I very much dislike AXE for anyone even aside from the fact that it's not natural etc. To me it just smells cheap. Especially the male version though, along with BOD and the other low priced aerosol sprays. Yuck. I have a sensitive nose though. whee

we use the toms of maine ones with the hops that work as an anti-bacterial, i have the one with lavender in it, and my SO uses the unscented sensitive skin one since he doesn't believe in perfumes. we have one of the crystal ones, but i find it doesn't really work for me, i end up stinking anyways.

I have been using Toms of Maine's 12-hour deodorant(the lemongrass scent is amazing) for the past year and it has been perfect for my day-to-day around town activities. I just recently started working in the kitchen of a restaurant though, which is very sweaty work, and I am definitely in need of something stronger.
I personally like my regular body odor because it really isn't a horrible stench or anything, but I am sure that it probably bothers my co-workers.
I mean, I can't smell delicious and fruity all the time. gonk

onicoe An old wives remedy that really works. Moisten a bit of towel with some apple cider vinegar and apply it to your underarms. The natural yuck fighting properties of vinegar help to fight the bacteria that produce odor. And on the plus side your armpits tend to kindof smell like apples once the strong vinegar smell wears off. I use this on days when my salt crystal smells a little funky (i've learned i need to let it air dry and clean it every now and then). Actually i've been using acv more than the crystal lately. I use Bragg's raw apple cider vinegar. I don't now if that makes any difference. I might have to try this. I am so smelly, and it makes me feel so gross. After a morning of school, I come home and already have to change my shirt. My pits are so smelly. I used to use a crystal, which I used mostly because conventional deodorant makes me smell like [(insert flavor) + (bo)]. Right now I'm using a liquid roll on of the crystal brand that has lavender in it. I still smell sweaty. It's weird bc growing up my sister had this problem, and now she's fine and I have it. I really hate smelling gross. I wash under my pits like three times a day with a loofah and soap. Bleh.

What do you do? Sitting at a desk, especially in an office, for whatever reason, makes me sweat like there's no tomorrow. Not the best smelling kind. Usually wore tight fitting cotton blend shirts. (Yay pit stains.)
When I switched jobs - doing heavy lifting outside in cotton t-shirts, I still sweated, but it wasn't intrusive at all.
Maybe try some looser fitting shirts? It'll probably be hard because society has this fascination with super tight short sleeved shirts for women. rolleyes
Watch it with the apple cider. I was using it as a toner with cotton pads and tossed the pads into the trash after. If you're not on top of cleaning it out, you get this really awful smell. Not sure how different it'll be with a towel, but just thought I'd warn you.
I also found that not shaving helped with the wetness. I don't have gnarly pit hair that you can braid, but enough that I'd be too bashful to wear tanks. When I'm wearing regular shirts, I don't shave at all and find it works out well. (And I don't put anything on.) When I shave, I get really wet and usually smelly.

I use the crystal roll-on kind with a pomegranate scent -- I LOVE it so far. It's been a week of using it, and it's great! I've let my armpit hair grow in a lot, though, and I find that it makes my pits smell even worse. I also find that it works best after a shower -- but if your pits smell bad already, and you apply it, it won't work that great. XD
I've heard of ACV working well, and also radish juice! I've never tried them, though. o:

i've found that since i stopped shaving, my BO has gone down a metric ton. i need less deoderant, i find i even sweat a little less. i read that the hair carries the sweat away from the skin and away from the bacteria that cause the odor.

Well, what do you know: " More importantly, armpit hair naturally wicks moisture away from the skin, which aids in keeping the skin dry enough to prevent colonization by odor-producing bacteria." WikipediaUnfortunately multiple other searches have brought up the complete opposite. At least the Wikipedia article is referenced, so I trust it a wee bit more than eHow. I wish women had the same lenience to armpit hair as men.

i'm having a hard time finding any information on the web that's not either hearsay from people who've never tried not shaving or a website belonging to a company with a stake in telling women shaving is cleaner so they can sell more product. it's frustrating. the source they cite there on wiki is a hard book source.
