Lost Child Maigo

PostPosted: Fri Mar 14, 2008 10:31 pm

Maigo stood up from the goblin's corpse. After touching her pendant, a glow surrounded the guardian and it vanished back into the stone. "Dorvo the Devious? The name doesn't sound familiar. If he is as evil as you say, we will definitely stop him. You can count on us. By the way, I'm Maigo." Maigo extended her hand to the now standing dwarf.

((On the matter of healing, when my golem comes back out, is he fully healed?))

Varnis had sheathed his sword as he looked over to the dwarf. Walking over to him, he waited for the others to finish talking. "But, don't you guys think we should know some stuff about this Dorvo the Dobious? We can't just waltz in there, and kill some one we have no information on. For all we know, this could be a trap." Varnis had said, not really hearing the name correctly, as he leaned back against a tree.

((Hehe.. Sorry about the post length. So used to cause and event type role plays. I should work on that lol. Also, the healing between battles I think would make sense, since you are "in character" even out side of battle. Just my two cents.))

The Real Clendyx
((By the way, since Arayl has heals, can he heal us between battles?))
Healing only takes place within battle, regardless of whether by spell, ability, item or potion. Under special circumstances, a DM may allow healing between battles, but this ain't it. mrgreen

((On the matter of healing, when my golem comes back out, is he fully healed?))
Yes, the summon begins with it's original Stats each time you summon it, regardless of what may have happened during the previous battle.

Your post length if fine, just fine. And as previously established, healing only takes place within battle. It's a system balance thing.

The dwarf look at each of you in turn, listening to your statements. Taking Maigo's hand in his own, he shakes it firmly and says,"Me name is Balthazar, Balthazar Brickbreak. A right pleasure it is to make yer acquaintance." Turning to Varnis at his comment, Balthazar responds, "Yer right to be suspicious, I warrant. Strange events make for strange companions. If I may suggest, perhaps you should meet the one known as Dorvo the Devious, and judge for yerself. The base camp is only a few miles from here. It might be that ye could pose as hirelings looking for work. At the least, it'd get you a meeting a'fore he tried anything, by me guess."

"Aye." Clendyx couldn't help shifting back into the dwarven accent, remembering a long time ago...he felt an emptiness where his mentor used to fill his mind. He shrugged it off, and then replied, "Thank you, Balthazar Brickbreak. If you wish to join us, be my guest, as we are heading into the base camp now. But either way, we'll need disguises."

"Nice to meet you Balthazar. I'm glad that you are not too badly injured. I think the only thing to do now is to find out more about this Dorvo the Devious. I'm not sure that we will need disguises though Clendyx. The Dorvo does not know us. We can just say that we are adventurers looking for what work we can find."

Maigo hoped that she did not sound like a fool. She had grown up among the noble houses and did not have a lot of experience with adventuring outside of the towns yet.

"Well, some of you don't even LOOK evil. I mean, we could make you look darker, Maigo, and the others would have to have sneers or something, but that's the least we could do if we want to survive 5 minutes." He was pacing around now, wondering what they could do to make this work.

"Ture, we may not need disguises when we first go in there, as he does not know what we look like, but..." Pausing for a bit, to think some. "... if we go there like this, he will know what we look like, so when we go fight him." He looked at everyone. "He will know what we look like." He said as he still leaned against the tree.

Maigo's faced flushed with embarrassment. "Oh, I guess that makes sense. But where do we find disguises?" Maigo looked down at the goblins bodies. "I don't suppose their clothes would help to make a proper disguise." Maigo pushed the goblin over with her foot. The clothes were sparse and filthy. She had no idea if it would work or not.

He snapped his finger, and then looked at them. "If we could pull it off, we could disguise myself and Maigo, me as a sort of mercenary, Maigo as a bugbear, and make it appear as if the rest of you are in chains. And with these...rags..." At that, he nudged one of the goblins with his boot, "...you could throw them over your own clothes, and we will 'present' some prisoners in torder to see Dorvo, as an offering to join. Then we strike." He was thinking again, and then turned to Maigo, "It won't be hard, seeing as we're 'bounty hunters'. All we need..." He thought for another moment, "...is a sort of loose-fitting robe for you, and a couple tusks for additonal effect, and all I need is a mask, just to make it look good."

Maigo looked down at herself. She felt a little small and skinny to be a bugbear, but if Clendyx thought they could pull it off then she would give it a try. "So where do we find these things?"

Balthazar Brickbreak ponders a bit, considering your dilemma. "Ye should be able to fashion appropriate disguises from the leavings of these here goblins, if'n ye got any talent. At least enough so's you don't look quite so friendly, in a manner of speakin'."

Maigo picked at the filthy clothes on the goblin's corpse and shuddered. It would be most unpleasant, but there seemed to be no other way. "Alright. I guess we should just get to it." Maigo started pulling at the clothing and tried to fashion something to cover her robes. She also made sure that her hair was still covering her pointed ears. Those would stand out if the enemy saw her.

"I guess this would make a decent cowl." Maigo pulled the cloth over her head, forming a deep hood that hid most of her features. The rest of the cloth she wrapped around herself, trying to hide the mages robes that she wore.

Clendyx pulled his headband down low over one eye, and then fashioned a couple of bandannas from the rags, tying one around his mouth and the other around his head. He also took the bits and pieces of mismatched armour the goblins had on and picked a select few out, putting on a leather chestplate that was a bit small on him, and strapping on shinguards. He then lopped the right ears of the goblins off, and tied them around his neck on a cord. He took some more rags, and fashioned a cloak to hide his shield under, and strapped his sword to his side. After wrinkling his nose, he made a slightly muffled statement, "I'm taking a loooooong shower after this is over. As for the rest of you...get the rest of the rags on, and then..." He took a coil of rope from one of the goblins, and inspected it. "Looks long enough, but let's see if this is as good as he thought it was." He pulled on it, and the rope started to fray right in his hands. "Perfect!"

Varnis walked over to the goblins dead bodies. "Hmmm..." He said to himself as he studied them. Picking up one of the goblins, he tore off the goblins rags, and casted the goblin's body off to the side. Looking at the rags, he got and idea of what he could do. He wrapped his shield in the rags, and placed it on his back. Sheathing his sword onto his back, he looked at the rest of the rags that where left. He threw them over himself as to make it seem as if he had no armor on, and made it seem as if the sword, and the shield on his back, seem like a birth defect. Covering his head with a part of the rags, that seemed to be like a hood, he smelled it acadently. "Ugh! This reeks!" He stated loudly. Looking at the others, he hunched over some, as to make it seem as he was an old man. "So, how is this?" He asked, as it seemed like he was some old man, with a birth defect on his back.
