Arnicus watched the dopey human called Joxer as he stumbled around. The guy was kind of strange, but he was nice enough, and Arnicus felt a little bad for barking at him and his girlfriend the other day. He just didn't want them to find the apple cave that he'd found with Argo. They'd have to go back there and explore soon.
All of a sudden, his stomach growled again. I'm hungry! he barked at Joxer, but the man just patted him on the head. He sniffed around the floor to see if there were any scraps laying around, but the floor was clean. Gabrielle, I'm hungry! he barked, but she was busy talking to the Cyrene lady.
The only one left in the room that he knew was Xena, but he didn't think she'd give him any food. She didn't seem to like him for some reason, but he went and sat at her feet anyway. Xena, I'm hungry! he barked.

Xena smirked as her mother cooed over Gabrielle and her new dog. "I see where I stand," she muttered. She ordered a drink and sat down at a table in the back corner of the bar where she could see everyone. A few moments later, she heard the soft yapping of Gabrielle's new dog. "What do you want?" she sneered at him, but he just looked up at her with his big brown eyes and thumped his tail against the wooden floor. "You want a drink?" she lowered her glass down to the dog who sniffed it and sneezed. "Heh. Wuss."
Arnicus barked at her again.
"Look, if you want food, you have to talk to Gabrielle. She's the one that likes you."
Arnicus whined and kept looking at her with those big eyes.
Xena sighed and called to the barmaid. "Bring me some food for the dog, will you?" The girl obeyed and handed Xena a plate of lamb scraps. Bit by bit she tossed the scraps to the dog, who ate it happily. "If you tell anyone about this, I'll feed you to Cerberus," she whispered to him.

she probably took a detour teh get her armor polished stare
*walks inteh deh tavern invisible an sits behind xena*
yuu didnt strike me as a dog person...

-Athena arrives late with newly shiny armor. She notices Ares stench aura behind Xena, so after slipping her tan cloak over her head, she walks inside and sits a couple tables away from the two.-

sweatdrop Cyrene's heart fluttered as Gabrielle regaled her of their latest adventures. She knew her daughters could handle the trouble they got into, but she still worried about them, nonetheless. They had been killed how many times? question It was ludicrous, but they always managed to come back to life. exclaim The gods must favor them, she thought. How else could they keep evading Hades' clutches? Never once, though, did she sound an "Oh, dear" or let her face look worried. neutral cool The girls always hated it when she did that.
"Wait, so you're telling me that that cute little doggie over there ate a fireball?" eek

Artemis invisibly popped in behind her sister and sat down at the table with her. I wonder if Apollo would want to get in on this? she thought to herself. Nah, he'd probably go running off to tell daddy or something...Hey, what is Aphrodite doing here?

Simultaneously, Xena and Arnicus froze with their hair standing on end. The sense of the gods was unmistakable. Aphrodite never gave off these kinds of vibes.
"Ares," Xena whispered as Arnicus let out an accompanying growl. She spoke quietly so as to not alarm the others. "What do you want now, you b*****d?"

*gets a gold gleam in my eyes from athenas armor an glares at her (not that it wuld matter with me being invisible an all). leans in closer teh xena an lowers voice*
i got an offer for yuu... how wuld yuu like teh help us take over valhalla? twisted an dont worry... we wont kidnap anybody. i think yur gettin a little too used to deh idea stare i kno yur not too fond of teh gods tho... so this wuld deffinately help even teh odds twisted an with yur history with teh norse... it shuld be easy.
*looks down at teh growlin dog*

"You know, the one good thing about the Norse gods is that they leave me alone most of the time!" Xena hissed. "As for the dog, I wouldn't say eating a fireball was exactly handling Calllisto. Just a fancy parlor trick, if you ask me."

Gabrielle smiled at Cyrene's full attention that she was giving her. Like any good mother, whenever Gabrielle mentioned a part that was violent, she could tell Cyrene would tense up, even though she didn't show it. Ha! I wonder how she handles my stories when I go into deep story telling mode like I do when I perform, thought Gabrielle, amusingly. .
"I know! At first I couldn't believe it but that little dog can sure put out a fire." Gabrielle turned to gesture to the puppy but couldn't see him. "Where did he go anyways?"

Xena turned around to face the god of war, but he was still invisible, so she looked back down to make it look like she was talking to the dog. "What are you talking about? He never even got near Callisto." She didn't comment on the Valhalla parts because the idea of getting rid of the Olympians appealed to her...she just didn't want Ares to know that she was considering his offer just yet. Even if she did go along with his offer, she'd grumble about it all the way and not let him see the little thrill she got every time he came near her.

Arnicus continued to snarl as Xena talked to Ares. He couldn't see the god, but he knew he was behind Xena. He also knew there were two other gods a couple of tables down. If only he could speak the human language to alert Argo's humans! He was fully aware that, to everyone around them, it looked like he was growling at Xena, but he dismissed the fact in order to make sure these gods knew he meant business.

i didnt think yuu wuld notice since yuu been ignorin him ever since he joined yur little group... things like him draw attention tho 3nodding but hes not whuts important right now

Xena's toes started wiggling at the thought of a good battle, but she shook her head to try and rid herself of those thoughts. "No way, Ares. I don't belong to you anymore. I won't do your bidding or be your beck-and-call girl, and I especially won't leave Gabrielle to do it!"
