Redemption.
The word echoed in his head, his unreachable desire, the choice he would make if given the chance. He looked to Shalom and the priest and then over to Toby and the angels, one of them on the ground…good old Toby had floored him, saving Gray from being battered even further. He gave a small snigger at Toby’s sheer horridness as he spat in the face of an angel. He wanted to answer the boy with ‘kill him’ but Gray was in a predicament and to go with what came naturally just wouldn’t do, not when Shalom had offered to help him, help him break free from the mould that was hound.

“Just leave him, let him live to remember that he only lives because of our mercy…mercy he believed we did not have” he smiled at his answer then looked to the angel with long dark hair “Leave us, you wouldn’t kill a man who seeks God would you?” he edged nearer to the inside of the church “Plus it’s disrespectful to fight on holy ground” he gave a shrug, his eyes twinkled with menace and his grin was dark and spiteful and yet, it would seem he had good intentions,

“He cannot seek redemption!” Virgil protested half heartedly “He is taking you for a fool” he tried to explain looking up at the man who had spoken in Grays defence, he saw the marks on his face and it silenced him for a few moments…how odd, but in politeness he did not mention it. He then stared up at the younger looking hound that was now towering over him, he flinched feeling he had spat at him. He wiped at his face with his sleeve and glared up at him, he was just about ready to get up to show the little s**t what for but the Grays words had shocked him, he had advised the younger to let Virgil live! This was certainly not how hounds were; the kill was usually what was important, mercy shown from a hound?
“I live because you let me?” Virgil sounded “I very much doubt it, you are both foolish…your masters will torture you if you live for them to find out”

“We do not have masters” Gray replied with pride “And I do not belong to any race or any side”

"Well, I don't feel like letting you live very much....but Grays right....." Toby said, snickering slightly. "How humiliating for you!" Toby glanced at Gray, seeing how serious he was about letting the angel live. But I do have to admitt, Toby thought to himslef. It is a little strange... "Well, get up." Toby sighed, slightly defeated. "Run, cower or do whatever angels do when they have their a**'s beat....but." He walked away with his back to the angel "If you try to do anything funny, next time, or right now if you'd rather try to kill me now, I WILL kill you.....regardless of what Gray says then."

"This is blasphemy against the church!" Adonia exclaimed "I will have no part letting these two pieces of filth live, you should be ashamed of even suggesting such a thing...a man of the cloth you cannot be!" her eyes wide with shock and disgust as she glared over in Shaloms direction. She observed him and came to the conclusion he was not human, she sensed it for one...a mortal wouldn't say such things! At least in her opinion they wouldn't.
"An elf" she spat "A funny looking one, but you are elven...am I correct in thinking so?" she asked although it didn't matter to her really "You were the one playing that ghastly music" she assumed. She looked up to the red moon that hung in the sky like a giant reminder of why she was here "We don't have time for this" she looked down at Virgil "Will you get up? we must fight!" she held her sword before her and then charged towards Gray "God would want this piece of scum killed rather than be stood on his holy ground" she knocked the hound backwards so that they were right inside of the church. She did not know if Virgil had decided get up and she did not care if fighting the house of God was considered bad because In Adonias’ mind a hound standing there alive was much worse than a bit of violence in a church.

Her legs became tired as she followed Cupid with as much haste as possible, the wind howled and seemed to follow her as she ran; her spine shivered and her cheeks stung.
Where are you taking me? She thought as she turned a corner, she came to a stop seeing the great church looming over the city, sat in its centre like a giant monster ready to consume the whole of Heedwic. She saw it in her head, the church opening its giant mouth with pointed teeth breathing and taking in the city. She giggled at herself and shook her head to concentrate. She could hear talking and she saw figures of people stood right up near the church entrance, the light from within the church poured out from the great open doors and it cast shadows of the people that stood within its doorway.
She watched as Cupid flew right over to where the people stood, he was investigating the scene; he then came back to Rudolph resting on her shoulder. He told her it was not safe but this only intrigued her, she wanted to see what was going on over there, how could the church be dangerous? She felt herself phase out until she was not visible to the naked eye anymore; she had not made herself invisible for such a long time that the sensation was somewhat new to her.
"No one can see me!" She laughed finding it all a little amusing; she jumped on the spot flapping her arms as if a bird and giggled at herself.
Concentrate Rudolph Pennyweaver! She thought to herself. She began slowly towards the church, she walked right past the demon she had come across earlier, she stood a distance away from the church; seemingly spying on the people at the entrance. As she got closer she could hear Cupid chirping in her ear, warning her to stay away, she batted him away with her hand softly "Go away Cupid! I can look after myself!" she made sure she was extremely quiet, the figures soon became three dimensional instead of just silhouettes. She watched as a woman with long dark hair attacked some other guy, pushing him into the church. The woman looked familiar, something about her face.

Shalom stepped quickly in front of the angel, not raising his blade, seeing if she would strike him. He looked up, showing his scars and his eyes.
"No... only a half-elf. As for blasphemy, it is only a blasphemy against your own assumptions. Why not ask God if this hound can still have redemption before you spill blood in His house?" Shalom knew that the hound may have been fooling him. He knew that he could right now be making the greatest mistake of his life. But somehow, he wanted the hound to have redemption. There was something different about him... There was a connection between them. An understanding, maybe even the beginnings of a friendship. An unlikely one maybe, but still a friendship. They were both monsters, and there was a chance that soon both would find themselves seeking redemption.

She had been ready to plunge her blade right into the hounds’ skull, her sword held up towards the sky. She jumped back as the elven boy intervened.
"Your eyes!" came from her lips without her even thinking about it, she stood up straight as he spoke to her "Half" she repeated, she thought about his race for a moment and then came to her own conclusion "But you are not a mortal, I am under no obligation to let you live; you stand in my way...if I have to remove you I will" Adonia would not have anyone she saw below her tell her what to do "You will not dictate to me Halfling!" she held her right arm before her and shoved him "If you choose this hound you are going against God" her focus still on his reddened eyes and scars that streaked his skin as if liquid fire had fallen from his eyes and burnt into his flesh, she would have very much liked to have asked him why his face was like that and she wondered if he could even see through such eyes. Deep down she did not want to fight this man, she assumed he was a good follower of Christ, however felt he was too kind and felt his judgement was wrong; he was letting human emotion cloud his vision. However Adonia would not let anything get in the way of what she knew was right, and to her the right thing was to be rid of all hounds and demons "Step aside Halfling!" she warned one last time.

"Not a mortal... In that you are mistaken. When my human side finally dies there won't be enough left to sustain my existence. One might think being half elf would let me live longer. It does quite the opposite. I haven't long to live..." Shalom didn't know what to do. He wouldn't fight on the hound's side against an angel. All he wanted was to end the conflict, to avoid an unnecessary death. But he was meddling in the affairs of immortals. He was intervening in the war that began in the beginning of time. What if he was wrong? What if he was saving someone who shouldn't be saved, going against God? And what about this other hound... There was no indication that he was seeking redemption. And the angels. All his life he'd wanted to meet an angel. All his life he'd wanted to ask them the most important question. He never thought he would meet them like this.
"Hound... Give me some sign that I am not defying my creator!"

Toby glanced up. His eyes landed on the elf. He wasn't sure but....he thought that the elf might have looked at him. Not for long, but maybe just a quick glance? And if he did, what for? "Hey!" He walked up next to the elf. "Did you um....no never mind." God that was stupid he thought walking over to Gray, slipping his right hand into his pocket and gripping the black metal that was the handle of his knife. Just in case. Geez I've got to stop thinking that everything is about me. He rubbed the back of his neck with his left hand. "You need any help?" he whispered, sure that Gray would hear. He didn't exactly trust anybody else within about a 50ft radius right now.

"But what if this hound really does seek forgiveness?" Virgil spoke, he now stood on his feet...he wiped at his clothing "Adonia, we must always give bad a chance to be good" he reasoned "We can just be here to make sure no one gets hurt if he is in fact deceitful" he watched the younger hound, it would seem he followed the older one; why was this? Virgil very much doubted that the hounds were good at all, but he was sure he knew better than Adonia. The Lord that He knew and loved would WANT to give anyone a chance to redeem themselves, as much as Virgil hated to let these creatures live he had made up his mind there and then "I will not fight along side you Adonia, it is not for us to make this call...you know that as well as I do"

"A sign?" Gray prodded at his chin, his eyes looked up towards the sky from inside of the church; he could see that large heavy droplets of rain had began to fall slowly. What could he do to gain the trust of these people? "I have no sign but I can give you a promise, I can give you my word...I will put all of my time and effort into helping you and the angels" he looked to Adonia "I will help find a way to end this all, I will fight against my own kind for you Shalom...I am you and you are me, you can sense it too" his eyes then wandered back to him "You must trust me" he turned his towards Toby who stood aside him as usual "We must stay calm Toby" he whispered under his breath. He looked to Adonia with a giant smirk.
"If you choose to fight, it would seem you stand alone...even your own do not agree with you" he said glancing quickly over to the other angel.

((Sorry I edited this just afterwards so if you read it without this occ then read the end again sorry.))

Father Tunston dropped the crucifix, and fell to his knees, finally breaking from his state of panic. Sweat rolled down his face.
"I'm sorry... I lost control..." He still trembled as unused adrenaline flowed through his veins.

The hound's words showed no sign of deceit, no quiver.
"I believe you, just please understand if you don't hold all of my trust just yet." Shalom looked down and closed his eyes, breathing a sigh of relief. Now all that remained was the other angel. If she would just give the hound a chance, this day could end without death. That was all that mattered to him now.

Toby nodded, somewhat reluctantly. "But what if they're lying?!" he hissed. "I know you trust them, but I'm still not convinced." He stated that last line a little bit louder, glancing at Andonia as he said it. "How do we-...how do I know that I can trust them?!" He asked Gray. He was getting pretty worked up. He walked a little bit away and started walking in circles. Dirt and dust were starting to rise off the ground of the church, only to be beat down again by the rain. He spat a few times, but he never took his eyes oof of the angels, Andonia in particular.

Izanami stood up and walked into the church. "Hounds seeking redemption very odd, but not as odd as a halfing and an angel helping him seek it." She said this loudly making sure everyone could hear her. She had been listeneing to the whole conversation and knew about everything. Izanami glanced at eveyone around as she walked in making sure to see their faces. She tightened one of her hands into a fist incase it came down to a fight. Her sword was on her back in its case. It swung back and forth with the movement of her hips. Izanami stopped near the crowd. The only one that sparked an interest in her was the younger looking hound. He did not trust that they, the angel and halfing, were telling the truth when they said they would help Gray in seeking redemption.

Toby's eyes flew to the new comer. She was looking at him. He frowned and wiped the rain out of his dark eyes, tightining his grip on his knife. "What do you want?" He called out to her. He looked from her to Gray "Is she gunna help you...possibly me, too?" he muttered. He looked back at the girl and took another step forward.

Izanami noticed Toby's grip tighten around his knife. She slowly reached up and grabbed her sword. "I could help you on your journey to redemption. It would be better than hanging around that graveyard doing nothing." Izanami loosened her grip on her knife. She reache dinto her pocket and pulled out a small object; she gripped it firmly in her right hand. It was a lighter. Izanami could control fire.

Toby glanced at the lighter. he coughed a few times. He smiled slightly and then burst out laughing, despite his best efforts not too. "You think fire is gunna do anything to me? To us?" He asked motioning to Gray "When we have to spend our fee time in Hell?" He was on the ground now, still laughing. He was on his back, looking at the roof of the churh. One of his pale arms, the left one which now held the knife, was splayed out to the side of him. The right one was laying accross his chest. His chest was now expanding and contrasting very quickly. He rolled over onto all fours with his back to the girl and started coughing. Alot. When he was in mid-cough, the hiccups started. He stood up and turned to face the girl, moving a little as he kept his mouth closed, fighting the hiccups. "Ow! Damn hic hiccups hic hurt!" he muttered. "Aa-hic-aahh....I haven't hic laughed like hic that in a while hic!" He smiled at the girl. "I hic thank you fo hic that, but hic I'm sorry hic if I offended you hic?"
