Long hair whipped the side of his face as Reiya spun around, hands up in case it was someone he did not want to get caught by. Fortunately it was only Cepheus, who was wearing a smile fit to stare at for hours. The corners of Reiya's lips twitched up in a real smile, not one of those innocent ones that he gave when he felt threatened. He nodded. "Yeah. Take a walk?" He guestured away from the crowds before offering him a fruit that he had in hand. The other he kept for himself was slightly bruised from his firm grasp on it. "I need to ask you something." He didn't know how he was going to phrase the notion for the other male so that it would not scare him half to death. He just wanted an answer that would either be of help or of no help before he went home again.

Cepheus loosely grabbed the fruit and brought it to himself. "Thanks, and sure." He felt quite curious as to what the other had to ask him, having no slight idea whatsoever as to what it might be. He began to follow Reiya, not hesitant to go wherever he planned on going.

Reiya led them away from the crowds, to streets that were dotted with people. The strangers did not look as if they would pry into others' busines, so Reiya started talking in a hushed voice. "Okay, I don't want you to take this the wrong way. . . But there isn't really a way to make it sound good I guess. Just please don't be mad at me."
He paused, looking at the darkened red blotches on the red skinned apple before dropping his hand back to his side and continuing. His eyes fixed themselves on the ground. "I'm going to turn eighteen in a month. M'parents say I" -he put on a slightly high pitched voice to mimic his frantic mother- " 'have to have a younger boy before I turn eighteen'. Just like my brother." He sighed, shifting his shoulders uncomfortably. "They're bringing my third cousin from Romania. I don't want to though. I don't even know him. . . So, I was wondering if I could. You know. . . chose you?"
So Reiya had some trouble conveying what he thought. Didn't everyone? Besides, it wasn't as if he had to marry the guy, right? Just taking him in as. . . as a what? Reiya did not know what this law was suposed to do anyhow. He did not want to go to war. He did not want to marry so crazy girl for love. He didn't even love anyone as far as he knew! But then why was he so upset that Cepheus was not his boy?

Cepheus listened to what the other had to say, and a blush appeared on his face. "Oh, well, by that you mean, like...owning one...or...pairing with one...?" He felt his heart beat faster. He hardly knew him, yet that question got him so...nervous. "I...I guess..." Regardless of what it meant, it had to be better than how he was currently living. And, Reiya wouldn't do anything cruel anyway...right? He just didn't seem like the type of person. Cepheus felt interested, like he had an opportunity to finally rid himself of his current lifestyle.

"Pairing I guess." Those words were so hard to push off his tongue, like a bittersweet kiwi fruit. "Not like a. . . a slave. That would be evil." He looked over at teh boy, his eyes doubtful but accepting. He looked down the street then sighed and took a bite of his apple. Cepheus did not seem to keen on answering for the moment. He'd give him some time to think on it, but going home tonight would be treacherous even if he had an excuse. He swallowed the fruit in his mouth and shrugged. "You don't have to answer straight away. I'm just offering. . ." Trying to worm his way out of the awkward silence, he smiled at the younger boy. "Still hungry?"

Cepheus nodded. He probably would need some time to think. When he was asked if he was hungry he blinked, forgetting that he was holding an apple. "Oh yea, I forgot." He bit into the apple, enjoying the taste of the juice. He wasn't sure what to say, hoping the apple would be a good excuse for him to be silent. He swallowed and took another bite. Cepheus thought about something to say, but figured it would be pointless to bring up. His mind didn't seem to have any questions to ask, so what would he do? He swallowed the chewed up apple, and looked at Reiya. He wanted to say that maybe he should leave if they have nothing to talk about, but for some reason he didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay with Reiya. His mind jumbling with confusion, Cepheus bit into his apple again.

Reiya did not particularly enjoy the silence. It meant that Cepheus was probably preoccupied with thinking over Reiya’s offer. Though it wasn’t that good an offer, he supposed Cepheus might not be tempted by it. If he were Cepheus, he mightn’t be either. . . But he didn’t know what was happening in the boy’s life to make that decision in his mind, so when they got to the corner of the street, he silently turned round. “I can leave you to your thoughts if you’d like,” He said politely, then looked at the ground. “I’ve only just met you, so I guess it was asking too much. I’ll be by the fountain.” There was no peculiar tone carried by Reiya’s voice, but his face looked blank and thoughtful. He didn’t slouch. He didn’t have pockets so there was no sense in slouching anyhow. He looked around, wondering where exactly he was before he shook his head and started down the street they had just come up.

Cepheus swallowed the bite and tried to respond. He really was planning on saying that he'd rather stay with Reiya, but at the same time, he felt he wanted to be alone to think the offer over. So, without a word, Cepheus turned and paced towards his house, still eating the apple. His house wasn't that far off, just a few houses away from the square, but Cepheus was hoping Reiya wouldn't see where he was going. A part of him knew it was somewhat inevitable, but another part planned to keep it a secret it all costs. He dropped the finished apple as he came to his house, heading over to the door and slipping inside. He plopped himself on the couch, facing away from the window, and tried to clear his mind.

Reiya was slightly disappointed when he didn’t hear Cepheus’ voice calling after him, but he smiled. After all, he would do the calling later. Probably after his arm had been broken or something terrible like that had happen since he parents would be looking for him once again. He gave a small shudder and plopped down on the fountain lip, the cool water making the air as cool as the shade for a time like this morning. He looked towards the marketplace. Soon someone would notice that he hadn’t gone to get breakfast or that he wasn’t in his room, then they’d search for him. “Oh bother,” He said breathily before leaning back and letting his head fall back, his face towards the sky, his eyes closed. Maybe he’d invite Cepheus over. That would prolong the pain, and probably long enough for either the boy to agree or his cousin’s reply to come to the door. He shifted uncomfortably and stared at the ground in front of him. Aimlessly he straight up straight and his hands found his hair, beginning to work a braid through the long strands.

((boogala! i finally got the game i ordered! it came from thailand aparently XD))
Now, if he said no, he'd remain in this dead house, waiting to be taken away and sent to a family. Or maybe he wouldn't be sent to a family, maybe something bad would happen for him living like this. He could be left in some orphanage. And then...if he said yes. He would be able to stay with his new friend. He would be living a normal life and things would probably become even better. To Cepheus, saying yes would basically be saying yes to having constant sleep-overs at Reiya's house. Hm, why not? He felt assured with the rationale he drilled into his head. Cepheus stood up and left the house again. He would tell Reiya immediatly about his decision.
((but everything will come crashing down wen it's realized he doesn't have a family >=O. I think by having a younger partner, you don't nessecarily have to live with them, so he could still get the big problem of that secret being exposed! MUAHAHAHHAHA! And the thought of how Reiya's parents would feel about him being with a poor orphan biggrin ))

[[ Boogala. . . Right. . . o.O I think Reiya’s parents won’t be too happy about Ceph’s background check. That’s for sure! But they can’t do much now can they? >;D Poor Reiya will probably get a shock ]]
Russet hair was thrown over a shoulder in a along rope braid and the owner brushed bangs out of him face as he looked around the square. There was a silence in the square that Reiya just could not seem to break, even though he began to hum a strange made-up song. He looked around again, scratching at his chin with his shoulder then looking down at the running water. There was movement out of the corner of his eye and he looked up again, fearing that it was someone he did not want to see. But the soft familiar features gave away the boy, who Reiya had thought he would not be seeing for at least another few hours. He watched the boy walk nearer, wondering why he was back so soon. Had the decision really been that easy? Would he even say yes? Hazel eyes looked away, gliding around before settling back on the person. “Cepheus. . . I thought you went home.”

((lol. and, i had a dream that i met you o_O))
"I did. And now I'm back." He looked at the other directly. "I've decided yes." There was nothing more to it. It was decided, with little to no hesitation within. Reiya would be happy then. That was the decision he was hoping for, right? Something in Cepheus' mind was anxious to hear the other's response and see the other's expression.
((i beat the entire game, XD. It's such an old game and the cpu's, even on level "easy" , could not be more cheap))

[[ That's weird. . . How'd I look? 4laugh ]]
Reiya's heart skipped a beat and he simply stared for a few seconds before a relieved smile danced across his face. He jumped right up and flung his arms around Cepheus in the most uncharacteristic show of emotion he had ever displayed in public: a hug. "Thank you. You don't know how much this means to me." He pulled back abruptly, now keeping his distance because of a slight shame. "You're absolutely sure, right?" He waited for some response, then sighed and looked around quietly. "Hey. . . You said you went home. Where do you live? Must be close by." Reiya did not know what harm he was probably mentally causing the younger boy. It was just an innocent question to him.
[[ Lemme guess. A 'kick and punch' game? >_< ]]

((i dont rly know lol. I sorta think u had long white hair, but it might have been different. I'm thinking u may have been something like ur sig or ur char on this rp. or not... idk crying ))
A small blush appeared on the boy's face as he was embraced by Reiya. He shrugged off the feeling after it was over.
Cepheus nodded, he was sure. Hearing the next question made him somewhat nervous. "Um, yea I guess. But my parents don't like people coming over while they aren't home. Sorry." He wondered how long that excuse would last. At the moment it was the only excuse he could think of.
((And nyuuuuuuuu, Digimon Battle Spirit is more than a kick and punch game >=P))

[[ wow! I'm cool! biggrin And Digimon is cheap. I got it for the computer. Downloaded it a while ago. It sucks although the attacks are kinda cool. . . >.< ]]
Reiya simply nodded, figuring they might have left for work or something. He looked around then his eye twitched at the thought of home. That was where he had to go in the evening. Maybe-- "Since you agreed and all, mind coming by my house for a while? We can have lunch there if you want." He gave a bright smile then looked at the ground and added, "Normally I wouldn't tell my parents anything until they asked, but I don't want to get torn to shreds again. Father uses a switch if I really disappoint him. Seems I've been doing that alot."
He shrugged then looked hopeful. He would understand if Cepheus did not want to go to his house, but he would probbaly have to search out the boy the next day so to save them both the trouble, he simply asked. With eyes on Cepheus' he began to head to his residence. There was relief shown in his eyes, though not much because if there never was much of anything really. He was more of a physical person than trying to display all of what he felt. Words and actions defined it better most of the time.
