You all are so lucky that you have such supportive moms... whee Mine thinks it's pretty weird, but doesn't complain so long as I make most of my own attire. She also thinks it has something to do with the book, seeing as I am also a fan of that. No matter what I do, I think it'll always be "those weird baby-doll clothes" to her. xp

I haven't even told my mom yet, so I can't help any. But I can say this, my mom and sister don't like me painting my nails black *Yeah, I know* And my sister, who is 23 and I'm 15, says she dosen't want me to end up being gothic like. I tell them It's just clothing. Plus it has to do with the music I listen to also. So I wonder how they would react.

girl_no_13 My mum still thinks Lolita clothes are a bit odd, but shes very sipportive- for example I was making a dress out an old mans shirt and she came home, took one look at it and said 'if you cut the sleeves off it will look more like a dress and you cam use the sleeves as legwarmers' Result= I have an amazing tarten punk-Lolita dress with matching legwarmers! heart My mums amazing! That sounds uber cute. How long is it though?

I hardly ever actually dress lolita, if ever. But I'm sure if I wore it a bit then my parents wouldn't mind, cause they're always telling me that I dress like a boy sweatdrop .

I used to dress kind of bummish. I wore big tshirts and somewhat large pants. I didnt really care how I looked, as long as i didnt make a big scene about me. Ive kind of changed. I enjoy being girly (lolita changed me i think whee )

Though I don't own any loli attire, I've shown it to my mother before. She thinks it looks 'silly' and she doesn't like how they make women have to look 'doll like.' which really bugs me, especially coming from the woman who would die to dress me in that stuff if I was still five. The dresses are pretty conservative, as she is, but she still doesn't seem to like them. I fear that she cares not about my interests, and would prefer me to dress the way she does. ._. ugh. Another thing she said when I had research information for a paper on Gothic lolita was "Don't ever become Gothic" then she went on telling me about some gothic kid who killed someone..... wheee. -_- once again, someone is mistaking gothloli for gothic.
On the bright side, my dad thinks it's a cool fashion. =3 He'll get me a dress too if I get straight As.
My parents clash. O_o

My parents clash. O_o Oh yeah! I heard about htat on Court TV. Some "goth" kid in California killed a famous lawyer's wife. Im not sure WHY, but they were having a big discussion about whether or not he was in a satanic cult and what not. Whatever it may be, it was pretty hilarious. It's stupid how people seem to thic Goth is sooo bad. But you never hear them going "oh well this person dressed hip-hop style, he must have been in some Black Panther-type cult to have killed this person" Pishawww. Im tired of all of the negativity of goth, and lolita. XP

PsychodelicPenguin Also, does anyone have an opinion about someone who's rather.. plus size, like me, wearing lolita? My mom thought the stuff I showed her was too girly and small. But the sizes came in MY size. confused Alas i have seen all the posts and no one has botherd to comment on this part...((i'm sure your slightly annoyed Miss Penguin)) Well you did say you make your own clothing so just keep at it...maybe dont make your skirt quite as short...or whatever...((i have the same problem you do so now i'm trying to cut back on eating >.< and lose weight! We could do it togeather...yes...no...heeh... xp )) anyhoo...i'll try my best to find a solution to that problem..but this whole world has gone skinny so it will be quite a quest
I shall add you to my friends list so we can speak more about this between ourselves...

I shall add you to my friends list so we can speak more about this between ourselves... Sounds like a plan! The US is obsessed with dieting while they are still getting fatter. I find that funny. all of my skirts dont go above my knee, though I do have a mini skirt I would love to wear someday. It fits me, I just feel self consious wearing it. sweatdrop My doctor told me on Monday that I need to start dieting. I havent been doing so good so far. xd But I will tyr to exercise more often. Might do that after posting this. (yay for DDR!) Im going to go add you right now. heart

My mother dresses Lolita half the time, so she isn't allowed to have issues with me doing it.
