SuzelovesJamesPotter When I talk about Harry Potter, I can't stop so people eventually learn to tune me out. I was IMing my best friend one day and Harry Potter somehow came up and I talked about it for 2 hours hehe. Leena just kinda sat there while I typed and typed.
I do that, too. Whenever someone brings up Harry Potter I get into these long, in-depth conversations about the symbolic value of the books, events and characters.
Then I tell the person I'm talking to that I love Sev and Draco, and they either look at me weird or totally agree with me.
By the time an hour has passed, my chatting partner is usually glaring at me full-force (attempting to make me shut up, I suppose) or sleeping a deep, deep sleep. xD

Hehe yeah people do that to me too. Sometimes, I'm afraid they think I'm so obbessed that they are going to report me to a mental hostipal. Hopefully they don't.

I would say that my favorite character is Severus Snape, I think he is a great example of the fact that everyone makes mistakes. His just happened to be becoming a death eater.

For sure, Luna. =D
I haven't read the books 4+, but I have seen the movies, which I'm pretty sure leave out a whole hell of a lot.
I sort of just want to read four so I can move on to five and see what else they have to say about Luna. >.>
I am so voting for Luna and Neville to go out. >.<

Luna is definitely my favorite. She's her own person and has always interested me. Most of the rest of the characters are simple to understand and not very complex, but Luna makes you think.

@Rogue: I disagree entirely. Many of the characters are incredibly complex. Here are two of them:
I have several but my favorite characters are Snape and Voldemort.
Snape: Snape is a very complex character and I am very proud to say that I never doubted him. In the books they stressed that Dumbledore trusted him for reasons unknown. I figured that if Dumbledore could trust him than so could I.
Snape, in my opinion, was one of the most complex characters. He had such a mixture of good and bad qualities that he remained an enigma until the very end. I loved the Deathly Hallows because it gave us insight into who he was and why he behaved the way he did. We see that the mixture of good and bad qualities started from childhood. For example, he was mistreated and scorned by the muggle world so in return he scorned them and developed an almost hatred towards them. He was resentful and secretive and sneaky. On the other hand, his relationship with Lily redeemed him somewhat. His need for a friend made him seem more human and his struggles with his family made me sympathize. In Hogwarts it's the same thing. He still loved Lily but became even more resentful when she chose James. I believe he became a Death Eater out of resentment and desperation. It was the only place where he was truly accepted and there were people who shared his resentment and anger. When he became a Death Eater, he betrayed her but he spent the rest of his life making it up to her by protecting her son. So even though he did some horrible things, his love for Lily redeemed him in the end making him one of Dumbledore's most loyal follower. I know some would argue that all his followers were loyal but if we look closely, Snape had more to lose and sacrificed more than the others. He led a double life and the only person to truly understand him was Dumbledore. That is a lonely existance.
Voldemort: Voldemort is by far my favorite villain of all time. He was completely twisted but the thing is he wasn't evil just because he could be. He was an interesting character from a psychological point of view. His childhood formed and shaped who he grew to be. It shows that power corrupts even the most innocent people (like a child). He was resentful of the muggle world and his parents and developed a hatred of them. This caused him to develop his purest views. He respected courage and power as is shown when he congratulates Neville for standing up to him. He has a vision and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it come true. His unimaginable cruelty is only matched by his extreme intelligence. His downfall, however, is in part his arrogance in believing that he knows all. He fails to understand that there are other things that are more powerful than spells and enchantments. He is unable to understand that there is no magic stronger than love.
Wow this was waaaaayyyy longer than I intended it to be. I apologize but once you get me going its kind of hard to make me shut up especially when it's about Harry Potter mrgreen

Snape!!!! Though I adore Hermione as well, she's great and Harry's cool too, but I do not want them to a couple.
Still, Snape's the best!

We have so many Snape lovers on here. Heheh it makes me laugh that I love James heart . Ahh well, I'll just be unique with James and Ron over here in the corner. 4laugh (NO DIRTY THOUGHTS! scream Cause I know how you people's mind works.)

Okay, I have three favorite characters. Draco, Luna, and Hermione.
Draco: He's just so dang hot! I love his evil character, but I think he could also be a sweetie if he tried.
Luna: She complex and different like me. I could totally relate to her in the books!
Hermione: She witty and smart. I'm witty and smart. We both like to read and I just think I can relate to her as well

I agree with the whole Hermione thing because I am basically a replica of her, just less uptight. Luna is amazing. Draco can be cool when he wants to be biggrin !
