most of my friends online know i'm a girl...
I get more help then i need but i also help back..
I usally get stuff in raids because i'm a healer and i save my dkp lol

My first server though a guy paided for my epic mount...
Then asked me for naked pics... I farmed and sent the money back to him.
Then hit ignore,, I had a stalker at one point that would sit and watch my toon if i was afk in a city... And as soon as afk went away or i moved i got a tell right away.. very creppy..

The guild i am in now.. When i joined the officer was like " ohh your female" and i said yeah and then he put in my note " 12 yr old boy"
When they relized i was single they changed it but.. I'm used to preverted talk/jokes on vent.. but i start it most of the time =P... So far no creppy guys which is good lol..

Having played ally and horde.. I have ran into more creppy guys on ally then horde...

And one thing i have to say i hate about all the " girls dont play video games" thing is..

Trade chat
" Girls dont play video games"
" yes they do.."
" if they do they are fat ugly middle aged women with 4 kids"

...wtf? ..... I have heard this on more then one server being as i play on 4...

My first raiding guild's main tank was a 12 yr girl...

It bad enuh to run into joke like this which jokes are jokes.. but most of the people are actally serious about it which scares me a bit...

And i have heard the line " your bf is lucky" But from people that actally meant it... i play wow and i still do but it caused my relationship to go poof..

ARENA RATING isnt that important!!! lol.

okay.. i'm done ranting now =P

I find it kind of funny reading about this stuff because I really never see it happen. Maybe its because I'm on an established (read: aging) Role-Play server. The male/female population is about even, and there's next to none of that "omg u a gurl?!?" crap unless its in jest. Take my guild for example; the guys are outnumbered 2-to-1 almost, and that's not that unusual.

Am I leaving something out? Oh, well I guess thorns is worse, lol.

Hehehe. Thorns does not get the attention it deserves sometimes. xp

Slightly off topic, I went up against an arena team with a warlock who gave her team water breathing. Now, I am not saying water breathing sucks, I just don't see where it would come in handy in arena. Maybe I am missing something. I don't know. xp

I've only been playing WoW about a month now, but I've been on the receiving end of, "Oh my God, you're a girl?" a few times. My favorite was when a kid in my guild realized it. I'm 20 and just the night before me and another guildy argued with this 11-year-old kid in the guild about why it was better to be an adult. It was a retarded argument. So the next day he starts talking to me and I guess something I said gave away that I was (gasp) a girl. The first thing this little jerk says to me is ,"Man, you're a girl and you play WoW? That's pretty pathetic." And then he refused to give me a reason as to why it was pathetic. So I booted his a** from the guild. And then ignored him for the profane messages he started to send me. Gotta love when an 11-year-old, whose parents not only pay for his subscription but tell him when he can and cannot play, tells you that you are pathetic because you are a female and you play the exact same game he is wasting his time on. It makes me wish that social skills were a requirement to sign up.

social skills were a requirement to sign up.

You do realize that would nix about 75% of the game's players? (including a lot of the nice ones?) mrgreen

Could be. On the first page people said it was most likely someone using water breathing so that if anything is dispelled or stolen, there's a chance it will be water breathing, which is something the warlock doesn't need anyway. I hadn't thought of that, but it is a good idea! (You would have thought I could have come up with that idea though having both a 70 warlock and a 70 priest, but whatever xp ) I actually made a 2v2 with my warlock very shortly after we all posted that stuff on page 1, so I have been using water breathing in arena since then!

Sec, I feel I have to rant the ******** out of this thread for a bit.

Okay, so in my guild, there are about 10 female players that I know of.
We'll say about 75% of these female players are aged 25+
The 25% that are 25 and below are mostly all batshit ******** retarded.
They've been in the guild a short while and are driving me up the wall. They act cutesy and flirt ******** nonstop in guildchat. If you're flirting and you're not joking, take it to ******** purple imo. I dont want to hear it. I dont want to have to turn off guildchat but ******** if these people continue then they probably wont hear from me until WotLK.
And they're stupid. Ye gods are they stupid; its impressive. For some reason, they think that being female entitles them to some sort of hallowed state of eternal-adoration, and ******** anyone who doesnt like it. I come bearing news: no one gives a s**t if you're a girl and you play games. Sorry, game. Just the one. The one game that anyone at any age can play, the easiest, simplest mmo ever. You are not hardcore, you are not a unique snowflake. There are many female gamers out there that are worth their stripes and can form a sentence without using "<3" and you are not one of them.
I'm all for equal treatment of the sexes in games but you have to ******** earn it.

If you dont agree with me, I dont care.

All the guys I know in game fawn over me. Maybe it's because they think I'm a lesbian, maybe it's because I told them of my pink hair? I dunno, but they give me lots of free s**t. XD

I used to be a member of an all-girls guild. I liked the fact that no one...hit on me. No one flirted with me and no one tried to give me something, expecting something in return. One thing I disliked was that our Raid Leader compaired everyone's strength to her friend's Warlock.

After my first Karazhan run, she kept reminding me that my attack power wasn't good enough, and that unless I couldn't improve it, I wouldn't go raiding with the guild again. I didn't have the guts to PuG heroics in order to gear myself, and the guild never wanted to do them. I felt that it was unfair, and left.

When I joined with my new guild, mostly consisting of men, constantly wanted to instance and gear up and improve themselves. They actually wanted to help me gear up. They actually helped me acquire Tier Four pants. No one hits on me, either.

I am a girl and I'm...nice. I act positive, and helpful, because, that is just how my personality is. But, I also know what the I'm doing...so I suppose that counteracts the cuteness? I dunno. I don't flirt in guild chat, because that s**t's embarrassing. I don't ******** talk unless someone needs me.

That sounds kind of odd... why wouldn't they want to help you? :/
You kind of sound like me in that last aspect, I don't usually talk unless someone talks to me. sweatdrop
I also seem to be flirt-unaware. I've had people apologize for flirting (one told me he shouldn't be flirting because he has a girlfriend....) and i was just like, "Wait... what? When did you start flirting?" Although I have low self esteem and often find it hard to accept when people show interest in me, even on the internet... :/

A friend of mine just told me that a girl transfered to our server recently because she caused so much drama on her last... He mentioned something about her leaving behind like 9 nude pics of herself. >.>

I'm starting to think that WoW should be more of a "girls-game" instead of a "guys-game." What I'm trying to say is that it should be much more about social skills and teamwork, than showing off skills and gear by things like ganking unsuspecting low-levels and bragging about it. Personally, I hate the players who do that, the same with people constantly asking for damage meter posts or yelling at people who make mistakes instead of giving compliments or advice.

btw, I'm sorry for the stereotyping
