set when he had broken it in the mosh.
"Eh, doesn't matter anyways. I just meant to say how breaking your nose just feels different, really." Josh touched his nose along with Godfrey; it really didn't feel as if it had been broken unless you really knew where the break happened, just the slightest indent.
Josh moved his hand to touch Godfrey's face, brushing his fingers across Godfrey's cheek. "You're really beautiful, you know that Godfrey?"

Godfrey would not let himself be distracted by touches and words, no matter how much he felt like hiding his face or blushing.
"Yes, I know what you mean." He frowned as if knowing exactly what Josh meant, and he didn't like it.
"It does matter." Godfrey's frown only became deeper, his brows knitting together. "Of course it matters."
"Who?" He asked finally, staring intently at Josh as if to coax all answers from him.

Josh stared back, not expecting the conversation to turn in this direction. He didn't think Godfrey would react so seriously, at least. The question of who was vague, so it took Josh a moment to reason it through. The answer was an obvious one, but it wouldn't make a difference what it was. Josh didn't want to answer, especially if he wasn't totally sure of what Godfrey was asking.
Josh pulled his hand back, his face almost neutral. He didn't have much left to feel on this subject. "Who what...?" He stared back, but without the feeling Godfrey had, a cold stare. He could play dumb, but for once he wasn't sure if that was what he would do. He could let himself believe that fantasy that talking to Godfrey would make it all better. Maybe.

"Who. Who's hurt you? Who broke your nose the first time? Who!"
Godfrey did not raise his voice, only continued to intently stare, his eyes boring into Josh almost commandingly- tell me.

"Telling you isn't going to change anything. You know it won't." Josh stared back, while simultaneously staring through.
"I was eight and it was my stepdad and it was mostly an accident anyways, and it doesn't matter because I don't want anything to happen to him because of it. He keeps my mom from bugging the s**t out of me, and they're a grand ol' match made in heaven as far as I care. If they're happy that means they aren't paying attention to me and that's what really matters." He took a deep breath, let it out slowly.
"I'm already out of there anyways. I'm here, with you." Josh ground his teeth together, looking down rather than at Godfrey and repressing what he was feeling. He wasn't about to take it out on Godfrey.

"Yes it will! Telling might not change then, but it can change now." Maybe Godfrey had lived too long with a therapist, but he knew some things- the most important being that telling was good and that telling could help. He kept staring at Josh with an eerie intensity.
Godfrey listened, feeling a pang of guilt- he did want to hurt them. Sometimes he really wanted to hurt bad people, and he knew it wasn't just normal thoughts either. He never talked about it with anyone. Tears came to his eyes for both Josh and himself.
"That's it? Only that one time?" He tried to keep the stare but wavered, and did the only thing he could do- he reached over and grabbed Josh, pulling himself tightly against the other boy, tucking Josh's spiky hair under his chin and hugging- squeezing him tightly, fingers pressing against Josh's skin and turning it white under his fingertips.
"I hate them, I hate them!" Godfrey squeezed Josh tighter, not just or mostly meaning Josh's parents- meaning other people who he felt were scum and who would be better off being dead and not bothering anyone anymore- like that man on the radio the other day. He knew it had to be easy too, what with how so many people had been able to do it. It would be too easy and he hated that also.

Josh let Godfrey pull him close, lightly hugged him back, his face pressed against Godfrey's chest. He knew Godfrey would have strong feelings about it, as he usually did. Josh tried avoiding talking about his parents when he could help it; the emotion wasn't worth it.
"It's a waste of time to hate them. They don't feel anything towards us. It's better to just... just not even bother thinking about them or, just, anything." Josh took a deep breath and held it. He hugged Godfrey tighter, snuggled in against him. He closed his eyes, just focusing on the warmth of the other boys body, drowning out any other thoughts. They couldn't hurt him anymore.

Godfrey just held Josh tighter, going so far as to hook his fot around Josh's knee to wrap him further around himself.
It was better sometimes to hate someone even if it was futile, instead of doing something about it, but Godfrey heeded Josh's words about not thinking and therefore didn't say it.
He sighed heavily through his nose and lightly rubbed his cheek against Josh's hair. It was hard and spiky with the gel, and he was severely flattening it, but it didn't really hurt or matter.
"I love you." He murmured, just because it didn't take any thinking to say it, only feeling.
((*Catches sap in da bukket*))

Josh smiled sligtly, tilting his head up to kiss the underside of Godfrey's chin. "Love you, too." Josh held Godfrey close for a long while, just thinking to himself. Nothing came to mind about what to say next, and he didn't want to just change the conversation. It was nice to just lie in silence and filter through his thoughts for the time being, anyhow.
He slowly separated himself from Godfrey, wriggling underneath the blankets and holding them up so Godfrey could come under with him. "Come on."

Godfrey was still shutting out all thoughts, since feelings were nicer anyways. Especially when the angry feelings quieted and left the quiet ones behind, the ones that buzzed around lightly within himself with a sort of tranquility.
With Josh's prompt he got under the covers as well, but retained the position he'd had before- no longer holding Josh so fiercely, but still feeling a need to wrap Josh almost within himself- nevermind that he was much shorter in height and limb.

*Heaves a soft sigh, continuing to sit at one of the many coffee tables littered about the room, writing away at a long roll of parchment.*
I think I've listed over forty reasons how transfiguring your pet into an inanimate object can save your life and won't harm said pet...instead of the original ten....
I still can't believe someone's causing a fuss and saying the class teaches animal cruelty... Hopefully this and all the other essays will help McGonagall to shut that group up.
