"I've seen those a few times." She'd watched them crawl over the mountains before.
"You know .... the way the dark blue of the deep ocean creeps up on the colors almost looks like your stripes." She smiled up at him. It would probably be even more so when the sun set completely and there was just that little stripe of light left.

"On moonless nights the sea becomes more like my eyes than my stripes... It is easy to get lost on nights like that." He nodded slowly as he closed his eyes, tilting his head up towards the sky for a moment before leaning back down. "At least the moon will be able to guide us tonight."

"With the moon it would look like you only inverted." She smiled and nudged his shoulder with her nose. "You wanted to get home?" She didnt' want to keep him out here if he wanted to be elsewhere for the time being.

"The breeze off of the water will be getting colder now that the sun has set... I wanted to get somewhere warm." Warm and safe from the sand that would, inevitably, get caught in the wind. "Besides... If we are out too late we'll wake someone up by coming in."

"Then lead the way?" She smiled as she nudged him again and laughed softly. "I wouldn't want to get on the bad side of your family by waking them up making you drag me home late."
It wouldn't look good on her at all and she'd feel horrible about it. So it was best to get where ever they were going before that happened.

"They'll still be awake..." If he guessed right Ela would just be coming home as well unless she'd had an off day... They would come in right in time to hear a story from her, or maybe even his mother or father, before calling it a night. "I doubt you could put yourself on anyone's bad side."

"Well i do try not to. It's always nicer to be able to make people smile than to upset them." She tossed her mane out of her face for a moment as they walked along. It would be nice to see Ela again and check up on her and maybe even talk to Acheron's mother some more.

"A ray of sunshine, such as yourself, on a bleak day, such as most winter days tend to be, would be far too tempting to smile at than not." He could see the cavern in the cliff facing not far ahead. Soon enough, should they continue talking, their voices would be heard and their peaceful interlude would end.

"Ray of sunshine?" She laughed softly at his words. "I'm a little dark for that don't you think?" She nudged his shoulder as she caught up to him.
She'd come in not too long ago and was surprised when she heard voices heading toward the cavern. They didn't sound familiar, except for one, and she didn't expect some of her family members to be coming back any time soon.

"The darkness on the outside masks the brightness within." He gave her a wink before picking up his pace slightly, trotting towards the cavern. "Helloooo. Is there any body home?"

"Nope, no one's home." She stepped out of the gloom in the cavern and grinned at her brother. "Oh .... you brought her home again." Technically he hadn't brought her home the first time but she'd at least come down to the beach with him.
"Hello Ela." She smiled. "I hope i'm not intruding?"

"Actually, dear sister, if you would like to get technical about it... She brought me home. You see, just as I was about to go see her... She came to see us." He flashed his sister a smile, spreading his wings so that he could attempt a flourish of a bow for the act only to quickly pull his sore wing back to his side, making a face.

She frowned as her brother made a face. "You hurt yourself didn't you?" He knew better than to do that and should have known even more when he had a perfectly nice unicorn right next to him who could have helped.
"Hurt.... Acheron? I didn't do anything did i?" Her eyes widened slightly as she looked at him. "Oh, oh! When i startled you!"

"There was a rough wind the other day... It's nothing, really." He shifted his shoulder in an attempt to settle his wing a bit better without actually moving it. "I'll be fine." It wasn't as if he hadn't done the same thing several times when he was younger... Between battling the wind and battling waves he was used to a strained muscle.

She frowned at her brother more. She didn't like it when he didn't want help when he was hurt. "I'm not going to tell you any stories until you let her help you .. and i've got a good one."
"If you're hurt you should tell someone ... what if it's more than you think it is?" She nudged his side carefully with her nose.
