A reasonably literate attack on the G.I.B. is a force to be reckoned with, but only if we let this person (these people?) become thus. As is, the situation requires that we wait. I remember the days of anti-G.I.B. sentiment, and this is a little bit more. Remember, though, that an attack can't work without the participation of both parties. If it comes to that, we'll be fine. I've seen agents in action before, and this is not a threat that requires any sort of offensive. There's nothing concrete we can do without aggravating the problem, so we may as well just pool information and find ways to peacefully dissuade this wrongly aggressive Gaian from his or her violent ways.
Also, the best and most accurate portrayal of our organization is that of one in favor of peace up to the point at which it becomes impossible. To go on the offensive, that would sully our good name far more than any anonymous user's picture-drawing could.

You're welcome, though little of what I said was my own original thoughts. Rather, it was pieced together from argument shards I found lying around in other people's posts and held together with personal experience.

...Is it wrong to miss the old days of calmly convincing rabid illiterate fanatics that we're out to help everyone?

That is a very bizzar picture and after taking all this in I would like to remind all agents that caution is advisable. This smells of G.H.C. (gaian hate cult/crime) just waiting to start. I can predict a 31.7% possibility that this will start secret "hate cults" in gaia. While we don't want to get in the middle of this, we should try and diffuse the situation. they always say it's better to stop a problem before it is started, I say we start leading this little rat to the cheese in the mouse trap. *Mrow* I know my voice isn't so big in the G.I.B. as it should be, but I think this will be a very catish little game.

Nein, I doubt that this will start up hate cults at current. It's just making a lot of confusion.

However if there is a group of 'voices', '1000-eyed beast' etc and we as the GiB somehow protect or habour our voice to keep things calm etc, then there could be more hate-related anti-GiB groups. That sounds fun to me! =D

And fear not, your voice can be as big or small as you make it on the internet. The more you put in, the more you'll get out. 3nodding
If that sounds fun to you, then we need to have a discussion about what you are expecting to get out of the GIB.

Well, I'm sure looking back you can laugh about it - I won't lie, sometimes I even miss those days when our thread in the Mothership when you had to surf around the hate comments and try to explain that we weren't anti-Zurg, again and again and again and again - but some agents got it way worse than us. I'm guessing they didn't stalk you with hate PMs, right? smile

It's okay to wish for more action, but remember, be careful what you wish for.

Yup. I remember making a gif about that.

In any case, there doesn't seem to be much to be done about this one (or two, or four) guys. As has been said before, there's not much he can do, aside from harassing people, in which case there's always the report and ignore buttons.

Either he's out for attention, or an RP, neither of which I feel like giving him.

I actually quite like getting hate mail. xd

It's quite fun to turn them round so they end up sounding completely stupid, but hey that's probably just me.

Oh lawl, I remember the days where I had to Copy/Paste the same 'GiB isn't anti-Zurg' etc everywhere. xp

3nodding I remember that gif, too.

I'm sure it'll be fine if some people pursue this as an RP out of boredom, and use witty put-downs to discourage their aggression, but please keep it to that.

At one point I wanted hate mail. All I really did was calmly discourage crazy people in the Mothership forum. I wasn't important enough to get hate mail.

I'm just doing this because I enjoy a challenge. No fighting, just a good mystery that I wish to solve. Information collection is my specialty, and I rarely get to put it to use. Anyway, update for anyone who cares.

It's anglo-saxon/ Old English.

Also, I found out the date the second voice will come. February 2nd. Looks like we've got a bit of a wait.

This is what happens when we don't get a plot update from the mods and admins. We make up our own mysteries and conflicts.
Which I think is great if it's all in good fun.
