OMG I cried In the final Lair scene When Christine kissed the Phantom. It was just the breaking point for me. The movie was very well done in my opinion.

Red Scully Bubblesbb03 Onesidedpolygon Yes, I saw it the day it came out.. heart heart Was it only in my local theatre, or did you also see a bunch of people dressed up as Erik? There were quite a few here.. but what annoyed me were these 3 girls dressed in matching tacky purple dresses who were singing some of the songs before the movie started. >.o xd I'm the only one I saw that dressed up as Erik. My friends didn't bring their costumes..So I was the only one. It was funny though. After the movie this dude came up to me and was like "Oh, a Phantom Phan! Was the movie good? Would you reccommend it? I'm going to it right now. I've been a phan foever. I've seen the play four times...etc" Kept going on and on... gonk And all these people stared at me. whee And the ticket dude goes "Hey...Nice outfit." With the whole "wink" thing at me. xd heart lol cool! I'd dress up if I had anything to dress up in...I only had a cape, my sweater, and a hat on. I didn't even have a mask! But people were like, "Heeeeey...." *Wink* I loved that. My friends all made this huge deal about how the movie guy employees digged me. xd

Because they did Bubbles. I was with you I saw that one guy in waiting line eyeing you up. blaugh
I honestly loved the movie. I nearly cried at scence on the roof after Raoul and christine left and the phantom was holding the rose to his lips. It was so sad, but when Christine kissed him at the end my heart broke for him. thought when the phantom was going to kill Raoul and they were singing side by side i nearly bus tout laughing at the irony of that situation.

I was extremely disappointed with the movie.
If I'd never seen the performance, then it would probably have been good. But.. eh.. there were too many things in it that bothered me.
I was thoroughly impressed at the beginning though with the introduction to the flashback. I thought that was amazing.
But... whenever I heard Raoul's voice, my ears started bleeding. His voice was so.. high... pitched. It annoyed me. Very, very much so.
I also hated the casting for Erik. There's just something about his voice, it didn't sound right at all. I'm not sure what it was.. someone mentioned earlier it kind of sounded rock and roll.. That might be it. Then again, I probably wouldn't be satisfied with Erik's voice unless Michael Crawford was singing the part. XD;
Also, the part with the chandelier really, really annoyed me. At that point I was kind of just "...What the hell?" That's probably one of the most important things in the entire play. I didn't think it made sense where they put it. It's supposed to fall at Christine's feet... it's not supposed to crash into the audience and catch the entire theater on fire. x____X; That's something that really annoys me about American movies. They always have to have explosions and action... or something like that.
And.. when Erik, Christine, and Raoul were at Christine's father's grave.. I wanted to see Erik shoot fireballs. D:
*Note: I'm basing my critique strictly on the musical. I never finished the book.

!!!Phantom of the Opera!!! OK now bare with me... I am a music nutcase, and know a lot of big words so most of you who are easily confused might not wanna read this eek
But this movie was by far one of the best musicals I've seen. The songs are each captivating in their own way. Words entwine themselfs with notes and pitches, satisfying the ear beyond belief. The actor's voices filled your entire mentality, The Phantom himself was a dreamy lullaby of alluring deception. He was a sweet seductive creature of which you would melt by listening to the songs he sang. One fault held so strongly to so many that caused his imprisonment.
The music contained such strength, such power! You will be spun around into twirling dreams of fantasies that seem real. It makes you want to cry, it makes you want to yield to its command. You want to get up and dance, move to the beats and notes.
This movie captivates the soul, interlocking you in with it. You feel as if you are part of it, there... with all the cast members. Singing and dancing, joyful yet terrifried. The Phantom truely appeared exotic and erotic to me from his voice, his actions... his skills and passion! Everything he did... he did with full hearted passion!
oh my god.... these words mean nothing for the desire I crave for this play... oh my.............
OK I'm pretty sure you all think I'm completely crazy now o_o.... but yes, I'm an artistic music nut... and a writer...x.x... so yes.... I adore the arts... heh....... ok I'm gunna stop talking now... and count down the days till the movie comes out! until then... I hunt down the old version! rent it! and never return it! ninja

To each his own. 3nodding I have yet to see it.
Just a note: in the book the chandelier crashes into the audience.

That way, it better explains how the Opera House was like destroyed.
