Koorie sat there, breathing heavily, trying to slow down her heart rate and regain herself from her clear start. She said nothing; she was completely unsure on how exactly she should act towards Flame. It wasn't his fault, but at the same time it was. She was confused, and with it being so early in the morning, it was starting to make her head hurt.
"Water...." She finally said. "I really need to be getting to some water now...."

Flame immediately went to her and picked her up and placed her on his back again. He began to go down the mountain to the lake. His movements were careful but fast. He didn't say anything, but inside his thoughts were raging.
'Water. How could I not have known she would need water. Am I really that stupid? Or maybe I'm just that selfish...for staying by her and ignoring the knowledge that she would have been better off without me...' He sighed and shook these thoughts away, for he knew they were not going to help him now. If he really wanted to protect Koorie now, then he would do his best to get her to some water.

Koorie smiled a little, feeling the solidity of Flame beneath her; even though she was feeling weak, she knew that he would take care of her. She said nothing as he carried her, but very carefully wrapped her paws over his shoulders and her tail wound itself around his stomach.
"It was nice...." She murmured to him, letting him know that she wasn't going to be too mad at him.

Her words took him off guard slightly. "Huh?" He wasn't sure what she meant, but he did know that her voice was soft. That was a good thing.
He got to the lake and gently slid Koorie off his back and placed her by the water. He stepped back to give her some room and then waited for her to get some water. He wondered if he should leave her before she had a chance to get mad at him. He didn't want to see her upset after all. But somewhere deep within him he still believed that she did need him somehow. Or maybe he just wanted to believe that. He wanted someone to need him.

Koorie gave him a very tender nudge with her tail before she slipped into the water. Oh how it felt so replenishing to have the cold, refreshing water against her body. She drank the pure water as she swam below, then surfaced in the middle of the lake. She slid through the water and brought herself back up onto the banks.
"I'm not mad...." She looked at him with a serious expression; she really didn't think she could stay mad at him; he was the first Namir who would actually stand by her, and she knew that.

Flame watched her, glad that she was able to get some water. He hated water, but he knew it must feel really great to her.
After she came back he smiled at her, glad to hear that she was not mad. "Well, I have to say, that is a relief. After all, if I had to force you to go somewhere with me, it might be a little difficult if you were mad at me."

Koorie gave a soft chuckled and shook her head. "If I was mad, you'd be getting Ice Beamed right now...." She sighed, laying on the banks, her lower half still in the water.
"So.... how will this work with you not being able to go into water, and me not being able to be without water for more than 24 hours...?"

Flame chuckled as well. Not that ice would hut him very much, but he got the point of her comment.
Her last statement made him think for awhile. He knew he had succeeded in gaining her trust, or else she would not have hinted at keeping their friendship working. He finally just smiled at her and replied, "It's working now, isn't it?" Flame wouldn't mind coming to the water to see her, and he didn't mind carrying her to the mountains and back...before 24 hours.

Koorie looked up at him when he answered her, then smiled softly and nodded. "I suppose it is...."
A rather mischievous look came across her face, and carefully she used her tail to flick a few droplets of water at him. She didn't want to hurt him, but she did want to tease him a bit.

Flame snorted and shook his head a little when he was sprinkled with water. It stung a little, but not enough to cause Flame any real pain, it mainly only surprised him a bit. He returned her mischievous look with one of his own, a long with a good chuckle as he used his paw to flick some dirt onto her.

Koorie let out a sound of surprise and turned her face from the flying dirt, closing her eyes. She didn't need to have the irritation of getting particles of dirt in her eyes; they were red enough. Gently, she flicked a few more droplets of water at Flame.

In a swift movement, Flame dodged the droplets of water coming his way and moved closer to Koorie. He stopped in front of her and gazed tenderly into her eyes for a moment, and then lightly nuzzled against her.

Koorie felt her heart stop beating and her stomach drop; what was he doing?! Her face was growing red in embarrassment and she was praying that he wouldn't be able to see that.
"W-what are you doing...?" She finally managed to get out. She shifted a bit, looking up at him with a hint of confusion in her eyes.

Flame stopped and looked at her. He smiled, despite the red color of her cheeks. "Just showing some affection. You know, it's what you do when you like someone..." He sighed, knowing this probably wouldn't ease her embarrassment at the moment. But when dealing with Koorie, he guessed it couldn't be helped.
"You really don't mind do you?"

Koorie stared at him in shock. He... liked her? Giving a soft sigh, she smiled a little and leaned over to him, nuzzling him back gently. "I don't mind... though I wish I knew how I'd gotten you to like me; I'm famous for being a cold hearted witch."
