"Where his territory is is not quite the issue, is it, Mr. Odd," Alethia asked, her attention lingering on Drywood, though she addressed the other male. "If, as he says, she is difficult to control even in his presence, well. If someone happened upon her while you were away, Mr. Drywood. Startled her, for instance. I shudder to think..." She did actually shudder.

Odd closed his beak as he listened to both Alethia and Drywood. His feathers flattened, as did his eartufts, as he peered out into the rains once more. He wanted ever so much to be by himself again. He was not much for social interaction and was beginning to become anxious. A dislike for Alethia was welling inside of him, although he did not speak of this.
"Perhaps you could contact a Serpe breeder at some point in time, though they are scarce... If you could find one, he or she might have some training techniques and advice."

Drywood shook off his temporary thoughtfulness and gave a pretty natural-sounding good-natured chuckle. "Oh, I shouldn't worry about that. I live far out on the western border of Noctua, almost at the edge of the Great Western Open. I only get visitors when my services are needed... people very rarely 'happen' to come my way."
He bobbed his head at Odd. "I do keep meaning to do that. The keeper I originally got her from would surely be willing to help, but... I guess I just get a bit too distracted by my work."

There's a sudden distant peal of thunder that just keeps rolling on and on and on, as if somewhere out there, the rain has momentarily been replaced by lightning strikes. It seemed to come from the direction of the Deep Woods...
