Tonks turned bright red, and ran a hand through her hair. "Well...well...I already said I would...urgh...are you sure you don't mind?" she asked, her voice quite a bit higher than usual. "Maybe...maybe, you know, you and I could hang out later on in the day? I would feel terrible leaving you out." She realized she still hadn't mentioned they would only be hanging out as friends. Stupid, stupid, stupid... "I mean, it's only fair that I promised to go--as friends--and everything..." There, at least she could breathe a bit easier now that that little snag was out of the way.

Tom chuckled slightly. "No, no, no. It's quite alright! I mean, our whole idea - going as friends, I mean - was a spur of the moment whim, based on the fact that neither of us had dates.
"You have a date, now, and you're GOING to enjoy yourself, ya hear? Trust me; I won't feel left out. We can hang out another time."

"D-Date?" Chairlie muttered to himself. He turned to Tom "Are you sure? I didn't know you and her..." he trailed off, slightly embaressed.

"We weren't," Tom replied lightly but with a silencing look. "We were just going to hang out. Both of us were kind of bummed that we didn't have anyone to go with. In essence, we were both going stag... together. Seeing as you just asked her out, I don't want to give the impression that she was obligated to go with me."
Tom smiled a radiant smile, and clapped his Quidditch mate on the back. Truly, there were no hard feelings - it hadn't been a date - at least not a real one.

Tonks's eyes darted from Tom to Charlie rapidly several time before the blush finally faded. She had never in all her life had to sort out anything like this before. Hell, she'd never even been on a date with anyone before! Her insides were squirming with delight and slight guilt that Tom would now be going alone. She sent Tom a look that showed how grateful she was. Her first ever date! She bit her lip to keep from squealing. She finally calmed herself down, and tried to get her silly self back by reaching over and ruffling Charlie's hair. "Looks like you've got yourself a date then, Charles!" she said brightly.

Charlie blushed "Great!" he smiled. After doing a victory dance in his head he said " but don't call me Charles, Nymphadora!"

Tom winked at Tonks to let her know that the whole situation didn't weigh heavily upon him at all. Then, he reached slightly and flicked Charlie Weasley in the back of the head. " 'Don't call her Nymphadora; if you do, she'll rightly poke you in the eye with her wand'." Tom recited monotonously.

Tonks smiled at Tom gratefully before turning on Charlie, her ears perking up at the sound of her dreaded first name. "He's right, you know Charlie," she said seriously, pulling out her wand. Instead of using the proferred wood stick, she decided to just go for the tackle instead.

Not expecting the tackle, Chairlie was knocked off his feet. "Then don't call me Charles then, Nymphie" he pushed her off and pinned her to the ground. "We got a deal?"

Instead of replying, Tonks grimaced in pain. "There's a root in my back! Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" she whined pathetically.

"Oh Merlin! Sorry!!" he jumped off. "Are you ok?" he held out a hand to help her up.

Tonks reached out and took Charlie's hand. The moment hers closed around his she grinned evilly and pulled as hard as she could. Once Charlie was on the ground, she sat on his back and twisted his arm around into a half-nelson. "How's it goin' Charles?" she asked sweetly, ruffling his hair.
